841  Other / Meta / Re: How to get merits (guide) on: August 03, 2018, 05:58:44 PM
Am a newbie but I don't see getting merit as impossible.
Then why have you not got any ?

I believe it's all about the value you add to the forum but I see people posting just for posting sake in order to get some activities. In any enterprise, the value you bring to the marketplace determine your worth and I think the same applies to this noble forum.

The observation is right. You even followed it with a live example which I marked as bold.

admin ....I can't reply in forum plz help.....

Looking at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1693274;sa=showPosts

You would not have been able to post this thread here if that was the case (it is only post you made today).
843  Other / Meta / Re: Newbies shouldn't be allowed to post on Currency Exchange on: August 03, 2018, 05:53:49 PM
You are old enough on the forum to spot scams.

But what you are suggesting will be helpful for the new members trying that section. They may get fooled or cheated by scammers there. It it thus a good practice to allow only old members be able to offer services there. That merit requirement is not required there in my opinion. Merit has nothing to do with how honest a member is.
844  Other / Meta / Re: Is merit point System Really Working on: August 02, 2018, 03:39:39 PM
1
Is merit point system really working?   Y

Yes for many.

2
One Person has only one account ?

What merit system has to do with this ? It cannot solve issues with the forum.

3
No fake account present on bitcointalk.org ?

New accounts will become useless unless they make quality posts, get merits and rank up.

4
Only high quality contents are present on bitcointalk.org

No. But merit system is a step in right direction.

5
No fake airdrop or bounty campaign posted on bitcointalk.org

What merit system has to do with this ? It cannot solve issues with the forum.

6
Proper distribution of merit point system is present ?

I think so. What irregularities you notice ?

845  Other / Meta / Re: All bounty hunters are from Philippines?? (PROOF) on: August 02, 2018, 03:30:34 PM
Whenever I see titles like this on a forum targeting a particular country, I feel really sad.

To add to it OP has not added any solid proof to support his finding. In case the owner of a forum is noticing spam from  a particular Geo, he always has the option to block IP of a particular region to access the site. That will not completely solve the problem (as there are ways to bypass IP restrictions) but can control it to some extent.
846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 3 best altcoins in 2018 on: August 02, 2018, 03:27:04 PM
It is obvious that the top 3 altcoins for 2018 is NEO, EOS and RIPPLE. Those altcoins is profitable in any ways like trading or long time holding. These three are very active to promote their platform and already built a strong partnetships. They continue develop their project and was promoted through out social medias or even in crypto news websites so I have no doubt investing to these altcoins.

I do not think that Ripple is anymore a good fit for top alt coins. I had myself invested good money in this coin in the past but very much disappointed with the current price movement.

Also, I do not see  it in news that much often now. Earlier, we used to hear about new partnerships being done with banks and other companies. If you compare the situation to what it was before 6 months, I will say that the craze has also dropped down significantly.
847  Economy / Economics / Re: How to manage the risk in investing cryptocurrency? on: July 30, 2018, 06:33:59 PM
There is so much risk when it comes to investing in cryptocurrency. I think we should only invest in good and known crypto. And not in newly introduce crypto.

New coins are good only for those people who have got some experience and also have the time to research for promising projects.

For new investors bitcoin is best. Other members had already given tips on how to manage risk in crypto but the most important thing is to invest only the amount that you can afford to loose.
848  Other / Meta / Re: [Security tips]Someone Just tried to reset my password on: July 30, 2018, 06:19:53 PM
There are ways to cause force log out for users. I have read reports for such bug submissions on other sites. I am not saying that such a  bug exists here also but that may be the reason why OP got logged out automatically.
849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are some of the best movies based on gambling? on: July 30, 2018, 06:11:17 PM
Teen patti Bollywood is the one I like most in gambling based other than that many hollywood movies are there but one called las vegas which i love most. It shows the complete gambling shows happening on Las Vegas gambling platforms.

Then still I do not know what is op gonna do with the gambling movie collection!!!

LOL may be he may take this collection to learn the gambling from it buddy.

I mentioned Teen Patti in my earlier comment. The movie was not successful commercially and I saw it at home but I will say that it is certainly one of the noticed masterpieces. All the stars in the film performed their roles very well.
850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are online gambling games fixed? on: July 30, 2018, 06:08:23 PM
Many bitcoin gambling sites will allow you to verify the results so you see that they did not changed the results after the fact, however the most common way in which I have seen casinos to scam their users is by simply not paying what their users won, if you take the time to look at the scam accusations board you will see that is the most common complain among those that complain about casinos, however sometimes the casino is right in not paying their customers since they cheated or violated the terms of service of the casino in which case they are completely justified in not paying the cheating customer.

Let me share the experience related to this. There were two friends of mine whom I introduced to a card game websites. They both enjoyed playing there and then after some time, they decided to play together on same table. They used to pick games and then sit on consecutive positions on the table. Then they used to help each by sending cards the other person needed and so on. They were caught and all their balance was suspended. Both of them appealed and one of the account was given back. You know why the site did this partiality because that account spent about 100 times the other.
851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 30, 2018, 06:05:10 PM
I am not sure whether anyone is interested, but today there is a T20 match between the Netherlands and the Marylebone Cricket Club at Lord's. It is a part of the tri-series involving Nepal as well. The MCC lineup includes Ian Bell, Mahela Jayawardene, James Foster and Jonathan Trott.

I am surprised to see the name of Nepal in this series. Never thought that cricket would be popular there too. Would keep a tab on the matches and how Nepal performs in this series especially.

852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you find Success in Gambling? on: July 30, 2018, 06:02:22 PM
excitement is a game, and any game needs a competent approach.  If everything is done wisely, then on gambling, you can make good money.

I have always thought that the only way to make money gambling with certainty is to own a gambling site or physical casino. Otherwise, you need to be god gifted especially in games like card games and only one in thousands will have those skills. In addition to that, you have to practice a lot to increase your chances further.
853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling addiction mainly due to loneliness and dissatisfaction? on: July 30, 2018, 06:00:02 PM
At least with the environment and association can happen not only in loneliness, because in life too extreme sociality will produce a bad thing, when we have fallen into the world of narcotics slowly we will continue to mencanduinya, let alone gamble it very often happens when we have earning the first profit in gambling we will continue to do so without any dissatisfaction and continue until finally become an addict, even not necessarily it will continue to get luck or even a frequent defeat received, it is the ugliness that often happens as an addict

I do not know about other countries but people addicted to gambling are generally addicted to alcohol and other things as well. I can confirm it only based on small sample I was familiar with. Two people I know got so much addicted to all this that they were not able to control it even when they had parents staying with them for some short time.
854  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To quit gambling is to quit yourself on: July 30, 2018, 05:57:41 PM
I play but do not depend, I can easily interrupt the game.

You mean you leave the game in between ? That does not sound very practical if money is stake. You should not start the game at first place if there is time constraint. I have had been forced to leave games in between but it was only because of things out of my control.
855  Other / Meta / Re: Thank You Bitcointalk ! on: July 29, 2018, 08:56:43 PM
I actually feel surprised that I came to know about this forum so late. It is really one of the most active online forums currently. The forum creates a win win situation for all : new crypto projects, members and advertisers.

I hope the forum staff keeps up the good work in fighting  against all the spam and keeping it active and useful for all of us.
856  Other / Meta / Re: Easy way to check for copy pasting on the forum on: July 29, 2018, 08:52:07 PM
Some of the copy/paste spammers have already beaten this method in that they replace certain words, replace letters with symbols, among other things.

Some of these spammers also will copy content from sources not on bitcointalk.

There are actually tools to spin text and make it completely unique. It has been in existence for years, those tools are used by webmaster to create web 2 or content for pbn links. Anyone with little bit knowledge of Internet marketing would be aware of these tools already.
857  Other / Meta / Re: Tips to increase the chances of your post being merited on: July 29, 2018, 08:47:06 PM
OP, your tips doesn't works because you haven't earned any Merits so far :/
.
Makes me wonder what should come first : a good quality post or merits ? To determine if the post of a member is worthy if merits, should we consider the current merits he has ? A new member will never get any that way. Smiley
858  Other / Meta / Re: Tips to increase the chances of your post being merited on: July 29, 2018, 07:45:05 PM
Can I add one more tip ? Just make a thread about merit in meta section and hope for merits.

Edit : This is sarcasm which some members failed to get as I see after reading comments.

860  Economy / Economics / Re: When will smartphones used for bitcoin mining? on: July 29, 2018, 06:45:32 PM
I have heard of people that buy phones cheaply and set-up a mining rig from phones. Not sure if it is for Bitcoin, but I have seen garages with over 2000 phones to mine crypto. Don't know how much H/s you would get from that to mine bitcoin specifically, but you can definitely try. The problem/cause solution here is the profitability.

No, currently there are no smartphones capable enough to mine bitcoins.

Also, keep in mind that the difficulty to mine is increasing with time and thus we will need stronger devices in future.
