Well, since life started kicking Germany in the balls, they accidentally got a win last night
They did not accidentally win. They played well and won the game. They attacked well, looked more serious than they have in their previous games, and they were able to score two good goals that made them winners. It was a friendly game and maybe France did not put in their best performance and use their best team, but they surely did not make the game easy for Germany. The victory over France gives them hope going to the Euro 2024 as the host, that their team will have a better performance and will not be a shame to them not being able to qualify from the group stages. Yes, I also don't think Germany's victory over Francis was due to coincidence or luck. In that match, Germany played aggressively and toughly to beat France. We can see that from the start of the match, Germany played aggressively so it didn't take long, in the 4th minute Thomas Muller continued Henrichs' pass with a hard kick towards Maignan's goal and scored. I see the German squad seems to be getting an extra boost of motivation to end the negative trend. It's true that France played well, but they made too many mistakes themselves. I actually quite enjoy watching Neymar, and I think he is one of the best players in the world.
The point that I'm saying is that he is still not at the level of Maradona or Pele. If, for example in the next world cup Neymar scores 3 goals in the final and Brazil ends up winning 3-2, that would move him closer to Pele and Maradona.
If he continues to do things like that, eventually he will be recognized as one of them. But he is just not there at the moment.
I don't care much about individual performances. Neymar as a player hasn't been able to win a FIFA World Cup for Brazil, despite having some of the best players in the world in his squad. During Qatar 2022, they suffered a shock defeat against Croatia during the Quarter-final stage and got kicked out of the tournament. For the 2018 tournament also, they lost during the quarter-final stage (defeated by Belgium). On the other hand, players like Messi and Mbappe have been able to take their team to new heights. Neymar who can't win a thing, despite having one of the best squads. His last two World Cup journeys were quite disappointing, neither luck nor his team's performance in his favor. However, people will congratulate Neymar in the future. There's a right time and season for everything in life. I don't know for sure, but maybe his time for success is on the horizon. I hope that in the next World Cup, Neymar will emerge as the winner, and the rest of the world will congratulate him. |

Portugal destroyed their opponent Luxembourg.Not satisfied with the 4 goals scored in the first half, Portugal scored 5 goals in 6 shots in the second half and managed to score 9 goals in total.We can say that it rained on their opponent as a rain of goals.Thus, Portugal, who made 6/6 in the group, has definitely guaranteed their exit from the group. In the other matches in the group, there were again matches where the hosts were defeated.Iceland managed to defeat Bosnia-Herzegovina with a last minute goal.Bosnia-Herzegovina dominated the match in general, but they failed to find a goal and this cost them a little bit.
Slovakia, on the other hand, won without difficulty against an easy opponent and with this win they moved into 2nd place.
LOL.. until this point, Luxembourg was doing pretty OK. They managed to defeat Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iceland, and managed draw against Slovakia. But Portugal showed no mercy and absolutely destroyed them (still they should be proud of the fact that they have 10 points from 6 matches). And it was nice to see some of the younger Portuguese players performing well in this match. I am talking about Gonçalo Inácio, Gonçalo Ramos, João Félix and Diogo Jota. Qualification is not a worry now for Portugal. They are far ahead of the other teams. For Portugal, this win marks their largest-ever margin of victory. Luxembourg has consistently been an opponent that Portugal dominates, and this is part of the reason why Ronaldo has scored many international goals against them. Although this time Ronaldo was absent, it's likely that if he were on the field, he would have scored at least four goals. However, Portugal's performance in this game wasn't much different their recent match against their opponent. |

West Ham vs Manchester City
West Ham have really been on an impressive rise at the start of this season. They were unbeaten in the first 4 matches where they only lost 2 points due to a draw against Bournemouth. David Moyes is responsible for the positive results obtained by West Ham in the last 4 matches, but this weekend he has to accept a tough challenge from defending champions Manchester City.
Manchester City has proven its quality as a team that is truly capable of maintaining consistent performance. This is a really sad change for his career. Technically Pepe's quality is still way beyond the Turkish Super League. But the question is will he be able to start showing great performances again? It's really unfortunate, but he was just another player with potential and a high price tag. I actually liked him as a player, but I don't think he had a fair chance to play enough games and build connections with other squad members in the first team. It's a common scenario in football that being signed by one manager and then not being wanted by the next. Of-course its a downfall, especially with the tough choice of joining the Premier League. Hasan Mahmud also picked up 3 early wickets and restricted Sirlanka to scoring under 260 runs. I think 258 runs total is chaseable on this pitch if Bangladesh didn't lose early wickets. Sadeera played sensationally to guide Sri Lanka to a total of 257. Although Bangladesh bowled well, Sri Lanka managed to score 20-25 runs more due to dropped catches and fielding lapses. Bangladesh struggled to contain the runs in the slog overs, which allowed Sri Lanka to set a good target. Restricting them to under 240 would have been better for their chasing prospects, but now Bangladesh will need responsible batting to chase down this score successfully. |
