Are there any mining pools for Espers? The one listed in Espers blog about mining is now longer available.

Wohooo, new website at https://espers.io/ by Arsonic!  Cool

Retweet: https://twitter.com/EspersCoin/status/949665947987709952

I am currently syncing to make use of the new wallet updates, let's hope that the previous mining/staking problems will be fixed now! Everything here seems to be progressing step by step. I really like that.

Hallo Dev, please apologize in advance, I want to ask why in this article, this project does not include the team or the name of the person who joined your project team? I think it's better to describe the name of the team because it has the greatest influence of a project. Or is your business an individual build?

Hi, the ANN is still a bit sparse on information, please look at the CoinWiki article linked there: http://coinwiki.info/en/SpectreCoin
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: December 20, 2017, 07:00:03 AM
I was mostly referring to an older laptop, though in general more RAM = better performance regardless of platform. With a RPi you should be fine; if you do have any performance issues you could easily use e.g. a USB key for some extra swap memory. I haven't tested an RPi with XSPEC specifically (I use an old laptop--I like the built in battery backup in case of power failure etc.), so I can't give you a 100% answer here. Perhaps others can give more guidance.

System requirements would also depend on if you see yourself ever wanting to stake other coins on the same setup; e.g., running several wallets simultaneously is of course more intensive than just one.

I can't thank you enough for the help you have given me over the last few days. I'm interested in the RPi route because I've wanted an excuse to mess around with one of those for awhile and I can always upgrade to other systems if I need more power.

I'll have to figure out what linux distro to use Gandalf recommended me raspian on slack but https://github.com/spectrecoin/spectre mentions Arch and Fedora. It's all foreign to me at this point, lots of researching to do.

1 GB should be enough for staking one wallet. Raspbian is basically Debian, it is also mentioned in the Github readme. Wink Raspbian is basically Debian optimized for ARM.

Has anybody here been trading on Bisq so far? What is the actual user experience? Comparable to Etherdelta? And is it operated with placeholder assets or truly decentralized?

It's in a quite early stage yet. But yeah it is truly decentralized, it's just a platform where two people can (virtually) meet to make a trade with each other, peer to peer.
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: December 19, 2017, 06:30:30 AM
False alarm guys my coins are still there had to click send one coin to get it to show really weird.

You experienced the "zero balance bug" Wink https://github.com/bitcoinx2/spectre/wiki/FAQ#6-my-balance-disappeared-from-my-wallet

It's one reason why jbg has built a new GUI for version 1.4.

Sweet thanks wondering what the staking rewards were Smiley

You can find all technical information here: http://coinwiki.info/en/SpectreCoin#Specifications

I hope it will get added to the ANN soon.

If your wallet is not syncing then replacing the binaries will not help.  Wink  You can come to Slack where we have a dedicated #support_client channel.

Also make sure to check out the FAQ if you are lacking connections to other nodes: https://github.com/bitcoinx2/spectre/wiki/FAQ#7-i-have-zero-connections

Hello everyone!
In think that i'm having the same issue

I'm staking and receiving rewards, but it seem to be other chain? My client is v0.8.6.9-Patch 0 Alpha

You can take a look at this guide to fix your Espers wallet problems: https://github.com/bitcoinx2/Espers/wiki/Solving-wallet-issues
413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: December 18, 2017, 09:10:51 PM
Thanks EleanorZ for explaining a lot of things here. A few additions:

I have written a little more detailed guide on calculating the staking rewards here: https://github.com/bitcoinx2/spectre/wiki/FAQ#8-how-can-i-stake

You can use the "dumpprivkey <Address>" command (sorry - I think I wrote that quote with exportprivkey earlier) to export your private key. Note that when you spend coins from that address, then most probably a change address will be generated, which will be different from your original address! Your private key will not change from staking alone, but you should be aware that every time you send coins, some remaining part will be stored on a different address afterwards.  That's why making backups of your wallet.dat is usually more important. There are 100 change addresses in our wallet.dat, so at least after every 100 sent transactions you should make a new backup of it.

I deleted my information.....the wallet does not sync the correct block and I can not send or receive coins.

Can you send me your ESP.zip? bootstrap
withdraw your wallet.dat - just want to sync my wallet.

Sorry man, I'm currently not synced, either. I'm waiting for a fix as much as everyone else, I don't like using bootstrap files. The one provided on the Espers homepage should work.

I use windows.

How do I view permissions on windows?

thank you

Windows is not a Unix-based OS, so you probably don't have to worry about permissions (well - unless you unpacked the files as an Administrator, and then tried to run the wallet as a user). Hmm I'm not sure what else you could try.
416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡[ANN]⚡ ▐░Espers [ESP]░▌▐░PoW/PoS░▌▐░HMQ1725 Algo░▌ ▐░New Features░▌ on: December 17, 2017, 04:46:25 PM
ESPER is in block 720227 and my wallet is in block 704195 saying 100% updated.

How to solve this?

I downloaded Wallet wallet 0.8.6.9 and bootstrap, updated and stopped in block 704195 saying 100%

I put the knots and did not solve.

And when closing the wallet appears this error:

https://uploaddeimagens.com.br/imagens/capturar-jpg--1859

Hmm, could be a permission problem? Maybe try extracting the bootstrap files using a different method, and look at the file permissions in case you are using a Unix-based OS.

I have the ESPR 2.0 currency, with the fork there is another to make the exchange?

Sorry I don't understand the question.

For everybody confused here, I would like to explain what is the difference between an ICO and a coin swap / chain swap.

ICO:
  • A new developer starts a new project and wants/needs to acquire funds.
  • The dev will premine a certain amount, and sell the premined coins to the new users.
  • Users pay with an existing currency or coin (a different project), and receive coins from the new project.
  • The dev keeps the money and will cash it out later.
  • The currency users paid with, continues to exist (otherwise there would be no point in wanting to "cash out").

Swap:
  • A developer of an existing project wants/needs to base his coin on a different chain.
  • The dev will premine a certain amount, and instructs every user of the current chain to take the swap procedure.
  • Users send in their coins from the current chain (same project), and receive coins from the new chain.
  • The dev abandons the previous chain, mining stops, the swapped and unswapped tokens of the old chain become worthless.
  • Dev does not gain any money, it's just done for the purpose of switching the chain.

Now we look at this project:

  • New project, new vision.
  • New developers.
  • The money users pay with comes from a different project.
  • The other project (Espers) does not get abandoned and continues to exist.
  • Dev keeps the money with the goal of cashing out later.

Ergo, this is an ICO. So you shouldn't call yourself a swap, this has no characteristics of a swap at all.

So I guess the relevant question here is: Why do you only accept ESP? And btw., how much ESP does the entire dev team hold together? This would be similar to a premine, so it should be made public.

Hello,

Seriously guys...is ESP dead ? Or is ESP dead Cheesy ?
me interesting too
i have 280k esp on coinexhange, but i dont know what deal with this coins  Roll Eyes

Zombie state I would say. It's dead but alive at the same time, and might start moving fast if the zombie master Cryptocoderz appears on the scene with some wallet fixes.

I like that this price surge is happening even before the release of 1.4. Who knows what will happen when we get a completely new and awesome wallet?  Cheesy

Hi natenooo,

right before you asked your question the first time I linked this tutorial here: https://github.com/bitcoinx2/Espers/wiki/Solving-wallet-issues

That should work for you. Note that the SSL certificate for espers.io is currently outdated.

Thanks Gandalf, I followed those instructions but now my Wallet doesn't show what I use to have.

Should i try doing that again, reinstalling the wallet etc.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

You should try to find the reason for that and understand it. If your balance is wrong, it either means that you are on the wrong chain, or you need to rescan your local copy of the chain, or that your balance is right and you are wrong. All cases are covered in this guide. In order to solve the problem, you need to find out what is the problem.

Also make sure to always have a backup of your wallet.dat.
