861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which are the upcoming ICOs with working product? on: September 03, 2017, 01:59:14 PM
I recently mentioned it in another thread in this section. The ICO I wear in my signature. Cindicator creates the social and technological infrastructure needed to make effective decisions under the conditions of the high uncertainty of the new economy by combining a large number of diverse financial analysts and a set of machine-learning models into a single system. The product is already finished and can be downloaded for mobile phones for iOs and Android. The crowdsale starts on 12th September.
862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: September 03, 2017, 01:55:04 PM
I think it is either BarterDex, Jumblr or a new revised Agama version. Or a combination of all three. I am very excited because usually JL777 and its team work silently and do not do much hyping. But this time it is kinda different, so I guess it must be something bigger than a normal release. I have believed in Supernet since I first got known about Nxt two years back and I hodled since then. I hope it will pay off in the next days.

Seems kmd is going on the mooooon Smiley what was the big annoucement they were going to make today?
863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: September 03, 2017, 01:47:24 PM
Lol, NEM is already ready. It can be better, yes, but this is the complete cryptocurrency platform! And people want to buy it!

No, it is not completely ready. Please consider that NEM is still in version 0.6.x. It can be considered ready if it achieved version 1.x. If you also look at the roadmap and the features which still should be implemented then it is probably ready for exchanging NEM as a currency but not enterprise-ready and not ready for mainstream adoption in my opinion. We will get a step closer when Catapult will be released soon hopefully. But basically there is still a long way to go. I like the approach of the developer team by doing constant good work and by not hyping the coin as other developers do.
864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] æternity blockchain ∞ GET AE TOKEN ∞ [PoS x PoW | Smart Contracts] on: September 03, 2017, 01:37:23 PM
I finally got my Aeternity Stake at my Ethereum address today. Or at least I think it is Aeternity. If I look up my Eth address on Etherscan and go to the tab token, then I see instead of a name for the token only "ERC20 token". All other tokens I own are represented under their respective names. My question is now, is it really Aeternity token and if so why is not the actual token label displayed? I just want to make sure that it is Aeternity.
865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Imminent ICO suggestions? on: September 03, 2017, 01:17:34 PM
I personally only invest into ICOs which already have developed a product. The development state (beta, alpha) does not really matter. One should only be able to see how good the product is already.
This is why my favorite next ICO is Cindicator. You can see it in my signature. There is already a very good app for the well-known appstores (Apple appstore and Google appstore) anyone can try before the investment and can convince about the quality of the product.
Lately there have been a lot of ICOs where only an idea has been existed and these ICOs have collected extremely much money. The likelihood that a functioning product will end up is, in many cases, rather small. I would take care of this in your place.
866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Which tools do you use for trading and speculation? on: September 03, 2017, 01:01:19 PM
For a long time, I have only invested very selectively in altcoins and I would now like to use a small part of my Altcoin "wealth" to invest speculatively. I would therefore like to know from experienced speculators which tools they use? Are there certain sources used to make speculation decisions? Is there any software that helps? Personally, I've always focused on Twitter. However, the information there is almost obsolete for speculators after they were released.
867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: September 01, 2017, 06:32:12 PM
It does not matter how much the price has already multiplied. The ICO price of IOTA was very low. This was due to the fact that the project was not hyped and only a few were interested in it or even recognized the potential of the tech. The total ICO volume was around $600,000 (BTC price was much lower in the end of 2015 when the ICO was conducted). A joke compared to the prices today for totally over-rated products like Bancor for instance. If IOTA at that time had collected 100 million $, would it be from your point of view still favorably valued? If so, you should completely overthink your product value interpretations.

I heard that this project has been turned 1600 times this year, and now it is quite expensive, and there is still growing

868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: September 01, 2017, 06:13:53 PM
Believe me, Qora will come back. The tech is still great. There are many ICOs which have not have a finished product yet. Some ICOs do not have a product at all and just promise something for the future. Qora's tech is good enought to be one of the top - let's say at least 20-30 projects in the crypto world. The main disadvantage is the bad development and marketing management. This is the main reason for the depression of this project. If there would a good development team this coin would reach the ranks of the big projects.

Qora is a very old coin ,very very old ,noboy will pay attation to old coin now , everybody move to ICO , invest and withdraw cash.
869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about DeepOnion? on: September 01, 2017, 05:26:24 PM
Work is one way but investing in altcoins - especially in these times - is another way to make money. I looked into DeepOnion some time ago but I was not convinced about the project, so I decided not to invest in it. Today nearly all ICOs are oversold. This is fine if the project/coin really delivers or already provides great tech, but I can not recognize this for DeepOnion. There are a lot of competiting projects in the domain and I think, in the end, there will only be remain one project in each domain. The winner takes it all. The moto of the distrupting era. And I think DeepOnion will not be this project. Just my opinion.

If u want to make money, then work. Altcoin trading is as good as gambling. Better try a gambling site.
870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CND] Cindicator - Hybrid Intelligence for Financial Markets - September 12 on: September 01, 2017, 05:20:51 PM
Not only because I participate in the signature campaign but also because I am interested in all kinds of prediction tech, I installed the Cindicator app on my iPhone and what should I say, I like the app, very user friendly and intuitive - with one exception. I did some predictions/forecasts and I was 66% right but I got -25 points. How could it be? I think it would be more interesting for people if one only got points if one predicted or forcasted right and zero points if one predicted wrong. Otherwise it is very demotivating imho.
871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ARK - Blockchains Interoperability with SmartBridge 🔹 ARK on BiTTREX 🔹 on: August 29, 2017, 08:44:16 PM
Great step forward for Ark ecosystem. The team announced ARK-SWIFT integration for ARK.

What is SWIFT?

Swift is a powerful and intuitive programming language for macOS, iOS, watchOS and tvOS. Writing Swift code is interactive and fun, the syntax is concise yet expressive, and Swift includes modern features developers love. Swift code is safe by design, yet also produces software that runs lightning-fast.

Swift 4 was developed in the open at Swift.org, with source code, a bug tracker, mailing lists, and regular development builds available for everyone. This broad community of developers, both inside of Apple, as well as hundreds of outside contributors, work together to make Swift even more amazing. Swift already supports all Apple platforms as well as Linux, with community members actively working to port to even more platforms.

Features.

Swift includes features that make code easier to read and write, while giving the developer the control needed in a true systems programming language. Swift supports inferred types to make code cleaner and less prone to mistakes, and modules eliminate headers and provide namespaces. Memory is managed automatically, and you don’t even need to type semicolons. Swift also borrows from other languages, for instance named parameters brought forward from Objective-C are expressed in a clean syntax that makes APIs in Swift easy to read and maintain.
872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China Blocking ICO? on: August 29, 2017, 08:34:41 PM
I saw the news on Coindesk as well. China has already forbidden very many financial products. However, the Chinese have always found a way to continue to invest. I think that is especially so in the anonymous area. If the ban comes, then certainly less coins will flow into ICOs from Chinese investors, but it will not have so much effect in my opinion. But generally more and more institutions all over the world try to regulate or ban ICOs.
873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: August 29, 2017, 07:48:47 PM
Is there a reason or any news which has caused the price drop of around 20% since four days?

It is hard to get valid and honest information about IOTA. The thread is not providing much information. I have heard about the Slack channel where most communication is done. Any news from there?
874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves hold for longterm Good or Not? on: August 29, 2017, 03:30:06 PM
What brings you to this satement? Was there any official announcement that Waves is expanding to Chinese crypto market? At the moment Waves is very popular in Europe and Russia. The developers are mainly from Russia, so they have already gotten some good cooperations like the Burger King news some days ago, the cooperation with Gazprombank and others. If China follows then it would definetly push the price in my humble opinion and makes Waves a mid and long term investment.

Sure diversify. Waves is a good alt to hold till 2019.

And now, open soon for China, great Cheesy
875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ARK - Blockchains Interoperability with SmartBridge 🔹 ARK on BiTTREX 🔹 on: August 26, 2017, 01:37:17 PM
I early invested in Ark but I had some doubt and sold most of my tokens. I am considering to buy a bigger stake again. I have not figured out yet why Ark has increased that much since the last two weeks. Was there a big event or was there reached a big milestone?
I would also like to know what makes Ark superior over Lisk (its successor or parent acutally, if I understood it correctly). What is better in Ark compared to Lisk which is three times higher in value than Ark?
876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: August 26, 2017, 01:33:54 PM
I already own a small amount of Waves and I am thinking about to increase the amount by investing some extra BTC because this project really seems to be promising.
However I want to get answered a question first. All I know so far is that Waves is a great scalable blockchain project which allows to process more transactions per second than the industry average. But is Waves also a competitor to - lets say Ethereum? Is it possible to create smart contracts or turing complete scripts in the future?
What is the target group of Waves compared to projects like Ethereum, EOS or Lisk for example.
877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: August 26, 2017, 01:28:43 PM
Thanks a lot. This is the amount I was reading some time ago.

Yes, my fault. I did not read all the previous pages. I am used to use Google in order to search information about blockchain projects. Further the search function on Bitcointalk is weak. And Google did not give me satisfactory results to answer my question.

Nevertheless, in future I will look into the last 2-3 pages before I post on a thread.

By the way, are you releated to JL777 in any way? Just wondering because you seem to have a lot of knowledge about Komodo when I interpreted your last posts correctly.

I have sought but could not find any information about how many Jumblr Tokens one get for each 1 KMD one hold. I remember a statement months ago where someone posted that it will be something like 0.00X... Jumblr Token for each Komodo coin. Not sure if this information was right, but would be helpful to announce it somewhere (maybe it has already and I just oversaw it).
four times on this page: "The average ratio ended up being 0.00049240" appears as the post 13 back https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1605144.msg21187509#msg21187509 was quoted multiple times.

so about 25% of the posts are quoting the info you are asking about. If you do not read at least the latest page, odds are you wont learn about the latest info
878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: August 26, 2017, 11:44:39 AM
Is theymos right when he claims IOTA is centralized? I am referring to a thread of him where he was analyzing various altcoins https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2095328.0

He wrote the following about IOTA:

Quote
IOTA

The tangle design is interesting and potentially useful, though I have several serious concerns about how it will actually work long-term:

 - In order to achieve lasting, stable scalability, something will need to be done to limit bandwidth. Otherwise you still have the problem that everyone needs to download everyone else's transactions in order to be a trustless node, and this simply doesn't scale no matter what else you do. How can you split the network so that one node can trustlessly ignore a lot of the network's total transactions, but transactions are still possible cross-split? Doing something like splitting the graph into a cycle of semi-separate segments might be possible, but it seems very difficult to do this and maintain security+convergence.
 - With a chain, if miners become evil and rewrite the last 6 blocks or something, everyone is going to notice and be affected, and so a unified response (PoW change, etc.) will be fairly easy. But with a graph, maybe an attacker could just nibble at the edges in such a way that 99.99% of users are able to think "well, it's not really my problem". In fact, it may not even be easily provable that an attack happened at all.
 - I am not convinced that a tangle is stable/convergent/secure in all circumstances. Even if it seems to work under all tests so far, it may well fall apart under a clever but not-too-difficult attack, or perhaps even just on its own. The whole idea that transaction volume is what adds security to the tangle makes me uneasy, since an attacker can always produce unlimited fake transactions, while the network will only produce a "natural" number of transactions unless additional measures are taken to generate good fake transactions.

Possibly due to the IOTA devs sharing similar concerns, IOTA's software currently relies on centralized checkpointing.

Besides the question above I still have not done the transition. The good amount of IOTA I own is still on my old account. Is there a security problem if I let the coin stored on my old address? Is it required to the transition?

Unfortunately, I have not gotten a response to my above question yet. Is this topic discussed in a different thread or is just nobody interested here to talk and care about theymos' opinion about IOTA?

A different question arose in the mean time. What do the AFY characters next to the seed input field in the IOTA client mean? Does it have something to do with the quality of the chosen seed?
879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XRB]Cryptocurrency's killer app: RaiBlocks micropayments on: August 26, 2017, 11:39:12 AM
The two line split public key is really confusing. I think there should be an explanation somewhere. Nevertheless, thanks for answering my two questions.

I think Raiblocks is a really promising coin and it is hard to understand why it is that much under the radar for most investors. Everyone is looking to IOTA because it does not have any fees but there exists Raiblocks with the same feature much longer and has only a bit of the attention IOTA gets. Hope this will change soon. I bought a good stake of Raiblock coins.

I think it's a single address but you might be confused because wallet splits it in two lines. And there is an option to backup wallet seed in Advanced > Accounts
880  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: August 26, 2017, 11:28:29 AM
Okay, so it is really a big advantage if NEM is the only public blockchain implementing Mijin. Now I got why everyone is so exciting about the Catapult release and me as well now Cheesy Thanks for helping me to get the question out of the world. This is really why I pretty love the NEM community. Always friendly and helpful.

Catapult is a brand new enterprise class blockchain with not only improved performance but an increased cutting edge feature set that is designed for easy development to lower the entry barrier for rapid deployment and adoption. NEM will be the only public blockchain using this advanced architecture and will be the easiest one to integrate with the private version Mijin.

Great, thanks for sharing. NEM Authenticator seems exactly what I was looking for. I did not fully understand the technical aspect after reading but I will discuss this with my friend. He does probably do. Maybe I coming back later to have some question about it.
