861  Other / Off-topic / Re: BFL Requests Input on: September 25, 2012, 12:09:15 PM
I'd like to go, but I'm pretty sure I'm not that well known.

I'll nominate yochdog. He's a miner, seems pretty well known, has BFL FPGAs, and has traded tens of thousands of dollars with forum members including a few thousand with me. I'd trust his report.

I would be willing to make the trip if BFL will have me.
862  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] BFL single & 5970 on: September 24, 2012, 09:22:49 PM
you asking 800$ for it and it worth 600$ why ?

So 2 months worth of BTC mining at 600 MH/s is worth nothing to you?

Mega facepalm.

I have interest but price is too high.  Fails once, risk is higher that fails again.  If problem is mechanical (heatsink connection) risk higher still that more problem arise shipping.

Think of as 5970 with bad core.  Has value, but how long?  What is turnaround with BFL if all bad?

Will pay 400 dollars US or 40 bitcoins ship to California.

This --- except I'll toss ya 45btc, but would require escrow or delivery first.

Not a chance.  But thanks for the offer!
863  Economy / Securities / Re: <nefario> [Pirate assets] are not listed or traded anymore on: September 24, 2012, 08:12:03 PM
what? why it isnt public?

I am also confused.....is this e-mail different that the blanket e-mail floating around from the SEC?

Did Pirate bid farewell to a select few?
864  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [ANN] Protect your future GPU mining earnings with CoinLab's 95-97% PPS Pool on: September 24, 2012, 07:16:39 PM
When can we expect payouts?

I have been mining for 3 weeks and have received nothing as of this morning.....

They're usually every Monday at ~2PM PDT.  You should probably contact Mike directly to make sure they've got the right payment address.

Thanks for the info....

I will wait until later today.  Perhaps my balance was not large enough the last couple weeks.....I just recently started with real power.

FWIW, I'm in the same boat - three weeks and no payouts yet...

Area and Yochdog, both of you had earned less than 1 BTC your first week, so you balance was carried over.  Both of you have now earned over 1BTC, so you'll both be getting payouts in a bit with your first two weeks of earnings.

If you have another week with under 1BTC earnings and you'd like me to process a special payout for you, send me an email and I'll try to get you your BTC ASAP (but it may take until the next business day).

Thanks dude!

I kind of figured it was something like that, and appreciate the clarification.

Love the reliability of the pool and the low stales.  Bravo.
865  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Got off the phone with the Guy from the S.E.C on: September 24, 2012, 06:59:09 PM
So I called the guy on the email, left a voice mail and expected him to email me. Well As I was getting ready to hop in the shower he called back. Pirate40 is going to Prison...... he did not say the exchange was going to be closed cause he could not disclose that information but he asked 1000's of questions about it. When I told him I was going to move my money he said, might not be a bad Idea. I answered all the questions honestly, he had me on speaker phone and told me anything I said could be used for court purposes.
NOW
On to butterfly labs, I told him the situation with them and he told me to file complaints with the FTC and my state attorney gen...
advice for butterfly labs, expect a call lol.
He asked tons of questions about PPT operators, theymos and how to buy bitcoins.
I have to head out now but Ill update with more info to questions when I get back tonight.

Jesum dude, we need more info as you are dropping bombs all over in that paragraph.

Also, 1,000's of questions?  Was this call over the course of several days?

about 35 mins and recorded by the S.E.C

GLBSE he asked about
He knew all of pirates info already
Butterfly Labs I told him about and he sent me to the FTC and NCDOJ, can prove that with email responses and Ticket I.D.
he noted on both of them,
Call it what you will Inaba you will get a call or a letter I Bet 50 Coins on that lol

OK, now I can decipher the original statement......the exchange is GLBSE, and you are thinking of moving your money off of the platform.

10-4.

Theymos might get a paper to turn over all logs, even if he is in another country, they do help each other out. 5 million in loss is a great reason to do so.

I think we need to stop perpetuating the $5 million urban legend. Blockchain analysis in the 1DkyBEKt5S2GDtv7aQw6rQepAvnsRyHoYM thread points to it being a SilkRoad address, so it's doubtful pirate ever had that many funds under control. with 459 accounts (23 of which are probably sock puppets), that would be an average holding of $11,467. Yes some accounts have been stated to be higher than that, but I find it hard to believe that there would be as many people as gullible as a barnyard animal to get an actual balance that high (maybe a virtual balance, but not coins transferred).

There was a guy here selling pirate debt last week which totally amounted to somewhere in the lower six figures (US).

I can verify this.....as I bought it!
868  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking to invest in.... something on: September 24, 2012, 05:07:01 PM
hey peoples

so I am looking to invest a considerable amount in *real* business / venture that has proven income that just needs abit of a cash injection. Or even a startup company that has potential.

Not sure what rate of return I would be after, perhaps a % of the business would be good =)

I know this is pretty vague and probably not the correct forum... due to what goes on here.. but I do know some people do run legit operations...

Would be looking to invest BTC (or even AUD for you australian folks) but the BTC would need to be pegged (if thats correct term?) to US/AUS/woteva currency $$$.

I dont mean any disrepect... but if your business is listed on GLBSE, involves mining, lending or anything of that nature I am not interested.
You would obviously need to provide quite abit of ID and info to prove your company exists etc etc, and there be legal contracts (not gpg signed messages... Roll Eyes )

Also if anyone has any suggestions for a better site/forum for this sort of stuff please let me know.

And yes I am aware of the stock exchange, and financial advisors but thats boring Tongue

thanks =)

How much BTC are you looking to invest?

If it is a sizable amount, I have considerable real-world opportunities.  It would have to be pegged to the USD/BTC exchange rate, and the interest rate would be negotiable.
869  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The pirate and the SEC - Alleged e-mails. on: September 24, 2012, 04:36:48 PM
I got exactly the same email an hour ago...
Here is the full copy: http://pastie.org/4791945

- Anyone know what is this about?
- How did they got my email address?

I didn't invest with Pirate, so I honestly don't know why I am receiving this anyways.

The theory is they were monitoring IP addresses that accessed various Pirate associated entities.

Care to disclose your source(s)?
A raw Pastebin link is no source at all.

I did not receive the e-mail directly.....several forum members and depositors in BTCST have confirmed receiving the e-mail, and one pasted the content and shared it in the #BTCST channel.

I cannot verify the accuracy, simply sharing it here for discussion sake.

so did the max bet change after you placed it ?

Seems with these dynamic max bets it would be extremely easy for site admins to abuse by dropping the max bet in the event of a winner (and dont drop for losers) .
Then you let it creep back up.
875  Economy / Gambling / Re: AAAAAAAHHH FU Satoshidice! FUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuUUUUUUuuuuuuu on: September 24, 2012, 02:20:49 PM

876  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: So I got an interview with Sonny Vleisides from BFL... on: September 24, 2012, 02:12:16 PM
Where's the interview? All I see is the journal of a giddy schoolgirl.

I lol'd

I love how he cannot share any details with us.....but trust him.....everything is good.

I am not crying scammer, it's just that this "interview" provides approximately zero new information.
