Thanks guys, we might not be the best ´devs´ but we´re doing this as volunteers and because we think that we can achieve alot if we work together and join our efforts. Too many scams in crypto and onedayfly PnD copy coins in circulation now that dont add anything to crypto.

I havent contacted the active posters in the old SBC threads yet, SBC has been dead in the water for sometime so i think its safe to assume that they dont check the threads anymore. The failed scammy takeover attempt didnt do much good either, so yes, it is a challenge for sure to get this coin back up where it belongs.

Me and my team dont like making false promises and for now, our main focus will be on a healthy chain, faster transaction speeds, healthy economics and a few new wallets to get SBC updated to 2015. Its quite an old coin and alot has changed in the scene so there are some urgent updates that need to be made. We cant decide on this alone. Thats why we´re looking forward to know what the community thinks about it and give us the feedback we need to make this a true community coin, managed by a group of crypto loving volunteers.

Arthos was a visionary at the time but sadly wasnt able to live up to the promisess he made. Im sure alot of you still feel disappointed about that. Ive read posts where people were saying that they bought SBC at 50k satoshis or even higher! SBC is very undervaluated atm, only 22M coins out there and not alot of daily supply from mining. The network hash has increased from 2 Mh to over 100 Mh in less than a day after this announcement was made.

We are listed on Cryptsy and Cryptopia, both very different exchanges, one being one of the first, the other one being a little less polished than the common exchanges but with lots of exciting new features and lots of people who are new to crypto. We have soome new miners who joined mining on cryptopia and its been doing wonders to speed up transactions. SBC is more alive and kicking harder than it ever was in the last year!

And we just got started  Wink

Stable Coin – Future Stability

It is somewhat a pipe dream to have a crypto currency that is completely STABLE, after all it is a market like any other, although less mature. However the new team taking over the future development of the coin share much of the ethos the original developer had.
The new team have come up with some exciting plans that could see much further development of the coin and it’s wallet features.
Key to getting a coin adopted by merchants is Stability with that merchant not in fear of losing financially in the markets they participate in.

Step 1)

With this in mind we propose to change the coin to a hybrid in the near future. The maths are being worked on very carefully to establish what coin production produces the best price stability in relation  to other crypto currencies but more importantly the larger fiat currencies used daily around the world at the moment. This is where most developers go wrong and just assume people and businesses will adopt crypto due to a dislike for centralised systems that have been in place for thousands of years.

Step 2)

Wallets are dull as dish water even a good one with good features looks much the same as the next on. We intend to change this and build from the ground up. A new wallet system that is easy to use with excellent features, it should be better than the best on line banking wallet because crypto needs to be ahead of the curve. These wallets will cover phones, computers and devices we don’t even know about yet, or do we?

Step 3)

Getting merchants to take the coin and people to use it. Even big brother bitcoin struggles to pull this off. Just try paying for a beer at a bar that has the foresight with BTC and you could die of thirst before it gets to your hand.

What you see above is no roadmap, it is a statement of intent to bring you the best coin available on the market. This may take a few months because we are waiting on technology improvements but we can do it. 10 people with access to many thousands in the crypto niche.
So join in, buy some coins, mine like fury and join the new revolution in giving a good ol' coin the kiss of life.

8426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - URGENT UPDATE on: August 16, 2015, 07:59:51 AM
Firstly let me introduce myself as a big StableCoin fan,

In the future my team and I would love to get to know more of the solid community that has been behind the coin. For now, I have a small news update for you, but more will be announced later today.

There hasn’t been any development on SBC for a long time. This is mainly because a dev left, which was followed by a failed takeover attempt. Having studied the community it seems there are a band of committed smart people involved and we would love to re-invigorate the energy you all have. So lets try to work together and focus on the further development of SBC.

Here is a brief example of what we have achieved as a team in just a short period of time and with less than 10 people:

2 members of our team love mining scrypt coins, Nordman (Cryptsy mod) and Zoot (our pool owner) and thanks to them SBC wallet got out of maintenance mode on Cryptsy.

Zoot setup a NOMP pool to mine SBC at http://spec.zapto.org/

Username: your stablecoin wallet address
Password:anything
Algorithm: scrypt
URL (difficulty 64): stratum+tcp://unb.ddns.net:12032
URL (difficulty 1024): stratum+tcp://unb.ddns.net:12256

We got SBC listed at https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Exchange?market=SBC_BTC which is a new exchange with some great innovative features like an in-house miningpool https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/MineShaft?pool=SBC and even an explorer, faucet and marketplace.

We have an improved wallet made by Noise23 Dev of Truckcoin (no more messy dll files):
http://downloads.truckcoin.net/misc/stablecoin-qt.zip  or https://github.com/noise23/stablecoin

changes made: Added gitian descriptors and did some edits to the .pro file

We think we have not done too bad for a small team. Imagine what we could achieve if we could work on this together? Till now, we have been working in the background just to see what we could achieve. Now it’s time to join forces with the old and partially inactive SBC community here to see what new goals we can achieve with SBC.

This is going to be a long term project for all of us and we hope to get some cooperation from the community. Let’s now start getting to know each other, old meets new, new meets old.

The team are not big fans of roadmaps but we think we need to make a wish list. I will post more on that later. Any thoughts you have would be greatly appreciated.

btw: 500 SBC Bounty for the person who can come up with a really great title for the 4th SBC ANN thread Cheesy

Thanks to Scotty and MrsFalcon and all the other members of the team!

8428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Halcyon v1.1.0.2 ~ NeoScrypt PoW and 200% PoS on: June 28, 2015, 12:29:31 PM
hmm i added 2  big blocks a few days but sadly they both orphaned. i'll try making a bunch of 200 blocks and see how that goes. would be nice to have a blocksplit feature for this. e.g i send 10k HAL to my wallet and use a feature to split that in blocks of 200 to stake.
8429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Halcyon v1.1.0.2 ~ NeoScrypt PoW and 300% PoS on: June 24, 2015, 06:53:56 AM
Ghost, please make a small website Wink

We don't even have a domain name right now. BTW what info to put up there?

we have one now.

I've been reading about HAL and watching it on the exchanges and there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with it? I downloaded the wallet and it synched within 2 hours, very smooth without any hiccups. CPU and memory usage also quite low so i have no problems with keeping it open 24/7 like my other stake wallets.

as for the dev, he seems quite active and a knowledgeable coder, so imo he's doing his part for this coin, the development part. Now its time for the community to do its part (like mentioned by a few others in this thread) so how can we do that? what do we want? post your ideas and lets see what we can achieve!

i bought a domain and will put a community site and forum on there. if anyone has some designing or writing skills and would like to help out with the site please let me know. i will also get a faucet for HAL and contact some merchants. we are all pioneers in this new and exciting world of crypto, lets work together and make it count!
8430  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cryptsy Hacked? on: May 17, 2015, 10:43:21 PM
lots of FUD from mr Revere. Ive been trading on cryptsy for some months now and they fix their problems pretty fast. im sure there will be an official statement but they had a hardware malfunction today and it took some hours to get that fixed. after that they had to do audits on all accounts and handle the individual problems. almost everything is back to normal now except the withdrawals and deposits. look at things from the brightside, new UI is coming on cryptsy along with some server upgrades etc. things can only get better.

c-cex is fine and a good exchange with good support, once we get more volume the adds will come

Wouldnt hurt to put that in the OP Wink  (the exchange)

no progress? had some hope Sad

for there to be progress made we NEED more exchanges ive had people contact me who want some but are having problems with yobit or just dont trust it, we have started the paid retweets and the paid (with selfie) posts but noone has responded, i can only do so much without any community support my friend

I was a bit hesitant to deposit btc to yobit because of the scams going on but so far i have to say that its pretty fast and i havent had any problems. it also looks as if it SLFI market is gaining some interest. there is some buying and selling going on.

As for the SLFI that i bought: staking awesome haha, fast network, lots of connections. looking good!

hi guys, im having a problem with my selfie qt wallet. i was staking for a few weeks but just moved and the wallet was offline for a few days. now when i turned it on, its synched and i see connections but my balance is 0.00! any solutions? i tried recover wallet in debug but that didnt change anything. i also cant see any of the previous transactions. any help would be appreciated.

do you have a backup of your wallet.dat file?

no, but nothing major changed on my system so im not sure where my coins have gone...

any progress on your lost coins?

from what i can tell is that there was somehow a new wallet.dat file created and i have no backups of the old one. i bought SLFI at betasharex last december and kept them staking till end februari. not sure what went wrong but i doubt i will see them back...
