Can't wait for the Premier League to resume running after so long we haven't seen the big teams play a game that is very interesting to watch. I want to see the performance of several teams, and I have a question whether they will be able to change, and the answer I can only get when I see their performance later. I had a lot of expectation from PJL and WPSL. But the elevation of Najam Sethi casts doubt about the continuation of these leagues. The above mentioned leagues are not very profitable and were designed by Rameez Raja when he was the PCB chairman. Najam Sethi doesn't care much about cricket and he is money minded. I don't know whether he will allow these leagues to function. It is a big loss to Pakistan cricket. Sethi will ruin Pakistani cricket and after a few years once again PCB will get some scapegoat like Rameez. The cycle will go on.
Expectation from a countries cricket board which is struggling to give a decent amount of electricity supply to its citizens is more than you as an individual living in India would think about in your every day life. Pakistan team in the past were a contingent to fear and now they are so down with uncertainty that it is better to not bet on them. In my opinion after Imran Khan was removed from the country as the PM this situation was waiting to happen. He was the individual who was trying to improve the level of cricket in Pakistan and above all abolish the authoritarian type of selecting a chairman of the cricket board. But, eventually those who are responsible for looting cricket board money and ruining its existence are back. I reckon dark days are again coming back. A bad political environment affects Ramiz Raja. In Pakistan cricket, fixing will be on the rise now that Sethi has returned due to the country's economic crisis. During Ramiz Raja's tenure as PCB chairman, Pakistan cricket made good progress. I am surprised that Sethi will be replacing him. Ramiz was a good man, so this was a bad decision. The people's reaction tells the whole story. It would have been better to try a new person with fresh ideas. The future looks bleak, so let's wait and see. I am sad that he is no longer the chairman of the PCB. Nazmul Hasan scored 24 runs off 57 balls and Zakir Hasan scored 15 runs off 34 balls to get out of the Test match today. But they should have lasted longer as the Test match required more runs for Bangladesh. There are 82 runs on the board for Bangladesh after the first session, while India won by taking two wickets. India got another big wicket right after the launch break. Captain Shakib Al Hasan is out at just 16(39). Congratulations to Jaydev Unadkat on his maiden test wicket after a 12-year wait. It is hoped that India will continue getting wickets and will restrict them to a smaller total. There is no way I am confident Bangladesh will get a healthy score. |

Mbappe's performance in the World Cup was very good. But due to the poor performance of his teammates, France could not become champions. Football is all about a team game. The changing of the chairman of PCB, I think this should not effect on team performance.
By the way you are right on some points. The only one person can't do everything. If every player will play his role than the team will give a good performance at all. The management has some weak points which should be fxed as soon as possible. Is this confirmed? I heard rumors that Rameez Raja may be replaced with Najam Sethi as the chairman of the PCB. It will have no immediate impact on the performance of the Pakistan team, but in the long term I don't think that it will be beneficial for the growth of grassroots cricket in Pakistan. Sethi is like old wine in new bottle. He will once again bring nepotism and bias to Pakistani cricket. Rameez on the other hand was the one who rescued the finances of PCB, by coming up with deals with various media corporations. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) may be undergoing a change of guard, though I am not sure what the sources are for the latest developments. The CM Shahbaz Shareef meeting gave Najam Sethi the green light for a PCB position after replacing Ramiz Raja as chairman. I believe the problem with Bangladesh and other Asian countries women cricket team is the lack of support, and unless that changes we won’t really see them improve anytime soon. Furthermore New Zealand women’s cricket team is on the right track, and if they continue to further improve then they can definitely replace Australia who’re currently the number one team in woman’s cricket. It is about finding the right talent and giving more opportunities for the Women's. National Cricket board cannot do everything, it starts with having clubs and then to zonal and then preparing them to play in the big leagues and the opportunity to make huge amount of money is not there either and there are a few clubs that have Woman sporting events like Cricket and hence the selection pool is really small and when that changes we can see the real change  . As said, national cricket board can't do everything. But, it needs to take initiative supporting the Women's cricket. This lacks in the Asian countries and the same makes it a tough thing for the right candidate to reach the position. As suggested reaching through the clubs is good, even in that women won't get opportunity easily. This is how the boards were acting. To be frank, in every sports someone expects adjustment when it comes to women. When this changes, everything changes. Nothing offensive, just the reality with everything sporting. In the Asian Countries cricket board mostly invest on the men cricket team. They don't look at the women cricket team much. They practice with some equipments. Therefore the mostly Asian Women cricket teams don't practice much as compare to others. Cricket board give them opportunity to play with low budget. I think this may effect on the performance. I personally believe that once the WIPL begins woman’s cricket will forever change, because suddenly the boards will realise how many advertisers are willing to pay for woman’s cricket and that’ll encourage many Asian countries to invest more for woman’s cricket development. However I don’t expect major progress in 2023, but I strongly feel that by 2025 we will see major changes in woman’s cricket and finally I hope that they get the respect and recognition that their male counterparts usually get. I am excited about Women's IPL because it will not only boost women's cricket in India but also change women's cricket forever. Among the women's game, WIPL is the next frontier. In March 2023, right after the Women's World Cup Final, the Women's IPL (WIPL) will take place. It's sad to see that women's cricket isn't getting the support, but it's still encouraging to see that India supports the game in all forms today. Kylian Mbappé is one of the greatest asset any club can attract in to its fold currently. It is true that he still has a contract with PSG till 2025 but he is only committed to the club for two years. The contract includes a clause that gives Mbappe the right to activate his release in 2024 if he wants to leave the club. But with the financial backup of PSG, I am not sure they would allow him to leave too soon because they would keep improving the terms of his contract.
But Mbappe might want to leave so that he can experience the happenings in other leagues. The English Premier League has some good big spenders that can attract this young prolific player. Newcastle United can be a potential place for him, if they can secure a champions league slot this season. I think Mbappe would get all the respect and influence he needs in such a club. Other clubs like Manchester United, City and Chelsea are controlled by autocrats.
I highly doubt that he would leave, I mean look at what they have done with this summers contract agreement, he could have left for zero money, any club in the world could have gotten him, but PSG kept him with the biggest record contract worth there is. People talk about him having power at PSG but we have seen as a kid who grew up idolizing Ronaldo, he plays with Messi very well and I think he will continue. I am believing that all these extra drama is not real and he is happy to stay at the club for sure. That's at least what I believe in, hope that it's not wrong and he is actually happy, because why leave after contract ends when he could have done that already and decided not to. It was necessary for him to take care of himself so as not to be stressed out too much. He can now refocus on the champion's league trophy, which will take place soon, now that the world cup is over. Top winners start with a strong self-belief and a strong mentality. It is likely that he will be able to surpass so many greats and break so many records if he continues like this. PSG are preparing to extend Messi's contract. Especially after his World Cup performance it must have made a big impact on their decision. Messi was already playing great for PSG as well of course. In what world Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf are experienced?
Naseem might have played 14 odd matches but he's still new in the Red ball. Haris Rauf was one of many debutants in this series and he hardly has any domestic experience as far as 4 days cricket goes. Maybe you are confusing T-20 and Test. I wasn't talking about test cricket only. I was just saying that Shaheen, Naseem and Haris have a lot of international experience and the new bowers Pakistan included for this series didn't had any. For example, Haris Rauf has a total of 73 international matches to his name, and has has played against pig-3 sides regularly. Now compared to this, I would say that players such as Abrar Ahmed, Nauman Ali and Mohammad Wasim are less experienced. Abrar was playing in his first international, and Nauman and Wasim are having 12 and 35 international matches to their name. Shaheen, Nasim, and Haris are all unfit for recent test series against England and that was a major set back for Pakistan bowling lineup. Don't know what happen that all 3 major fast bowlers are unfit at the same time. Abrar was called in because of these injuries and despite his brilliant bowling Pakistan couldn't avoid a whitewash. I guess it's time to bring back Sarfraz as captain. In this Test Championship title, Pakistan's results have been disappointing. According to Babar Azam, the bleak performance of their pacer against England was due to the fact that their best pacer isn't working. I disagree, as their poor management and captaincy contributed to their poor performance. Definitely, Sarfraz will be considered as captain after this loss. |
