Does it matter that much? I mean he's new to gambling but I don't think he's new to sports itself. He probably has a basic idea about the teams, matches, statistics, and whatnot that most people who watch tourneys regularly would, so I reckon he can bet more than 5% if he wants to on matches that he's confident in.

In the first place, I reckon such tips are much more preferred on betting on casinos instead of sports bets no? At least personally I haven't heard of such a thing.
82  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your favorite to lose slot game on: April 28, 2024, 01:41:05 AM
Gates of Olympus, Fruit Party, and Sugar Rush are my usual ones. If I were to pick which one I always come back, then it's Gate of Olympus. Idk it's just kind of a natural choice for me now whenever I wind up in the slots part of the casino. Not that I like losing lol, I pretty much mald my way out of the slots portion of the casino often due to losing dumbly after hoping for a big cashout.

Might just be biased with Gates of Olympus thoughts since it is the most played one that I have, so I reckon the ratio of win/loss compared to other slots is much bigger.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Post halving, why are altcoins the most affected on: April 27, 2024, 12:54:25 PM
~
Well altcoins do go up by a significant amount compared to Bitcoin. An example would be in the span of a week, Bitcoin would probably at most get maybe 5% to 10% increase, altcoins, on the other hand, can go up by 100 or 200, maybe up to a thousand for some manipulated ones. It's not surprising why they'd go down by that much or even more compared to Bitcoin.

At the same time most altcoins would also naturally experience a decrease, maybe less compared to top-performing ones but inevitably they'd get swept up by the same wave and go down.
84  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Impact of Crypto Betting on Traditional Sports Betting on: April 27, 2024, 09:00:51 AM
~
I think you can see how massive crypto betting has become just by looking at the sponsorships for some major sports tournaments out there. Stake has been on one afaik, same with sportsbet.io. There may even be more out there that I don't know but I think just those two can be more than enough proof that they're bringing impact, enough of it for traditional sports bookies to consider them as competition.

Well outside of that, in terms of each bookie's method or way of attracting customers, I'd say they'd still have their own ways. Naturally what you said an example would most likely disappear, or be improved upon on. Who knows, crypto casinos may start implementing them as well if they start giving out more rewards for it instead of adopting it directly.
85  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are Nassim Taleb's ideas useful in gambling? on: April 27, 2024, 04:32:51 AM

Completely agree with 1, randomness can produce a pattern but that doesn't mean it follows that pattern. The fact that it can produce a pattern and yet also go completely sideways after that pretty much reveals that it is indeed random, instead of a predestined pattern.

As for 2, I'd say it's pretty similar to the bias (if it means what I think it means) I've said in my past comments, survivorship bias to be exact. People often only consider things that have happened when explaining, often forgetting about prior instances that ran contrary to what they've experienced at that moment. The view they see things get pretty narrow, not that I blame them, gambling can be pretty emotional at times.

As for 3, idk, I just spend everything I have in my bankroll. If we were talking about the entirety of our funds, where 10% here can be said to be the gambling asset part, then yea I guess it works as well.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How it is possible to get MC in millions ? on: April 26, 2024, 11:18:34 PM
i have been looking into the dextools and dexscreener the meme projects of solana mostly tokens just launched and within 1 2 hour they gained more than a million dollar market cap and when i check their socials they are dead not a single active post their but still manage to engage audience and reach Million dollar MC how i can't figure it out same now i found a https://simsol.fun/ project a meme one but this time their socials are quite active and but still no as such marketing but i am getting vibes it gonna make million for sure what you think ?

Idk, let me join the telegram of the insiders then I'd say yea go for it Wink. Kidding aside it all depends on how the team goes about to do it. If they actively market it naturally the coin would go up (especially since they'd make it go up, regardless of the number of their natural audience), if not then the coin may or may not depending on how lucky they get. I wouldn't really trust your vibes lol, most of the time they'd just hype it out then exit the market leaving hundreds of fooled investors losing their money. You might just be one of them if you continue.
87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blogs and Forums. Additional Features in Online Casinos on: April 25, 2024, 10:55:34 PM
~
For blogs, definitely not. The only blogs I'd ever probably read are about bug exploits, framework changes, and stuff related to that. What do they even write with casino blogs anyway? About how they managed to suck x amount of money from their y amount of customers?

Forum wise I think I'd participate though. A lot better than a blog at least since it provides interaction between various users, maybe even admins and casino owners if they join in. Also opens up an open discussion on different topics like bug fix, exploits, site changes and stuff like that.
88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beyond Wagering on: April 25, 2024, 09:27:17 PM
Unironically card counting. I never really used it effectively, but I did learn about how it's used and I've tried doing it before in a match with a friend (they were aware, and no money was involved. Purely for my practice).

Other than that, then game knowledge for eSports. I play League so it didn't change there, maybe knowing how to read stuff better but that's it. Dota 2 was something I didn't really play but I did play Dota, so when I watch the games I have a bit of an idea of what's happening but nothing too deep. Watching tourneys for a long time made me build up game knowledge about it even though I never really played it myself. Fundamentals wise I still suck though once I tried it out.
89  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gaming strategies on: April 25, 2024, 09:10:33 PM
Do you have favorite gaming strategies? Are there any effective approaches you know of that can be used in different games?
If you wanted to have fun then don't. Just turn off your brain imo. Now if you have fun trying to come up with strategies then that might be different but then again, you wouldn't be playing gambling in that case but some other and better strategy game. If you were talking about methods and strategies to be more effective with your money (and to avoid addiction), then the usual. Limit your bankroll, stop chasing losses, stuff like that. Any regular gambler probably knows them so a quick lookup for related stuff like this can easily yield the same answers that I said.

If it was winning though, then yea, just get lucky.
90  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streaming community are getting worst!!! on: April 24, 2024, 11:01:35 PM
~
It's not wrong technically, just that OP is attacking streamers since they arbitrarily start streaming casinos and gambling when they have young people as their audience, or at least a part of it. As for those who are already of legal age and still get swayed in to gamble and lose all their money, then yea, 100% their fault.

If we were talking about how the streams/videos are shown to the users though, it's 100% the platform's fault. They should automatically tag said streams so that they aren't able to be seen by people not in a certain age range. Now if it was how to do that, technically not our problem since it's not exactly our platform lol.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why'AltCoin and related projects mostly been promoted by lower rank memebership? on: April 24, 2024, 09:47:21 PM
With all due respect, in the long run that I've been in this forum and has been around in the AltCoin Boards, I figured out that AltCoin and it's related some projects is being hyped just for promotions by most especially lower membership ranks of the forum.
I don't know know if it's as a result of not being reputable projects that's why the trends in the forum is not being influenced by higher or respectable memebership ranks in the forum.
Or are the projects just manipulations of having those lower rank accounts active and introduced specifically for meme speculations?
Most of them are pretty scammy, newish or just in general not something that is worth their participation. Most of the time these campaigns of altcoins reward the coins that they promote (or of the project that they promote) and they're valued to absolutely close to nothing once they're given out or are available to sell. Compare that to in general, projects that actually give out something, it's reasonable to expect that most people would prefer talking about those coins to temporarily hyped up coins.

If they started improving in quality then people would naturally start talking about them imo.
92  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling A Hobby? on: April 24, 2024, 09:14:36 PM
~
Cheers.
As the articles stated, it's a hobby if you use it as one. If you start getting addicted, overspending both your time and money in it, then it's not a hobby anymore. It can be called a "passion" yes, just like how you can describe people who spend their entire day honing their hobbies e.g. drawing, 3d modelling, anything art related really, but I don't think that'd ever apply to gambling, ever. There's nothing artistic or creative about it, it's just you spending money to try to earn money.
93  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the biggest mistakes made by beginners in online gambling? How can they on: April 23, 2024, 10:06:03 PM
What are the biggest mistakes made by beginners in online gambling? How can they be avoided?
Gambling in the first place? Since I reckon most of them started gambling to earn money anyway. Rare are people who first entered gambling just to enjoy it (and I'm definitely not one of them). I definitely lost a lot before realizing that I should just enjoy things instead of stressing over getting back what I lost. Definitely thought I was some sort of gambling master when I first started since it was a thrill I haven't felt before and I was blind to the actual losses I made.

Other than that realistically speaking then casino choices. It's pretty easy to get scammed when you're offered the allure of a "100% win chance", whether it be in a sports fixed match or a casino hack, which most of the time are 100% a scam.
94  Economy / Economics / Re: Young people are less likely to accept traditional employments in this era! on: April 23, 2024, 09:31:46 PM
So if there is a way to create balance and bring more young people to have interest in the traditional workforce what would you think of? I was thinking that increasing minimum wages and granting more benefits like health, rent to mention a few would help
Minimum wage and companies need to start giving a damn to how management is. There's a LOT of repeated workplace toxicity in various companies not to mention that favoritism can be pretty rampant. You'd probably work 2 -3 people's worth and still get the same pay of someone just sitting at their table all day since they're a relative of the boss lol. And probably a couple more stuff like that, e.g. being paid so low, "passion pay" and others.

Minimum wage is something natural ofc. Plus, not only does it benefit young people, but it also benefits people who've been stuck in that system for a few years now.
95  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lies told to cover up gambling habit on: April 23, 2024, 08:42:10 PM
~
I don't think it was THAT bad. You can have multiple favorite times in a day, at least.

Anyway, I think the only time I lied was during my early days? As I've shared before I was playing poker already with my friends back in hs, and was in a relationship. My partner abhorred the idea of me gambling (or at least, gambling with money, not poker itself) so whenever I was playing, I always told her that we were just playing with cards, no money involved. There came a point though where I was caught red handed so had no choice but to confess Tongue. Naturally I had to stop but eh, we eventually broke up and here I am gambling again.
96  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why the Reluctance? on: April 22, 2024, 09:29:14 PM
~
Can probably be due to regional laws or religion itself, who knows? Idk how much influence religion has in Nigeria but if that was the major factor, then I reckon there's only a specific number of casinos that they themselves specifically allowed to sell their services in the country. If it was regional, same thing maybe, they just allowed a specific number of casinos instead of allowing everything all at once. Might be because they want to better regulate it, or just that the casinos paid the country so as to prevent competition.

Can also include that some providers aren't allowed in the country. And with casinos sometimes having said providers as their key entertainment, they can't exactly compete with existing ones or fully be able to sell their services to the country with those kinds of limitations.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are more people getting excited about memecoins? on: April 22, 2024, 09:16:00 PM
~
Quick money if you get lucky. It only takes about what, probably less than a month, maybe even less for a coin to do a quick pump to its peak so people can instantly profit x% amount every time. And for the most part they don't need to invest much of their money to profit that big. They just need to spend a larger amount of time though to find a coin that would look like it could pump or join the group who's going to do the pump and dump and know the timing so as to profit big. If people were saying that trading can be called gambling, then yeah, this is the gambling part they were talking about.
98  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streaming community are getting worst!!! on: April 22, 2024, 09:02:31 PM

First time? There are quite a bit of streamers out there who turned to gambling after having lost all their main audience. Might just be due to them not growing really as a content creator, or just others having better content than them so the audience simply went to them instead. Well, that's the old streamers' part and just my take on why they went to gambling instead of continuing their old style.

As for new ones, I don't think there's any dignity to sell in the first place since they don't have a brand in the first place, they might just really like gambling so they started with that. In the first place I wouldn't really blame them for the audience watching them, each person has their own choice to watch others after all. And if it was the young viewers, it's not their job to filter it out so that they aren't watchable by said viewers, it's the platforms job.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you see NFTs heading in the future? on: April 21, 2024, 11:02:09 PM
~
Idk, they seem like they'll forever be a niche market for me. A lot of the art in there is just stuff that people made to make a quick buck, with more effort spent on the marketing segment of things rather than the quality of the product itself. There are still some items there that are worth the price they're posted in, heck some are even underpriced compared to the damn thousands of dollar monkey jpegs people made back then.

There's other use cases for NFTs right now as well other than the art itself ofc, but again they're mostly focusing on marketing it instead of improving the product itself. I do believe with someone appreciating someone else's work though. I've seen quite a bit of quality NFTs in the past.
100  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading with AI on: April 21, 2024, 09:34:00 PM
~
Yea, they're making 2.5-2.7% profit off of YOU, and similar people like you who just give them money. No AI is going to give you that guarantee of profit, even a professional trader probably wouldn't give his word that he can 100% give you that amount of daily profit. It's doable, but not permanently. And I highly doubt they even use AI, probably just a buzzword that they use to be "in the times". That is unless OP you post your results, otherwise this is the stance most people would probably adopt.
