861  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Earning interest on cryptos on: May 20, 2019, 02:25:06 PM
I've been hearing decent feedback from BlockFi and Consensus Network. Personally though, one thing I really don't do, is to hand over funds to a custodial besides if I'm going to do a quick trade on an exchange. Especially knowing that you need to leave your funds on these platforms for one full year to actually receive something in return? Big no for me. I'd rather keep my funds safely on my cold storage.

Yep. I don't trust it either. You not in control of your funds and it's not like there are any legal agreements that can protect you since you agree to the TOS when you sign up. It's not legally bound is what I am trying to say so if something were to go wrong you can't legally do much.

This is why I would rather invest in masternodes or stake coins in my own wallet. This way you own the coins and are in control since they are in your wallet. People say it is risky and they are right. But would you rather take a risk on something you have control of or something you have absolutely no control over?
862  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do bounty participants enjoy longer or shorter campaigns? on: May 20, 2019, 02:21:20 PM
Long bounties are bs and they take advantage. Hell some go on for a year. If you do not get paid after a year of work you going to be fuming and probably want to punch your screen in. Its unacceptable.
Bounties must split their campaign into 2 months long at the most and pay within 2 months afterwards and try get listed on the exchange. Many times you wait months to be paid or get paid and then wait months for the token/coin to be listed on the exchange.
863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How much revenue can I make with these GPUs on: May 20, 2019, 02:15:38 PM
Mining altcoins with those GPU your will make $0.20-$0.40 each. It will cost you more to run then you will make. Also 1250w is overkill you only need 1000 for a 6 GPU rig.
It's crazy to think a year ago you could make 10-12x what you make now mining eth. It doesn't make sense to me. I wonder who is even mining.Only people with almost free electricity and mass GPU asic units with a large investment. This isn't really what was envisioned when crypto was created. Everyone was supposed to be able to mine. Now even with powerful GPU units you still can't make a profit.

Better mine a new altcoin as soon as it comes out and hope the coin lifts off in value.
864  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get cheap or free VPN. on: May 19, 2019, 10:40:55 PM
With windscreenVPN you get 15gb a month. With traffic bear you get 500mb but another 500mb if you tweet for them once a month. You are limited to which countries you can use.
DO not trust free vpn they just crap and not safe.

You can get good VPN like cyberghost for $3 a month if you get a 3 year contract. I have a 3 years contract with them and they great.
865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons why ICOs fail on: May 19, 2019, 10:31:45 PM
Laziness. They always give up and I think nmostly because they are taking a chance and don't fully believe in their project. Even projects I have spoken to the team have just become lost and forgotten about. They just fall off the face of the planet along with any investors money or dreams.

In my opinion, the failure of the ICO still has doubts from investors to invest in the project. maybe the design of the ICO project is not well structured, and investors are more careful about project scams, so they don't want to be trapped.
It is more related to psychology. Majority convinced themselves that the ICOs are scam. Everyone started running behind IEO. Yep, IEO is a more advanced system, but do not forget that most successful projects were entered to market with ICO.
Also don't forget that Exchanges are getting tokens for free and they can dump or pump in any time, which is bad for the projects itselves and for us - investors.

It is up to people to educate themselves enough not to support this kind of thing. Then it will just die out.
866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CannerGrow - OWN YOUR OWN CANNABIS PLANT 🌱 on: May 19, 2019, 10:28:06 PM
Where is a website to look at? Where are the plants? I don't see any. I already own several of my own anyway I just think this is very interesting but I am not seeing substance over here so whats up?
867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DO you think ICO websites help investors to choose best ICO to participate? on: May 19, 2019, 10:16:39 PM
ICO review websites often give an ICO a bad rating unless they pay them or they offer a good rating for payment. It means nothing. I always ask myself according to who are these ratings given. You absolutely must do your own research or you will come out on the short end of the stick for sure. Just make sure you don't pick a generic looking ICO web landing page. Many look the same and merely use templates. They impressive looking so I am not surprised they trick people.

As you can see by the voting, many people on this forum are realising that those ico rating websites are mostly paid by the projects. I personally don't believe in them.

I am pleased with the results of the voting as well.

I thought that ICObench is a legit website and the reviews are true made by the real experts. But they are not, the reviews are based on money what projects gave to the website, more you gave, better review you receive.
Websites were paid, they might only give some feedbacks but they don't care to how it will influence the people as long they earn, so better do necessary checking before anything.

They can also ham to legitimate projects unfortunately Sad
868  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Portfolio Strategy for Beginners: 100% Simple, Safe and Effective on: May 19, 2019, 10:08:01 PM
I appreciate the effort you put in your post. I don't think that profile is diverse enough. You should add doge and eth and 2 or 3 more main currencies for the spread. Then keep 20% of other altcoins. Small very risky investments in upcoming coins/tokens.

Why don't you have Eth anyway? What is your reasoning for not including it. With this portfolio strategy do you plan to go for fiat to crypto to fiat again and vice versa in order to build crypto reserves?
For example, you sold your crypto last time it was at 6k bought at 4k now it is at 8k again. You could use usd tether coin I guess.
869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Pizza Day 2019 on: May 19, 2019, 09:32:23 PM
Whenever I eat a pizza I always think about this. Right now the fees are too high and unstable. Eth would be a better bet for buying pizza and smaller things but I bought something the other day and kept running out of gas so I ended up paying $1 for a $30 transaction. It cannot be avoided yet. I don't fully understand how it all works or why exactly the rise in price excites everyone to make transactions all over the place or why that effects the fees so much.
870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still bother to engage non Bitcoiners? on: May 19, 2019, 09:28:40 PM
People who sit back won't accomplish anything. You have to partake in things in order to take advantage of them. If you just sit on the sidelines you never going to go anywhere. Take risks. These people probably let fear lead their lives. NO point in arguing with the inevitable and the clueless. Most people are clueless but these are the people those who have a clue profit from.

I say leave them in the dark xD
871  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be the main currency in Mars? on: May 19, 2019, 09:24:43 PM
When we have had enough as a race of killing reach other and ourselves and our planet surely a group sick of it will leave to go space adventuring ^^ Crypto would make sense and it would be like a new start, Not sure mars will be where we go but if we carry on like this we will soon have to live elsewhere. I think nodes would float in space. The problem is how do we transfer data in space? The speed of light is much too slow. Even on earth, those of you that game know about pings and right now we cannot maintain low pings worldwide never mind on mares. 21k miles over more is too much lag for the speed of light to handle.
872  Economy / Exchanges / Re: HitBTC the next exchange to become insolvent customers not able to withdraw fund on: May 19, 2019, 09:12:59 PM
KYC requests are scams. Massive flag and dead give away. This goes with ICO as well. Be very careful of ICO asking for KYC. They actually don't need it since they not an authority or bank. Just so I knew I have my "opinion" become fact I asked a lawyer, who looked at me funny when I told him about this KYC thing. He said all KYC is, is a request to prove you are who you say you are and it shouldn't be done online or asked for like this. It is just normal people asking for personal info. They not authorities so there is no law that says you have to give any info.

KYC requests = scam
They hold hostage your funds. Dirty bastards.
873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help learning about bitcoin? on: May 18, 2019, 10:46:27 PM
I suggest you do your own self-research for free before paying money for books. Then you will know what you reading is not crap. THough some people here have made good suggestions so if you up for it you can buy a book or two but do your own studies alongside reading them.

The best means to learn about Bitcoin is the Internet. We can learn much things from a crypto expert youtube channels.
Yes but not all of them are trusted and legitimate. Some of them are not teaching how to conduct a proper research to learn more about bitcoin or cryptocurrencies. Just carefully check first the profile and comments review for you to have assurance that he/she is teaching right about crypto because it is important to have proper knowledge in this crypto world.

This is why the best book is what you can find out yourself through research and experience. There so many books and get rich doing this and that books that I am not sure what to believe.
To me, I don't understand why someone would teach you to make money unless they benefit. The claims they make are too far fetched to make sense to benefit though.
If the OP just wants to learn about the technology there is plenty of free stuff.
874  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another proof that cloud mining is a scam on: May 18, 2019, 10:42:16 PM
You actually get cloud mining scripts that are sold with the intentions of ripping people off. They can be set in the admin panel to do all sorts of things, like fake users and payouts and hashpower.
You cannot actually fake hash power because there are no miners so if you look on the blockchain there is nothing but they still fake it on their website for people who do not know better.
They even come with their own little bs story of why they here and where they came from. The same with HYIP scripts. Also sold with the intentions of stealing from others.
875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hacked Cryptocurrency Exchange Cryptopia Goes Into Liquidation on: May 18, 2019, 10:37:04 PM
1 by 1 they will all go down till people open their eyes and start seeking for security. What do you think? And are DEXes going to be more usable exchanges instead of CEXes in the near future?
DEX is not a solution of that problem. While the exchange is decentralized, user and his funds are still centralized. So in that case hackers would attack users. Similar things happened with etherdelta that is now RIP.
Also, in case with DEX there is no chance for user to get a refund while centralized exchanges are responsible for other people's money and have to pay a refund. Probably this is what Binance gona do after their recent hack. We need stronger and more reputable exchanges.

Since when does CEX need to do anything. I was ripped by the CEX exchange OKEX. DEX  are the best. CEX doesn't mean safe. You give CEX your private info so if they hacked you get exposed as well.

876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CoinGecko is introducing "Trust Score" to combat fake exchange volume on: May 18, 2019, 10:24:16 PM
I think it is a good idea. I have been using coingecko for a long time, it is one of the most helpful and most frequently visited sites I use. The trust score sounds very interesting.
I really want to see how it is implemented. It will be nice to see what the outcome is of different exchanges and if anyone is shocked or surprised by some of the exchanges.
As far as I know, there is no other service like this. Very helpful in choosing what exchange to trust.
877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How To Accept Crypto Payments On my webite. on: May 18, 2019, 10:20:00 PM
I can also vouch for coinpayments. I have used them to pay for things and it works very well. https://www.coinpayments.net
Now you just need to calculate the fees involved in accepting crypto payments.

Another option is to buy a script online that generates your wallet addresses for the payments along with a QR code to scan. Then you won't pay fees. I also suggest you move your coins to a cold wallet once a week at least.
They accept multiple currencies which is always nice.
878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEW WORM BLOCKCHAIN | The Wormhole | Periodic Podcast by Lead Developer on: May 18, 2019, 09:29:19 PM
I remember healthy worm coin. It had insane POS. The coin hit low value because of that and then it just died out, I am not sure I didn't check after that since there was no activity anymore. I remember you had an avatar campaign.

What is the plan for the staking of this wallet? Is it also 20%pos 80% stake or what?

Yes much is explained in your video but you should still add a brief summary of text here with some pictures and stuff.
879  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Which one is more better: Doing bounties on Bitcointalk or Managers website on: May 17, 2019, 05:50:46 PM
Automatic bounties are always better for users and managers. Makes it easy to keep track of what is posted where and when so it is easy to find and check that rules are followed like character length or tweet hashtags or minimum posts/tweets. Manual tracking things get lost and it is very difficult to check if users fulfilled their obligations.

You need to do your due diligence and only support projects you believe in and not just any old project just to get bounty off them. You can make a lot more profit when you enjjoy and are encoraged to participate becasue you like the project and support it. Do not support projects that cannot even handle a bounty. If a project can't handle a bounty then how will they handle their project.

Most importantly!!! Never invest in a project that cheats its bounty users or hires managers known to support scams. If they scam the people that work for them then they can scam you and shut their business down.
Anyone who doesn't pay someone else for their work or treats them like crap doesn't deserve investment money.

The way a project treats its promotors tells you everything you need to know. If it doesn't go smoothly then how can you expect their project to go smoothly too?
880  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: New Bitcoin Ad Network on: May 17, 2019, 05:41:57 PM
I am interested in this service but you need more users. I think you should give away free advertising for newly registered users. Also, some more activity here would go a long way. The site looks good you just need some more eyes on it. How else are you adverting your site besides here? Maybe add it to some PTC sites and banner exchanges?
