801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone mining SIGT on Supnova? Problems on: August 07, 2017, 06:17:08 PM
They have backend issues from time to time and they just pushed out a notice that they are aware of the issue and are working on it. I do not believe I have ever had shares lost when they have these issues so I would not worry too much, they will most likely be online shortly. I was able to get in slowly a few minutes ago and I see my hashrate and coins accumulating, so I would say not to worry!
802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Signatum (skunk) ccminer-krnlx 30+mh 1070, 50+ mh 1080ti [FREE,OPENSOURCE] on: August 07, 2017, 06:10:14 PM
Thank you so much for this! My 1080tis are currently pushing 53-54 MHs and are running great! Hopefully SIGT stays stable enough for now for us all to continue mining it. Does anyone know when the next Block Reward reduction is? It is still currently 2500 I believe so the upcoming reduction will probably increase the price due to speculation, don't you think? Again, thank you dev for you great work - it is much appreciated and very good!
803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New Rosewill Server Mining Case UPDATE got it today with new pics. on: August 07, 2017, 04:27:44 PM
Man these are clean and relatively inexpensive.. they look a hell of a lot nicer than my janky cobbled together wooden rigs. And it looks like they would allow for much easier moving. I should probably grab one and try it out.. then again I already have my ROI so it would probably be dumb to add expenses when I do not need to. Anyway, thanks for sharing - I will keep these in mind for the future.
804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: August 07, 2017, 04:23:57 PM
It's easy to be smart for the historical data. ETH was worth 5$ over a year ago and people rushed buying graphic cards from spring 2017 when the prices were allready high.
In my eyes You are actually comparing mining to gambling.
Are you saying mining is gambling? Because I very very much disagree. With mining I have something that has a value (computers and cards) that is also producing something with a speculative value. Once I realize that gain on the speculative value I then have even more value. I could easily sell my entire setup for close to what I paid for it - there was a time when I could have sold it for probably close to double. I do not view mining as gambling in any way. It is a business investment and must be treated as such.
805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy when there is Blood in the streets: BCC on: August 07, 2017, 04:11:24 PM
I am with you there - I still think BCC is way too overvalued. I am not going to put any significant position into it until it cools down. Unlike a lot of other volitile alts that have promising futures, I still thing BCC is just.. a shitcoin honestly. Maybe that is what people want me/us to think while they accumulate it then pump it or promote it as the better bitcoin alternative. We will see. However I have decently happy to sit out and miss this train.
806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fifth alt coin thread last four got too big. on: August 07, 2017, 04:05:52 PM
See i dont understand yet why people are using nicehash as a large mining operation.... still very confused by this, i have personally messaged a few of the larger mining operations i have come across over the past few months and talked to them to pick their brains to grow my operation in the right direction, but about half of them settle on using nicehash for daily mining, i still truly dont understand this.... why give up so much earnings over the ability to get paid in btc instantly nearly.... ? Can someone go into more details on this, im just not understanding it...

I have Nicehash along with a bunch of other pools installed on my awesomeminer and just going off profits nicehash is always in the bottom of the list for every coin they host...
For some, the trading and managing coins, wallets, exchanges is probably a pretty daunting task especially if they have a few people working on a larger farm. I can tell you that working by myself getting my 52 GPUs up and running an stable was a crazy second full time job the past few months. I have been fairly lucky that things are running nearly 100% smoothly now and I barely have to do anything - but for people who are expanding rapidly still I can very much so see the allure of simply seeing BTC deposited into their wallet.
807  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you primarily manage and monitor your portfolio? on: August 07, 2017, 03:52:54 PM
Altpocket is a very good one. Sadly my account seems broken and I cannot login anymore.. guess I'll have to make a new account.

CountMyCrypto is another very good one, simple and very nice looking. IMO it is one of my favorites just because of the simple design, which is not to say it looks bad!

CoinTracking.info is really good for much more details - messier interface but that just comes with the territory of having so much more data and information
808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I love and hate altcoins on: August 07, 2017, 03:47:16 PM
Without alts the market would not be what it is today. Imagine how boring it would be just trading a single pair. There is not much to do. New alts bring new ideas, new money, new opportunities. Alts push innovation as well. Bitcoin just would not be what it is today without alts. Sure there are a lot of shitcoin clones that are worthless, but there are some extremely good and promising projects out there. I would advise staying away from the bad looking ones..
809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: August 07, 2017, 02:12:02 PM
Another thing to consider is if you would rather use the money to buy the coins.
BTC is up 5.4x and ETH is up 23.9x within a year. Would have made more from holding coins than mining.
Ugh yeah this hurts to much. I spent $20,000 on mining equipment. Sure, I got in early and it has since ROI'd - but man I do not even want to know how much that would have been worth if I had bought between ETH BTC and LTC. Actually yes I do kind of want to know. And I believe the number is somewhere around $60,000. Yikes. Based off of this information I should probably sell my spare car and dump the money straight into ETH and or BTC and buy a newer car in a year or so with the crazy profits!
810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: what are some good riser cards and would a riser be better then a x16 slot or x8 on: August 07, 2017, 02:04:15 PM
No, the number does not matter at all. In order for the GPU to mine only a tiny tiny amount of data is actually sent to the GPU. The GPU processes that bit of data for anywhere from 1-30 seconds - that is where all the real work is done. A PCIe x1 riser is overkill for this. The amount of bandwidth is trivial so it does not matter at all, and buying a larger x8 or even x16 riser will not effect mining performance at all.

I work's fine for me, and you are the first one to report this issue.

Please check your username and password.

I log in fine, but when I do I get a "Whoops, looks like something went wrong." with a red banner at the top..

Aha okey that's a bug, is it on every page or just the investment page? please send me your username and I will take a look at it.
I can't get anywhere - I get it straight after I log in. I think the username is soothaa
812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Where o can still buy mining rigs? on: August 04, 2017, 03:12:10 PM
Totally depends on where you are located, what your goals are, and what you want. What coin are you looking to mine? How much do you want to spend? How much does your power cost? Do you have noise level constraints? You would need to know all of this. GPUs are pretty hard to come by these days as are ASICs. Are you looking to make this a small hobby or have a small farm? Also where you are located could change things a lot as well.
813  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Poloniex Holding Coins! I am tired of this! on: August 04, 2017, 12:30:51 PM
Polo is having serious issues and has been having them for weeks if not months. Seriously, there are so many red flags that they are insolvent, have been hacked, or are pulling an exit scam (least likely in my opinion). There really is nothing other than to do other than wait for the withdrawal to happen. But if either a hack or they are insolvent is the case, they are most likely using / waiting new deposits or trading fees to facilitate awaiting transfers that are too big.
814  Economy / Exchanges / Re: poloniex alert on: August 04, 2017, 12:28:28 PM
Guys please stop using them. This has all the flags that Cryptsy had years ago. I had 23 BTC stored there. Then they got "hacked" and the owner mysteriously disappeared. Seriously this is exactly the same. Slow/missing deposits, delays, no support, removal of features, questionable decisions all over the place. Seriously GET OUT NOW WHILE YOU CAN. Bittrex works great and has no red flags at this time. They do not have the same number of coins supported, but having your coins is better than not!
815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX Vega Rumored to Hash 70+ Mh/s on: August 03, 2017, 08:48:47 PM
This would instantly make mining way profitable again at $400 a card.

70 is more than double. 100 would be over triple. We will hear more news very soon and may be buying these things like nes-minis
Not necessarily. Think about it. If 100,000 of these things come online within the next month or so the Ethereum network hashrate will likely triple or even more than that as well. This means the mining difficulty with skyrocket and while you may then be mining at 2-3x the speed of what you were with your RX 570s, those will only be pulling in 1/3 or even less than they were before! You will pretty much need to get your hands on these right away if you ever want a return on your investment.
816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX Vega Rumored to Hash 70+ Mh/s on: August 03, 2017, 08:40:47 PM
so.. is it gonna do 1400 sols/s per card as well?.. Roll Eyes
I doubt it. The Ethereum hashing increase is from the new memory interface utilizing the HBM2 memory type. This is what will radically speed up the ETH mining. However the core is most likely nearly the same or hopefully close to the nVidia 1080 ti, so if this card got around 700 SOLs that would be quite a bargin as the card is about half the cost of the 1080 TI.

Faster ETH
Same Equihash
A little less power
30-50% less price (depending)

All those stack up for a hell of a deal!

818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fifth alt coin thread last four got too big. on: August 03, 2017, 08:34:17 PM
but both can be crushed by US Gov.  and unfortunately bittrex has given the gov and lawyers reason to go after them  by they way they handled this break.

Of course I am not in the know and for all I know bitter and coinbase both are in the us gov 's pocket and will be protected while btc-e in putties' pocket got crushed on a very good date a few days before many many many bcc coins were created.  the timing of the gov shutdown of btc-e shows the us gov aint too dumb as you may think bro.    how many bcc will they now grab?
I was unaware that Bittrex did anything wrong.. I got my BCC unlike most other places who kept it or simply ignored it. Did you mean another exchange or is this something I am not aware of going on with Bittrex? Are you referring to their keeping the trading close to the public yet allowing the supposedly "insider trading"?

To be honest I think they are the once who have handled this the best.. I got my BCC in my account right away and figured the wallet would be down for a period while they figured out who had what, brought the market online, and did this that and the other.
819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Lbry real profit? Is whattomine misleading? on: August 03, 2017, 08:29:01 PM
The problem is that there are some large pools that switch around to the current "most profitable" coin every few minutes or hours. This causes massive swings in the hashrate and thus the difficulty. So you will see that LBRY is suddenly worth say $50 per day and the hashrate is -42% and then suddenly a few minutes later it is at $18 per day and hashrate is at +22%. That is what happens when these big pools switch around to different coins. My policy is to mine what I feel is the most promising projects and switch between those as they will most likely perform better in the long term.

Do you mine  lbry and not sell? Keep for the future?

I have mined a bit however I have sold most in order to pay the bills. I will mine again once my other coins die down in profitability. LBC is way way undervalued in my opinion. I am holding a trading stash in reserve because I think this is an incredibly promising project. The only reason I do not mine it consistently is the hammering LBC gets from the large pool swings and it would hurt selling it because I believe in it. My other mining I do not believe have the potential that LBC does so I continue to mine them to pay off the miners.
820  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Selling Over $10k to Non US Citizen on: August 03, 2017, 07:03:27 PM
Why would you have to do that? A cash transaction is a cash transaction. People make them all the time. This whole government tracking large purchases and crypto worth $nn,nnn+ is insane. If they ask, you say you sold an item and that is that. You will probably have to report capital gains if and or when you deposit that money into your bank account, but that is another story. Good luck, that big of a cash transaction can be scary!
