861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperNET - ICO conducted by BTER + ... on: September 16, 2014, 09:14:12 PM
Apologies if this has been answered already, but I haven't really parsed the entire thread yet:
How exactly will dividends/revenues be paid to UNITY holders?

Cheers,
~ Myagui
Good question ... I would like to know as well since I have several hundred tokens and plan to hold UNITY long term. How will dividends/revenues be paid to UNITY holders?

If you have SuperNET asset in your NXT account, it will automatically arrive. If you have it on deposit at an exchange, then the exchange will receive the automatic dividend and they will need to support allocating it among the depositors. bter will be implementing this dividend redistribution. If you have SuperNET deposited to another exchange make sure they are supporting this redistribution

James

Thank you for the quick response James.

Please expand a bit further on this same matter.

I suppose that the most pertinent questions are:
 - what is the projected interval for dividend distribution? (daily, weekly, monthly, something'ly)
 - what form can/will the dividends take? (UNITY, BTC, % of PoS coins generated by SuperNET holdings, you've-been-goxxed postcards, etc)

Cheers,
~ Myagui

Interesting that XCN trading on BTER is so distant from that on Poloniex. BTER actually shows some buying is happening now and then, while Poloniex looks like a systemic dumpfest. Dunno what to make of it though... There's clearly an opportunity for someone with funds in both exchanges (buy @ polo, sell @ bter).  Wink

I haven't been mining XMR on the 750TI for a while now, but I could bet that cayar's release (NVMiner) is the fastest (that, or some earlier release from TSIV, not the latest one). My cards (slightly overclocked) were easily reaching 275h/s, so those values posted don't look quite right.

868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Creation of the Monero Economy Group on: September 12, 2014, 09:39:51 AM
I would like to suggest:
Monero Community Workgroup.

To me this makes the most sense if this effort is 1st and foremost a community initiative, and retains that it is a workgroup as the focus is to engage in activities & projects that can push Monero adoption forward.

It would be great at some point if the group would clarify on the possibility that was raised earlier, of multiple small holders participating as a single entity. I could entertain a collection of interested people and draft out some communication workflow to facilitate the creation of the single entity, but only if inclusion into the larger group is generally expected/anticipated.

Other than Tsiv's Nvidia Monero miner, are there any others for the Nvidia crowd?

Nope, that's it.

I didn't know jl777 is a coder?!
As he didn't express himself so when he offered ripple gateway for Nxt exchange early this year..

Since XCN needs only a small blockchain load each time to proceed a tx, I wish to see a lightweight browser-based wallet for better mobility purposes. Or rather it has been released and I am not informed (?)

Seriously? Zelante just re-posted about the webwallet on the previous page!!!
Hold on now, don't get your clicky-finger too tired, let me get that for you.  Grin

Am I the only one that feels that we've outgrown the forum real estate that is generally attributed to an altcoin in BitcoinTalk? I was checking the OP, and the MoneroTalk.org forum is the closest alternative listed (other than reddit, IRC, etc), but doesn't appear to be very active.

Is there a plan (or could we pool for one) of moving towards a dedicated forum?
I'm not too thrilled about MoneroTalk.org, just for the fact that I'm so much more familiar with SMF. I suppose there might be others in the same position as me... Just food for thought.

@djm34: No worries, my sense of humor is intact! Heck, I still make way more (bad) jokes than I should, all the freaking time!  Embarrassed
I just hope we can keep things tidy in this community, seeing as there is so, so much trashtalk in the forum these days. You were most certainly not trashtalking, but I could sense that you'd trigger some strong opposition on that line of reasoning!

Oh, djm34, I'll stop right here, as refuting that would take us into a never ending discussion, and one that has been raging through shitloads of threads in the altcoin section already. I didn't really mean to speculate one way or another, was just voicing my thoughts as a fellow Nvidia miner and (wannabe) trader.  Wink

However good the opportunities I've found so far, there's always been a ton of better ones that I've missed.
Can't win them all as they say!  Smiley

Edit: I would really enjoy if we could keep any & all forms of aggression out of this thread. The world of crypto is inherently competitive, yet most people fail to realize that all coins have a shot at success. The rate of worldwide crypto adoption today is still just miserable. With more and more people adhering to crypto every single day, there's opportunities for just about everyone here.
No coin needs/has to dethrone BTC for it's own measure of success. There's enough untapped market for many alternatives & a bunch of niches for specialized communities or applications. There is no need to take some coin down, for another one to succeed (even when that is a likely consequence in certain instances).

We are all miners here. Not just that, we're the Green Army! Keep Calm & Stick Together.  Kiss

Are any of you following Monero? Some of BTCs biggest whales claim it to be BTC heir apparent and the best altcoin available. They have sunk big amounts of BTC into it. Hard as hell to mine but if the coin is worth $20-$40 in the future either buying or mining is worth it.
in 6months the coin will be dead because it won't be possible to store anywhere the blockchain
(you will have to chose monero or burst)  Grin

Hey, not fair! Sometime before that, they'll have a proper database implementation.
I'm wishing hard that monero shoots up by then, so it's gotta be true right?  Grin

Note however, that mining Monero with Nvidia is far from ideal in terms of earnings. If you really want some Monero, you should just mine something else that's better valuated right now, dump that for BTC, and just buy some. You'll get a lot more Monero than you would by mining it. To facilitate some math for those interested: each 750TI will currently earn you about 0.2~0.25 Monero per day.

Full disclosure: I am most certainly biased, as I'm holding about as much Monero as I do BTC.

On a more serious note, adding to my earlier comment, the statistic is rather meaningless without accounting for moderation. This here thread is not moderated, while that other one is. I would assume that some amount of senseless/spam/trolling got deleted over there, and again, these actions are mostly carried out by fresh/young forum accounts.

[...] I noticed however that by the 'seniority' metric, Boolberry outranks even Monero (relative, not in absolute numbers). [...]

I think that the observed relative seniority is the direct result of not taking into consideration the trolldeviation(tm). We seem to have the largest trollbase(tm) here, and most of those fellows are not seniors. For genuine supporters, I dare speculate that we have the most grey hair & rheumatism in the altcoins section (and for once, that's a good thing Grin).

Well, if you'd consider one of my additional suggestions as a possible winner, I hereby pledge that the award would be split with half going towards the monero dev team (just let me do it for a better spot in the hall of fame  Grin)

Cheers!
~ Myagui

Edit: I'm proposing half and not the entire award, for the simple fact that it was not easy to come up with those suggestions, damn hard work I tell ya!  Smiley
