Given how the federal government of the United States attacks legal pot growers on the banking front, I would think they would want to adopt a currency that they could use for trading without having to have a bunch of physical cash on hand. With what the federal government is doing, it stops them from having traditional bank accounts and they have to hold all that cash on hand and tote it around with them.
The IRS is a private corporation based offshore in Puerto Rico. They funnel tax revenue through the City of London on its way to the Vatican. The private corporation of THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA issues debt fiat to pay everyone, and then additionally for funding run all kinds of crime, like, ....drugs. It's no wonder at all that they aren't into cryptos. Thank you, BitcoinCharlie, for basically adding to the evidence, validating the truth to the matter.Nothing is as it appears. The Vatican owns the world, apparently, and I guess English royalty has a franchise to collect Vatican tribute in America. Something like the Virginia Trading company changed its name the THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. It's all a scam, and if you argue with it, you'll be droned to death or vaccinated with ebola or have a hundred bureaus attack you or whatever.... - Are we all done, yet, with the druggie talk thread drift, because frankly I don't like it? Don't give them an excuse; the government ( gubernare (to control) mente (mind)) doesn't like competition. Wow! Thanks for the ass-kicking! Speaking of "drift" UNO is really drifting lower to sub .0068 on Cryptsy and Bittrex...

it is so stupid and, you're right, it breeds crime and punishes those who follow the law.
For those who enforce the laws, it's not stupid at all. Are you familiar with civil asset forfeiture? There are perverse incentives for the enforcers to steal one's property. http://reason.com/blog/2014/11/10/its-so-easy-to-steal-stuff-with-civil-foPerfect reasons to have paper wallets not on one's person...

Oh, I absolutely agree. By not allowing the people to deposit their honest money in banks, the federal government create a situation which breeds crime that they are supposedly trying to prevent. It's again the law of unintended consequences. Or are they really unintended?

So ... should my new plates say "UN" or "UNO"? One advantage of the former (should I be able to get it) would be that people, including cops, might think it's an official United Nations vehicle and let me pass through wherever with impunity. Any thoughts?
"eXtended Male Lingam" ... i gave it a chuckle, anyone who uses Lingam instead of the long list of other options gets few extra respect points from me UNO ... that's the ticket, cuz that's the brand ... unobtanium is the geeky scientific formal name, difficult to say and spell ... Un UN un well that's just kinda like the short hand version, this is more like the in the style of Uno Club hipster speak you un-derstand? Who knows there are no hard rules u-know! Depending on where you are located I can think of a lot of options. many jurisdictions allow 7 characters. GOT UNO GET UNO BUY UNO HASHUNO UNOHODL UNO-EX UNOAIRE LUV UNO options are endless

Just wondering what else people here trade.
After UNO, what's your 2nd & 3rd favorite crypto?
Uggghhhh, iiiccchh, aaahhhh. I have been thinning the numbers significantly. Uno is pretty much it. Cannacoin, potcoin, and xmr. None of which are looking nearly as hot as when i was liking them a lot more. So far good ol' uno is the ONLY coin i haven't lost money on. It would seem that the pot-related coins should do well. Which of them is the best coin?

I don't recommend a rush into foreign language threads. The key is finding persons who already are passionate about crypto, PLUS they need to be a fair English speaker in order to communicate with the current core Uno group. If there is a bounty, or bounties on offer I think this makes it easier to capture a few good hearts and minds. The easiest method might be to check the other language threads on see who is popular ... count their postings and rank. Here is and example find of an Indonesian https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=338653Lots of languages to get on board. This will be a constant job no rush. I don't disagree with you. However, I do think that we need to focus as much as we can on cultivating Spanish and Chinese threads. In terms of communication they are very large groups...

@sirsmokes honestly can't believe the bottom is in yet. Japan is going to devalue the yen as much as possible, then the Euro, the dollar will also chase. As the stuff hits the fan, I can't believe that the manipulation will stop. A variable I see in the mix is a golden Ruble, but who knows? We're in such uncharted territory...

While I am originally from Central America, I came to the U.S. as a babe. Pretty much born and raised stateside. I did study some spanish, but I am not a fluent speaker. Lo siento.
I have a couple of contacts who can translate Spanish, but neither of them have any crypto knowledge whatsoever. Nor, do I think they would be interested in crypto, per se. I will never know until I ask the question. I can imagine a scenario where we could pay the translator a certain amount per day? / per post? However, we would have to designate someone to coordinate with the translator to answer the specific questions / comments in the thread. My thought is that this could be dis-jointed way of getting the thread started and then hopefully a hero would appear to take over after we "translated" for awhile? Any thoughts?

Still thinking on how to make 'cheap' Physical Unobtanium chip-like items that include a loaded private key.
Bigtime already offers a 'premier' Physical Unobtanium that can be used as a cold storage device, with the additional feature of being pure silver.
I am trying to conceptualize something that holds 10grams or 100grams of Un, looks good and can't be destroyed by water. These would be great for freebies or street vendors. Mass distribution and give potential new investors a taste for Un.
Something like this? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=26395.0Except maybe etched into a hard plastic?

@ So What's with Nxt's Wallet?: at the risk of sounding like an apologist: what Ian and I have found is that setting the thing up is a pain in the tookus; but you get it goin' and get the hang of it, it's impressive. In all fairness to these guys, it's an entire crypto-verse that they've set out to create (pity they didn't get the currency-should-store-value thing right at the outset . . . )
@ FK: it'll be a fine thing to have you active!! As a TT, and having 'Verified' -- that's the pic of your phizz -- you need only wrassle with the Nxt wallet. When it's synched, you will find an Alert or Note that provides a 'public key.' When you post your wallet address here, post the public key with it. (Public-key thing just the one time.)
@ Benefactor: my system seems to have accepted a transfer to you. Please post if it turns up.

Ok, I'm good to go. NXT-U3HN-5RAR-B89Q-AT542 I used my public key to deposit NXT into my wallet from Cryptsy. I should be good on the network now? I sent you an NXT message. Please respond if you received it.

Guys, the 'in-houseness' is what will (a) give DVC value, and (b) allow us to control it, and thereby learn. I strongly counsel focusing our efforts, for the moment, on getting ten, twenty, thirty, forty TTs in on the project.
M
I agree, I don't speak foreign languages well enough to discuss crypto in threads, but has anyone put out the solicitation of TTs in the other language UNO forums? It will help spread the word of UNO...

I've thrown some hashing at XJO. What is the best pool to use?
|
|

When I press the TT link, it asks me to login with a user and password. Is it supposed to work like that?
|
|

Please please: can someone explain where the public key on the (newly-downloaded) Nxt wallet is?
m
Are you talking about the one that you need for the first transaction? My public key was listed in an alert / note at the top of the NXT screen.

I've been away from XJO for awhile. I'll download the new wallet and see what's up...been some chatter about the coin lately...

The buy order is mine. I should get together with that sell-order guy and cut a deal!
Welcome to UNO! Hope your order fills.. What brings you to the UNO community?

"UNO is dying"?
I think it was Timothy Mo, campers, who said, 'There is no lie so great it can't be told.'
m
his personal opinion based on no research I don't understand the FUDster douchebags... Why not just buy some UNO and join the winning team and be a contributor instead of spreading baseless drivel? H8Rs will be H8Rs...

I appreciate Wolong's honesty about his priorities and I respect him for making the difficult choice he felt he needed to make. Since yesterday, he has emails out to some other excellent coin Devs, seeking their input and advice, and has already received some encouraging replies. The case of discussion was that he has 20% of the coin supply split between 200 addresses. The morality: he is fully in UNO.
back up claim with links and details please Smells like FUD to me...
