You covered alot of "where to find info", and that is great. Especially, the part about FB groups, too many trolls, Fudsters&FOMO's, and "PM me" scammers. However, I would like to add a very important aspect of getting involved with the Community: Be Helpful. The post is definitely written in a Helpful way, and geared towards positivity, which is a great foundation for a flourishing community.
In this forum, if we look past all of the signature spamming shite posters, we find a core group of Helpful people, who put in years of their lives building our community. Granted, some of them are rough around the edges, from dealing with spammers and the "Get Rich Quick" noobies. Nonetheless, they are very knowledgeable, and are trying to protect what they've worked so hard to build: Our Community.
Personally, I try to help someone in our community everyday, as many have helped me at one time. If someone truly wants to be a member of our community, the should start out on a good, positive stride, showing they are willing to put in the effort to keep our community strong, and trustworthy. After all, if WE want the "old world" to lower their guard, and accept us, we must prove our community isn't a bunch of low life scamming douchebags, but Helpful, Trustful and Civil with one another.
Great job, on taking the time, to put some effort into participating in a Community you clearly are apart of!!! Hopefully people just beginning their journey, will take your advice, and use it towards reinforcing our foundations.

In terms of reliability, does the Antminer T9 require less repairs than the S9?
I bought 2 used T9's, from a Colocation here at the forum, and I've had Zero issues. Temporarily, they're running in my garage. The day time temps reach between 80°f to 90°f, and the T9's run between 60°c and 78°c at a steady ~11.5TH/s. Everything about them has been good for the ~2 months I've been using them. What is your voltage setting? Stock. Nothing has been changed.

Wow, will this drop ever end. I think break-even on an S9 is now electric under $0.12 per kWh. If your electric is any more than that, may as well just buy BTC.
At my current hashrate, I need ~16 payouts to cover my electric. So, if I shutdown and buy BTC, I'll miss out on anything above ~16. Personally, I'll keep pushing in the red. My situation allows me too. Also, last year on this day at $2,408 and dropping, everyone was in a panic, and the prediction was, Get out while you can!!! Same here, I can run in the red for awhile...not worried about current prices. BTCBTCBTCAnyone who's a long term miner, that doesn't have a "farm" electric bill, shouldn't worry about this price fluctuation. Nothing to see here......Mine on!!!

Well lets clear some things up here about asicboost (AB). AB has nothing to do with payments. AB has nothing to do with poolside stats/UI/etc. AB has nothing to do with how much or little you have touched a 'stock' pool's code AB is all about stratum (ie. getwork, getblocktemplate, submitblock, etc. )
-CK can (and please do) over complicate my answers with more in-depth analysis/coding.
Look at CK's git commit if you want to see exactly what was all involved in his adding AB..
So, adding code to a pool, has nothing to do with poolside??? If said code, interrupts normal operation causing pool downtime, that has nothing to do with payments??? Hmmmm.....I can see you are totally correct.

bitminter did it in under a week more like 2 days.
and bitminter lets it mine NMC
There is one major aspect of everyone's assumptions, about Kano's coding time for asicboost, that everyone is leaving out. Kano is not running "stock" on poolside. From what I understand, and most people that have been around here long enough, Kano has spent tons of time improving the code his pool runs on. Personally, I've never coded for a Bitcoin Mining Pool, but I can imagine it is not something to take lightly, after all, people's payouts are at stake here. I do know enough about coding to understand, Triple Checking the work, and Testing it before calling it good. So, it's easy to say, so and so did it in X-amount of time, if they are running the "stock" coding. I would believe that every "stock" item in the code thats been changed, has to also be changed in the asicboost code, to be compatible with the "non-stock" code. The amount of time to do this, is dependent on, how much has to be adapted. If a pool operator has changed very little, it would take less time, and vise/versa.

gee... We had a real quick block, but right now it seems we have a hard as a diamond again... Is it me, or are we having bad luck lately? last week only 3 blocks... We experienced these very same trends last month, and we STILL did better than the month before that. Everything always appears to be at its worst, when the price is on a downtrend. Goodluck to us ALL!!!

over 300 percent block out there waiting to be cracked. Let's get this one...haha
Nah, we can let your other pool have that one. I believe he was referring to the network block, not the pool. (I could be wrong) I'd be all-in for a 300% network block...lots of transactions. Nope. I am talking about the pool. Just Joshin with him about it!!! Ha!!! Playful banter, no harm no foul.

Meh. The real ones at fault are Halong & company. It is not the fault of their customers that Halong took such a disreputable approach to their marketing. Folks should not have to pour through the thousands of posts here to discover that the T1 only works with AB pools but that is exactly the problem that Halong created by not telling anyone about it in their advertising. To Halong it is just Someone Else's Problem.
I couldn't agree with this more!!! To add salt to the wound, this "unofficial" thread started in the speculation board. Halongmining has never even bothered to create a new thread, in support of their own product. Also, concerning AsicBoost: This thread began with this link to a video of the Dragonmint: In the video the Dragonmint is clearly achieving the advertised rate of 16TH/s. However, months later, it's announced that the Dragonmint, can only achieve these specifications using asicboost. How did that miner operate at that specification, if Halongmining had not yet acquired the Patent for AsicBoost, and what the hell pool was supporting it??? According to the official announcement by Halongmining and Slushpool, Slushpool was the first to support Asicboost, many, many months after that video was made. So connect the dots on those shenanigans. Halongmining was using AsicBoost BEFORE they had the patent, and Slushpool may have been using the code to support it. Or, is it all, just a Corporate Coincidence???

Changing the subject slightly--lots of thoughts left unmentioned here, but my main intention is about benefiting the pool and our wallets now and in the future...
?: Keep running previous generation miners that currently operate at a loss?
Pros: +They'll never generate more BTC than they do right now +The BTC price could then go up making it worth running them at a loss for a while
Cons: -Selling it would probably result in more money than they will profit over the rest of their lives -Buying BTC instead of electricity would profit more than running the miner
Thoughts?
Personally, around 6k is my break even point, and I'll mine at a loss if I need to. I do plan on investing in newer equipment, as it becomes available. Just buying the BTC outright can be tricky, with the drastic price fluctuations we've seen over the weekend. Also, at this price, it's the equivalent of ~16 blocks for me, so I could potentially make more running my equipment. I've already disconnected my less than Profitable equipment, and I'll probably run it in the winter for heat.

I don't think I have the obligation of reading the whole forum or to point out every breaking of the law just because I want to know why the owner of this pool is publishing things like: stupid person or scammer company or joke of a service. I was just passing by made some questions, then I got moderation warning and finally I got moderated...
Anyway... Giving you that the other pool have slander kanopool in the past (even I haven't checked/verified). Have Halong insulted Kano saying he is an scammer? Do the miners in that other pool also insulted Kano saying that he is stupid?
If you want these questions answered, you're going to have to be "just passing by" the threads and see for yourself. Otherwise, you seem to be singling out 1 person. That's called profiling, or stalking, according to the "law". Also, there is an entire thread, where people are calling Halongmining's business practices a scam. You can go look, but you probably won't. You are setting your sights on 1 individual specifically. Good day.

I appreciate your advises.
About hunting in the prey's den I need to say that and the end everyone needs to follow the law. I think to insult people, tagging them as stupids and other issues that I have been pointing out goes into categories of: defamation, libel, slander, aspersion... If you add the moderation issue, I mean, not letting the affected people to defend themselves, then we have here a very dangerous cocktail. Still... thank you for your advise.
You are welcome. However, the "law" here is policed by moderators, and is very different than any one country's mandated laws. There are many comments in "that other pool" about Kano, that could be deemed derogatory, but you are not there standing in defense for the "law". Why??? There are literally threads slandering Kano, but the Moderators don't delete them. Why??? Have You reported those threads because they are defamation of Kano's character??? Probably not. Why???
