Not visible team work in terms of marketing! Sad

Yes I think it would be important to establish the legitimacy of the blockchain by getting real users on board. The technology is all good, the increase of the coin supply lead to a significant price decrease, this was expected. But what gives a blockchain its value is not the technology or the dedication of the team behind it, but the size of the group of people that believes in the consensus encoded by the blockchain. Only by giving real users a real advantage from using this coin and establishing legitimacy we can increase the value of the blockchain, which ensures ongoing development.

Hello people, please remember that you can get FREE titcoins by joining our community chat on Reddit!

See this post for more info: https://www.reddit.com/r/showmytitcoin/comments/d24w6w/get_some_free_titcoins_in_our_community_chat/

Most of the activity is happening on Reddit and we have already introduced many girls to the world of cryptocurrencies.  Smiley  Now it's time for us to let Titcoin become known to the wider porn scene and make it the #1 tipping method for amateur porn!  Cool  What we need are active community members who are interested in contributing and spreading the word.  Wink
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Titcoin [TIT] - The cryptocurrency for adults! on: September 17, 2019, 06:08:24 PM
Small update: The website has been migrated to https://titcoin.github.io/

The reason is that the previous domain titcoin.website is owned by a former community member who left the project. Recently, the DNS record was changed to a different server than the Github Pages server that was used before. This does not come completely unexpected, now we will finally migrate to a new domain that will hopefully be owned by a more dedicated community member.  Wink

Feel free to setup domain forwardings to https://titcoin.github.io/Smiley  If one of those forwardings at some point becomes the established domain within the community, I can setup Github Pages to issue SSL certificates for it so it becomes "seamless".

84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Wisp [WISP] - Anonymous cryptocurrency project - Spectrecoin fork on: August 30, 2019, 10:26:15 AM
Hello people,

I know that there hasn't been much activity in the project lately, and unfortunately my Discord account has been restricted now. I have been using Tor for all crypto related stuff for years, and suddenly Discord decided that they need to verify my phone number to let me use my account, which would of course break the anonymity. So unfortunately I can not use Discord any more. This is not the first time Discord has been hostile against Tor users.

Since Wisp is all about anonymity and decentralization, using a chat site that does not permit Tor usage is obviously pointless.  Wink  I would suggest that we move to Matrix / Riot.im, which is a decentralized group chat alternative to Discord! Matrix has a slightly higher entry barrier than Discord, but I'm sure we will figure it out. Since it is decentralized, blocking Tor is not feasible on the Matrix network and it also fits much better to the anarchistic and authority-free nature of the Wisp project (or what is still left of it).

If anyone here is already using Matrix, feel free to create a channel and post it here! Otherwise I will get familiar with Matrix and post the join link here soon.

Thanks to everyone who is still interested in Wisp (hello Bitman86 ^^)

Best regards, Gandalf86

Not Discord limited your account. The server owner did.

As you can see here: https://support.discordapp.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001987272-Verified-Server-Moderation-Guidelines

Under Verification Levels, Content Filtering & 2FA section.

Thanks for the input, but in this case actually Discord limited my account. I also had my own Discord server where I was the owner (for a different cryptocurrency). This is the screen that I am getting when logging in: https://i.postimg.cc/wjB6RK0D/discord-verification.png

I messaged Discord support but they said that there is no way to continue using my account without verifying my phone number.  Sad Other users had similar problems, see this thread for example: https://www.reddit.com/r/discordapp/comments/6xel7b/discord_is_the_worst_forced_phone_verification/

Apparently this problem is common among users who are using Tor or VPNs. So basically it is discriminating users who care about privacy. Absolutely unacceptable.

Thanks for offering your help once again my friend!  Smiley

Always a pity ...

Privacy concerns are always an issue when coming into the public arena with such things as Crypto in general. Reddit has never been an area I have used much at all, but will see how this all goes on our end. Discord is governed by the same regulations that Govern almost all other entities in this space, so it has to do what it has to do I suppose. I don't mind sending my number at all, especially because here in Australia, you can just buy a 2AUD SIM and register the number attached to the SIM itself. Sepnding 60AUD a year to keep it alive is not much of a bother either, so if you would like us at CWI to help, it would be our pleasure mate.

Thanks for the offer, but right now I think I will simply stay away from Discord. From a market perspective it is much better to move to platforms that are more privacy-friendly than working around the limitations of traditional platforms.

As for educating the people, whether amateur or professional alike, we are open to help in various ways as well. Reddit, Discord or otherwise, ALL areas of society need to grasp the Crypto functionality, and we are always happy to help in that area.

Awesome! We could definitely use more manpower and brainpower on Reddit and on social media. Current challenges are:

  • Encouraging all people in our subreddit to start using the wallet and receive some free coins. For most, cryptocurrencies are an alien concept that just sounds weird and complicated, so being able to express the advantages of what we are doing in very simple terms is a much needed skill.
  • Giving technical support for crypto newcomers who are trying out the wallet.
  • Inviting more people from the amateur porn scene to join our movement.
  • Working on the vision of Titcoin in such a way that it is coherent and easy to understand.
  • Raising awareness in the crypto scene on different platforms, as well as getting some media coverage in general. This could include being active on crypto subreddits as well as starting a new Twitter account for example.

In addition to that, having a mobile wallet would be nice so finding someone who is willing to create a mobile wallet for Titcoin would help a lot.

We also have TIT on our Development Mine for testing, but have not opened that to the public. Maybe we should to see if TIT mining is workable. If so, we can move that from Dev Mine to the full production Chrysolite Mine in a very short space of time. We need SHA256 miners to test the coin functionality on the Dev Mine for the time being, so we are open to chat to those that want to test this with us.

Thanks for your support. SHA256 miners please get in contact with him. ^^

Hello guys,

unfortunately Discord has restricted my Discord account because they want to force me to give my phone number to them. Since knowing somebody's mobile phone number is a serious privacy invasion, this is of course unacceptable to me, so I will stop using Discord. I think this is very unfortunate because I enjoyed using this site, however privacy is more important to me and creating alternative Discord accounts only delays the problem at the cost of wasting time. Also as a matter of principle I would not like to force other people to give up their privacy by running our main chat on a platform that treats its users this way.

Titcoin is not your usual crypto project and thus we are not dependent on the usual crypto community sites (i.e. Discord). Instead of sitting in an echo chamber of pointless speculation, the largest part of our community consists of actual users who never had anything to do with cryptocurrencies before. The main action for Titcoin is currently going on on Reddit! We already have over 2500 users over there. See https://www.reddit.com/r/showmytitcoin/

Reddit is a privacy friendly site that does not even require an email address on sign-up. There is also a group chat, which can be joined via this link:
https://www.reddit.com/chat/r/showmytitcoin/channel/30327557_b06ca1f44df829a8136fb306803672da19fc0870
This Reddit community chat will become the defacto standard chat for Titcoin for the time being.

Alternatively you can also join our Telegram channels which can be reached via https://t.me/titcoin1 and https://t.me/titcoin_t, respectively, and are managed by our community member mateable. (But they also require a phone number so I'm not on those channels)

I will probably remove the Discord invite from the ANN and homepage in the not too far future in order to not mislead new users into dead places. Please check into our new Reddit chat and say hello, and start tipping our female community members with Titcoin immediately!  Smiley

Best regards, Gandalf86

Hey guys,

just wanted to let you all know that unfortunately Discord has restricted my Discord account because they want to force me to give my phone number to them. Since knowing somebody's mobile phone number is a serious privacy invasion, this is of course unacceptable to me. Therefore I will ditch Discord and look for privacy-respecting alternatives to Discord such as Matrix / Riot.im.

I think this is very unfortunate because I enjoyed using Discord, however privacy is more important to me and creating alternative accounts on the same site only delays the problem at the cost of wasting time. Also as a matter of principle I would not like to encourage other people to give up their privacy by being active on a platform that treats its users this way.

If any of you here are using Matrix, feel free to get in contact with me so we can set up an Espers chat room on Matrix maybe!  Smiley  I can also be contacted via my Mastodon account on Gab, see the link in my signature.

89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SPECTRECOIN | Anonymous | Stealth-Staking | Tor | Ring Signatures on: August 19, 2019, 07:53:08 PM
I think that we are still building the foundations we need to stand on if we are to survive into to future. There is no point in having lofty goals if you can't deliver. We and most other crypto projects have such a limited reach and I am sure that 99.9% of the population has never even heard of Spectrecoin or even Monero. Most people don't read Bitcointalk, Discord or watch the Twitter or read the newsletters. I think we need to secure funding, retain good developers and then marketing needs to happen.

In any case, in order to get used as payment, we need to get listed on major exchanges and do that we need trade volume but nobody is trading. Then there are all the AML / KYC regulations, not so much for us, but for any legit business that would work with us.

It's all well and good to say that we want to be this and that, but we also need a realistic way to get there.

Yes you have a very professional approach, which is good! But I think you are underestimating the potential of Spectrecoin in its current form. Yes having a mobile wallet etc. would be nice, but XSPEC is technically very strong already! Proof of anonymous stake has been a major milestone in the development of cryptocurrency technology.

But still, what is giving a blockchain its value is not the technology (because technology can be copied, as it has happened in numerous cases), but having a strong community of actual users! So driving forward acceptance should be a major priority at any point in development, but especially now after PoAS has been implemented I think we shouldn't be afraid to show our coin to other people and invite them to use it.

The point when Spectrecoin will actually give value to the world is when it starts giving people the ability to make anonymous payments in an environment-friendly way (PoS). That's a great foundation for marketing and PR activities, everyone likes environment-friendly things nowadays.  Cheesy  And in the same way I think that most people will like Spectrecoin in its current form, as soon as they get the opportunity to learn about it.

The usability might not be perfect yet, but things never get perfect. Perfectionism often gets in the way of making progress, and what helps is to realize that you will never be perfect and keep pushing forward with something that is "good enough" to make a difference.  Smiley
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SPECTRECOIN | Anonymous | Stealth-Staking | Tor | Ring Signatures on: August 16, 2019, 09:39:00 AM
I know that the majority of the XSPEC team doesn't want me to participate, but what this coin is lacking right now is a greater vision. Technology is not everything, you need a public plan on how to receive large-scale adoption in the future. And you need big goals to stimulate investments. The current roadmap is very realistic but it doesn't really carry the fire necessary to make people invest in it.

In the very beginning such a "big goal" was to be adopted for remittances and to build a digital version of the Hawala system. Maybe the time has passed on that but this is the scale that a coin should aim for, in order to motivate people to place a bet on it, make an investment or to stay invested even in bear markets. So basically we need to find a position in the market that we want Spectrecoin to fill. Should it become the main currency used in Darknet markets? Maybe it could become the defacto currency used for buying anonymous services (VPN, anonymous root servers etc.) on the Internet? That might be realistic and is a good goal to work towards. So when the goal is fixed then you can start getting in contact with VPN providers, build partnerships etc.... Just an idea.  Wink

And for the marketing vocabulary I would suggest to incorporate the word "lightweight", as it represents the advantage that PoS has over anonymous PoW coins on an emotionally accessible level.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Titcoin [TIT] - The cryptocurrency for adults! on: August 07, 2019, 06:16:35 PM
Hello everyone,

we have a lot of new posts in our subreddit "Show My Titcoin" (https://www.reddit.com/r/showmytitcoin/) right now. Many girls are interested in Titcoin, and honestly it is a bit overwhelming!  Shocked

What we need right now are active community members, people who understand how cryptocurrencies work and who can explain to the girls how all of this works! And who help them to install the wallet and receive their first coins. Our goal is to tip girls who upload nudes / amateur porn in order to financially support them, and to grow our community and build up an active user base. This will be to everyone's advantage, including the current Titcoin holders!!  Wink

I want you all to understand that this is a huge potential market. Many amateur porn performers do not know anything about cryptocurrencies, so this is our opportunity to introduce them to the world of crypto. I have also explained the wider perspective of this is on the homepage (https://titcoin.website). In a wider sense, it means that we are using pornography to introduce Bitcoin technology (in the form of Titcoin) to a wider audience than the currently very narrow tech/investing community.

Join our Discord (https://discordapp.com/invite/PADaP7s) and say hello, there is no registration necessary. See you there! Wink

Best regards, Gandalf86
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Titcoin [TIT] - The cryptocurrency for adults! - GIVEAWAY on: July 27, 2019, 07:30:55 AM
hi there!
Titcoin sounds nice, and subreddit is quite hot (joined).
Do u have any plans for integration with pornhub or any other famous adult resource? Paying premium membership with Titcoin can be interesting for them.

Sure! Integrations with popular sites would be nice. Unfortunately I think as long as we have low trading volume and only a few active members they will not consider adding a micro-cap coin like Titcoin to their payment methods. And they shouldn't because at the current mining difficulty we can not offer the necessary security for such use cases.

My plan is to build a community from the ground, where people tip each other and try to grow the community together, by inviting more people from the amateur porn scene (esp. girls) to join us and start accepting donations with Titcoin. That way we can make steady progress. Pornhub integration will probably not be on the screen until we have at least 10,000 active members or so.  Wink  Girls in the "Pornhub Community" can also start accepting Titcoin by putting their address in the comments so we can have a smooth and incremental transition.

What is vital for this to work is that users who would like to see Titcoin become accepted more widely help reaching out to new people from the Pornhub or Reddit community and explain to them what advantages Titcoin could have for them (e.g. receiving more donations), and how they can get started accepting TIT.  Smiley  The adoption barrier is the most important problem that we have to overcome.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Titcoin [TIT] - The cryptocurrency for adults! - GIVEAWAY on: July 16, 2019, 07:31:25 AM
Remember that  now you can exchange our favorite currency TIT in Nova Exchange

https://novaexchange.com/market/BTC_TIT/
https://novaexchange.com/market/DOGE_TIT/

Happy trade !!   Smiley

Thanks, everyone should switch from Yobit to Nova IMO.  Smiley

Can't they just take over this thread now? Same similar name.

I guess you are talking about the TittieCoin developers ... No, nobody can take over this thread except for the Bitcointalk administrator. One of the good things of Bitcointalk is that it is relatively neutral about altcoin affairs. Generally coins can even have multiple "ANN" threads made by different people, so even if it would be the same coin it would work.  Wink

Right now I'm a bit busy IRL and occasionally trying to build up a network of followers on Mastodon / the fediverse. (https://humblr.social/@titcoin) My possibilities as a single person are limited though, so what we need are community members who like the idea of having a cryptocurrency for (amateur) porn and would like to join and help the community growing.  Cool

All the info is on the website: https://titcoin.website/  Smiley
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SPECTRECOIN | Anonymous | Stealth-Staking | Tor | Ring Signatures on: July 11, 2019, 05:31:40 PM
Agreed.

Psssst -- there's an arbitrage opportunity by way of Bisq over the next few hours. Wink  (I don't have Discord set up right now or I would have posted this message there instead).

This message will self-destruct
when someone has sold me XSPEC at the premium I'm prepared to buy at there (or this may be revisited over the next few days if noone sees and subsequently acts on this message).  The aforesaid someone can then turn around and buy from Livecoin or wherever and make a profit if he or she so wishes.  Let's make a deal -- this is win-win stuff here folks.

Nice! Creating more volume on Bisq is a really good idea indeed, so thanks for your initiative. I hope somebody will make use of your offer.

I'm still not sure whether it would be possible to trade SPECTRE over Bisq, it would require to be able to prove anonymously that you have sent SPECTRE to a given address. The Spectre devs haven't commented on this yet.

The other problem of course is that unfortunately Bisq requires everybody to keep the application open or run Bisq on a dedicated device (Raspberry etc.) in order to keep one's trading offer alive, and that it requires manual action in order to execute the trade. For most users (including myself, lol) that's an inch too much effort for the benefit of using a decentralized exchange.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SPECTRECOIN | Anonymous | Stealth-Staking | Tor | Ring Signatures on: July 10, 2019, 05:41:36 AM
What happening with this coin ?

Not sure, honestly this coin is ridiculously undervalued right now. The introduction of PoAS should have given a huge price jump by an order of magnitude because it is just as innovative and private as other coins like, say, Zcash. Spectrecoin is basically Monero with Proof-of-Stake instead of PoW.

I hope that some whale will recognize the value of this coin.  Wink  Probably right now the price dump is just caused by noobs who are trying to time the Bitcoin market.

Of course, since Amsterdex closed down it would be nice to have a different exchange where SPECTRE can be traded, maybe that's a hint the XSPEC team could follow.  Smiley  Also when the mobile wallet gets released next year that should give another confidence boost because it is basically the implementation of the SpectreCash idea from years ago (having a coin that is as private as physical cash and can be used as a drop-in replacement by paying with your smartphone).

Hi all,

the website at https://titcoin.website/ has been updated and now has a stronger focus on the community aspect. I would like to make Titcoin a platform and a common hashtag (#titcoin) for the amateur porn community, so people can connect, talk with uploaders and tip them using Titcoin. The strategy to get there is to grow our community one person at a time.

We are currently looking for a mobile app developer, for people who are interested in contacting amateur porn creators on sites like Pornhub and for miners who are willing to mine Titcoin while the price is still low.  Wink  If you are one of these, please get in contact via Discord or PM!  Smiley

TITCoin has been listed in Enmanet Exchange:  https://enmanet.com/market/BTC-TIT  ! Happy Trading!

Charts will appear once 2 transactions are made!

Exchange: https://www.enmanet.com
Discord: https://discord.gg/qryFzJA

Thanks! I never heard of your exchange before. Before adding it to our public list of exchanges, could you maybe explain more about your site? How much volume do you have? Who are the owners? What jurisdiction is your exchange operating in? Have there been security audits etc... asking users to deposit coins to your site in order to trade requires trust, so personally I always prefer established, well-known exchanges over new ones.  Wink

It's nice to see that our Titcoin community on Reddit is growing quickly: https://www.reddit.com/r/showmytitcoin/ Take a look if you like tits, and tip them some TIT if you like what you see!  Cheesy

The documentation pages starting at https://titcoin.website/about.html have been simplified, maybe take a look there as well.  Smiley

The only thing we are lacking right now are miners. Even though we just passed the halving, mining Titcoin should be fairly easy right now even with moderate mining power.  Wink

Hello everyone,

I am happy to announce that we have gone past block 2,000,000 and successfully passed the 4th Titcoin halving! Smiley  This means that the block reward for miners lowers to 4.3125 TIT, which should motivate them to add more mining power and increase the security of the network. Happy halving everyone, let the next year be the most successful halving period for Titcoin, ever!  Cool

I have some problem with the wallet.
With the latest wallet of Ubuntu version, I can't open it.
It says: "execvp("tor", ...) failed: No such file or directory"
How can I fix it?

Code:
sudo apt-get install tor

See the runtime dependencies here: https://github.com/spectrecoin/documentation/wiki/Install-Ubuntu

Nice! I really recommend using Bisq because it gives control to the users. If it would be possible to trade SPECTRE over Bisq that would be really cool because it would fully "close the cycle". Unfortunately Bisq requires users to be able to prove that they have sent the coins to the buyer. Not sure if that would be possible with SPECTRE? That would be pretty cool indeed.  Cheesy
