Hi guys ,

I noticed that my old account doesn't work and I cannot login...so it is probably hacked. Can anybody explain how can I retrieve my bitcointalk account?

Thanx!

I don't panic anymore, I'm buying the dip.

My portfolio value fluctuates quite a few thousand sometimes, it doesn't makes me anxious anymore, what goes down must go up. Cheesy

Your money is lost, and it's a very expensive lesson for you, use secure computers, unique passwords and always enable two factor authentication.

Poloniex ain't gonna refund anything as you cannot show you're not the one defrauding them.

Police ain't gonna start an international investigation because so little money and also because you can be the one on both ends of that 'hack'.
805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Poloniex still safe to use? on: June 27, 2017, 01:06:58 PM
Reddit poloniex : https://www.reddit.com/r/PoloniexForum/
combined whit other forums and media sources is clear that there are hundreds of people having problems now.

Everyone should be cautious and don't play whit too mutch money on it for now.
And the fact that no official answer regarding all this issues especially whit withdrawals is very very strange to me. Stay safe

Made a bitcoin withdraw request yesterday, was processed immediately and confirmed next block.

Which coins are giving problems?

807  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I cant send BTC funds in my wallet on: June 23, 2017, 02:35:02 PM
You set up a transaction with a low fee and sent it, if you're lucky you'll get it cleared.

Yesterday, I got a transaction with 15 sat/byte confirmed made two days before, transaction backlog got really low, and some of my inputs were 2 years old or so, that helped for sure.

Now is a good time to try low fee transactions:

Do you know how to do basic forensic analysis on hard drives?

If so, dig the wallet file in the old HDD, install an old version of bitcoin QT, load the wallet, export private keys, load private keys in updated wallet, be rich and tip me some coins. Cheesy
810  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How this vanity address had been generated? on: June 23, 2017, 01:45:43 PM
That's a 'burn address', private key is not known and coins are lost forever.

Google 'how to generate a bitcoin burn address'.
811  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India's small merchants accepts bitcoin on: June 23, 2017, 08:56:36 AM
No one is going to pay in bitcoin, transaction fee will make the price of meals double or more, and if the fee isn't quite right will he let the costumer leave without confirmation, or the client need to stay there for 48 hours waiting for confirmation?

With many low value transactions when the merchant tries to cash out bitcoins he will need to pay a very high fee to do so and his profits are wipe out.

It's just a marketing stunt, merchants have been doing this since 2012, don't know why people still pay attention to it, bitcoin isn't suitable for IRL use.

Thank you for your answer.
Can you tell me where can I find low cap coins ? Where buy this coins ?
And do you have a Portfolio of low caps ? Smiley

Thank you.

Low cap as in low market cap. Smiley

Anything below 1 million has great potential. Cheesy

Always research the project, don't go throwing your money around at everything you find.

When you buy coins for hold, did you store the coins on Bittrex or Poloniex ? Or on a private Wallet ?
I wondering that because if I buy 10 differents coins I need to download the 10 wallets ?

Yes, for long term holding you need to store the coins in your own addresses.

Many of these tokens are built on other systems like OMNI, Counterparty, Ethereum, the number of wallets you need may be very low.

Only install trusted software in your computer, if you are dealing with high amounts, learn how to set up secure off line wallets.
813  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Earned 50$ BTC, Cashed Out 20$ BTC Gone 30$ in transaction fees on: June 23, 2017, 08:07:20 AM
Guys

i earned 50$ btc in 2 days and sent to blockchain

frm there i sent to exodus blockchain cut 12$ in fees

then from exodus i sent to local bitcoins , exodus cut 9$ in fees

from local bitcoins for deposit, they cut 7$ in fees

now m left with around 20$ wtf??? is this happens to all of u guys??

Yes, you should avoid bitcoin for low value transactions, you can use other high volume coins like litecoin, you'll be able to transact for cheap.

Hello,

I'm new on the cryptocurrencies tradding.
I would like to buy coins to maybe do a x100, x1000 in 2-5 years. (I know I can lost this monnaie)

Actually I invested in :

- 20 000 SIA
- 1000 Ripple
- 10 000 Verge

Can you please advice me other currencies that cost less than 0,30$ /u and explain why you think this currency will grow !
Sorry for my bad english.

Thank's in advance for your help.

You need to search low caps, coins you listed ain't gonna x100 or x1000, Ripple market cap already in the billions, Sia is 500 million and I don't see people putting so much money into Verge it will have a multi billion mcap.

BTW, we are all looking for the next x100 coin. Cheesy

With this market I wouldn't be much surprised if it actually happens.
817  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: High school dropout who invested in bitcoin is now a millionaire at 18 on: June 22, 2017, 10:05:08 AM
http://www.c[Suspicious link removed]m/2017/06/20/bitcoin-millionaire-erik-finman-says-going-to-college-isnt-worth-it.html

Erik invested in bitcoin when he was 12 and not is a millionaire at age of 18.  This is a good story for Bitcoin.

But here is something that I do not understand:

An excerpt from the article:
"Eventually he found a buyer for Botangle's technology in January 2015. The investor offered either $100,000 or 300 bitcoin, which had dropped in value at that time to a little more than $200 a coin. He took the lower cash value bitcoin deal because he believed it was "the next big thing."

"My parents asked 'Why don't you take the more cash?"' Finman explained. "But I thought of it more of an investment.""

Why didn't he take the $100K and bought more bitcoins instead?  Granted that there has to be some tax consideration, but tax rate has to be as high as 40% in order for both of the cash option and the bitcoins option to breakeven.  If the tax rate was at 40%, then he could get $60K after tax and would be able to buy 300 bitcoins at the market price ($200 at the time).  Moreover, one day when he sells the bitcoins, he can dedect $200 on each of the bitcoins from the capital gain as cost.

Am I missing something in here?  Don't drop out from high school?   Cheesy

LOL to the last part of not dropping out of school. Even Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg with their wealth will not encourage anyone to drop out of school for any reason. If I had been in his shoes at that age, I would have taken the same decision because at that time, I wont have any need for the money afterall so its an educated guess anyone would have taken and nothing special happen just that he took the decision more favorable to him.

Also Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg dropped out of Harvard, not some shitty high school. Cheesy Cheesy

30,000,000 USD /73,228,000 tokens = 0.41 usd per token
Now the price is 1 usd, could be a big dump when they recieve the token...

And in terms of bitcoin or ether?

Did people bought the tokens with USD?

Is there a market STORJ/USD?
819  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Looking for a cheap, reliable VPN on: June 22, 2017, 09:39:13 AM
Check this out: http://cloudatcost.com/

I don't think you'll find cheaper, they say it's a one time payment but eventually they'll charge a 'maintaining fee', even so, most likely, still the cheapest you'll find.
820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are there people here from 2013 who are not millionaires now? on: June 22, 2017, 09:32:08 AM
Here since 2013 and not millionaire, not even close. Cheesy

I made some really bad investments, lost my coins and my motivation, been slowly collecting for the past years and with the recent rise my net value increased a lot, not a life changing amount but it's getting there.

I believe the vast majority of people from 2013 are not millionaires, specially after April 2013.
