Do you honestly believe that any college will allow ANY bitcoin mining rig on their premises without a UL listed tag of sorts affixed to the unit? Do you honestly believe that any higher education institute will allow an unlist UL device to be run unattended, especially since they're known to put off excess heat?
Do you honestly believe that any college administration actually would be able to actively enforce that policy? I mean they have policies against alcohol and drug use currently - and college students ignore those already. Apologies if I came across terse, firefop. (Ironic! I just realized that fire is part of your pseudonym)
I swear I'm not trying to be a punk on this point... but I've been through the UL certification process with several products and have finally decided that except when it comes to things transformers and power supplies its useless. We actually had a completely safe on demand hydrogen device that we intended to install and maintain on buses... we wasted almost 100,000 dollars before we decided that they weren't going to certify due to politics and rolled up the project. To be fair they did help us resolve a couple of safety issues in the early revisions... but the final device wouldn't explode (or even break) when we created a spark in the main hydrogen collection chamber... sure it would disable the device and cause it stop functioning (and to leak distilled water - woohoo). Which was why they claimed it didn't qualify, because it might drip water on other engine components if it failed. But then I'm pretty sure you can hose down a running engine with no ill side effects... so whatever. I respect your posts and replies, firefop. They have merit. I understand the enforcing aspect, but they have the rules written down nonetheless to cover their asses.

Therefore, each time that BFL sells a unit without FCC certification, they are breaking the law and will be fine for each offence.
I'm pretty sure that doesn't bode will with Sonny's probation officer, for he's not about to allow a felon on probation to operate outside the law, for his ass, too, is on the line.
How the fuck Sonny Vleisides was able to get only a $100 fine, time served, and probation for ripping off poor little old ladies to the tune of tens of millions of dollar is beyond me.
Hell, a majority of the founders of Laissez Faire City are yet to be paid as promised by Sonny and the gain. I bet they would love to hear that Sonny's now flush with cash and soon will be paying off the millions he owes to them.
Josh, tell me more about all those units that were sent out with only 1000 chips total on hand. While you're typing, I check to see if there's any barns on Google Maps of which I can steal the wood being that it's night and all.

Pot kettle black.
Once again, I've demonstrated numerous times where you've lied. You've yet to provide a single shred of evidence where I've lied. Just your own little fantasy land and boo-hooing about being such a dumbass and having it pointed out for the world to see. So go on, prove I've lied... show me some proof. Hasn't happened yet, and my post history is open to all... yet in all this time, you've been unable to come up with a single lie. On the other hand, it's easy to pick out your lies... takes about 2 minutes of searching your ridiculous posts. Fine! Lets prove that Josh lied. Just once! (for starters) Remember this post, Joshy Boy? When is the Jalapeno getting FCC approval?
Maybe two weeks? We are waiting for the test lab to issue the test report. With the bump in power requirements on the MR and the new screen, we had to make changes, although the new screen is already certified. We are doing all the devices at once, since they all share the same board. As many times as I, among others, have asked kindly to pleading with insults, you've never addressed this issue on this forum or on BFL's forum. It was proven that the FCC does not have a single record of any certifications pertaining to BF Labs, et al., ergo you lied about BFL having miners tested of which you were awaiting reports. Now, you claim to have have addressed all concerns yet, again, there's no record of you addressing the FCC issue. Basically, you post lie after lie, with nothing to back it up... I just backed it up. Now, prove me wrong. Does it hurt, knowing that no matter how much you struggle with your mental state, and how much you scream your conspiracy theories that nobody actually gives a shit about you or what you have to say? I've yet to read past the post I'm quoting with this post, but I did see/read at least two accounts by users who seem to differ, ergo another lie on your part. I'm not done reading, but I bet I'll find other lies stated my you in this thread as I read further, and I'll happily point them out for you and all to read. BTW, if nobody, including you, doesn't give a shit about what I say, then why prey tell are you addressing me?

Sorry Phin, the only piece of shit here is you. Basically, you post lie after lie, with nothing to back it up... but if you yell loudly enough, maybe someone will listen.
Unfortunately, it's just the regular crew of nutbags and tin foil hat types, of which you are the kind. Nobody takes you seriously anymore, Bruno (did they ever?); they just laugh at your ineptitude and constant ranting and railing while the evidence continues to shine a blinding light of obviousness on your stupidity.
You are pathetic and as time continues to march forward, you just keep showing the whole community how pathetic you truly are. Your machinations are reaching a fever pitch now, and I find it incredibly hilarious. You reach farther and farther to try to pin something on BFL and you keep failing. Bruno, you are a true piece of shit, in ever sense of the word. Good luck with your nutbaggery, you're going to need it. Does it hurt, knowing that no matter how much you struggle with your mental state, and how much you scream your conspiracy theories that nobody actually gives a shit about you or what you have to say? It must suck to yell so loud and nobody stopping to care.
PS - Do your customers (Do you even have any?) know you're so unbalanced and irrational? Do they know they are dealing with an unstable person who's only ability to make ends meet is to steal barn wood from abandoned property and resell it?
Quoted! Copied! Printed out! Now I'm jerking off all over the copy. Seriously, I truly am jacking off over your words. Typing this with my left hand, while jacking off with my right. Now switching hands. Here I cummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. BRB! Getting a smoke and fresh cup of coffee before I Google Map my next barn wood heist.

Hence no UL listed or FCC certifications. The fuckin' machines won't pass! What next, a unit catches fire in a Bitcoiner's dorm killing several people? Or a unit catching fire in somebody's home killing an infant? Not a single principal at BFL will be able to claim that they weren't aware, for I've personally stuck this issue up their asses no less than two dozen times. BFL's holier then thou attitude is about to nip them in their asses.

So, the same person who was convicted of fraud is now a "high-level executive" in BFL. Sonny. By the way, in an entity such as BFL, speaking of "levels" of executives, "chief executives", etc. is a distinction without a difference.
What was your point again?
Don't use "CEO" if he's not actually in charge? He is in charge. So is his step father. So is Josh Inaba. So is Nasser. They all are in charge, make decisions, and perform tasks. Sonny Vleisides is the mastermind behind BFL, in the sense he puts the wheels in motions as to what goes where, having experts(?) in place doing the actual work. Sonny Vleisides used the pseudonym Sonny K. when BFL used to post on this forum and elsewhere before Josh Zerlan was officially on board. Since Sonny Chris Vleisides has the same namesake as his photographer step-dad, either one could have filed the Inc. papers in Wyoming, but I'm leaning toward Jr. doing it if there's no SSN attached to said document. The elder Vleisides would have had no reason for getting involved with Bitcoin, having his own business concerns on the line if it should exploded, coupled with knowing Sonny's prior involvements. Remember, this is the same guy who was able to attend college using his step-dads' dime, but opt to say, "Fuck you, step-dad and mom! I'm going to see the world, then hook up with my real Daddy-O and show you fuckers how it's done." Sonny's half-brother, Andrew Vleisides, had an account at Mt Gox, as shown in the infamous dump, of which I have a copy. Sonny also had an account, both of which I have, and can easily prove again. Sonny Vleisides was well-versed in digital currencies prior to the advent of Bitcoin. The bullshit laid out by Ownby recently about BFL developing FPGAs for some other purposed is simply that--BULLSHIT! When I was 8 years old, I stole from my mom's piggy bank a mess of half dollars. I hid them under a rock in the alley. I then recruited a friend to accompany me for a trek through the alley where he was able to witness that I truly did find said coins under a rock in the alley if I was ever to be questioned. I was questioned, yet still exposed, having to admit the truth. Compare that story about Josh Zerlan who just so happened to work across the street from one of BFL's original address, of which can still be seen here: https://bitpay.com/featured-merchantsButterflyLabs.com 25 E 12th Street Kansas City, MO 64106 At the time, Josh pretended to be an outsider trying to get to the bottom of BFL, reporting back here to the Bitcoin community. At one point, people started stating that they were coming to KC to see for themselves if this new BFL enterprise is viable. It was at that juncture that Josh adamantly stated that that won't be necessary, for he was in KC. In fact, to his amazement, they were across the street. He saw their headquarters outside his window. All he had to do was walk down a flight of stairs, cross the street, and snap some pics, of which he did, later posting said images on this very board. Fuckin' amazing! Ownby recently stated that there are about 10 (taxing memory 5-10?) owners of BFL, of which I believe Josh is one of them. That is the only fucking way he would be able to get away with posting the way he has--as an asshole. Sonny Vleisides, fresh outta jail, is home with his mommy, moping around the house. His mommy, feeling sorry for his lonely son Sonny Boy, opted to sign him up to some online dating site. Sonny meets the women of his dreams--his cousin--and have a baby, and is now on the path of righteousness. Meanwhile, back on webspawner.com, of which Sonny Vleisides owns and operates, a myriad of lottery scams can be found. Somebody explain to me how this act ALONE doesn't break his probation, of which is due to end this coming September. Also, somebody tell me how it's possible that the Bitcoin miners Butterfly Labs its assembling do not require FCC certification of which Josh Zerlan stated was forthcoming in-two-mother-fuckin'-weeks TM. Also, somebody explain to me how Jody, who sits next to a window overlooking the assembly floor, not know what is, or isn't taking place there. At the beginning of this post, I stated that Sonny K. and Sonny Vleisides is the same person. But BFL can't now come out and state the same for it would prove that they are liars, something they adamantly claim they are not. For months, now, BFL has stated that thousands of chips are about to be shipped to their facility, yet only about 1000 have been used in products to date. Yet they are in the chip selling business while miners have been waiting for product going on over a year now. If I ran my business utilizing only 5% of their business practices, I would be ruined. So would any other business. Yet, here they are, lying and acting like pieces of shit, amassing more revenue to be used as R&D of which is illegal as far as how their business is structured. Only one word describes the whole ordeal. Madness!

According to Josh, it was a requirement, hence promising in-two-weeksTM, thereabouts, they'll have certificate in hand.
As far as your UL statement. Then why do TV makers have UL tags affixed to the back of their TVs when they're already covered from doing such via the power cord?
Did you forget about the CE certification, or do you have a logical reason for that too not being required?
BTW, I forgot about the permit that wasn't pulled during the remodeling of their new facility. Prey tell the reason why they didn't get one or needed it.
I swear you and I have been through this before B. UL is an optional certification... it certifies that a device isn't going to melt down, explode or light itself on fire. You get UL certifications on transformers because no retailer would sell them without since they handle attachment to the electric grid. Anything using an external or aftermarket power supple to convert AC to DC doesn't require (and in fact wouldn't qualify for) UL certification. As for CE certification... who cares - this product is produced in USA and has no reason to file certs with every self-important regulatory board on the planet. Exactly what permit are you talking about. If you're talking about the customization of the interior of their new location. Depending on the location permits might not be required. You are not for example required to get permits for freestanding non-load bearing walls built inside an existing structure as long as they don't have internal power conduits or water/gas pipes inside of them. It's quite common for companies here to purchase an overlarge warehouse, build a U shaped balcony around 3 sides of it with work/storage areas over top and offices underneath... they do this because they can use the existing power/water/gas in the warehouses external walls and don't have to get permits for the build then. Addressing the UL aspect: I'll assume every college dorm has a policy in place similar to the following: http://www.mvcc.edu/housing/summer-2013-room-agreementCooking is not allowed in the Residence Hall rooms or public areas. The possession or use of ANY heat producing cooking appliance is prohibited. Exceptions to this are 1- the use of the microwave oven provided in each Residence Hall, 2- the use of a Microwave only in the New Hall Gathering Area and 3- the kitchen equipment available for student use. Air conditioners, space heaters, coffee pots, electric blankets, heating pads, holiday lights, microwave ovens in student bedrooms, lava lamps, halogen lamps, neon signs, power tools and any other electrical appliance/device that, in the opinion of the staff or the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control, is hazardous to operate in the Residence Halls is prohibited. Clothes irons and “Hair Straighteners/Curling Irons” must be auto-shut off. Any non-prohibited electrical appliance/device used by a student must be “UL” approved If somebody is aware of a college that doesn't have such a policy in place, please make me aware of it, whereupon I will do everything in my powers to make sure they do have one otherwise they'll be shut down. That said, we all know here that there are bitcoiners who will be using these miners in their dorms taking advantage of the free electricity. The miners will have to be UL listed and approved by the institute. Do you honestly believe that any college will allow ANY bitcoin mining rig on their premises without a UL listed tag of sorts affixed to the unit? Do you honestly believe that any higher education institute will allow an unlist UL device to be run unattended, especially since they're known to put off excess heat? I predict that within only two very short years every university and college in the US will specifically ban ALL Bitcoin miners from being on campus in dorms. Why? For the safety of the children due to them being a fire hazard. Now, do we see how important a UL listed sticker thingy is? Apologies if I came across terse, firefop. (Ironic! I just realized that fire is part of your pseudonym)

More on Ryan Lackey: http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/decentralization/message/4860I'm working on an electronic cash system, and hope to have something suitable for applications to use (for testing) by CodeCon; design documents will be up shortly, and I'll try to put up a test client and public issuer sometime in mid/late January. My overall goal is a "good enough" technical infrastructure, combined with some bootstrap backing, to make the system interesting, and let people experiment with the ideas of the past 15-20 years in a more public way. I'd like to have something with a few interesting applications, and an easy in/out from traditional finance, by defcon x.

It seems like Sonny Vleisides hasn't changed his ways. http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/decentralization/message/4876?o=0&var=1&p=11RE: [decentralization] Guide to DMT Rand operation - Skeptism Posted By: Anon Mon Dec 31, 2001 6:22 pm | Options
If you are interested in becoming one of the first 5000 Founders of LFCity send a letter describing your reason for this goal to CityClerk@... with the subject of "Founder". [1]
As at January 31, 2001 3:48PM PST LFCity has 1,333 Founders. [2]
LFC is funded by grants from individuals who agree to be "Founders" for around $5K each. [3]
According to these numbers LFCity has raised $6,665,000. It is reasonable to assume that the founders fee was waived for a select group of insiders and early adopters. Even so it looks like they have raised quite a chunk of change. I concede that "past history is no guarantee of future performance". However, when it comes to evaluating the performance of someone spending other peoples money, and potentially mine, I'm keen to learn what has been achieved with all this cash. Anyone seen a balance sheet?
Despite mouthing libertarian philosophy, I found the individual in charge of Dodge City, a subsidiary of Laissez-Faire City, (we'll call him "Ben") to be autocratic, angered by being questioned, flawed in his understanding, and in the habit of censoring messages he didn't like. [3]
The eventual result was that my account was suspended due to my arguments and criticisms, which I found extremely hypocritical given the supposed libertarian ideals of the place. Also the fact that they silence dissenters is a bad indication as to the viability, honor, and realism of the project. [3]
Hmmm... the libertarians/objectivists need a government. What are the options for a group that believes in minimal government? As the saying goes: Once a piece of shit, always...

The website now says at checkout that all sales are final. You're quoting months old posts. You people have been screaming that the sky was falling since day one. Said they were going to take all the pre-order money and run without shipping a product. They shipped a product, and you said they were just going to ship a few to get more orders, and then take the money and run without ever shipping to customers.
They've been shipping hundreds of orders for the past few weeks, and now you're screaming that they're going to take the money and run, because they're enforcing their 'no refunds' policy on new orders that were placed AFTER they started shipping.
Every time you people are proven wrong, you come up with more bullshit to speculate about and say "I told you so" even though you've been wrong every time. I'm looking at you Phinnaeus Gage
There I was, jacking off to new girl (small tits, tight pussy) on MFC when I had this uncomfortable feeling that I was being watched. Sure enough, I was right. I've yet to be proven wrong about Sonny K. not being revealed. I've yet to be proven wrong about there not being any FCC certifications in spite of Josh stating that they were forthcoming in-two-week TM back in last November. I've yet to be proven wrong about there not being any UL certifications. I've yet to be proven wrong about there not being any CE certifications. I've yet to be proven wrong about Josh not also owing a 1000 BTC bet/guarantee promise to charity. And, I've yet to be proven wrong about amassing free scrap copper and saving pre-1981 Lincoln cents (pennies) is a better investment than purchasing copper bullion over spot. Now, who's looking at whom? <Zip!> And yet you've been proven wrong on all of the claims that matter. The 1000 BTC bet was dealt with. Get over it. UL Certifications aren't required because the unit is powered by power supplies that are already UL certified. There are differing opinions on whether Big Brother actually requires FCC certifications (everybody who's tried to make a stink about it with the FCC has received a response that they don't realy care. It's illegal to melt Pennies, so their value is stuck at "face" period. End of story. If you're paying over spot for bullion, you should probably shop around better, and learn a little about the futures market, mmkay? Now, as you were, Chicken Little Phinnaeus Gage I'll give you a blowjob if you prove that the following 1000 BTC was satisfied. Since Tom is refusing to actually make the bet he himself proposed between us, I am offering up a guarantee of 1000 BTC to charity (I will take suggestions on which charity to donate this to) if BFL does not meet it's power claims within 10% - meaning if BFL's power consumption is more than 66w for a Single SC, we lose the "bet."
Now, I ask if Tom is willing to step up and back the winning side. He is 100% confident that we will not meet our power claims (which is the genesis of the failed bet), and as such I ask that he pony up 1000 BTC to the same charity if we do make our power claims.
So there it is: Tom is confident that we won't make our power claims, I am confident that we will. I am willing to put up 1000 BTC to show my confidence in BFL products. Is Tom confident enough to do the same or is he just blowing hot air?
If the FCC is such a mute issue, then why... When is the Jalapeno getting FCC approval?
Maybe two weeks? We are waiting for the test lab to issue the test report. Please go to the Government of Sealand site for more information on the Principality. http://web.archive.org/web/20000818054855/http://www.havenco.com/about_havenco/theteam.htmlRyan Lackey - Chief Technical Officer
Mr. Lackey has worked to bring high security, pro-individual-freedom technologies to the marketplace, first while a student at MIT, and then later in startups developing cryptographic[sic] electronic cash solutions for a variety of markets. Ryan has presented at several conferences and symposia[sic] in the security field, and is well known within the security community. <[sic]'s mine> Ryan Lackey was only one mention in this forum: Ted Nelson, the American academic who in 1963 coined the term hypertext, and is therefore viewed as one of the World Wide Web’s founding fathers, just released a 12-minute video with a big reveal at the end: The inventor of bitcoin, says Nelson, is probably Japanese mathematician Shinichi Mochizuki.
Nelson offers no direct evidence for his conclusion that Shinichi Mochizuki is behind the pseudonymous creator of bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto. Instead, in his eccentric way, he offers plausible circumstantial evidence about his theory, outlined below. Internet surfers and the press are bound to investigate furiously.
1. Mochizuki is the kind of genius who could create bitcoin. Whoever created Bitcoin has the intellectual might of Isaac Newton, says Nelson. Mochizuki’s work as a mathematician has cracked some of the simplest and toughest problems in his field, attracting global media coverage.
2. Mochizuki, like the creator of bitcoin, is fond of dropping brilliant works on the internet and stepping back. Bitcoin was released by a pseudonymous programmer (or programmers) under the name Satoshi Nakamoto, who then disappeared from the internet. Nelson compares this to Mochizuki’s style of delivering his work not through academic journals, but simply by dropping it on the internet and walking away. (Notably, this is one area where Nelson gets his bitcoin history wrong: Satoshi Nakamoto didn’t just drop bitcoin onto the internet and disappear. He, she or they, engaged with the community for some time over chat and email before disappearing.)
3. Mochizuki could easily have written all the correspondence associated with Satoshi Nakamoto. Despite being a Japanese professor at a Japanese university, Mochizuki’s English must be quite good, says Nelson, because he was the salutatorian of his graduating class at Princeton, and he completed his undergraduate education in only three years. (Nelson doesn’t note this, but it’s reasonable to expect that Mochizuki is actually a native English speaker; he moved to the US with his parents when he was only five years old.)
It’s worth noting that at least one expert in the cryptographic aspects of bitcoin doesn’t believe Nelson’s theory. Here’s Ryan Lackey, creator of Sealand, the world’s first data haven, refuting Nelson’s video:
Apologies for quoting it all: http://www.mail-archive.com/cypherpunks@minder.net/msg13438.htmlRe: simplest possible ecash mint Nomen Nescio Mon, 24 Dec 2001 13:46:35 -0800
Ryan Lackey writes: > > I don't believe "normal users" should ever interact directly with the > mint; using the mint as a reissue server only in normal operation is a > key optimization -- especially when coupled with tamper-resistant mint > hardware. Easier to develop, easier to operate, easier to audit. > Users should purchase cash from change makers; the issuer could also > operate a change maker, and can handle sales to change-makers separately.
You're using some of these terms without defining them clearly: mint, issuer, and change maker. Earlier you said the change maker was responsible for changing between ecash and something of value, presumably including other currencies. Presumably the mint is the cryptographic engine which issues ecash coins. The issuer is apparently someone who is allowed to force the mint to issue coins at will, although the mint is supposed to log and report on such interventions. (Anyone can destroy coins, so an issuer is not needed for that functionality.)
Can you explain how these three roles would work in a transaction where Alice gets some ecash for dollars, pays Bob in ecash, who turns the ecash back into dollars?
Here is how it seems like it should work. The change maker Carol has a bunch of ecash she stands ready to sell. Alice gives her $X in dollars, along with blinded data to become Alice's ecash. The change maker does an exchange operation at the mint, giving the mint $X in the change maker's own coins, along with the blinding factors from Alice. The mint gives back new blinded coins which Carol passes to Alice, who unblinds them to get her ecash.
Alice passes the ecash to Bob. He does an exchange operation at the mint to get new coins and to verify that Alice's cash is good. He then delivers whatever goods or service Alice has paid for.
Bob later wants dollars, so he goes to change maker Carol and delivers to her ecash. She does an exchange at the mint to verify that Bob's coins are good, and then sends Bob dollars in return for his ecoins.
This sequence conflicts somewhat with your model. Bob had to interact directly with the mint, and you said that normal users would not. But only the mint can verify the validity of coins so it seems to be necessary.
The issuer was not involved in this transaction. Apparently he is only there to inflate the currency. You should consider eliminating the issuer, who can easily cause trouble. At startup time let the mint generate its keys and emit a single high-value coin. That will be the money supply for all time. Allow a banking system to grow around this "high-powered" currency and fractional reserve bank loans will automatically adjust the money supply as needed. Bruno, if it's not a scam then your giving a rash of shit to someone that just lost a family member. I know the guy is a nut and probably a little high most of the time but he's harmless like Atlas. Be real sure your right first.
The scam isn't his brother dying. It's him begging for donations to make baseballs in his brother's memory, a charity for Peanut Labeling (labeling which already exists), and finally to fund him accusing his stepfather for murder. He even says that if his stepfather would just sit down and talk to him about making a charity, he wouldn't pursue the murder charges. You misunderstand my comment. I couldn't care less about the little hairball. I like Bruno and want to keep him from making an ass out of himself over a non issue. And it's appreciated, for I have seen my error. Thanks, CBH.
