81  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling. Is It Wrong? on: July 19, 2016, 03:20:18 AM
Actually it is according to my experience, I tried gambling before and tried to give effort and time to it, it just makes my family life looks weird, I just realized later on that what if my child grow and ask what am I doing, definitely it would be shameful if I would tell that I am gambling earn extra money..  Cheesy
well, better you would is do not tell him/her that you earn extra money from gambling sites, just tell him/her that you will just playing online games just for your past time. So that he/she will not get curious about gambling. Cheesy
Better not to play or stop immediately when your child notices you that you are too busy playing online gambling.  For them not to be involved in online gambling sites.

Much like alcohol, something shouldn't be forbidden for adults to do just because the kids can't do it either.  They should be talked to at an appropriate age and taught that while it can be a fun pastime if you play with what you can afford, it can very quickly get out of control and ruin your life (like any other addiction).  Be a good example and play moderately if you decide you do, and if you lose money use that as a life lesson that you can pass on.
82  Other / Meta / Re: What's your "Report to Moderator" % rate at? on: July 19, 2016, 03:17:57 AM
I'm at 135 with 93% accuracy right now.  On some occasions me and the mods disagree with what's spam, or something seems scammy but doesn't have enough evidence to remove.  Unless you're just spamming the button the % seems pointless, it's really just a percentage of the time you and the mods agree that something sucks.
83  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does Bitcoin price now will be Stable or it will sti go up??? on: July 19, 2016, 03:15:34 AM
Hi guys i want to get your thoughs about bitcoins price for this month or even in future, do you think bitcoins will stable for this succeeding months? Or it will surge up to the top?.

Because i really wondering what will happen now since halving is done.

well these weeks i am sure that bitcoins price will stay for some time stable, and then it should rise from 630$ to 900$ or if we will be lucky, to 1000$ and more
i  think that the price of the bitcoin is going to be stable for some time right now but in my opinion we might see some bigger growths in the near future too

Well im thinking really the price for this month will be steady but i keep looking to price if the up will continue, but im doubting to stake since price for todays are untrustable to invest with, and for saying that bitcoin will possibly go to 1k$? I think its very impossible for this state because we know that halving is done and halving time are the one who can stretch the price and thats the reason im doubting to spend my penny to bitcoins for now. But really who knows all things may happen since theyre are history that bitcoins price are soaring high for more And maybe it will occur this year.

Logically that all makes sense, but very little of the BTC price is based on that.  It's mostly hardcore fans of BTC that are ride-or-die investors, and the whales that use those people to make money.  Any little sign of a price raise is going to be seen as a delayed rise from the halving, and people are going to try to milk it to the next bubble.  Whales will allow it to pump up nice and high before cashing out and making the price come back tumbling down, much like it did in the last rise to 1k.

All it takes is enough hype and we can skyrocket for no particular reason, so when we actually have a half-decent one I'd hold on tight for the show that's going to happen.

85  Economy / Economics / Re: The dream of getting rich with bitcoins on: July 18, 2016, 04:33:17 AM
Hold as many btc as you can afford as part of a savings strategy. Don't touch it. If you believe in crypto currency, then you should believe that your investment should mature at least 50% over the next few years. There is little risk in this strategy, and little effort; just park the coins in a paper wallet and break the seal when the price reaches the desired point.
I think it would be a much better idea to diversify your investments, with how much you put in crypto being related to how much you believe in it.  It seems silly to invest over half of your life savings in something that can lose 20% in a day and nobody blinks an eye.  There is very much risk in that strategy, as you don't have a exit point if things hit the fan to cut your losses.  Most people on here aren't whales that will have tons more disposable income to replace whatever they lose if it happens.
86  Economy / Economics / Re: The Halvening on: July 18, 2016, 04:28:34 AM
The halving will take its effect in the next few months or years. The price will rise due to the reduced supply.
The supply is not reduced. It increases toward 21 million with every block.

The daily supply of the new coins are reduced, or you can say the rate of the new bitcoin growth reduces.

I see that you have a full understanding, but "daily supply" is a poor term because the supply of bitcoins each day includes all bitcoins in existence, and not just the ones produced that day.

"Production" is a better term than "supply of the new coins" because it is more accurate and accepted, and it isn't as confusing.
It could go both ways, as the coins mined are the only 'supply' to the miners trying to make money.  Really it just comes down to semantics.

Anyway, I've been saying that nothing much was going to happen to the price for a while.  Everybody knew when the halving was going to happen and bought coins accordingly, so there really was nobody to make the price go up when it actually happened.  I could see it potentially being something that helps the price slowly grow to a point that the bull market takes over on it's own, but not something that's going to shoot us into a new bubble without any hype.

We're also going to need to overcome all the people that overbought BTC in preparation for it and are waiting for a good point to cash out.  The second we hit a landmark amount like 700, there's going to be a lot of sells from people just trying to make a quick buck.  Only after we overcome that can we actually discuss a huge price raise.
87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling problem on: July 18, 2016, 04:24:36 AM
Just wanted to share that I lost in online roulette.  I don’t know whether I will be able to stop it. I tried many times but failed. I have had so many sleepless nights…I am not the same person which I was used to be once.
I wished I never knew what gambling is.
You should try to see if the BTC casinos you play at will allow you to self-exclude.  If you do that then the only options left will be to play at ones that are rigged, and hopefully knowing that you'll literally be throwing away your money with no chance of profit will allow you to break free of the addiction.

Good luck
88  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin rise up to 800$ this year ? on: July 18, 2016, 04:22:52 AM
Yes, I am totally convinced that it is perfectly possible because of the undeniable bullish bias that the bitcoin price has kept throughout this year. Perhaps we could see a price above the $800 level in a couple of months.
I don't doubt that this will happen given the recent halving, the real question is whether it will be stable at that level.  Many people are invested more than they can afford right now thinking it will go up, and as soon as they find a good exit point it could cause the price to go flashcrashing.  OTOH, the chaos could end up pushing us to a crazy price like we did a few years ago when we hit 1k.

89  Economy / Speculation / Re: After Weeks of Price Stagnation, BTC Price Seems to be Moving Up on: July 18, 2016, 04:19:36 AM
Given that we just had the halving, I think some (re: many) of the die-hard crypto fans are going to see any tiny price raise as a chance to buy.  We'll end up going up a decent bit (maybe 750-800), but it's going to be popped when the people that bought more than they could afford to prepare for the halving decide to cash out.

I'd place a buy to cash out at 700, but be careful not to get greedy or it could come back to bite.
90  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] PNY 32gb USB 3.0 Flash Drives on: July 17, 2016, 05:49:06 PM
I'm interested if you can bundle the shipping with the 0.02 price Grin

I'm fine with having the thing opened, as long as it's not damaged when I receive it. I've never used core before, let alone a pruned version. A wild guess, downloading core and then setting it to download blocks less than x days old. I'm not really sure...

The wonders of cheap internet nowadays...
If you're buying 2 or more I'll go ahead and toss in shipping.  Got core syncing now so we'll see if it works soon enough.
91  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] PNY 32gb USB 3.0 Flash Drives on: July 17, 2016, 06:46:07 AM
Could you give us a picture? There are multiple types of PNY USBs.

Also, how much is the shipping to Australia? Is it possible for you to load up Core with a pruned blockchain on it? Smiley
It looks like basic first class shipping will only be about $4, but I will have to take them out of the packaging and just use a bubble mailer if that's okay.  Otherwise it will be around 13.  I could certainly load that on up for you as long as you have a link~

97  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it my imagination or does Bitcoin tend to gravitate towards $666 on: June 22, 2016, 02:42:44 AM
The people that are watching the price all day do get a kick out of making it hang around those numbers, but I don't think it actually gravitates towards it for any other market reason.  When we were sub-500 we ended up hanging around 420 for quite a bit.  Its just because the people that are watching the price enough to notice its close are the same ones that would get a chuckle out of placing an order to make it stay at that.
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Grow my Bitcoins. on: June 22, 2016, 02:39:15 AM
This topic seems to pop up a lot, and besides gambling there really isn't a way to just grow them.

Sure you can do Sig campaigns, but unless you have a high ranking account you're going to be earning very little for your time unless you simply spam the forum.

The best thing is to earn some money in real life and use that to buy Crypto.  Whether you go get a part-time job or do online freelance work, it will probably earn more than what you would in the world of cryoto unless you have a very relavent skill.

BTC isn't a way to get rich quick, its just a way to hold, risk, and use the money once you have it.
