really exiting times for ICO Investors Smiley

Yes but the downside is that many other people will be frustrated because they didn't take part in the ICO, calling it "unfair" etc. Remember people, it wasn't unfair, you just didn't believe that this was a legit project. The ICO price of 83 SAT was a steal, simply as that, but current 2800 SAT is still a good price IMO. As some loose hands are giving it away already, this is a good chance to gain at least some profit from this project.

Any one have more feedback ?

Yes, where do I get the source code to compile it on GNU/Linux? There doesn't seem to be an update on Github. Maybe you could create a "dev" branch and push to it from time to time?
1083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOICO]Suicide Coin | FULL POW | Scrypt [COMMUNITY] on: January 20, 2017, 08:31:32 AM
- Only for windows users

So could someone upload a screenshot for people that don't have Windows? Will the wallet be made to work for other OS as well, later?
1084  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Spectrecoin [SPEC] Untraceable Tx | Ring Signatures | Tor | Exchanges on: January 20, 2017, 07:36:01 AM
I agree on the community being responsible for bringing a coin to exchanges if they want to trade it, not developers with their funds. Go on people, do it, I'm not interested in trading personally but if you want to, then it's your job to ask the exchanges about it, vote or whatever.

The unmade mobile apps are not worth speculating on either. its not innovation! If by some miracle this project lasts more then a year, people still wont use the apps!! Not for at least 10 years. You are all in such a rush but you forget this tech is not ready for mainstream yet. I encourage you to support projects however, i encourage you to remain calm until one of you actually innovates!!

Making an App for mobile-to-mobile transactions is not innovative? Of course making it user-friendly is the goal. The only thing that is not ready for mainstream yet are the user interfaces! Having user-friendly UIs and infrastructure to let normal people use it is one of the biggest challenges in cryptocurrencies these days, how is that not innovative?  Huh  If any crypto currency were as easy to use as Paypal or WhatsApp I'm sure it could be a competitor to Bitcoin. It's all about the UI, no normal user cares about fancy tech stuff as long as it does the job. Afaik, one of the ideas is to use Spectre as cash using your mobile phone. That's why it's called Spectre.Cash. Just a balance and QR code reader here, with the Spectre network working in the background.

Also @LongAndShort, how do you come to judge about the developers (plural) of Spectre? Do you know any of them personally? Also you keep saying "he" has not done his crypto history, what exactly do you mean by that?
1085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOICO]Suicide Coin | FULL POW | Scrypt [COMMUNITY] on: January 18, 2017, 12:17:37 PM
You must know that compiling this, is really tricky, long, and hard ( if you laugh reading this, then you are as deviant as i am)

Just wondering because normally I would compile, test and debug as I write the code, so there's always a working program ... it's kinda funny to see that you put compiling your software as an extra step.  Grin Anyway good luck, we're all looking forward to it!  Smiley
1086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Spectrecoin [SPEC] Untraceable Tx | Ring Signatures | Tor | Exchanges on: January 18, 2017, 10:37:37 AM
Just saying that again, the main selling point of Spectre is the mobile App which is going to be developed. This project is in early stage yet. The SDC code acts as a backbone network and as you said, without any significant changes there is nothing that would give it more value than SDC. However the App is being developed independently, and the wallet is being added new features like native Tor integration, and if it will give SpectreCash more value than SadowCash, there will be nothing unfair about it. Also note that the App will be open source (afaik) as well so everyone can use it and profit from it.
1087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Spectrecoin [SPEC] Untraceable Tx | Ring Signatures | Tor | Exchanges on: January 17, 2017, 01:21:40 AM
Thanks for voting and congratulations with voting win at this round. We are ready to list your coin but we can't use [SPEC] ticker because it already taken at least 2 times:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=669165.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1102264.0

We even had [SPEC] already in 2015 on our exchange.

Please, change ticker and we will list your coin.

Oh c'mon this is ridiculous. There are a bazillion aspiring altcoins right now, do you really think each one of them can find a 5-letter abbreviation that is available on all exchanges, has never been used before and also is easily memorable??  Huh

1. That won't work for much longer anyway if new coins keep popping up at the current rate
2. There is no other coin currently that's called SPEC.
3. Especially not on your exchange, and it's been a long time since you had your last "SPEC".

=> I don't see any single reason why we couldn't call this one SPEC.

German joke incoming ...  Grin This is not a shit coin, but dirt. I guess Dr. Eck is a colleague of Dr. Eist.

What has this place become ...  Cry I propose that only Full Member+ can post coin announcements from now on.

I know that a lof you guys like the idea, so do i, and this is why i decided to speed up the release process, so :

Contest N°1

The redaction of a white paper

Object: Proof Of Suicidal
Content: How a blockchain could possibly suicide ? Can the client auto-uninstall after X period of innactivity or N blocks to sync ? What message can be displayed ? Will the wallet.dat be spared from the suicide ? What are the benefits for such protocole or blockchain ? Can it generate coins ? if yes, to who ?
Note: Be creative, anything can be created at this point, my duty will be to keep the project maintained and to help in the development of the white paper.
Reward: The best White paper will be rewarded by 10% of the premine (worth 10.000 SCD)
Delay: Starts on 25/12/2016 ends on 08/01/2017

To participate, just send me a PM with the white paper, and confirm the PM in the Thread with a message like : "White paper contest, submited work"
Anyone can participate, take it easy guys, i want us to have fun developing cool things  Cool

Unfortunately 10.000 SCD is wayyyy to few lol for me to write a paper, with my estimated mcap of this I could buy 100.000s with just a few Euros. I will just write it here and hope for donations. Cheesy My addy is B9KS47zjGf1vxt5k5XigLYbmciFFavU8KA.

Proof of Suicidal

It might be interesting to have coins commit "suicide" when the wallet is NOT online! Like an inverse PoS. Suicide rate would be a fixed percentage of the wallet's amount, like 0.1% each time. I'm not a blockchain programmer so I don't know how difficult this would be.

What is required is:
1) Each wallet keeps track of which addresses hold how many coins, excluding empty addresses.
2) A decentralized method to agree on one non-empty address (like the PoS mechanism).
(Alternatively, agree on any valid address and if its value is zero, nobody loses coins)

If the address agreed on can proof it is online right now by signature (like PoS), it can insert a veto and won't lose any coins. If it is not online, it will be agreed that 0.1% of that addresses coins will commit suicide and be subtracted from the wallet's balance.

This creates a balance between a number desirable objectives:
1) Spending coins in order to not lose them.
2) Keeping the wallet online in order to support the network.
3) Working against inflation to keep the price high even if people are mining
4) If mining gets harder, the value will increase even more because the amount of coins reduces.

The metaphor would be, if one wallet is able to veto, it is still "alive", but probably suicidal. If it does not reply, it committed suicide so that's what we write into the blockchain.  Smiley

That's it basically, feedback is welcome.

Now for the white papper, the deadline will be the exchange's release, as of now, you are the winner, but please be more expressive, a paragraph may not be enough. I have to finish the wallet first, and then i will be able to turn back to the coin as the wallet is the main feature of the project.

If you have any more questions regarding my proposal, I will be happy to discuss it here or via PM.
1090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOICO]Suicide Coin | FULL POW | Scrypt [COMMUNITY] on: January 16, 2017, 09:08:57 AM
Martbob, not trying to be annoying but how long will the whitepaper contest go? You said it's been extended but we've now passed the original deadline by one week ...  Wink

So when old coin holders decide to "Seppuku" their coins, they will get some SCD right? Where do these SCD come from? How much will be received that way? I'm afraid that given the huge amount of dead coins, SCD coin supply would increase pretty fast. People would just exchange their old coins for SCD and dump them on Yobit, so we would end up at 1 SAT pretty quickly as well ...  Undecided

The problem is that there is no real stuff you can spend SCD on, because nobody makes substantial profit from burning coins. The only way to get some value out of SCD is by selling them. Not trying to be harsh, just pointing out a possible problem here.
1091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Spectrecoin [SPEC] Untraceable Tx | Ring Signatures | Tor | Exchanges on: January 15, 2017, 02:52:10 PM
We already have Monero for "anonymous currency with ring signatures". Isn't this a little redundant? Or is there a significant difference between the two coins that I'm not seeing here.

The difference is in the App. There hasn't been much information given yet on what kind of protocol the app will use, but apparently it will be more than just a mobile wallet for an anonymous currency. This app is meant to enable ordinary people to use Spectre on a daily basis for their payments, while retaining their privacy and not requiring much of a banking infrastructure.

The whole project is about Spectre.Cash, which is what the currency for mobile use will be called. The network, which is similar to SDC, just acts as a backbone network.

The ICO was meant as a crowdfunding for this app, for the case you're still wondering. It raised a very low amount, like 13 BTC I think.

Btw. I am now working on integrating the music player into the wallet. This will be a major improvement from where we are now.

Donations would be greatly appreciated. Wink Donation address is: 2Ss3T3dkPGyeJ7AhF41LEYL4rLaZGA9VDX

Will the mobile ("lite") version require internet for completing a transaction btw? Is it instant or does it rather require verification of the transaction by other peers?

@mandica
1094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | ANN | Espers [ESP] | New Algo | New Features In Development | Reverse-ICO | on: January 14, 2017, 01:09:24 PM
Wow, websites on the ESP blockchain!

Is that domain registry (like Namecoin and SixEleven)?

Or actual sites hosted and served by the ESP chain (like no other blockchain I can think of)?

If any of this theories is correct than ESP will after release of websites on the ESP blockchain drastically increase in value

I hope so, there's a reason why CryptoCoderz are so busy preparing stuff and testing out things in the background ... maybe now the "proof or reliability" that rewards nodes for their uptime starts to make sense ...  Wink It's still a long way to go, this is huge stuff. But then again, a very dedicated team that is always busy and working, like the Ethereum team ...  Cool
1095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Spectrecoin [SPEC] Untraceable Tx | Ring Signatures | Tor | Exchanges on: January 14, 2017, 12:58:36 PM
I never doubted the integrity of the developer, but my main concern now is the level of funding received, it is quite low in my opinion unless the developer is rich to support the project on his own before mass adoption

As I have said before, we will need to grow slowly and more organic and rather link up with people who want to work for the future of the project rather than just a few BTC. We are quite close to get the new version out and I believe that we will then stand out from the crowd.

I love this, the Spectre.Cash app will be absolutely unique in cryptoland. Will the mobile ("lite") version require internet for completing a transaction btw? Is it instant or does it rather require verification of the transaction by other peers?

Just got the following email from Titcoin webmaster, after 8 months:

Hi.

Sorry for the late reply.

Let me know if you're still interested.

Talk soon.

Apparently this went out to all of the inquiries they received during past half year. Something is in the bush ...  Cheesy
1097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Spectrecoin [SPEC] Untraceable Tx | Ring Signatures | Tor | Exchanges on: January 11, 2017, 10:30:59 PM
It's funny how suddenly all the trolls calling "SCAM" got quiet...  Grin

This project seems legit to me, devs are working diligently ... and as mandica predicted, few investors got a ton of SPEC for small money. Let me predict that this is the next thing people will be complaining about, the bad distribution ... let's just remember that it was their choice to undervalue this project during ICO, not dev's fault.
1098  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Titcoin™ [TIT] Discussion Forum (2016 XBIZ Awards Nominee) on: January 11, 2017, 09:51:44 PM
So it this coin dead or alive? Huh as price seem to be jumping around quite abit on yobit?

If only the devs would send a life sign!  Huh Not knowing how to continue may be understandable, but I have no idea why they would stop communicating altogether.  Sad Last status was that they were looking for a new developer. It can't take that long to find a decent dev for such a promising coin as this! Such a shame.

Am I the only one who often gets this error on startup?

Error opening block database.

Do you want to rebuild the block database now?
1100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOICO]Suicide Coin | FULL POW | Scrypt [COMMUNITY] on: January 11, 2017, 12:39:07 PM
No, i asked for a white paper, it is WP contest but your idea is so close to my own idea, can you complete it with a full white paper ? But we can work on it together, i am open to help anyone here if you have any question. The reward is still there, so don't worry.

Well I'm a computer scientist myself, writing a complete white paper would require 50 hours at least or 1500€ worth of work, I'm pretty sure that 10k SCD's will not be worth that effort. I submitted to you my idea, the abstract, that's all I can give here, but I guess nobody here would write a white paper for some small bounty.

Quote
PS: SCDs won't be burned by the wallet.

That's just what was my idea, so how can you say that the ideas are very similar?  Huh Rather, they seem to be mutually exclusive that's why I was confused by your proposition for the Suicide protocol. (btw. I also like my idea more but that's up for you to decide lol)
