Ethereum is one of the few crypto currencies that do actually have a purpose and a reason. That's why I strongly believe that it has a bright future and will totally prosper. As it's not like a lot of other currencies that exist just for trading BUT it actually has a use. I'm of course talking about the amazing smart contract system that it introduced. It literally has so much to offer. But the time hasn't come yet. In my opinion, it's totally undervalued right now and its price should be way more than it is. It's a great unique currency with low transaction fees and extremely quick network speed (talking about the time until a transaction gets confirmed) when compared with many rivals or potential competitors. The price you see right now is nothing. It's just a reflection of the increase of the price of bitcoins. In fact, the price of ether right now is exactly the same as it was a month ago (except for a small pump that lasted few days.) You can check coinmarketcap. I expect the true surging in price to happen after the switch to PoS as this would slow down the continues selling by the miners.

I can't see anything new or that deserves calling it names or pointing out someone who coined the term or whatever. lol This is basically the human nature. When something different happens we look for answers and reasons. Whenever the price of bitcoins goes up especially if it goes up by a huge amount like what happened during last month, people start looking for reasons searching here and there. These spikes in price lead to more articles created talking about bitcoins and crypto in general. Since money is what everyone is attracted to, more new people start hearing and reading about btc. So the first thing they do is search the internet what that this is. Plus this is not a weird thing. The exact same thing happens let's say if the gold price spikes or drops for example. But it's not a cycle it's a result of the high price.

Did you ever think banks are just gonna give up easily and lose control on the economy easily ? Not gonna happen. In fact, you haven't seen anything yet. This is just a start. I If they decide to start a real war against crypto, things will get difficult and it would actually affect the demand in bitcoin (not sure how big this would be). I'm not talking about now or even next year, but generally as time goes by. They won't give up easily. Well, you've got two options. 1-Basically the first is selling your ether for bitcoins using any of the popular exchanges (but I prefer poloniex as they have a 0.0001 btc withdrawal fee only) and then selling your btc for cash. You can look on localbitcoins.com for people in your area that are willing to buy them. I'd do it personally using cash in hand. I guess it's easier that way. OR maybe try a bank transfer or something. 2- Is selling it directly for USD on an exchange that supports withdrawing directly to your bank account. I think Bitsamp and Coinbase support that but I'm not sure. You need to make your research before attempting to deposit money anywhere. 3- Sell it for btc and hold onto it for the future . The price went from $4000 to $10000 in one year. What will happen in the coming years ? It's only the beginning.

That doesn't seem like a good idea to run away just when it hits 10k. If you plan to sell, do it now. The price of $10,000 has a huge psychological barrier that can actually take a lot of time till it's passed. This is almost the exact same situation we had at $5000. Once it goes higher than $10,000 there's no going back. That'll become the new base price that we look down at. I'm not saying that it's gonna happen soon or anything. All I can tell you that we can experience dips and even acute dips till we reach 10k. And that'd be the best time to buy back in with all you can. Don't get scared like me when the price dropped to 6k. I didn't buy as I thought that the "pump" is over. But in less than 2 days it proved me wrong and I regretted it of course. I just bought some more btc with the last $500 I have on me. I'm almost 100% sure that btc will hit 15k during 2018 if not more.

They can't ban BITCOINS itself as it's not under the control of any individuals or organizations BUT they can actually make using or owning crypto currencies a felony which leads to fines/jail or whatever. If we just put a scenario that country "X" decided to make owning and using crypto illegal, how are they gonna force this ? They can't keep on tracking each and every address. We can make millions of one-time use addresses on different wallets with different identifiers and it'd be impossible to link them together (if done the right way). This means it'd take so much time just to track one person's transactions. Which basically means applying such things on a large scale (making it a law) is practically impossible and would need an uncountable number of human resources. I think the status right now is that governments don't really know what to do. They surely are aware of the existence of bitcoins. It's no longer the small thing on the side that passes unnoticed. But they still have no idea what to say or do about it as it's something that's totally out of their hands. On one side, they don't want people to evade taxes and don't want their printed currency to be obsolete and at the other side they can't just reject it. I guess they're just waiting to see how things will turn out. It's been clear to everyone since it reached 8k that it will reach $10000 before the new year. With this crazy boosts in price in such a small duration, I think it's safe to say that the price per bitcoin will surely surpass $15,000 during 2018. This makes me totally regret selling at $7400 when I thought that it was the highest it will ever be in a long period of time. It took me only days to realize that I was totally wrong but even when it dipped back to 6k, I didn't buy as I thought that it was the end of the "pump". Grrr. I'm so mad at myself right now. At least I still haven't sold some. I've decided not to sell btc ever again. At least not before the end of 2018 (or maybe even never). I am young (20) so don't have any responsibilities atm. I should use this in the best way and save every dollar I earn and buy crypto with it. If I just had a little more confidence and left just $200 or something as btc when I first came to know it (which was in 2015), that 200 could've been $6,596 by today's prices

I can't understand till now why a lot of people keep saying that its price will actually drop. Seeing a lot of members against Ethereum turning PoS is totally understandable as it's one of the main coins mined by gpu mining rigs. But let's consider ETH on its own (technically). In my opinion, what keeps holding the price of ethereum in a specific range for a long period of time (it hasn't gone higher than $300 since June) IS actually the miners. They're constantly selling the coins they mine. Now a lot of people might argue with me regarding this specific point. Well, during the past few 5 months, the demand for Ether has been going uphill. A lot of ICOs were created and succeeded (of course some didn't but that's not the point). This means that more and more people were buying ethereum. Yet, we didn't see any rise in ether's price. IT STAYED IN THE SAME LOCKED RANGE. But what happened ? The network's hashrate skyrocketted. So basically my theory is that miners cancelled out the demand so the price remained the same. I suppose when it goes pos, selling would stop which should lead to a price increase.This is my personal opinion and I'm by no means a professional in speculation so don't take them literally and do your own thinking.
