I have some questions about cryptocapitals opensource exchange.
1. how much money/time did you spend creating this open source exchange platform? 2. how easy is it to add support for alt coins to the platform?

Whoever got burned on stuff like Mt.Gox deserved it. Bitcoins on an address of which you do not own the private key, are not your own Bitcoins.
So a person with a Gawminers signature saying people deserve to get scammed, interesting.

The best poster for pure entertainment value was Dank and his alt Cryptopaths.
~BCX~
Here we go again BitcoinExpress on one of his delusional fantasies making unsubstantiated claims. I'm surprised you didn't threaten to 51% attack this thread. As for my nominee for best poster I think it's to hard to decide there's plenty of people here posting interesting content.

The real reason Bitcoins price has went down is frankly quite ovbious it's because so many people have been burnt by scammers most notably MTGox.This creates an enviornment that is extremely hostile to newcomers and once they are scammed they are put off Bitcoin and they do not reinvest. Seeing as roughy 60% of Bitcoins supply has never moved this rate of alienating newcomers results in Bitcoins price plummeting at the worst and barely maintaining value at best. Countless people have left the crypto community as a result of MTGox alone that means a large percentage of people are no longer taking part in the Bitcoin ecosystem.

Does it matter? Its his forum and his liability, he's free to choose what he allows or doesn't in terms of advertising. He doesn't need a concrete reason.
except it's not his forum. Yes it is. He says that it belongs to the community however from a legal standpoint he does own it. Any decision that he makes here can potentially cause him to have some kind of personal liability. His reasoning for not wanting to accept bitmixer's bid likely has something to do with fear of liability (probably criminal) - at least in my opinion This forum belongs to the community as much as your house does. We live in a capitalistic world, people have to own things. that's a terrible analogy.

I keep about 80% of my bitcoins in my Coinbase (US company) online vault, and about 20% online in my BTC-E (foreign company) account. I always have a teeny tiny worry in the back of mind that I'll wake up one day and the headlines will read "US Government bans Bitcoin, freezes all Bitcoin assets" and I will be unable to access my Coinbase coins. Am I paranoid?
If you aren't the sole controller of your private keys, you don't have any bitcoins. No government can "freeze" properly secured bitcoins. Technically anyone with sufficient recourses could "freeze" bitcoin, governments included.

Then who's is it? I think theymos is generally considered in charge of running it etc.
Running something and owning it are not the same thing, weather Theymos even ``legally`` owns bitcointalk is largely debatable. The way Satoshi intended it to be was a sort of charity or non profit for the Bitcoin community that would further it, not as a piggy bank for one man. I`m not accusing Theymos of thinking of bitcointalk as his personal bank but I`m just clearing up some misconceptions some of you have.

95% of miners are suddenly offline. Be it a new law or an EMP strike. What would happen to bitcoin? For one it would take about x20 longer for transactions to confirm until the next difficulty adjustment.

Let me just make it clear for your stupid ass Block 1 (First PoW): Time: 1414797765 (2014-10-31 23:22:45)
Block 25000 (Last PoW): Time: 1414999215 (2014-11-03 07:20:15) First thread copied here since I was banned: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=842827.0Have I made this easy enough for the mind of a simpleton, yet, kvgear, or shall we continue? You got banned? How come?? And why are you angry with Cryptsy I have only been banned here twice in nearly two years. First was when we posted Offline Staking for Maieuticoin, second was when we posted the Snowball Staking hardware mprep has an agenda against me and my coins, or he is biased towards another shitty PoS coin. Look how many threads are allowed for random shit in this forum, but I post actual development, with both software and hardware, and get banned what reason did he give for banning you?

Oh my my how BCX got kinda quiet. Looks like his "exploit" on Monero was all talk. Surprised? Not really... You realize Bitcoinexpress just makes all these threats to scare people into dumping so he can buy at a lower price.

looks like avg user is young (immature) or old (senile)
Just because someone's young doesn't mean they're immature, ageism shouldn't exist in the Cryptocurrency community. It's not so much about age but being immature and childish and oftentimes moronic, which there is a lot of here, especially when someone disagrees with them or something isn't going their way. Pretty much the entire alt coin scene to me just seems like a bunch of teens trying to get rich quick (or that's at least how they seem to behave). That's like me saying all the people that become staff are power hungry douche bags. Your post was completely false and a huge generalization.

It has some similarities to insanitycoin but it also has many different characteristics. I was also one of the first people with InsanityCoin so I know what they did wrong.
