81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is crypto becoming centralized? on: April 09, 2022, 03:23:29 PM
While centralization may be a bad thing in the eyes of the majority, it doesn't mean that it is indeed bad. There is no such thing as complete freedom in this world and thus some rules should be followed. Good thing about this though is that it enables this industry to thrive without being targeted im a horrific way compared to when everyone was pushing complete privacy and decentralisation. Besides, there are still ways to go around the privacy problems since not wvery coin out there is following centralisation. Some good coins also promote decentralisation and are available for use any time. Point is, coexistence needs centralisation at least to some extent. If not, banks and governments will go crazy and may go all out in destroying the crypto industry.
82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if all cryptocurrencies merged together? on: April 08, 2022, 01:52:36 PM
Doesn't seem like a logical hypothetical. Would you combine commodities like gold and oil together? Each crypto is a single entity with an independent protocol. If you're talking about a hypothetical "if alt coins never existed" and assumed the value of every other alt coin would translate to Bitcoin, it wouldn't. Bitcoin doesn't have intrinsic value.

Indeed it doesn't. And even if we say that we all start from scratch without any crypto and just start out with a single one like bitcoin but with a different name and utility, people will still create altcoins because there will always be a specific type of people who would want another feature that the first crypto doesn't have or would want to improve some of the features it has. And there are also the profiteer type of people who would create another for the soul purpose of profit(may include ones that want both profits and contributions to innovations).

Market caps can be inflated. No use in measuring the legitimacy of a crypto currency using market cap.

I also agree with this. Nothing can save you from scams or poorly made/managed projects other than your extensive research and resourcefulness. Be it coinmarkecap, coingecko, etc., etc. While sites like coinmarkecap can help, it cannot feed you anything you need to know about a project/coin and its developers, community etc., you will still have to do some ground work yourself to really understand what you are getting yourself into.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can you help out a newbie trader please? on: April 08, 2022, 01:26:49 PM
I have been looking through all the responses still and have already researched on and tried most of your recommendations. I am very thankful that the recent responses have been increasingly helpful and very informative. I have found most of the advices I needed and so I will now be closing this thread. As much as I would like to give merits to every single one of you, I seem to have run out of it. But please bear in mind that I am really thankful for all the effort and intentions to help goven by everyone. I hope someone returns the favor to you in my stead one day as I will also try to help others like how you guys have helped me.
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia Sanctions Will Spur the Adoption of Crypto and Reduce USD Dominance - IMF on: April 07, 2022, 12:06:02 PM

Still though, we cannot call the overall plan as stupid just yet regardless of the majority being misinformed or not. And being prepared for wars is already a given. What I focused on was the countermeasures that putin and the minds helping him have devised to ensure as much benefits as possible regardless of the losses they would suffer. The more fitting word would be immoral. But then again, I kay just he assuming these things. But until more of this uncovers, im believing this assumption.
85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if all cryptocurrencies merged together? on: April 07, 2022, 11:15:13 AM
I'm not sure what op is trying to say here. Are you asking about what would happen if all crypto currencies merge together and become a single coin or do you mean selling others and going for just a single crypto currency which is bitcoin? For the first one, it will be utter chaos. The first reason as to why we have so many right now is because others wants a function that the other doesn't want. Like centralised and greatly decentralised to some extent. Now if you meant going all in on bitcoin, then it would mean that most of the normal people will be rid of the chance to get their hands on even some cheap satoshis. Only the rich and capable would he able to acquire any or the ones that already have been hoarding ever since. Whichever the case, none of the two would work.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can you help out a newbie trader please? on: April 07, 2022, 10:25:27 AM
Start mastering the basics such as the support and resistance trading or trend line trading as well as the volume trading and if you already master it you can start with the simple indicators such as the EMA and using RSI to have more accurate analysis in the market. Hiring a coach that will guide you would also increase you to become a better trader but if that is out of the option you can try some free courses that would teach you about trading.

Finally! A response to my post that is actually leading me to a topic I should start learning first! I have basic understanding of these already and a bit about bolingerbands but don't know how to use them in unison yet but at least I know now that I should prioritize them first and the order on which I should proceed with. And about the free courses, if there are are options that you know of, it would be great if you could take the time to share them. I have found a few on youtube but yes, I'm trying to look for the best out there. Thanks again brother.

Still reading through the newer responses and most are just the same responses. While others do contain some good advice, none has really lead me to a specific subject or topic that I should focus on about as an aspiring trader. I would really love to be pointed into a specific type of topic or grouo of topics that I should focus on first and knowledge about which knowledge should he combined with another to improve my trading progress. If anyone can tell me this I would really appreciate it. Regardless, I thank everyone who shared their thoughts for all the efforts to help.
88  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Teachers deserve more on: April 06, 2022, 09:36:56 AM
As a fellow graduate of education, I firmly agree to this. Teachers are often rewarded poorly and looked down upon when being compared with other professions. Here in my country, teachers go through a lot like traveling to remote areas back and forth for hours each day just to give the children the education they deserve despite being underpaid and ending up having to take from their own pockets just to fill in the lack of resources in a school. Not to mention that on some of these locations, several rebel grouos reside. Plus teachers also become watchers on voters whenever there are elections and often get dragged into political disputes that often end to deaths. My views maybe biased, but all those mentioned above are facts that teachers here in my country has been experiencing ever since I can remember.

On the contrary, I don't think the majority of the Russian government sees this move as stupid though. I mean, Putin alone didn't plan all these and obviously had several minds that helped him create such plans in starting a war, what countermeasures would be done on different scenarios and more. Though these actions I frown upon, because of being immoral anf unfair dor the Ukrainians, I still think there is more to this plan than we we are seeing right now and quite a bit early to call it stupid.
90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Goodbye, privacy, goodbye, it was nice while it lasted. on: April 02, 2022, 03:34:49 PM
Bloodyhell, these people just never run out of things to do in order to satisfy their own agendas. These bastards just sugarcoats the crap they do and get away with it all the time. And just when mass adoption is increasing faster than ever before, this comes. What great timing of coincidence. Not everyone is great with techy stuff and this fact may slow the mass adoption down again. May even make existing crypto enthusiasts to bid farewell. This is really infuriating.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can you help out a newbie trader please? on: April 02, 2022, 02:59:34 PM
I have read the responses and am very thankful for the great advice people have been sharing. Yes, leverage is a no no for beginners but it gives much better experience on trading. I do spot trading of course and I do win a lot at spot. The thing is, spot only is favourable for bigger capital. Which is why, I am trying my best to learn leverage trading and nope, I am not greedy since I never go beyond 10x leverage in fact most of my trades are 5x. And nope, I don't chase pumps.

What I really want is to understand what I should befocusing on first as a trader or which skill should I strive for first. I am bormbarded by the knowledge that are out in the open I am confused what I must prioritize. Is it Fibonacci, price action, orderblocks, amd so on the list just jever ends. I would really appreciate if someone can point me towards the right knowledge I should strive to acquire first.
92  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia Sanctions Will Spur the Adoption of Crypto and Reduce USD Dominance - IMF on: April 02, 2022, 02:25:17 PM
With Russia's experience in the years before the recent sanctions coupled with what they have seen in other cases where sanctions have also been imposed, I do not think Russia hasn't thought of a plan to counter these sanctions prior to their acts of war. That'd be a hell of a stupid move. Not to mention the emergence of crypto currency and it's hastening mass adoption, the Russian government really has dozens of way to go about the sanctions.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Can you help out a newbie trader please? on: April 01, 2022, 03:24:15 PM
As the title says, will any be so kind as to help an aspiring trader like me? I have read and watched dozens of articles and videos online as long they are free but I still suck at trading and the patterns along with the ways never seem to work. I only do 5x-10x leverage which is why I still have a few left to trade but still, these losses are just so discouraging. I've been in groups about trading but instead of learning I get ridiculed. I try my best but all the information available online are soo intimidating and are bombarding me. I do not know where to focus and I am at the verge of giving up. Making this post is my last push to learn trading. Some may suggest paid knowledge or getting myself a mentor but too bad it's pretty expensive for me right now. I just hope someone here can suggest what I should focus on learning about first or what strategies to focus on first as a beginner. Thank you so much for anyone who would help.
94  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The 19 millionth bitcoin will be mined in the next 24 hours. on: April 01, 2022, 02:33:09 PM
Though I have only been here since 2016, I am still very proud that I am one of the people that has been in this industry in its infancy stages and that I have been able to gain Bitcoins and spend bitcoins at a cheap price. Although I regret not hoarding like many people did that are now very profitable if not millionaires and billionaires. Even more amazing is witnessing the mass adoption slowly hapoening aling with the emergence of DeFis, DAOs and MFTs. I have a lot to talk about to my grand children in the future 😅
95  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Biden proposes new minimum tax on billionaires, unrealized gains on: April 01, 2022, 01:05:04 PM

It seems that I may have misunderstood it badly, apologies brother. If the rich they include are people who only have such wealth like $32k it really is wrong and can be very detrimental instead of being helpful. But looking at the bigger picture, if such taxes really did exist even of it is only for the overly rich, we can imagine how huge it would be and would result in many cases of money laundering and decrease in businesses and investments from foreign countries due to this high tax.
96  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Your Kids Aware Of Bitcoin? Teach Them. on: March 31, 2022, 03:03:36 PM
Well, I really don't see the need to teach it right now to my son, even more so in the future. This is because he is still 4 years old at the moment and by the time he grows up, bitcoin along with the entirety of this industry will be more known here in my place so he will probably be able to learn it by himself. And it would be better for that to happen since it would be by his own accord making him become more enthusiastic about learning and earning through countless opportunities within this industry.
97  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Biden proposes new minimum tax on billionaires, unrealized gains on: March 31, 2022, 01:56:32 PM
Finally! A decision that I can happily agree on within the biden administration(although there are good things already nut this is something that is worthy to really be recognised)! I have been waiting for something like this to be aanounced for a looooong time. I wish other countries would also implement such taxes to the overly rich since it will be able to help the country even more without having the low-class to the mid-class people suffer even more! At least these overly rich people can truly contribute to the economy. Just hope that these people won't pull some strings to block this decision.
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A new bitcoin documentary on: March 31, 2022, 12:58:08 PM
Qwell, that's Netflix for you. Always looking out for the best hype to gather as much audience as possible. Not that it's wrong, it's just that sometimes they tend to make small things become bigger whenever they do documentaries and I mean all of their documentaries. Regardless though, it's still interesting for me as a subscriber lol. I just hope they'd be more focus on bringing facts in their documentaries rather than exaggerating for the sake of having audiences.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Danger awaits Metaverse coins on: March 30, 2022, 04:27:35 PM
While I understand your point of view, I cannot fully agree to it since looking at the metaverse projects, despite some being truly crap, some do have great use cases and utility. All throughout the years we have seen projects that have survived the bearish times because of having a great use case/utility and amazing developers that are very good with marketing and managung communities. This is also the same for metaverse projects. In fact, I even see them having more advantage than the altcoins in the past because of the massive hyoe over it today and the increasing numbers of people joining the mass adoption of cryptos. If you look at things in a bigger scale, metaverse will really be difficult if not impossible to get rid off.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe it is to invest in cryptocurrency on: March 30, 2022, 02:57:47 PM
You should be clear with what you are talking about. Crypto currencies as a whole is definitely not a safe haven specially for beginners or even veterans that do not know basic technical analysis or the basic "dos and don'ts" when looking for a good coin to invest in. Heck, even bitcoin cannot be considered a safe investment due to it's volatility. Not unless you are investing money you can forget about and ignore regardless of market conditions. But yes, given the right conditions and the qualities bitcoin has, it is indeed a safe investment to some extent.
