81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation funds Bitsoko, promotes BTC literacy in Kenya on: July 15, 2015, 03:33:07 PM
Seems like Bill Gates finally went from "Bitcoin is good, but not good enough" to fully embracing it.

Do you think Bill Gates wants to extinguish BTC? what would he gain from doing so? creating his own microcoin? I dont see it.

I would take the Gates' involvement with a grain of salt. They repeatedly said they want such a digital currency to be "not anonymous", i.e. they want something proprietary; maybe for now they Bitcoin as a stepping stone or a way to prepare people for such a system.

The world's "biggest" "hacker" "conference" is no more.

I believe that we are in a post-hacker world.

wtf !?!?!?  Huh

yeah it's normal that you become more "reasonable" when you grow older, but not to that degree. The whole thing for me leaves a taste of trouble with officials / gag order / cease-and-desist.

Without the NSA data gathering programs, there would have already been a "Cyber 9/11". Unfortunately, I can't reveal the details to support this statement but, knowing my honestly and character, you'll have to take me at my word.

Huh  Huh  Huh  Cheesy  Cheesy  Cheesy

"If you have nothing to hide, you've got nothing to fear". That's a much derided quote but, honestly, you know it is true. You're parents and grandparents knew it was true. This is a, Christan-based, truism that is fundamental to our society.

alright... this has gotta be a joke... and i almost fell for it...  Huh

90  Economy / Speculation / Re: Lord Christopher Monckton attacks Bitcoin on: July 09, 2015, 03:38:13 PM
Starting at 13:50 the old fart is proposing that to defeat the formation of the world government we must create our own electronic currency. I was already thinking that they are going to embrace bitcoin but instead that old fucker starts attacking bitcoin as if it was done wrong.

what he proposes would be implemented with colored coins or the other 2.0 things. so let the market decide; maybe it won't accept the bitcoin asset as a widely used currency but rather one of the managed silver-backed assets. still bitcoin the technology is required; he should just learn what BTC is first before criticizing.

"Bitcoin the currency is very interesting, but not the blockchain."
Bitcoin is just a token for being a currency. Its advantages are recognized more and more ppl! But for BlockChain,it can be applied in more area! Many bitcoin related startup are based on BlockChain technology not bitcoin!

That was a joke. Certain industries usually put it the other way round.

What finally moved me today to start this thread is his post was his very interesting piece (from today) "Money -- Credit -- Debt & Derivatives".  It looks like derivatives are as old as money itself (maybe older!), take a look at the article:

yes, I often said that to people already, after ages of stagnation, the competition of Bitcoin forces the dinosaurs to innovate, especially to lower fees and make transactions faster.

ja das Citicoin Ding is echt ein Witz. 'cause three blockchains are better than one !!!  Roll Eyes

99  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf on: July 06, 2015, 03:26:36 PM
Mit welcher Begründung?

vielleicht weil "OMG Bitcoins sind sooo teuer, 250 euro das stück, das kann ich mir nicht leisten! aaaah litecoins gibt's auch, dann nehm ich doch die"
100  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf on: July 03, 2015, 04:12:28 PM
weil papiergoldversprechen von den banken keiner haben will und der kauf von echtem gold sich in den kursbüchern nicht so schnell niederschlägt
