801  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scammers won't mind kicking those who are already down on: September 05, 2023, 02:17:26 PM
This is very common, unfortunately not all new beginners will know about the cruel ways scammers use to hunt their victims, this is why we need warnings like this on Bitcointalk forum here and there, every time bad things happened, like attacks or hacks, scammers will pretend to care and use that against people.

For example Stake online casino was hacked and immediately on Twitter some scammers are pretending to be from Stake, promising to pay all those who are affected back, they drop links to click and follow some procedure, thing is that procedure is a way to make people lose more money.

The quicker people realize this the better, it's something that every crypto investors should be expecting, be careful on social media, and before you do anything always be curious if you are doing the right thing.
802  Economy / Economics / Re: Having a problem a Personal Finance? on: September 05, 2023, 01:39:03 PM
I can't count how many times I have started over again, people say failure is not an option but the truth is failure is how we learn and if we are lucky to battle by standing up again we become better at what we do.

There are businesses I've started with the hope of getting a better life and it crumbled, I tried other things and the same thing happened, the only reason why I am still standing now is because I don't know how to give up.

Many people believe that road to success is the hardest but most people can't even maintain their present gift, even if they manage to get to better places there is a chance that they will fail and return to their old life again.

Managing wealth is even harder than trying to make a better change in life, when that change comes it's your duty to lock all doors to make it stay and live with you until your death time comes.
803  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: September 05, 2023, 12:00:07 PM
It's the other way around for me, I don't gamble if I don't have sufficient money, it shows that I can't afford to gamble, gambling only come to my mind when I have spare money that I have nothing to use for.

I like using $20 - $30 for gambling only when I don't have something I need money to fix or solve, and this $30 doesn't come every time, so I gamble only when I make this extra money, if I don't then there is no gambling for that week.

I escaped from gambling desires and it was not easy for me, now I have understand that gambling is created for gamblers to lose their money and win very often, this is why I prefer trying my luck more with crypto investment than gambling.
804  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: September 05, 2023, 09:45:30 AM
I have been following information regarding this Stake hack and all I can say is those hackers are not small time hackers, they are professionals, the way they move the funds is mind blowing, they know what they are doing.

I think the North Korea hackers aka the Lazarus Group are back in business, this group have been behind series of hacks in crypto space this year and years back, this is just what I think about, but the truth still remains, we don't know who is truly responsible for this hack.

What's mind-disturbing is Stake is pretending like everything is fine when nothing is fine, their tweet on Twitter is nonsense and they are receiving negative responses from their customers already.

I am afraid that this will continue to be the major step back for crypto, as none hacks have been happening with Fiat like how it's been happening with crypto, it's disturbing, something that could set back crypto mass adoption.
805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Typical scenario when you are losing on: September 04, 2023, 10:41:01 AM
There is no one anyone can feel entertained without anything in their stomach, that is something else, if you found yourself with such a habit, you are no more enjoying your gambling, it's turning into something else, and you need to stop.

I derive pleasure from playing games online, either free to play, gambling or play to earn type of games, but when I feel sleepy that's the end, no matter what I have in mind my sleep is very important for me, if you are losing sleep for gambling purposes, fam you are on your road to addiction.

No matter how much we love gambling, we need to take the proper approach and have live a good way while we do it, if gambling is taking most of your thinking that is something else, since it's luck-based, I expect gamblers to handle this as high risk way to make money.
806  Economy / Economics / Re: What did elon do wrong in Twitter on: September 04, 2023, 09:32:00 AM
I am in no position to judge someone like Elon Musk, because since the day I was born I've never build anything that's useful for the masses, I always laugh at people who judge those who are 1000 levels above them, like what the hell?

It's too early to call someone like him (Elon) a dumb person because people like him always have their plans and goals, while worrying about if they do something wrong or right why not worry about ourselves?

It's only those who have done something for the world can talk about Elon Musk, you can't be a empty barrel and come out in the open saying that this man ruined Twitter or something, line what the hell did you know anyway?

807  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Honestly, Bitcoin fits in this gap more than others. on: September 04, 2023, 09:10:35 AM
Bitcoin is not a privacy coin and it's traceable on the blockchain, but it's very hard to hunt down someone who have never use any centralized exchange before, I believe the only way to find down a bitcoin address owner is if they have passed KYC on any online exchange before, that will easily give them away.

For someone who is never a fan of centralized exchange it will be hard, now as for Fiat currency, every money belongs in the Bank and to the Bank, it's where we all keep money, Your bank account has your name and information on it, you do anything bad you can be hunt down through you bank details and moreover Banks are all centralized, controllable by the government.

It's very clear why the government still doesn't like Bitcoin till date, Bitcoin isn't physical, it has no particular number printed on each Bitcoin, they are just in numbers, and there is no way to know if Joe's Bitcoin years ago is the same Bitcoin I bought off-exchange and laying in my wallet right now.

Decentralized is enough to piss the government off Bitcoin.
808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on How to Stay Safe and Avoid Scams When Gambling Online on: September 04, 2023, 08:22:37 AM
I can see that OP is trying to hard to stay safe when using any online casino but the truth is so many online casinos have different payment options by default, the moment you open an account on the casino you already have the payment options available to you.

You also said that an email address is all you need to log into your online casino, hope you've considered that email can be hijacked too, so it's better to add an extra security layer for your account like 2FA or verification code.

Also you need to understand that every online casinos out there are all centralized, this shows that they can decide to ask you for KYC verification one day if you want to get your funds out of the casino, failure to do this is goodbye to your money, until you are ready to pass the verification.

Never ever trust any online casino when they don't ask for your KYC information, they have the ability to ask for it, but now might not be the right time yet, and this doesn't mean they won't ask you one day
809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I will pass KYC later is a bad idea on: September 03, 2023, 04:21:51 PM
If there's a casino giving many excuses to not verify the gambler's KYC, it's mean the casino is sketchy and might likely scam. This is why we should gamble on a trusted and reputable in this forum, so when you have this problem, you can contact the representative in this forum, if they not respond or not make you satisfied, you can create an accusation against them.

Pass KYC later isn't a bad idea, not everyone want to verify their account.
I'm lost, if a casino is giving many excuses how will the gambler knew its legit? A casino might reject your identity maybe because the document you submitted are outdated or looks not like original copy, etc, there is no way you can call such platform a scam because they don't pass your verification, I mean, my passport is different from others passport.

Some even have weird national identity cards, I remember using one in 2018 and many exchange used to reject the ID, I don't blame them but I never called them scam, later I got my drivers license and I use that to pass every KYC requirement, never been rejected once.

To me passing KYC later is not a smart idea, if you don't want to verify your account do no make deposit on them, you can have difficulty passing the KYC verification even if the online casino is a very popular platform.
810  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake phishing on: September 03, 2023, 09:19:22 AM
Stake is not safe or you are the one that's not very careful with your account information? I think you are looking for something you can't find, Instead I suggest you check yourself very well, something is wrong with whatever you are using, either a compromised email account or your PC is infected with some nasty malware.

Every phishing isn't the platforms fault, it's from your own side, if you think I am wrong you can drop some screenshots and I will prove that you are the one wrongly accusing Stake, if this is a viral threat you won't be the only one complaining such thing to the team.

If an hacker is on loose, aiming for Stake users only, by now there will be more than five people complaining the same to Stake team, they will take action instantly and notify their customers, but it's just you.
811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is horse racing so unpopular here and a bit of extra feedback on: September 03, 2023, 07:58:22 AM
Thanks for opening a discussion thread concerning horse racing, the thing is I find horse racing to be more complicated than other sports, it's less popular and I have to bet on an animal that I have no information about, there is no way to check the animal strength and health, there is no data of such.

Also the litter I've heard about such game is not very good, animals are treated in an ill manner to make them win races by force, they are injected with drugs for adrenaline end results, these things make me see horse racing as too risky.

Moreover, everyone is a fan of a particular sport, horse racing isn't just one for me, in fact, any sport that has to do with animals is not for me, I prefer sports that are carried out by humans themselves.
812  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A must read if you are running Crypto wallet on PC on: September 03, 2023, 07:46:06 AM
Here’s an example post on a well know bitcoin forum. It may actually look quite familiar …:

Oh god, I remember this. It's quite sad that some people took the bait when a lot of members [on the mentioned topic] have already warned others not to download the file since OP there was being suspicious -- there is no need to place them in a rar file + newbie

Like I used to use WinRar since I first owned a PC and didn't even have the intention to replace WinRar.
But seeing that Winrar is quite vulnerable like that, then 7zip is a good choice for me to switch from Winrar. Of course there will be a few more vulnerabilities, rather than risk it is better to use one that has been proven safe.

It's not the first time as well, see: Hackers Exploit 19-Year-Old WinRAR Vulnerability

However, if someone likes to download random files on the same device they do important stuff, I'm afraid it defeats the purpose of switching.
It's a good practice to run two different OS on your PC, one for the important stuff and the other for surging webs and downloading things, this is what I do now, I have Windows OS and Linux running on NVME 2TB drive.

Some people still run free version of AntiVirus on their PCs today, and some are using a crack version of software, thinking they are smart, funny thing is cracking tools have their flaws too.

Most cracked software are available through torrent downloading websites and they always have outdated software cracked, this is also part of the problem.

Say No To the Following on PC.

1. Downloading anything from torrent links.
2. Using cracked software on PC
3. Running cracked games on PC.
4. Using an outdated Antivirus Software.
5. Visiting every websites especially those will hundreds of Ads.
813  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Behaviours of gamblers you dislike. on: September 01, 2023, 07:07:32 AM
There is this one thing I hate about gambling and it almost make me a no gambler at the time, until I found out that getting addicted to gambling is by choice.

Married gamblers that became irresponsible because they believe that gambling was the only way they could have a good home and good life, and as time goes on they end up losing their home, the wife and the children.

After all this they still learn nothing, they don't feel bad with the decision they made, like they don't care about the children they had with their wife.

It's fine to make mistakes, but not learning from the mistake is very bad, this is a true life experience, one in the family and one outside the family, they acted the same way, they show no remorse, why should their gambling lives affect the future of their children?
814  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Irrefutable evidence that mixers alone are unsuitable for money laundering! on: August 31, 2023, 10:29:49 AM
I knew this since the days when mixers are still new, I know that the law will always have their ways on getting users arrested when they launder money using these services, I would rather use an anonymous crypto currency that has top-notch privacy activated like Monero, Tectum's SoftNote, and Aleph Zero ( privacy feature still in work), I think these options are better than mixing services.

I also believe that privacy coins will have the biggest problem with SEC and other in future, because of the capability they have and how helping it will be for those that knows nothing than laundering money.
815  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Where to purchase bitcoin to avoid being a victim of fraud on: August 31, 2023, 09:37:44 AM
If you have no problem passing KYC verification you should start with Binance exchange, it's one of the top exchanges in crypto space, you can use their p2p service too if all you have is Fiat currency.

Make sure you read their rules, to avoid losing money when using peer to peer trade, do not include any crypto related words in description when you want to send Fiat from your bank to another person you are linked to, this is for avoiding any future problems with your banks in case they want to deal with crypto traders and investors.

The best exchanges I can recommend to any crypto newbies is Binance, Coinbase, Kucoin ,and Huobi.

Hardware wallet is the most recommended crypto wallet but if you still can't afford one right now you should get Electrum Wallet.
816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sometimes the win is right in front of us-little tip to sport bettors on: August 31, 2023, 08:37:08 AM
Why did you include professional gamblers? Are you saying that they don't know about this features? I doubt this, professional gamblers always know how to be on a better chance of winning their bet.

The platform you are talking about have good feature that can help bettors to make the best choices but obviously this is still a game of luck theory, even the best-performing players still sometimes fumble, this result into bettors losing their money.

This gives an upper hand against those who blindly gamble on sports, I am not saying it's a good feature but many knew this already and they still keep losing, it's not the end to your losing game.
817  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Constant wins in the casino for several days, then constant losses. Noticed?! on: August 31, 2023, 07:49:16 AM
I saw every win from casinos as, if you don't win how will you become more greedy to keep gambling? The winning from online casinos is like a bribe to keep you coming back for more, so if you keep winning your bets you should have saw it coming that losing is not far from you anymore.

It's easier for smart gamblers to take precautions after every win, take their gains off the casino and play with the little they have left or even call it a day, until another time.

When you start hitting the jackpot, always have it in mind that it's just your lucky day, Do not feel like you are special, or you have some luck mojo sent into you from heaven above, It's a trap.
818  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your reasons for adopting cryptocurrency? on: August 30, 2023, 02:12:27 PM
To become financially free and to keep my money far away from the centralized banks and the government, Bitcoin fits my need that's why I enjoyed researching Bitcoin before I started investing in Bitcoin, I am just grateful that Bitcoin hasn't failed me, it was a very big battle for me, believing in something that hasn't been proven that it will survive in the future, I'm glad I believe in myself and I keep pursuing the goals.

Today my life gets better with Bitcoin and crypto investment compare to few years ago, and this is how I am able to live a good life presently, if I was out of Bitcoin I don't know what would be the foundation of my future today.

Fear of missing out is not the oy reason why people are investing in Bitcoin, what is there to miss out if you don't even know that Bitcoin existed? Many people want to make more money as their jobs isn't paying them enough, they look for means to invest too.
819  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Face unlock on bitcoin wallet devices on: August 30, 2023, 12:30:17 PM
Fingerprint is more secured than face recognition methods to unlocking your smartphones, and all together, it's not safe to rely on both when you have some Bitcoin in your mobile wallet, it's better to invest on a hardware wallet and move your Bitcoin out of your mobile wallet into the hardware wallet.

Mobile wallets are good for daily transactions and I only leave some few hundreds in dollars worth of Bitcoin on such wallets, even if something happens it's just $100+ worth of Bitcoin anyway.

Some people are trying so hard to avoid investing on a hardware wallet, my advice is it's not worth the risk, hardware wallet is the best place to keep your Bitcoin for long term, forget face ID locks and fingerprint security.
820  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can money be saved in gambling sites? on: August 30, 2023, 11:44:48 AM
When you start storing money on a online casino what type of agreement you signed with the platform owners? Are you given the blank check book for withdrawal whenever you are ready to withdraw? Are you given an ATM card? MasterCard or other Debit card? Nothing I guess, is there any Bank related with the casino name?

It's like you are an alien or a newborn baby that came out of space, you can't tell it to my face that you know nothing about this, that you don't know this is impossible, casinos have nothing to do with payment solutions platforms where you can use to shop online or anything, they are far away from Banks and online payment solutions.

I feel like OP is intentionally just messing with us, he pretends to be a fool all because he is out of ideas on what to post on the forum.
