841  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Government job or private job? on: October 13, 2023, 11:16:35 PM
There's no one-size-fits-all answer to this one; it really comes down to the benefits and how secure you feel while working. For most of us, it's all about that steady salary because, let's face it, no one wants to work until the end of time. We all have dreams of retiring when the time is right, and we want to make sure we get the perks we've earned.

Speaking of stability, I'd place my bet on the government jobs. They're not likely to go bankrupt anytime soon since they rely on taxes from the people. It's a different story in the private sector, where things can get a bit wobbly when the economy takes a decline.

Good news is ;

Asian Games basketball gold to stay in PH, POC chief says

https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/10/13/23/asiad-basketball-gold-to-stay-in-ph-poc-chief-says

Well, this is some good news – we're holding onto the medal we rightly earned. But, there's a dark cloud hanging over Brownlee. If those test results stand, he might get slapped with a hefty penalty by the powers that be. We might have to wave goodbye to him in international games for a while. Suspensions or bans could be on the horizon.

China's response is a bit puzzling. They're the ultimate champs, but it seems they can't resist throwing shade at us in basketball. They probably poured a ton of cash into their lineup, but couldn't even make it to the Finals. The Philippines broke their hearts.

I came across a video showing Romeo schooling them in the Asian games. It's clear they have a chip on their shoulder and want to get back at us, not on the court, but by exploiting the rules.
843  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Know When to Stop. Lesson for Everyone, Particularly Investors on: October 13, 2023, 11:58:50 AM
So, what you're getting at is, don't let your emotions run the show. We've got a strategy or game plan to stick to, and we can't allow our feelings to take the wheel. That's why we have these popular terms like FOMO and FUD - they're all about investors and traders making decisions based on their emotions.
844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tszyu vs. Mendoza Confirmed for WBO Title Showdown on October 15th on: October 13, 2023, 10:53:03 AM
^ That is a very attractive odds for a underdog. I'm convinced that Mendoza could be very well a live underdog here so it's a big surprised that the book makers are listing him at 5:1 here. The fight could even go to the judges scorecard if Tim can't knockout Mendoza here.

And that's where the story of a decision that could be biased to Tim, as one is from Australia already and the two other judges have score the fight in favor of Tim against Harrison in Australia. But nevertheless, I wouldn't look at it from that perspective, Tim should really look for a knockout so that there will be no doubts that he won the fight and that he is the established WBO champion unless Charlo makes a comeback next year.

That's one of the reasons Tszyu is the favorite here, aside from being the champion. He's not known as a KO artist, so we're likely to see a toe-to-toe battle that might end up on the judges' scorecards. Now, what Mendoza needs to do is crucial – he has to secure a win, and that's most likely to happen through a KO.

He can't afford to just think about winning on points; that's a surefire way to lose, especially since he's the away fighter. It's imperative that he doesn't leave room for doubt. He needs to fight convincingly so that the result can't be questioned or manipulated.
845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: October 13, 2023, 05:59:30 AM
I have to say that those who are gambling at work are people who cant manage their time well.
Not everyone mate, if you put it that way, it should only be for people who are working for companies or establishments. For those who owns their own businesses, they can choose to gamble at their own time. When you are employed you are usually given task to do and most times you have 1 or 2 hours break which you have for lunch and other things but how can you gamble during this time.  It's still a good thing, to be able to minimize your gambling activities, during hours of work even though you own the business or are employed.
In general, gambling during work hours is against the rules, and most employees would likely face termination if they were caught doing so. Employees are vital tools in a company's operations, and if even one employee is distracted by gambling, it can significantly impact the company's overall performance. Each task contributes to the company's success, and if these tasks aren't done well, it's a problem.

We shouldn't justify gambling during work hours just because we think we can manage it alongside our job. That's not how it works. Employers implement preventive measures rather than seeking a cure. This is especially risky when you're responsible for handling financial matters.

I have to admit that I'm somewhat guilty of gambling at work too, but I've been lucky that our company isn't overly strict about enforcing these rules.
846  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Experience becoming Binance P2P Merchant on: October 13, 2023, 05:12:57 AM
I trade my Bitcoin and altcoins for USDT and then transfer that USDT to my GCASH account.
Do you mean PHP?

Nope, maybe I didn't explain it well but when you trade your Bitcoin for USDT, transitioning from fiat and spot, you can then transfer it to a funding account. It's at this point that you can sell your USDT for PHP. In my case, I prefer to receive it in my GCASH account.

I believe that you need to have a lot of capital to really have that large profits right? If you think about it, it's like you are trading as well but it just includes your bank account right? Because the prices are still dependent on the market it's still like trading. Don't you think so? I think you always need to convert immediately.

When it comes to significant capital, do you have an estimate of the amount we're discussing in terms of numbers? For instance, if I want to earn at least $1000 each month, what would be the approximate capital requirement for me to get started, and how many trading days per month should I consider?
847  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how many halvings have you witnessed? on: October 13, 2023, 02:58:41 AM
IIRC, I have witnessed two halvings that were followed by a bull run. This is why you can't eliminate the hype surrounding halving events; people expect a bull run to follow. So, we are in another exciting time again. As the halving is approaching, we should consider accumulating more crypto as we never know when the market will take off. History suggests that it's likely to happen after the halving, so we should consider betting on that.

For those who like to know about when Halving is, check this countdown.

848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Winning Wisely: Strategies to Protect Your Bankroll on: October 12, 2023, 01:00:45 PM
<snip>
That's right, Martingale can be a boomerang for gamblers who don't calculate it well. Because, basically, any game is based on luck even though it can be seen through analysis. For example, using the martingale method to bet on football matches, may have better effectiveness than other types of gambling. Because, the team we choose to bet on has a greater chance of winning the match, and we at least have a greater possibility of making a profit. But, back to luck, if the big team we choose, turns out to lose against a small team, we will experience a double loss. Maintaining the martingale method may no longer be the solution for the next bet, because our bet will be 4x bigger than the initial bet.
I do not agree that using the martiangle technique is more effective in sports betting, specifically in football. Mind that this technique does not guarantee the win. The house edge should also be considered.
Using martiangle on sports betting would be a slow process as of the game's nature. On the other hand it will be quick on casino games.

This technique requires big bankroll, so the balance should also be considered before executing such technique.

Don't even think of funding your bankroll just because of that; relying on a large bankroll solely for the purpose of using the Martingale strategy is a risky proposition. In reality, this strategy is more of a trap, and it's highly unlikely to lead to consistent wins in gambling. Thinking that a substantial bankroll can help because it allows you to double your bets after losses is a misconception. Bookies and casinos have implemented limits precisely to prevent this type of abuse. It's not a sound approach, and it tends to stress out gamblers and make them greedy.

A better strategy is to start with a smaller bankroll and focus on making accurate predictions most of the time. The goal should be reasonable and achievable, not to win every single time, which is practically impossible in the world of gambling.
849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: October 12, 2023, 11:47:36 AM
Sorry for consecutive reply but it ended up a draw. LOL!

 Casimero do lacks stamina and its evident on Round 2 to Round 3.
 The Japanese fighter is really that having that good stamina and endurance despite of the power of Casimero but checking and had observed
that when it comes to points then Oguni does have the upperhand but unfortunately the fight had been stopped and ended up on DRAW.
Good hit for those who do able to make some bets on DRAW which odds arent that bad.

I'm a bit puzzled about why the fight ended in a draw. If it's true that Oguni was ahead on the scorecards, then he should have been declared the winner, especially since the fight was stopped due to a possible accidental headbutt. Casimero seems to have a streak of bad luck when it comes to facing Japanes opponents. The last time ended in a "no contest," and he was fortunate that his opponent admitted defeat and that win was recorded as TKO.

Now, when it comes to Casimero's stamina, it was pretty obvious. He appeared sluggish, and his punches weren't landing accurately. I'm starting to think he might not be ready for Inoue, or perhaps he's not comfortable in his current weight class.
850  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Dangers of trading on: October 12, 2023, 05:44:40 AM
It's probably a risk, not danger.

Trading is similar to gambling. You trade with other traders, but you have different predictions based on short-term price movements, so either party can be right or wrong, but there's only one winner every time, and that is the exchanges. As long as you are trading a legitimate and highly liquid assets(coins/tokens), there should be no danger of losing money easily. The risk is still there, but with a careful evaluation of your technique, you're likely to end up winning.

It's a game, my friend. You need to win most of the time to be profitable. So, I can say that trading is not for everyone. Those who are afraid of taking high-risk ventures should stay away.
851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you ever feel tired of waiting? on: October 12, 2023, 04:07:41 AM
There are two kinds of investors in this market: those who invest to HODL and those who invest for the short term. If you believe in the word 'HODL,' time doesn't matter to you because your goal is to sell it at a good profit, regardless of whether it takes 5 years or 10 years, as long as it satisfies you when the time comes.

Judging by how the market moves, during a bull run, Bitcoin usually creates a new all-time high (ATH), and the price skyrockets due to the hype of what we call FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). So, I guess you have to inspire yourself with that.

On the other hand, we have short-term investors. They sell when they see a small profit, but they aim to do it consistently. If you can't stand holding onto your investment for a long time and you don't want to get bored, consider learning the skills of day trading. This way, you can still make money while waiting for the bull run to come.
852  Economy / Economics / Re: Help me analyze the feasibility of this business idea on: October 11, 2023, 12:57:25 PM
1. I'm good in maths and science-related courses and have always loved teaching;

Here's some advice you should seriously consider: it's tough to excel in a job you don't have a passion for. It should be all about your passion rather than just the paycheck. But, I get it – you've mentioned that the current salary of teachers in your country doesn't quite cut it. In that case, I'd recommend exploring online teaching. With your passion and teaching expertise, I'm confident you'll find some attractive opportunities on the web.

Since you brought up teacher salaries, would you be willing to share the typical figures for their salaries? Also, it would be helpful to know what you're aiming for in terms of salary. This way, we can get a clearer picture before diving into more specific suggestions.
853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not keeping records makes me a bad gambler? on: October 11, 2023, 12:11:33 PM
If you're thinking about getting into the gambling game, not as an operator but as someone who believes in themselves and wants to give it a shot, remember to keep some records. You know, just like any regular business does. It helps you figure out if you're doing well or not, so you can make the right call on whether to keep going or call it quits.

And hey, when it comes to your own journey, it's a smart move to keep a record of your moves. Trust me, winning in gambling is totally doable, but don't overcomplicate things and rush into it. Take it slow, learn the ropes, and grow over time. If the stress is too much, no need to push yourself too hard. Just have some fun and gamble casually.
854  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Relying on gamble wins is dangerous to mental health on: October 11, 2023, 05:29:04 AM
The title "Stupidity in Gambling Can Be Detrimental to Mental Health" might be more appropriate.

Why do people engage in gambling in the first place? It's supposed to be a source of enjoyment and happiness, not the opposite. Consider what he did, placing just $1 in hopes of winning $2500; that's a reckless approach, and it's highly unlikely that he'll succeed, or it's safe to say that the chances of winning are extremely slim.
855  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: F U D: Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubts on: October 11, 2023, 04:59:20 AM
Nah, FUD is par for the course; that's what less-informed investors tend to experience when the market takes a nosedive. But hey, I reckon it's not the best time to dwell on that, given the recent market correction. It seems like we're already in a bullish phase. It's fascinating to discuss something that can hype up the market.

You see, when some people don't succumb to FUD, it means that others won't be reaping profits.

So, don't anticipate that everyone has the strength to HODL.
856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want to fulfill my mother's dream of building a house with Bitcoin. on: October 10, 2023, 11:05:33 AM
Maintain your belief in achieving your ambitions. As long as you're taking steps to work towards them, there's a possibility of realizing your goals. It might not happen quickly, but in the long run, it's achievable. Just like how Bitcoin progresses, if you're invested in it, you can ride its success. You don't necessarily have to invest all your hard-earned money in Bitcoin; there are plenty of alternatives, such as earning Bitcoin online. All you need to do is identify an opportunity, and given the vastness of the online crypto world, you're likely to come across one.

It can be beneficial to hold onto your investments and engage in day trading. Bitcoin's high volatility presents daily opportunities, and with trading skills, you might be able to increase your income substantially. This way, your dreams could become a reality sooner than you think.
857  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The most risky adventure you must avoid on: October 10, 2023, 02:04:42 AM
````that it is MOST RISKY  not to take risk.
You see, life itself is a bit of a gamble, right? I mean, even when we're just chilling in our room, there's still that tiny chance we won't wake up the next morning. It's like a constant game of risk we're playing. We all have dreams and ambitions, and if we're not satisfied with where we're at right now, we've got to take steps to improve our financial situation.
Now, when it comes to making those improvements, it often means venturing into the world of trading, especially here in the crypto space. We're all here talking about these opportunities that can seriously boost our financial well-being. But here's the thing, my friend, it's not just about taking any old risks. It's about being smart, about taking what we call 'calculated risks.'
In other words, it's about doing your homework, analyzing the market, and making informed decisions. It's not about blind luck, but rather understanding the game and making choices that give us the best odds. That's the way to make those dreams of a better life come true.
858  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Harizen was banned. on: October 10, 2023, 01:23:06 AM
Parang hindi na-ban yung account nya since may signature pa rin, most like temp ban or lock ito.
Parang yan lang din ang nangyari, pero regardless, hindi pa rin niya na access ang kanyang account, so it's really up to the mods if they will honor all the evidence Harizen has presented. Anyway, let's be positive nalang, as of this writing, wala pa ring update.
859  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Preev.com is Down ? on: October 09, 2023, 10:35:34 AM
That site has been my go-to for a quick check on Bitcoin prices and conversions. It's been down for a while now, and honestly, I've lost hope that they'll ever come back. But I'm glad to see that there are some alternatives floating around, so I'm grateful to those who've shared them.
However, if they do happen to make a comeback, I'll probably go right back to using them. You know how it is – you get so used to something after it's been a part of your daily routine for years. Checking prices there has become a daily habit for me.
860  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Experience becoming Binance P2P Merchant on: October 09, 2023, 09:55:16 AM
I'm really interested in this topic, so thanks for bringing it up. I understand that you're more focused on getting tips on how to make income as a merchant. Well, that's intriguing because personally, I'm always using Binance P2P to trade my coins, and I'm usually on the buyer's side, if that's the correct term. I trade my Bitcoin and altcoins for USDT and then transfer that USDT to my GCASH account.
So, I think it would be cool to explore the other side of the coin, so to speak. But before diving in, I'd like to know the potential for profit and what kind of capital range is necessary to earn a decent profit.
So, for those of you with experience, could you please share your knowledge for free? Much appreciated! 😄
