Since S5 was 70-72 dB and S7 has two of the same fans, it stands to reason that it might be 80dB. If I cannot bring it down to 60-61 dB, i would have no use for it longer term. I can probably tolerate 64dB for up to one-two weeks.
The SP10s and SP35s had smaller fans ... so more of a high pitch noise (unbearable to the ears long term) ... they run at around 70DB to 80DB. I quickly dispatched them to data centers. S7 then ... maybe a deeper noise but probably still unbearable for the average home miner.

Nothing official, but bitmain said it's very loud. My guess is that they are somewhere between 75-80 dB minimum.
Thanks, just weighing up options ... the SP20s I have are so configurable in terms of energy use and sound, but the S7 sure beats the power usage per GH ratio hands down. Might wait until S7s are out in the wild and people report back.

Is there any any news on the DB rating of the S7? ... just wondering how loud it might be ... sorry if I missed that Bitmain gave an idea on this.

The website was unstable for 7 minutes today.
Now that's what I call exact details ... nice one Doc. On other news ... looks like we're paying for a run of good luck, all will come good over time as usual.

BTC Guild will be shutting down its mining servers on June 30th, 2015 at 23:59 UTC.
Eleuthria, understand your decision, a real shame to see the pool close ... as others have said ... thank you for your service to the BTC community over the years. The clock is ticking quicker ... home and smaller miners ... R.I.P. Unfortunately centralization is happening
|
|
|
We are working on that too.
If your miners are hashing, then all shares are being paid for too.
Thanks for the update ... hashing BTC they are. Good luck in sorting your problems out.

Our stratum servers are running normally. We are working with full team to resolve the issue regarding web frontend.
Stratum servers are now offline as well My miners haven't moved over to a backup pool, so hoping the hashes are still earning on Nicehash ...

I'm sure there are plenty of people that have been ripped off by them. SpondooliesTech does NOT honor their warranty and ships DOA SP20s.
I've not seen any rip-off claims against Spondoolies ... they proved themselves as one of the good guys ... coming from nowhere to a 'standard'. Sure gave me and many, many others a great and responsive service ... shame we probably won't see any more home miners produced by them.
|
|
|
Wondering if they will do home miner with it!? Probably not I'm REALLY hoping they don't offer another home miner, enough people have been badly burnt by these bastards. True they might be burning quite a few mined BTC on legal bills ... they spent the proceeds of previous home miner sales making the death star dator hall. Go die KNC ... and then investors might realize what a mistake they made.

That is the nice thing about having sd card option on reset's. Really wish all miners had the sd slot on controllers.
Yep, the SD card slot has saved me a few times with various Sponds miners over the months ... shame it looks like we won't any more to play with in the future, but the SP20s I have (being so configurable) still mine away ... albeit small beer money earnings right now.

kano ... jonnybravo0311 ... you just confirmed a thought I had a while back ... thanks

I was surfing around the site Kano ckpool site, checking out the new stuff Kano is always adding, and when I clicked on the BTCa link on the payments page I was greeted with this: Any idea why that warning appears? I doubt that Kano is trying to double spend here... I've seen that before, just ignore ... no double spends here for sure. Has showed up a few times when I look on blockchain.info.

I restarted ckdb 15 minutes ago with some updates to allow adjusting a payout. I've done the adjustment, so you should see it's all now 0.5045% higher for the block 356299 rewards - ready for when it comes due.
Confirmed, thanks Kano + CK, your pool and never ending work is appreciated.

A 0.080 CDF block ... nice ... only 3hrs until it popped ... with confirms Not seen a bright green label since 23rd April.

Indeed - and I'm the one who spends most of the day looking at it * kano restarts the pool Yeah, as a pool op that must be tough at times (also for miners on the pool) ... but we all know luck% might look mighty different in a couple of weeks, averages will come good and settle down ... just a pain in the *ass whilst we wait ...

Pool speed ramped up nicely right now (3,219.42THs as I write) ... bitclub thanks for the extra power ... (and others I'm sure) let's pop a block

We probably already knew it .. but the end of home mining with new Spondoolies gear has now been officially confirmed by something I didn't see coming.
Can't blame them, business is business ...

59.06% for the last 5, let's get 1 or 2 more quick ones!
Yeah ... Luck% average (last 5 or 10 blocks) doesn't look great right now, but 102.5% overall ... It's just the BTC Gods having a little fun with the pool
