81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don't like the term "blockchain" on: April 28, 2024, 12:48:48 PM
Hi all,
I find the term "timechain" cooler. Cool

In this article at Bitcoin Magazine,
https://bitcoinmagazine.com/culture/bitcoins-blockchain-is-the-timechain

The author argues that "timechain" more accurately describes Bitcoin because it emphasizes the fact that Bitcoin is a chronological ledger of transactions.

Moreover, one can argue that some software developers find that blockchain is a bad data structure. I mean, a blockchain does have features for its original purpose to solve the double-spending problem in a distributed system, but for general computing or development of distributed applications, it's better to use something else.

P.S.->Thanks to the members who supported freedom to express my opinion in the "I don't like the term 'crypto'" thread.

P.S.1-> In software engineering, it is considered a good practice to keep a glossary, that's why I'm thinking about those Bitcoin community jargons.

BTC>

There's a reason why it is called the blockchain. As we know bitcoin is based on Proof of Work algorithm.
That proof of work is then added to a block and chained together with other blocks.
This is why it is called as the block chain based on the work that has been done to mine bitcoins.
I guess no other word would be as perfect as the word blockchain.
82  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: April 28, 2024, 12:30:48 PM
Mike Tyson is of 57 years now and with that age it becomes common to see the body in that condition especially if you are not training regularly.
Now that he is training hard and back in shape it will be good to see him in the ring again.
I wish it was a real match though and not just an exhitbition match with no winners.

Although there is a lot of disgust in Jake, he may actually win this fight because of his youth. Boxing is best when a person is young but for Mike at his age, that knuckle of him is likely in the most brittle condition. Once he throws a large uppercut, he will feel it and will likely not do it again. And he must felt it already during the sparring before the fight.

The best part of this is that Mike gets fit again and has training while making money out of it is one sweet deal. Regardless of the result, it's a win for him, and maybe this training will add 30 more years of his life.

Getting money out of the match and at the same time getting healthy for the match is like a double bonus.
The feeling must be great but I wouldn't say it would add 30 more years to his life.
No matter how good his training would be, if he doesn't continue his training then it would make much of a difference to his life.
May be 5 more years but that would be the max from his current training.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why you should only hold Bitcoin on: April 27, 2024, 05:26:19 PM
The thing is that bitcoin has been giving out amazing returns since the beginning.
Since it's the first cryptocurrency and has been on the top rank since inception, people have developed a strong trust on it.
This is the reason why there are a lot of strong holders holding bitcoin.
But then again, it does not mean that we shouldn't diversify our portfolio. We should keep investing in promising altcoins.
We should actively track our portfolio and keep rotating our money in valuable assets.

Gaming on mobile is a convenient option but cannot be the ideal choice for many people.
For people who don't have a desktop/laptop it can be the best option though but most people who has a desktop/laptop don't prefer gambling on mobile phone.
Gambling on desktop provides the best user experience.

I have both Desktop, Laptop and Mobile devices but I prefer gamble on my mobile device due to convenience it can offer. You don’t need desktop power in online gambling since most of the games is easy to load which gives same user experience for both mobile phone or desktop.

I only use my desktop whenever I play games that has a high resolution since mobile phone can’t handle that kind of processing power and render but in terms of gambling games. I always preferred mobile over desktop because I can gamble comfortably while lying on my bed.

So it really depends on the individual's choice. Even I have a desktop, laptop as well as mobile yet I prefer gambling on desktop and laptop.
To me it's the bigger screen that provides an exotic user experience while gambling. Mobile screens are relatively smaller and hence the experience is not truly amazing to me.

I would say the argument for fun token not being that much anymore, and the value being low, is not something I would pressure them into. They could simply just make a fun token hi/lo and in that situation whenever people lose money there, they could simply burn it and the price of it would go up, it is not that complicated, there is no reason to feel missing all that much.

I personally believe that we need to actually show up and do something about it, and that has to be the most important part. I believe that we can consider the situation as worth it, because freebitco.in is doing all they can right now, and working towards a period where they are trying to have less contact with us obviously, and if that works, then it means it could be better for them personally.

We are unable to see any active developments on the FUN token yet. The last time we heard about it was a very long time ago.
The only place where FUN tokens are actively being used is on freebitco.in. With that being said, it's a hard time for FUN token to gain traction in it's price.
I have locked up my FUN tokens and I hope we see some nice gains in it's price soon but if that doesn't happen, I will still be happy for all the nice rewards it has given me just for holding it.

In my opinion, casinos should refrain from creating tokens or promoting tokens or simply partnering with tokens, because this casino business model is not something that would cause a token to gradually increase in price. the casino is not an investment site where they could place high interest rates for people who invest on the site and thus attract more investors. In the case of casinos, they have a lot of competition, they have operating costs that they need to pay every month, so they cannot afford to give many promotions.

looking at the FUN token chart
snip

I only see a drop in price, with the casino having canceled the signature campaign, and I also saw that some people are already complaining about the support and the delay in withdrawing their winnings, so this will all contribute to keeping customers away from the casino and consequently fewer new customers the casino will have and consequently fewer people will be using this FUN token and the price of this token will be falling constantly until it becomes another dead currency. I honestly don't see a good future for this token. Those people who were lucky enough to buy early and sell for a high price were the only smart people who profited. I always say that there is no guarantee that any token will rise, so if the person has a chance of making a profit, then it is better to sell at a profit, than to get greedy and be doing hodl for years and in the end have high losses.

The drop in price is obvious because almost all the coins were in such a drop after the previous bull run.
While many prominent coins/tokens were able to spike up in price again FUN token hasn't showed any significant gains yet.
May be it's due to the ongoing issues with delayed withdrawals or may be people have just lost interest in FUN.
Those people who pulled out at higher price are indeed luckier to sell at the right time.
86  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling A Hobby? on: April 27, 2024, 03:56:52 PM
Gambling can definitely be a hobby because there are many people who likes gambling and enjoy it when playing for fun.
But there is a slim line between calling it a hobby and getting addicted to it and there are gambling addicts who call it a hobby but are addicted to gambling itsead.
So we must understand that difference but for the topic of this post, yes, gambling can be a hobby.
87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No gambling today due to bitcoin high transaction fee. on: April 27, 2024, 03:47:34 PM
This high fee is probably due to the 4th halving that was completed. I haven't seen this type of transaction fee this hight.

If you look at https://mempool.emzy.de/, the current transaction fee is  over $50 but in the past few hours it was over $100... So if you are a gambler who doesn't gamble that much like your range is only $10 to $100, it's impossible you will choose to gamble today with that very high fees.

This is only for gamblers who use bitcoin as the payment method, how is going today? Who among us here can still afford to gamble?

We have seen such congestions in the bitcoin network earlier as well and the best thing to do in such cases is to wait patiently if you gamble in bitcoin.
You can use altcoins temporarily for gambling until the bitcoin network congestion decreases.
There's no poin in paying such high fees just to deposit money for gambling and then lose it eventually.
This amount can be used for gambling later when the transaction fees are decreased.
88  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gaming strategies on: April 25, 2024, 01:44:44 PM
Do you have favorite gaming strategies? Are there any effective approaches you know of that can be used in different games?

You can use the search bar on the top to find out more similar threads which will give you many such strategies.
The truth is that no gaming strategy works for a long time and you have to evolve your strategy with time.
There is one golden rule though which are very effective and will help you in gambling over a long term.
Always gamble within your budget and never chase losses trying to recover it.
89  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streaming community are getting worst!!! on: April 25, 2024, 01:41:07 PM
Have you notice? In the streaming community, the influence of gambling is getting worse. Have you noticed that many streamers have started to stream gambling and promote it? Sad, but it's the reality. I'm noticing that the streamers I'd used to watch because of their gaming contents and also streams that they do while gaming are fading; they are focusing on and promoting gambling platforms, and the alarming thing is that those streamers used to have young viewers who also played the games they were streaming, and suddenly they left it all out and changed what they streamed, which was gambling.

I don't blame them, but the thing is, they sell their dignity in order to promote gambling, maybe because the offer is too good for them to refuse, but the concept of them abandoning their dignity and ignoring the fact that they could have a bad influence on their viewers, even if they put a warning about being responsible in gambling, the thing is, people or viewers will for sure be attracted if they see the streamers getting or winning too much money. And the theory is that, what if the money or account they are using is not their money or account? Is it an account from the gambling platform that they let the streamers use in order to promote the platform? I can't ignore the fact that a theory might be possible. Anyway, what do you think? or can you say about this streamer transitioning to streamers whose content is gambling? Feel free to share your insights.

Everyone wants a piece of the cake. People are earning huge amounts of money through streaming.
Not only they get money from the streaming platforms but also earn money from the sponsors.
So it's a double income and so many people are trying their luck with these streaming platforms.
90  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: April 25, 2024, 01:37:51 PM
I have seen Mike Tyson and his training now, I feel like that is actually a good situation to be in at that age. I mean he did have some period in his life when he didn't take care of his body, it looked like he gained so much weight (maybe even more than 100 pounds) and he looked just straight up fat and unhealthy, even used a cane to walk. That Mike Tyson would of course not be able to fight, the one from Hangover movies, that wasn't a possibility for him to fight.

However, looking at him now, he is leaner, and he looks meaner as well, he is punching the hell out of anyone, and he is not like that anymore. I believe that he is nowhere near what he used to be obviously, but he is clearly the better boxer than Jake, without a doubt.

Mike Tyson is of 57 years now and with that age it becomes common to see the body in that condition especially if you are not training regularly.
Now that he is training hard and back in shape it will be good to see him in the ring again.

It's not much, but I got really happy today with this winning from faucet, as it has been a long time ago since I don't earn anything above the base rewards from faucet and wheel of fortune. I don't know how often other users are getting prizes beyond the base reward these days, but it has also been a long time since I saw someone posting something like this for the last time. It's good to share expressive winnings notices to inspire optimism among the community, so they will feel more motivated to keep trying as well.
snip

It's still better than the lowest reward. Yes, it has been a long time since anyone has posted a winning of higher reward in faucet.
The last time I won a higher reward in faucet was around 6 months back approximately.
I win higher rewards around 2-3 times in a year.

The reason is very simple that Google Chrome is the most commonly used web browser in the whole world.
It ranks on the top and provides a seamless experience while accessing any site on the internet.
Although it consumes a lot of RAM, people find it more user friendly and that is the reason why developers prefer make their sites run smoothly on Chrome.
Almost all of the gambling sites including Duelbits provides the best experience on Google Chrome.
When the experience of playing a casino when played on a browser is felt, for example, on browser A without experiencing problems, it means there are two possibilities. The first possibility is large capacity internet with high speed which makes game access uninterrupted. The second possibility is the capacity of the computer.

Chrome takes up a lot of RAM and chrome users are aware of it including me. I have had experience playing slots using Chrome so I think it can be recommended even though my experience has only been playing for no more than 1 hour. Browsers like Mozilla for the best gaming experience are lacking.

Mozilla is good for surfing the web and good for privacy but gaming is not wholesome on it. Chrome is the best option in that case.

This is exactly why I do not gamble mobile as well. Not all of us are rich enough to buy the latest iphone, my phone is a very very cheap android, I already had bunch of debt and no money when my phone broke recently, about a month ago, so I just went to my local ecommerce website and sorted by cheapest, and found a phone for just 80 dollars, brand new, it is just a very terrible phone.

I cannot gamble on that phone, even moving it takes a minute, if I end up using that for gambling that wouldn't work, it is too slow and too terrible to do that. However, I never refrain from spending on my PC, because that's very important for me, and my PC with Opera browser, has never let me down and it works like a charm without a single issue.

Gaming on mobile is a convenient option but cannot be the ideal choice for many people.
For people who don't have a desktop/laptop it can be the best option though but most people who has a desktop/laptop don't prefer gambling on mobile phone.
Gambling on desktop provides the best user experience.

I was on a break and now that I have returned the first thing I did was to check this thread and track the status.
I am so happy for you. You have finally won the battle. Although it took a good amount of your time and patience, it was still worth it.
I am more than happy because I can now say it again that freebitco.in does not have any unresolved queries or scam accusations agasint them.

I would suggest using Opera as a browser, specially when it comes to gambling it is much better, plus it uses less cpu as well when you have plenty of tabs open, chrome does end up eating up a lot of cpu when there are a few tabs open and that's not okay at this age, let's face it who opens just one tab and uses that alone, if I wanted to do that then I would use just my phone, but when it comes to PC there shouldn't be any problems powering a few tabs at a time, even more than twenty tabs should be fine, and gambling would face no problems, I never faced any issues with opera.

And about Twitter, it feels like Elon is making a lot of people stay away from it as well, seeing it drop a lot in value as we have seen in the past year.
I hate to say this but Google Chrome is the best browser if someone wants to have the best experience on any website. When developers make a design and create apps, they always use Google Chrome as the standard, then comes Safari. So, we can safely assume that if any website or apps was always built to work well on Google Chrome. It's true that Opera uses Chromium but I am not sure if experience will be the same.
By the way, RAM shouldn't be a problem today. I think that 8GB ram is still enough to handle many tabs on Google Chrome and I can confidently say that 16 GB ram is more than enough to smoothly run your computer with up to hundreds tabs (or even more). RAMs are very cheap nowadays and it's easy to upgrade Laptop too.

96  Economy / Gambling / Re: I want to be a video game streamer on the kik.com gambling stream crypto site. on: April 24, 2024, 02:55:43 PM
How do I do this?

I made account but can't upload profile picture or seem to locate area to configure settings..

I play a game called Roblox.

They have good rate for streamer pay.

Thank you kindly.

🙏

You can only be a profitable streamer if you have a good number of followers. Whether it be any gambling site, you need to gain followers first.
If you already have a good set of followers then you can approach any crypto gambling site and offer them your services.
If any of them are interested then they will respond you with their payment offer.
97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is saving screenshots of useful information and BTC transactions? on: April 24, 2024, 12:15:20 PM
I have a friend who likes taking screenshot so much that he would take a screenshot of even payment transactions from banking apps and large or small bet winnings. I don't know if he loved to brag with it, but he won lots of arguments with real traders and sellers who accept transfers and claim to have not received it.

Sometime last week, we were having a chat and he mentioned how he wants to buy BTC and become a trader and HoDLer as he makes profit along the way. He said he had been learning on his own by watching YouTube videos and from his colleagues in the office.
I just knew then that he had already done so, and upon further chat, he already did because he wouldn't really tell me what he's up to until he has done it, that's how I have known him for long. He is still oblivious of my membership here, although I would tell him somewhere on his trading journey.

I am concerned now however about his screenshot taking habit, because it would be more problems for him if his phone falls into wrong hands and they see screenshots of Bitcoin transactions mostly.
He may have provided the information or data needed by the wrong hands or It can be assumed that he has so much and who knows what ills can come from thoughts like that.

* My question is, how safe is it to keep screenshots of Bitcoin/crypto transactions and useful information, on ones device?

* How do I go about letting my friend know about such a habit of taking and keeping screenshots on his device that I have observed and warn him about it, without looking like I sense bad days coming?

I don't think that is a good idea because most of the apps in our phones require access to gallery.
We provide access to these apps and so it is not recommended to store screenshots of important information on mobile phones.
Besides that, our photos also gets backed up on cloud and if our account is somehow hacked then our those screenshots will compromise our information.
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto or Real estate on: April 10, 2024, 06:35:04 PM
Cryptocurrency:
Cryptocurrency is a digital form of currency that not controlled by any government or any central authority.
In crypto, there is a high rate of return as compared to the real-estate. Cryptocurrency is decentralized (not controlled by any authority or any government). In crypto, u can trade at any time according to the condition of the market you can trade for a long or short period of time. As you wish. But in crypto, the price can swing at any time because any good or bad news is able to change the game.
Real-estate:
Real estate investors are those who purchase property to make profit. They buy residential, commercial or invest through funds. They make money when the value of the money over time increases.  Real estate provides us with a physical asset that can provide us security and stability as compared to cryptocurrency. Real estate property has high potential as compared to crypto to increase its value after a period of time.

Which one do you prefer?

I own both and I must say that I prefer crypto currency over real estate.
Crypto has provided far more better returns than real estate.
Crypto is more liquid than real estate and I don't need to go through the hassle of paper work.
But then that doesn't mean we should go all in with crypto, instead, we should diversify our portfolio so that we can hold both.
99  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: April 07, 2024, 04:52:54 PM
Had a great day because I won 2 out of 3 bets I placed on BTC and ETH price betting.
1st bet was on BTC price range of $70k - $80k with the odds of 3.19x --> won Grin
2nd bet was on ETH price range of $3500 - $3750 with the odds of 3.81x --> won Grin
3rd bet was on ETH price range of $3751 - $4000 with the odds of 3.74x --> lost

Those were some decent returns.
Congrats bro  Cool, that's a really good result, you've been very smart to bet on those ranges actually, and above all to be able to win with such tiny ranges $500 on ETH and 10k for Bitcoin. But when have you placed your bets precisely? Did you wait the very last day? I'm curious. It closed one week before the end of the month if I'm not mistaken, so anyway it's not easy at all to get such results.
Besides that, it's surprising to not see a bet on FUN tokens price, you never bet on this crypto? Why? It's usually less volatile than BTC and ETH

I placed the bets 1 day before the price prediction was about to end.
Yes, I usually don't place bets on FUN token price.
The reason that I don't track FUN token price actively but I do it for BTC and ETH.
100  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 2 cold wallets for my crypto assets on: April 07, 2024, 05:42:00 AM
Hi all.
I am about to set up my first cold wallet (Ledger Nano X that is - still unboxed).
Still enquiring about it watching YouTube videos about its security, as I am not 100% about how secure is a cold wallet with a Bluetooth connection. Because every coin has the other side and Bluetooth would work both ways to your benefit and to benefit of hackers.
In this video the guy says that Ledger's cold wallet proven themselves not to be so very secure and suggested buying Tangem cold wallet instead.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YekyEj8TUAM

Could you please tell me, knowledgeable people, would it be possible to place my crypto assets on both devices at the same time and, if yes, then, if for example my Nano X would get hacked, Tangem will still have them? Or, if they are gone from one wallet they'd be gone from all cold wallets, because hacker would authorise transactions for me?

I think you can use same address on 2 separate devices but that doesn't mean your coins have double security.
If your ledger gets hacked and your coins are stolen from that device then your other device will reflect the same balance as on ledger.
If coins are transferred from one device then it will reflect the same on other.
It would be better to use two separate wallets instead and divide your coins among them.
This would decrease your risk of getting your coins stolen by 50%.
