@CFB A few questions
How exactly is it known who gets the next block? are the coins unique? what exactly makes your account different from another one with the same amount in terms of mining?
Is NXT messaging implemented yet?
Does the open marketplace have an estimated date for when it will be released?
thanks

This is the FAIR distribution (100% proof of stake) that the Nxt folks are so proud of: 170486123 <--- 170 million Nxt
Looks like 9 guys have a lot of stake.
170 mega account didn't belong to anyone, it was used for unclaimed coins, they were being given to their owners till 3 January. This is a real and fair Nxt distribution, do not listen to his liar. Your numbers are crap. 41% of BTC are unmined and don't belong to anyone. All I can say is I hate you...

This doesn't make any sense. It is a redundant coin and bitcoin is eons more stable than a junky impossible to liquidate clonecoin. If the feature of it having a volatile price is a benefit since it goes with the name, then the casinos wont want it because they are trying to make profit, and players wont have it because gambling on the price of a coin can be done with everyone of the other 80 cryptocoins, some of which already have a bunch of high-quality casinos right now.
Also, your thread title is misspelled. I don't like being the grammar police, but if it's the title, it's kinda distracting.

This coin is exactly like nxt, but it's unique because I'm not charging anything for it (until page 3 that is...) Just post interested and you'll get 1000 noxt on release! send BTC to 1JoqAahn5ch2KBA5NNcBmSs9DGYKKvEtb8 if you posted after page 3 for 10,000,000 NOXT per BTC! We also accept NXT (which is of course an inferior version of our coin) keep in mind that you can only send a max of 1 BTC to the address.
Why should you get money for the NOXT? Cause I was so smart to come up with idea and had to spend 45 minutes to rewrite the NXT code! What stops me from signing up with multiple Bitcointalk accounts? I mean, that would be wrong, who would do something like that to get money with no repercussions on the internet? I mean come on. You said the limit is 1 BTC per person? why? I don't want people hoarding my currency of tomorrow. so Don't send it from multiple addresses so I Don't get more money. Will you update the coin? As often is I can decompile the NXT code!
We can change the world by PUBLICLY releasing this coin FAIRLY on a website 0.001% of people go to. It's the currency of tomorrow!!

hey cfb i had this idea. i wont claim that its a good idea. but i think its atleast interesting enough to be worth sharing.
What if, rather than being associated with a single public key, entries in the accounting ledger were associated with 2 public keys. One could be used to sign transactions and one could be used to sign blocks. This division would add a lot of protection from theft for node operators. That way only the block signing key would need to be left unlocked meaning that leaving your account unlocked would entail no extra risk of theft. It would help us move towards a point where there is no cost associated with forging so node operators would be more intentioned to forge all of the time even if their chances of forging a block were slim. As it stands right now, someone who is not likely to forge more than one block per year may decide its not worth the risk to leave his client unlocked, where as if this idea were implemented than there would be no risk of theft and so he would have no reason not to leave it unlocked.
perhaps you could also pass it on to jean luc and bcnext just for the sake of giving them something interesting to think about that may lead to similar but better ideas.
I completely agree with this. I have 8,000,000 NXT i'm too scared to leave up on a computer....

I Made a snappy USB tool for NXT. was gonna buy a few hundred branded pendrives and load them with this: https://mega.co.nz/#!01kHXJQL!GMgINU-M7Ol_uRdqFe1FRgX6ENwW_RMbb-aPT2IXocQ Anyone have feedback? contributions to the files?

I don't know why some peoples are worried about their coins. I know funds are stucked in escrow and some users are getting problems but it's not like he will disappear with your money. Don't forget he also holds a big amount of BTC for forum. So if theymos is not worried, why you guys are?
Money now is worth more than money later

I have a suggestion for nxt (idk if it has been suggested or not) an option for a warning prompt when sending nxt to an address that has never been used on the network so far.
|
|
|
A suggestion I had for a 100% POS coin is to simply send all bitcoins to a provably unowned address to "destroy" them. this effectively spreads out the starting amount for the coin while leaving no financial gain for the creator to scam you. If the creator wants to get rewarded for his work, he can put in money like everyone else...

I wish there was some way to do some sort of pooled forging with my coins. I have a lot and dont mind parting with the coins i forge, but idk if there's a way to do that.
|
|
|
I have a great idea for these IPO things.
why not have a provably unowned btc address and have people send it to that, something like 1BitcoinEaterAddressDontSendf59kuE
It will distribute the coins without having any way to scam people. If th makers of the coin want to make money, they can put their money where their mouth is.

I think the risk reward for this is extremely lopsided. you might get lucky to get 200 nxt a day with 10 million nxt, and 10 million NXT is an awful lot of nxt to trust someone with...
If you have 10 millions you do not need a pool That's not the point. I'm saying if I had $100 of nxt and you (some anonymous forum user) are basically are saying you'll give me 1 cent a week to borrow it, I wouldn't take you up on the offer...

Does BCNext even work on this project anymore? Or did he already bought himself an island and retired? What kind of project leader suddenly goes silent and abandons his creation like this? I think he just communicates via cfb cause he wants to be more private. since these are all just forum names, i dont know what difference it makes in the end.

I have to limit my reading on this forum, my paranoia is just under "don't trust the doctors."

Aw, this is so clearly a parody, he doesn't deserve neg trust
Do you only take btc? do second gen currencies get 2x the amount invested??? how about 3rd gen?

2 things
1: from my home computer, I don't see a box to enter a passphrase when sending nxt, so I always get wrong passphrase error when sending...
2. If I want to make an account on an offline computer, what stops someone from colliding the account? if an account is the last 15 digits of a long public key ( as i currently understand it...) and I make an account on an offline computer that ends with key 12345 and send it to that account, what stops someone from making an account that ends with 12345 that has a different passphrase, and stealing my nxt?
its not when ends, its what begins. but the answer is nothing. so dont do that. send 1 next to yourself from that account, you'll have to burn 1NXT to do so, but then you lock that account into the blockchain I humbly suggest the option of sending coins to long public keys then for safe offline storage... also, please help me with my sending coins issue
|
|
|
well, to my understanding, it's about 15 digits, which is in the realm of possibility
