861  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person who won 600k$ in lottery on: August 18, 2023, 03:34:11 PM
We have heard such stories in past where a person with very low income wins a huge amount of money and then he decides to enjoy his life and later runs out of all the money he had.
The moral of the story is to learn money management, stay low key when you win big and plan and invest wisely.
Not everyone has the patience to follow these simple rules and hence end up in poverty where they belong.
862  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: August 18, 2023, 03:26:26 PM
I was in argument with someone. His view is that people who gamble are those that what they have is not sufficient for them and so they try to make more money from gambling. He said if you have sufficient money to take care of your needs that you won't think of gambling. He made reference to some rich people, who don't gamble because they have sufficient money to even gift to charity but that those rich who still gamble are only addicted to it not just because of the money. Therefore, that the percentage of the rich gambling is very small compared to those in middle class and lower class.

So my question is, is the percentage of the rich gambling lower than the middle and lower class?

To be honest, I think the same that people who are not already rich or lets say the lower and middle class ones are the one who gamble the most.
Why they gamble can be tricky because some think they gamble for fun while others think they gamble to make more money.
That can be debate in itself but those are the ones which the gets the casino more profits.
863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What you will do? on: August 18, 2023, 03:15:35 PM
Everyone must have experienced loss, whether it's a big or small loss. And he experienced loss more often than he won. Has anyone ever experienced boredom playing gambling because they have been losing more often than winning? If anyone has experienced this, what did you do?

I'm giving out a poll to find out what all of you did and which one all of you voted for the most. I choose the number one because if I can take a break from playing gambling, I feel that I can handle my emotion with good, which can save some money. I already tried to take a break for a while to calm myself down and that worked for me.

Taking breaks inbetween gambling has been more beneficial to me than playing continuously.
It has not only limited my losses but has also helped me in revaluation of my strategies since I got the time to think about what went wrong.
It has also helped me in being aware of whats happening around because otherwise gambling everyday had been a routine knowing less of whats happening around.
Occasional breaks are good and thus helps in a healthy gambling lifestyle.
864  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling by financial dependents. on: August 18, 2023, 02:12:15 PM
A family member reported to me that her eighteen years old son has started gambling. She is not worried that he is gaming but her problem is that he is a student that solely depends on her for everything he needs. Her fear is also that her son might start stealing from her if he has no access to the money he needs to gamble. My relative has even started suspecting that some money she feels was misplaced might have been stolen by her son.

I spoke to my nephew and he told me that he has never stolen from his mother to gamble. And he gambles with only his savings from his weekly stipend he receives from the family. And he won't gamble if he has no savings to do that. From my observation, he is a responsible gambler that is just enjoying the game and making a little money occasionally. The gambling age in my country is 18+, but his mother is insisting that he must stop. What will be your advice for this young boy?

If I were at her position then I would probably teach him trading and investing. I would say him that if you want to gamble then consider it the same and try to make profits from it.
This way he would be able to have fun while learning to trade and make profits. Also, he could still play gambling games or pace bets out of the stipend by allocating 20% for gambling and 80% for trading.
You just have to find a way to know what is working for him. There are other ways to try as well. For instance, I would tell him to earn some money now that he is 18 and then he can gamble what he has earned.
This way he would start earning on his own and learn to value money. Probably he would quit gambling after this since he would know how hard it is to earn money.
865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Next Bitcoin Bull Run: Is It Tied to the Next Halving? on: August 17, 2023, 04:39:51 PM
The price of BTC is definitely tied to bitcoin halving because the mining reward keeps decreasing in ever halving.
So it makes sense that bitcoin price will grow after every bitcoin halving. The rate at which new coins enter the market keeps diminishing causing the surge in BTC price.
But we can't accurately predict when the price will increase and so it's better to buy more before the halving.
We have recovered well from the bottom of bear market and so I think now would be a good time to start buying.
866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I found my Bitcoin books from 2016 on: August 17, 2023, 04:34:51 PM
believe me,  Bitcoin investment is not easy for those that have no good source of income.

I believe you. I read your whole post and I felt what you have gone through. I can understand how it feels when you say bitcoin investment is not easy for those who don't have a good source of income.
This is because when I started my journey with bitcoin I was as hungry for it as you were and tried to grab every opportunity to accumulate some coins.
Even I didn't have any income back then and so accumulating BTC was a tough task. As days passed the wallet balance kept growing.
I had sold some of my earnings in bitcoin on few occasions which I don't regret. It was a good journey for me fortunately.
867  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wrong way to accumulate. on: August 17, 2023, 03:28:05 PM
Basically almost every bitcoiner is in for accumulation committing  certain amount of investment with a timeline to it. It could be for short term or long term plan.

Some investors starts with a short term in mind then later progresses to a long term arising from a reassessment on how they were unable to meet  up their planned portfolio target with the initial short term frame.
For it's healthy when people set an accumulation target in accordance to their financial strength, as doing otherwise by acting like you're in a competition with other investors you may end up uncontrollably investing all you  have got (what I term hyper-investment) with nothing left in hand to solve other pressing financial needs/demands putting yourself under pressure where you may have to alter the total amount you have invested, jeopardizing your plans.

You also risk investing beyond what you can afford to lose which is not what any wise bitcoin investor would do. Bitcoin accumulation is not supposed to be a stressing and self-pressured process but some persons doing it in that way thinking they had arrived late to bitcoin and have to meet up, but that's all a fallacy. With bitcoin you're never late, you only arrived at your right time.

What are your own thoughts on wrong ways you think people follow in  bitcoin accumulation.

What I think is that it is not people's fault that they invest more than their budget because it is bitcoin after all.
Bitcoin has created a reputation and trust that it is bound to achieve new heights in price which is the foremost reason why everyone wants to get their hands on it.
Even I have been trying to accumulate as much as I can and will continue the same. But you do have a point that sometimes over investing kills our goals instead of achieving it.
Sometimes we have to sell at the wrong time just because we don't have that emergency fund we should have since we used it in over investing in bitcoin.
868  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | Instant withdrawals!|ARGENTINA & AVFC on: August 17, 2023, 02:56:15 PM
Well there are many VPN options, the main problem with free VPNs is that when you have time to use them they always limit the time, there are many very good ones, there is one that comes for browsers with chrome, it seems to me to be excellent, so far I It seems the best and it does not slow down any internet speed, as far as I am concerned I am not one of those who use VPNs a lot, but the ones that I have guaranteed, of all of them I prefer the one called Hola Vpn and it is like any tab that It is added to the browser, I recommend it 100%. For you who always use it, it is an infallible option, obviously the paid version is much better, it has no time limit, as before it was difficult for me to enter sites that are not casinos, but if sites here where I am are prohibited, well I used that VPN and it's going very well for me, in fact no casinos should limit the use of VPNs, I know they have to comply with a number of requirements for their licenses and all that, but to tell the truth it's better to have an option than not come in and play and enjoy the casino.

There are times that I have seen that casinos that when the player uses the VPN and wins, they take the money and do not let it be withdrawn, because they detected the use of VPN, I think that the most logical thing here is for the casino in question to allow to that user to withdraw the money that they deposited, not to keep the money they deposited or anything, but that does not happen, most of the time when things like this happen, what they do is block the account and take the money, which seems very bad to me. For me, things always have to go in a good direction, always acting well, casinos should not fully allow the use of VPNs, what matters is that people get in, have fun, spend money in the casino and get to see the casino as one of the best entertainment platforms and so they continue to spread the word so that this casino is one of the busiest, I think that should be the case here.

Using VPNs is strictly prohibited on many casino sites and it's obvious that they freeze the money because they have to check it for AML regulations.
People have used VPNs to access casino sites and launder money which is why such strict rules have been imposed by casino sites.
If they don't impose such rules then people would easily launder money and that is bad for casino's reputation as well as for the country.
869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Irresponsible behavior at the Las Vegas Casino on: August 17, 2023, 02:45:02 PM
Lol, the guy literally was showing his private parts to the audience. I wonder if he was really that drunk or drugged.
How can he climb up, dance, show his private parts, fight with the security if he was that drunk.
I guess he did it deliberately or may be was crazy or lost his senses or something.

Well, to tell you the truth, I don't think the boy was drunk, and he was because he had to have had something very strong, because to get to that, he had to have erased all the elegance and care that one must have in behavior anywhere. Even though I know someone that alcohol wreaks havoc on them and they are capable of doing that and more, at least that one got naked, but there are others who when they get drunk choose to pick fights and hit each other, that's why sometimes in the street You sometimes see drunks with ugly faces, with mop and swelling, because they go too far and there are people who don't tolerate it and beat them up, sometimes it's good for a person who isn't good at drinking to control themselves so they don't make a fool of yourself, more in casinos, or in any place, party, meeting, anything or event.

As far as I'm concerned, I think the boy was high on drugs, and it's a shame, because he not only made a fool of himself but also drugs, which I don't like because it's very bad for your health, how many people don't use drugs for suffer infators and die? the overdoses and all those things, what I think is that this boy must be very sorry for what he did, I think that at some point we have gotten drunk and have done some silly things, but it is good to do it in our houses where no one tells us they are going to ridicule, that is something that can be done, but nevertheless the feeling is not pretty, I only did it once and the feeling that comes over it is very ugly, I really did not like it because what I took was a "miche" almost directly from the almabique, so it is the strongest liquor there is, I have not even gotten drunk with tequila, only with that, so what I think about this is that we should not fall for him as if we were the great judges, he must be sorry and quite sorry for what he did, also the fact that this was published is even more embarrassing aglo, I think that the shame he must feel is very great, also we can all make mistakes, nobody is perfect.

Very true. He would have definitely felt guilty once he was back to his senses. The fact that he made it to the news would have been a mental torture for him.
Just imagine how his neighbors would behave with him when they got to know about this. It would have surely made his life tragic.
Coming to the gambling part, I think it's better not to drink so much when you are gambling or may be just have 1 or 2 glasses but that would be it.

871  Economy / Gambling / Re: BC.GAME do not support on: August 16, 2023, 02:44:03 PM
Answering everyone's question... It's been almost a month since I've been waiting for the site's response and I still haven't been successful so far. There are two tickets in the post because the support itself, not giving a solution to the first one, opened another one. I haven't put pictures yet because I couldn't do that here. But as soon as I figure out how to do it, I'll post the images of the conversations. My problem is not with withdrawal! It's with affiliate rewards.

It's almost another month now and I hope you have your query resolved but in case it's pending then I am sorry for your loss.
Since you have newbie account, your pictures won't show up here anyway but you can still post the links to the pictures for others' reference.

Just go to https://talkimg.com/
Upload your images and then share the links here.
872  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Is there a site where you can withdraw without deposit? on: August 16, 2023, 02:34:35 PM
Are there sites where you can actually withdraw coins? I mean gambling sites. It doesn't have to be a lot of money, but I used to have the impression that there were more sites like this and it was much easier to withdraw free money. I know there is freebitcoin that gives you free btc every hour, duckdice is also a faucet - do you know any other sites you can recommend?

What is the purpose of that to be honest ?
Freebitco.in is a faucet which provides few satoshis every hour and yes it does allow you to withdraw the earnings but all of such sites have a minimum withdrawal amount.
I can't think of any genuine reason why would a person want to withdraw without depositing anything.
873  Local / India / Re: Uber shines light on acceptance of bitcoin on: August 16, 2023, 02:18:58 PM
I don't think Uber will start it worldwide anyways. Initially it'll just be in American or probably European countries which are slightly crypto friendly and only after it is able to asses the success of this payment method that it'll bring to other countries. problem isn't only on the customer side, governments will be afraid that Uber might take away it's earnings directly outside the country using Cryptos and no country would want that to happen.

Yes, you are correct they will experiment with Bitcoin payment system most probably in Europe or in South America. Depending on the success of this payment system they would do a systematic roll out globally. I still don't think they would be able to use it in India. I do agree such a gesture by Uber would help Bitcoin mass adoption though.
I don't think mass adoption will be this easy, first thing is how convenient will they be able to make this payment system. Because if you see bitcoin fees and transaction times are pretty high. Which means no one would be willing to pay additional fees for their ride fare unless they deeply want to pay using bitcoin. Also the time is an issue as well, so practical issues is always something that I look forward to whenever someone talks about bitcoin mass adoption.

I do agree that mass adoption won't be so easy. It will definitely take a good amount of time for crypto mass adoption.
I personally think when few giant companies get into crypto only then adoption will start slowly and gradually increase.
Coming to transaction time and fees, don't you think people can use lightning network on daily basis to overcome these issues.
For example: Once a user setup lightning channel with Uber he will be able to make fast and cheap payments as long as he continues to use Uber.
874  Local / India / Re: Independence day Trivia Quiz on: August 16, 2023, 02:08:08 PM
The initiative is good but I think it should have been well planned and delivered. We should have prepared this a week earlier so that we could have got more engagement.
Also, @Bitcoin Smith the questions should have been asked in some online quiz platform because if one posts the answers it wouldn't be hard for others to post the same.
Lets plan out the next competitions to get more traction. Still it was better than nothing and I appreciate your efforts.
875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin obsession! on: August 14, 2023, 12:03:58 PM
It is conventionally taken that obsession to something is bad(wrong) and people are mainly advised to do away with behaviours of obsession to anything as it could result to their harm. And on this note I want us to look into bitcoin obsession, discussing objectively about it without sentiment or prejudice for the sake of  impacting rational knowledge in the course of the discuss.

But before we proceed you might wanna have a refreshing definition/meaning of obsession. According to the Britannica dictionary, obsession is a state in which someone thinks about someone or something constantly or frequently especially in a way that is not normal. While, the Oxford dictionary defines it as an idea or thought that continually preoccupies or intrudes on a person's mind.

Now, it is undeniable and an underlying fact that bitcoin possesses multiple advantageous features spanning from anonymity, decentralization, cancellation of third party, pseudonymity, P2P etc, all encapsulated towards financial freedom.

With obsession when it's gambling we give a strong NO with our reasons attached cause obsession is just another form of addiction. So lets talk about obsession (addiction) to bitcoin. I felt in a way it might help bitcoin enthusiasts like myself and others to knows  and understand in clear terms if bitcoin obsession is bad(wrong) or not.

That was a lengthy post for saying "Lets discuss on bitcoin obsession". It could have been shorter.

With bitcoin, there can be 2 types of obsession from my perspective which are trading bitcoin and the bitcoin technology.
Getting obsessed with bitcoin trading can have significant impact because over trading can cause huge losses which one should avoid.
Getting obsessed with bitcoin technology has no harm and will give us immense knowledge of the bitcoin technology.
876  Local / India / Re: why indians afraid to invest in crypto on: August 14, 2023, 11:50:58 AM
It's good that x.com is not banned by the Indian government thinking it as a porn site. I did saw an Instagram account saying it was banned but it isn't.
If x coin was launched by Elon I would definitely invest in it because Elon is doer and a project with active development, huge fame and support will surely get good profits.

If it was a xx or xxx then the government would have certainly banned those domain. For your knowledge purpose, xx.com is available and is for sale. Meanwhile xxx.com has already been banned by the government. A single X doesn't refer to porn or nudity by it refers to an X which also means multiple if we take it literally from mathematics. That is why Mr Musk renamed Twitter to X as he plans to add many more features to it. Most super apps have failed to make any mark in the past. Let's see how it works out for X.com.

For the record, if Twitter goes with this level of nudity level, then we don't need the porn sites at all. (I hope you will understand what I am talking). Grin

It's ironic that porn is illegal by law in India and banned in every site however they allow it on 'X' aka twitter with no restrictions at all which really shows that how strict the security system of India.

How can we expect them to undersatand Bitcoin. Roll Eyes

Lol, I know.  Grin

But only someone insane would like to watch porn on Twitter or Reddit. Why would anyone do that when they have better options.
On a serious note, I wish Elon does something better for the crypto community. He has a great power in his hands and only time will tell if he uses it well.
877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on: August 14, 2023, 11:44:41 AM

Most of the people are supporting France which is kinda obvious but if Australia somehow wins then it will be a pretty good reward for them.
The odds are better on Stake when compared to freebitco.in. I usually bet on freebitco.in but it seems that I might have to reconsider it.
I always find the stake odds much better than the other betting sites and also you will find a larger variety of games to bet on Stake.com as compared to freebitco or other sites. Stake has full-fledged sports section which can be found here https://stake.com/sports/home

Coming to the match, it is a draw at full time 90 minutes, Both Australian and the France women's team are unable to score any goal and it is right now tied at 0-0.
We are going into the extra time and if the score still remains level, plenty kicks will decide the fate of this quarterfinal match.
I think here you need to understand few things www.stake.com is full gambling and sporting betting side and www.freebitco.in is a "faucet" which is supporting few sporting events as well, but mostly odds are by their own system which are mostly not comparable to any sports betting side because here volume of bets and wagering is also very less so just because of this we never have ideal odds from this site.

I was betting in few events but due to very few options and odds different now I already quit this and switching to other sites which are much better and having enough options as well for the betting.

This was expecting to be ended on penalties or extra time because both teams were doing their best in throughout this event with Australia were having home advantage, but performance was excellent from both side and at the end France were unlucky as their 10th penalty was wasted and allow Australia for the spot into last four.

The odds are not decided by freebitco.in or their own system but they have a Parimutuel betting system.
It basically consists of a pool and the number of players and volume of bets decides the odds.
But yeah, Stake is a full-fledged sportsbook which offers numerous games and betting options.
So there is no comparison between them.
878  Local / India / Re: India proposes AI-powered conversational payments system — RBI on: August 12, 2023, 07:44:12 AM
The problem with UPI lite is that it only allows INR 500 transaction per day without using UPI PIN. I am still unable to relate why I would need INR 500 transaction with the lite version. I could easily withdraw cash or borrow money for 24 hours from a friend for such an amount. I somehow feel they needed a new feature to be added to the UPI and they came up with an abrupt new feature. As per my understanding not many have availed this feature. The same fate will happen with the AI chat bot. Indians are very particular about finance and don't generally accept new technology associated with it.

I am using UPI lite on daily basis and I find it useful because I don't have to enter my PIN every time I make a transaction.
I am using Phonepe and we can add 1000rs to UPI lite which is sufficient for day to day transactions.
Just when the balance is low we can add more funds to it to keep it going and I personally think it's good that amount is restricted to 1000.
It will keep us secured from unwanted transfers of large amount.

Coming to the AI chat based payments I don't find it useful at all. I mean, why would I chat with AI when I have to make the payment.
The way it is now is far better. Just enter the details and send. Chatting for payments would be ridiculous and I would definitely not use it.
879  Local / India / Re: why indians afraid to invest in crypto on: August 12, 2023, 07:38:47 AM
you do know the next pump would be triggered by Elon Musk.
Funny things happen too and imagine what if Elon comes with his own crypto called 'X'. Cheesy

Yeah, it is a 22 year old dream of Elon Musk to create a super app, which he plans to do with Twitter. The possibility of launching his own X crypto token has been denied by him. You can do a Google search and you would see a lot of articles surrounding this topic. He would integrate a few crypto into the platform and those would get a big push from the market. By the way the domain x.com was purchased by Musk before he created PayPal long back.

It's good that x.com is not banned by the Indian government thinking it as a porn site. I did saw an Instagram account saying it was banned but it isn't.
If x coin was launched by Elon I would definitely invest in it because Elon is doer and a project with active development, huge fame and support will surely get good profits.
880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: August 12, 2023, 07:27:00 AM
If you are onto gambling for the first time it's not possible to get addicted to gambling because you haven't tasted what winning feels like, you will be consumed by doubts and uncertainty.

But wait till you have a taste, win some money, that's where you start feeling like there is more if you keep digging, is this not where gambling addiction starts?

We have had a lot of conversations about gambling addiction, but I had the same conversation with someone close yesterday and this was my answer to him.

Do you think its possible to become addicted to gambling when you haven't win a dime or after you win?

I think addiction starts after you win, even if it's just once, that's when you start gambling recklessly and you also start betting higher.

Obviously. Only when someone has won a reward the greed kicks in and the he wants to win more.
At first it's the greed that makes a person gamble frequently and that is how it to develops to a habit and then addiction.
If a person won't win anything then he would soon lose interest in gambling and that's how gambling has been designed.
