843  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Custom Bitcoin Artwork on: June 14, 2018, 10:26:33 PM

Just take it down. It is not final, it is not complete, some of the people you have credited don't even have their portions on the piece because it is NOT FINISHED. This is actually pissing me off now.

edit: How does it even work when you commission something and they go ahead and release it before you can even bring it to light?
844  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Custom Bitcoin Artwork on: June 14, 2018, 10:24:21 PM
Hi

Please explain this work.....

and your participation in it... because as far as I am aware, you are not one of the accredited artists.
And having owned two of these pieces I would like to hear how you claim to have worked on it.
So why is it on your instagram?
Please do correct if I am wrong Smiley

Cheers
Viz

edit: Hmmm using other peoples work without attribution or explanation of your role is disingenuous to the original artist and a cursory glance at your Inst would leave people with the impression you created the works.

How many other artist works/pieces have you "claimed"?

Who are the other artists, I have no problems putting their names instagram post.

This whole scenario would be different had it not been leaked through his portfolio.
I have asked each artist that contributed to the original ZimNote for their blessing to use each of their portions. The actual art came together faster than I thought and I am currently waiting on one artist for their go-ahead. Nothing will be printed until I have their approval.

I myself was waiting until I had the final piece (holograms and everything) before I made its own thread and gave proper credit to everyone for letting me re-create one of my favorite pieces. This is a 1 of 1 and will remain in my own collection with my other ZimNotes.

Visualplane you should wait until I actually get this printed and I can send you proofs and all other info for your portfolio and the finished product. I was just as shocked as everyone else to see it posted here and in your portfolio as I wanted to start my own thread on it and have it a surprise. As you can see this has stirred up a bees nest, and rightfully so, I am a big proponent against using people's artwork without proper credit as you can see in my history with frankbitcoin.

Hey Viz, i somewhat explained it in the second post after seeing it in his portfolio. I hired visualplane as an artist and I have received everyone besides one artist + the government of Zimbabwe's blessing to have this "re-created" (still waiting on their word before anything is printed).

It does lead to the question of whether something like it should be displayed in a portfolio(+without props to the several original artists) as it is a re-creation of an older piece.

I think we can work something out.

I can see that you really want this made. We will print one note for you for free if you give us the artwork on PSD.

We also need the note back.

Contact me.

Will be in touch Smiley I was going to exhaust my local capabilities before I contacted the king of polymer themself.

First time posting here, sorry if this post is inappropriate. I'm an illustrator and was referred to this site after making custom artwork for another member. My portfolio is https://www.instagram.com/jinsworld_

Thanks

lol i got visualplane to help me recreate the ZimNote to print on a Polymerbit Creative note, hence the pictures on his instagram if  anyone is wondering. having problems finding a printer that can do it now. the search continues. Also surprise ruined Sad

Damn, that looks really nice, Tee... Do you mean you are having trouble printing it on the note itself?

yea I was hoping a place in town would be able to slap her right on there but most places require it be a full sheet rather than just the note already cut.

849  Economy / Collectibles / Re: WTS Elon Musk / Boring Company Flamethrower $3,000 on: June 13, 2018, 03:18:52 PM

Yes.  Musk said each one came with it's own extinguisher which will be included in the price.

Where did he say that?  This page says clearly "-Fire extinguisher sold separately (for exorbitant amounts of money)" which was about $30 at the time if I remember correctly.

Newbies HAVE THE FUCKING RIGHTS TO BID. OKAY?  Angry

If i dont pay someone else will .. THATS IT!

Here's where the newbie gets mad and pulls or doesn't honor his bids because of the expected and proper call outs by actual collectors. Script going according to plan.

856  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Project Canceled] 'AN VERITAS, AN NIHIL' - Canceled. on: May 24, 2018, 09:23:51 PM
If you thought that we created this artwork, that was your own assumption.  I clearly stated who's work it was and that we were wanting to offer it onto a coin.  Plenty of 'due diligence' was done.

You were not the reason we canceled the project.  We were already considering canceling it prior to your comment.  It's fairly difficult to move forward with minting a coin with only 20 reservations (for a coin to be minted at a quantity of 75).  But you are probably already aware of this.  Right?

There's no reason to go on and on.

You didn't like the idea of putting this art onto a coin.  I get it.

Some people did like the idea.

At the end of the day, we decided not to move forward with the project.  Now you're going to continue on and act as I've we've misrepresented something in this thread when, in reality, we never did.

I don't need to cite wikipedia pages for the artist lol.  I gave his name - hence why you were able to find it.

You're right.. you dont need to but as an artist you'd think you would have enough respect for someone that led the way for you to be able to do what you do today. Anyway I'm done with you. Going to commission one of these cancelled pieces to be done by killyou72 and his dremel.
857  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN-TAKING RESERVATIONS] Our first COIN, 5 ounce silver, 'AN VERITAS, AN NIHIL' on: May 24, 2018, 08:59:32 PM
Nice catch @teeGUMES! Here is a combined collage to make the comparison easier:

If anyone is photoshop skilled I would like to see the two images I pulled from google images turned greyscale to see just how similar it is to the coin mockup.
I wouldn't have continued on this path but reading the bullshit "this is artistry" post made by frankbitcoin it further piqued my interest.

Nevermind found those on google aswell. Just trying to wrap my head around your earlier reply and bolded points below. Transparency is all we ask from coinmakers on this forum, you cant really pull the wool over our eyes here. A lot of us have been in the game for a lot longer than you think.
You're right that it was not a "catch".. rather nobody actually thought that you took the EXACT art and just combined it with some text and considered it worth $800-$900 USD.
You should have provided links to Elihu Vedder's wikipedia page, explained this man a little more to us and had proper links to his paintings. You did not do your due diligence on this piece and this is why you were called out and in the end the project to be cancelled. ( No one straight up was an asshole, we were mainly hinting that your price point is undeserved as a first time coin creator )

-snip-
How do you know that we are not taking a loss, as well, on this project?
-snip-
the charge for our designer to prepare the artwork
-snip-
there's a ton that goes into the cost of this as well as many of our projects - many of which can easily be overlooked when you're not fully aware of the entire cost of said project.

Its a hard pill to swallow paying 0.1BTC when all you did was trace/flip these two pictures and throw it on a coin with no original artistry of your own. I feel as though you and your team could have come up with something a little better and hopefully you continue with your series and incorporate bitcoin into the face of the coin.

At the very least I appreciate that the original artist's signatures are still on the drawup of the coin. I feel as though once the actual coin is minted that it may be one of the things that doesnt make it onto the actual silver coin. ( i hope it stays on but as we have seen with the bordering on the NattyMind Samsara coin sometimes the little intricate parts can not actually be done )

Demanding this sort of price point from a bitcoin collectibles community just because another proven coin creator also has a 5oz Silver coin series does not mean that yours is worth the same amount as his. If you go back to when team NattyMind brought out their first coin you can see that they almost/possibly did take a hit just to get their name out there.

This is your second piece in a row that is piggybacking off of another artist/product. Your 65crypto metal wall piece and now this.

This is not a hitpiece but you can see that a lot of the collectors on here are skeptical to reserve these, I think once an actual prototype or the first coins are struck with hologram revealed and applied you might see more interest.

860  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Ideas] What's next for BTCC Mint? on: May 23, 2018, 06:40:38 PM
I'd like to see some kind of bearer bar. Bitcoin of course. The full block 25BTC and 12.5BTC bars were a little bit more than I wanted to put into a collectible.
