That's how they get you, they make it so complicated and boring to read through no sane human will be able to understand it so they can put in whatever laws they like.
8442  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gun freedom advocates - what weapons shouldn't be legally available? on: January 16, 2013, 05:45:57 PM
It may be hard for non-Americans to understand, but here the idea of an authority carrying a gun telling you you can't have a gun is antithetical. Cops are more likely than CCW holders to kill someone illegally or accidentally. So why should I be required to depend on them? I am from a LEO family and I know for a fact that I know more about guns and gun safety than most cops.
It's also important to understand that police have no legal obligation to protect you unless they choose to incur that obligation. Generally speaking, you have no right to government services -- the government can set its own priorities. So if the government has a monopoly on protection but chooses not to provide it to you, you have no right to protection nor can you provide it for yourself.

When seconds count, the police are just minutes away.

That's actually an indisputable fact if you look at the response time for police in all areas, something people often choose ignore.

The fact that German politicians doubt the honesty or quality control of held gold in the US is kind of worriesome. Quite a far fetched and hostile excuse to take it home.

Now you lot know how it feels to be on the receiving end of it all the bloody time Tongue

Lol. i'm neither German or American, It's just the absurdity of such news! If any of the arguments are real, it would set off a disaster in the markets.

Is it just Gold bug manipulation?

If gold goes up and the dollar goes down it won't be because of silly stuff like this, it will be because of hyper-inflation, this is merely a consequence of America's fraud, everyone is starting to want their money back, I wouldn't be surprised if China starts selling its bonds now too because apparently Japan is now the largest holder of the debt which is going to be bad news for them. This is another case of people trying to find fault with anything but themselves, awhile ago you even had the Americans accusing China of manipulating their currency etc. when they did the exact same thing.

I want to quit my job but still need a solid source of income. Some friends of mine have suggested trading stock options, but is this really possible to make enough to replace my normal income or my job?
No.

No.

8448  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The hoarding problem on: January 16, 2013, 04:33:45 AM
Nearly all of the conventional currencies in our countries worldwide dramatically punish these 'hoarders' you speak of who are actually just saving to spend or for emergencies, how exactly is this a bad thing? I keep trying to wrap my head around how people are accusing Bitcoin users of 'hoarding' when really it's just saving up for the most part so they can afford expensive things, that's how you do things in normal life. You get a loan from a bank in order to pay for it in 60 years and then just dump the problem on your children which is what everyone is doing now.

I actually looked around at prices again recently and I just realised because of Bitcoin being a deflationary currency I would actually stand a chance of being able to afford car insurance for myself in the year if I earned something! I'd have to work a bit hard for it still because the prices are outrageously high but I'll at least be able to afford it now because of the currencies' purchasing power compared to the pound. I'd also like to point out that the system of printing money also causes dramatic price rises and falls as we are seeing constantly around us so if this 'hoarding' ( lol I still can't get over the fact someone used that term to describe a deflationary currency ) really does become a problem and I doubt it will at least people will be able to prepare for it somehow. You do forget though that there is such a thing as a luxury market, some people out there may well be saving up like crazy so they can afford things like that, this is how you get rich people to part with there money.

I suspect you have been reading/listening to a neo-keynesian economists, I really do think these guys are wankers I'm sorry because they cause frightening amounts of destruction to emerging and established markets and they think they're doing the work of God, it's incredibly easy to see just by looking at history how badly they are wrong, even Marx had better logic than these guys.
8449  Other / Off-topic / Re: We got the first Asic miner related scam? on: January 16, 2013, 03:11:59 AM
Very few do that though, mainly because of course what they produce is rubbish and they know you'd cancel the pre-order if you saw a proper preview of what to expect, why these people can't just provide good products to begin with is beyond me.
8450  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining Efficiency Experiments on: January 16, 2013, 02:01:30 AM
rofl Tongue anythings on the table now Cheesy I thought about hydroelectric, the only problem with it of course is the running stream you need a constant liquid going through it but there's no way to get it back up again without wasting energy at least as far as I know right now.

Edit: I think I'm also looking at this entirely wrong, it's probably best if I look at energy storage if I'm going to deal with electricity >_<

8452  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining Efficiency Experiments on: January 16, 2013, 01:22:32 AM
a home built electricity generator, we'll see if anything can come of that,

Not sure what you have in mind for "a home built generator"?

But you could pay for allot of conventional electricity with the money solar or wind generation would cost.  It would take a VERY long time to get a return on that investment.  Not that I think it would be a bad idea mind you, just expensive.
Sam

lol I'm not going to pay for that kind of overpriced stuff I want to build it myself for the hell of it and we'll see what happens Tongue hopefully I won't disintegrate myself or blow up the house by accident O_O so I guess some rubber gloves etc. might need to be ordered, since I only need to power a fan really it'd be interesting to see what would happen. I actually think if I get the heat down using a normal fan that's not powered by expensive coal then that would cut the costs dramatically and I wouldn't have to feel so worried keeping it on overnight.

There's only one problem with this idea or several depending on how you look at it, I have so many practical issues to consider depending on what sort of climate I'm in and hydro-electric seems like the most sensible option to pick because when it runs it can run constantly, I don't have a running stream nearby though so of course I'm going to probably end up having to invent a way to artificially generate the electricity. I also need to look at how to build the generator itself properly, you don't need overpriced and industrial wind turbines etc. to power a fan, they don't take that much electricity but I'm going to have to take some time to properly think about this so I don't blow myself up or anything daft like that if I accidentally discover something lol.
8453  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: AMD Radeon HD 6250 extra flags sweetspot? on: January 16, 2013, 01:15:02 AM
You'll barely get any more than that on a 6250 I suspect, when it comes to low MH/s the best you can do is worry about the heat and the electricity cost really, a computer can only do as much as it's designed to.

I've been glancing over this thread with a vague amount of interest because I'm currently looking learning to make Jewellery and I'm probably going to be using sterling silver, while I'm not necessarily siding with Johnniewalker this frankly is beginning to look more and more like blackmail, AfricanHunter, why make such a massive deal about this?

. You bought an ingot from someone inexperienced who clearly didn't know very much about metals and was experimenting to make some cash

. You bought with Bitcoins, anonymously and essentially on the black market in legal terms currently and you're questioning the product quality after you bought it? It's as if you bought a house without properly surveying it first and are trying to place blame on the person you bought it from

. You magically have no receipt for the assay on the silver he sold to you, you keep saying it didn't, claiming you're being civil at the same time when anyone civil or for that matter intelligent would have brought the receipt along, when I make large or expensive purchases I always keep the receipt in case of situations like this

. If this were a court room and Bitcoins were entirely legal and not in a grey area like they are now I suspect a judge would have just laughed at you both because neither of you made any proper legal preparations to make your case like anyone else would

So let this be a lesson to you, if you deal in physical goods that have a potential for loss, both sides should keep legal records of everything so it doesn't turn into a nonsensical competition of who can rant at each other the longest, you don't buy something from a store and go to complain about the product without proof of purchase in real life do you?

I also found this which you all might find interesting: http://www.silverstall.com/testing-silver.html

I love this one Cheesy This would sure explain why incompetent people keep getting elected into our political offices.

I would question the use of bit coins since they are mostly used to avoid taxes and ownership. Are you saying that RR is going to the dark side of the internet? Somethings fishy here.

WOOOOOOO! Scary! You don't have to pay for taxes anymore! As for ownership? What the hell is this person talking about?

She seems like a douchebag to me.

And a bit of a manipulative slut if she IS hitting on you for Bitcoins and while getting pregnant is pretty bad I don't think she should be getting drugs with Bitcoin to have it done to herself, that's going to end in disaster.
