881  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tom Williams ~ The Smoking Gun(s) or Phin's Pholly on: September 06, 2011, 12:02:15 PM
This thread is really jumbled and very confusing.  Was anything actually discovered/confirmed?  Is Tom Williams = Bruce Wagnar?

I believe half the fun of this thread is taking the mass amounts of random information and concocting your own tale of the MyBitcoin Fiasco.

I am currently working on a site taking excerpts from this thread and putting in blanks for certain nouns, verbs, and adjectives so we can all have some MyBitcoin Mad Libs fun.

Honestly though, based on information from this thread, it would lead one to believe there is a decent connection with either Bruce or someone affiliated with Bruce, and a Tom Williams.

I would also say I think there is way more to this story than we will ever know, unknown parties that use guns and don't use the Internet.  But that theory will be in the second Mad Libs book, stay tuned.

Oh awesome, now the Disney club has made it's way into the thread.

Make sure to let everyone know, I think it is DisneyWorld, but could be DisneyLand, that has a full underground tunnel system that is basically under the whole park.  Like a little city under the ground.  Obviously for when they prepare for the take over.
883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Discussion between SolidCoin Founder and Gavin Andresen on: September 06, 2011, 03:45:36 AM
I do feel the lead developer of Bitcoin shouldn't be ignorant about what is going on in his own "scene". And he should try at least to use his influence with people he knows.
Total bs.  Gavin needs to focus on gavin, all devs not only hate this "scene", but have taken it to the point where these forums are not connected with Bitcoin.org.   Stop the silly slander and any focus on Gavin, misunderstanding, he has nothing to do with the shit going on.
884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mooncoin - Solidcoin/Namecoin to BTC Exchange on: September 06, 2011, 03:43:40 AM
9.Phony Whois - Partial phony California USA address. FYI Complaint filed with ICAAN and Net4India.

I will fully support any digital currency not backed by malicious Bitcoin users.  So far it is SolidCoin, but I want it to be something else with even less bullshit surrounding it.  But so far it is definitely the BTC users in the way wrong here (this is not an indication that CoinHunter is "in the right", but you are just being a horrible human at this point).
885  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Event: Bitcoin Hackathon, 2.-4. September, Aalto Venture Garage, Finland on: September 06, 2011, 03:35:08 AM
"- rfid tag powered children's storybook + nfc mobile app (nokia's ideasproject winner)"

That is awesome.   Damn, seemed like a cool ass event.    I was going to ask to post pictures and more links from the even, but the Facebook page seems to have a lot of stuff.
886  Other / Off-topic / Re: Freemasons Shut Down Public Access to Somethingaweful Bitcoin (SA) Forums on: September 06, 2011, 03:32:19 AM
I read this thread and wonder: who is trolling who?
Are you saying that bitrebel is actually an SA goon?
887  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BayFiles - New uploading site from the people behind Piratebay on: September 06, 2011, 03:29:39 AM
You should post this in Technical Development thread.  Maybe a programmer will get in touch with Bayfiles and talk geek to them, figure out what features are needed for these download sites to accept bitcoin.  Seems like a killer app.

I wish you the best of luck with this venture.  Just had to pop in and say as a graphic designer by day, sometimes, I dig your work.   The stuff in the university folders is great.  I can see people might complain about 'too much' going on in those images, but I see for the events and things they are promoting, they work great.
889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Discussion between SolidCoin Founder and Gavin Andresen on: September 06, 2011, 03:11:22 AM
I understand Gavin has very little influence or control over the other developers. What I didn't appreciate was Gavin telling me to "listen to" the hacker which attacked the network. I had already fixed the issues which artforz was taking advantage of to disrupt service to thousands of people. If you can't see that it is indeed offensive to come into a channel and tell someone that the guy attacking the network you support is smart and worthy of being listened to then I can't help you.
You have to accept that the intention was not to offend, it was just harsh truth regarding ArtForz who, though in a way I fucking hate beyond belief, is doing that dev / programmer thing of breaking other peoples toys for no real reason.   I still think what he did is shit, but man, attempting to slander Gavin's name through the forums as a "Hacker Supporter" when that is blowing what he is saying out of proportions.  If he told ArtForz to do the attacks, he is a hacker supporter.  If he even said what Art did was a good thing, he is a hacker supporter.  He only said for you to listen to him, and take it as a compliment that it took a 'smart guy' fuck with your network, it would have sucked if he was an idiot.

Quote
If artforz had any decency about him he would have simply left our discussion where it was (about 5 lines worth). Instead he went malicious and people are congratulating him on it? The mind boggles.
I can't agree with you enough here, it makes me sad some of the actions that come from Bitcoin users.  I don't think they teach 'be the bigger person' in school anymore or something.

Quote
When bitcoin starts being attacked will the same people be congratulating the FBI or SomethingAwful trolls for "strengthening" the network?
If it survives, yes.   Will it be the same for SolidCoin, time will tell, I think you are doing well so far with so much bullshit going on with SolidCoin.
890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] New Solidcoin Client Fully Open-Source! on: September 06, 2011, 03:00:41 AM
Oh my, CoinHunter and ArtForz in civil 'tech' conversation.  Surely I am in Bizzaro world :p
891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Discussion between SolidCoin Founder and Gavin Andresen on: September 06, 2011, 02:56:09 AM
More +1 Gavin praise.  I had not read all that shit until now.  Even giving the benefit of the doubt to RealSolid on how he initially went into the conversation, his not accepting the fact that Gavin does not = the Bitcoin supporters nor control them, well there you go, the rest of the conversation is pretty much moot after that.

I can put 60 GH/s on creating a new fork.

I am going to personally attempt to just let you guys play without judgement.  I can see that nearly all hate toward SolidCoin advancement is almost desired, it is hard to see things otherwise.   This is not saying that it will fail, in fact, going through some of your guys' tests may make it the strongest coin ever.  Doubt it, but I am not fully convinced SC is such the failure people make it out to be.
894  Economy / Services / Re: Comic Book Commissions -- Your Choice on: September 06, 2011, 01:48:38 AM
I really dig your take on Splinter.  Been thinking about doing commission art myself, please post if you have had results / buyers.
895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help us Help Bitcoin Help you help ...us on: September 06, 2011, 12:59:53 AM
Let me add on a thick layer of hypocrisy  as I am pretty sure every American state has a sponsored lottery of some kind.
896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help us Help Bitcoin Help you help ...us on: September 05, 2011, 08:04:28 PM
What's that tell you about the US?
That you hate it, at least what I gather from the posts in this thread.

I can see an opinion on the matter, but yeah, there is some personal shit going on with you and this issue.

Again though, you kind of mentioned something about searching and telling someone to change this, I just asked for specifics, and even through your anger, I can look past that and still am curious as to who it is I should be contact and what should I be telling them to add Bitcoin to?
897  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Closed-source SolidCoin violates Berkeley DB license on: September 05, 2011, 08:02:14 PM
I don't play WoW and I've never had any WoW gold, either.

EVERYBODY STOP

And let us take a second to appreciate what a piece of shit "game" World of Warcraft is, where wolftaur felt it necessary, and rightly so, to make sure it is known no matter what, he doesn't play WoW.
898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help us Help Bitcoin Help you help ...us on: September 05, 2011, 07:54:36 PM
Now who are you again and why am I not allowed on your site?

Where is this search where I can tell whoever that they need to add Bitcoin?   Please make the original post mas clear.
899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: An open proposal to CoinHunter on: September 05, 2011, 07:45:52 PM
I have to admit that I had fun writing "praise" Cheesy I don't know why you see hate everywhere. Calling some crappy software crap is not hate, it is stating facts. I know from your podcasts that you are not an "early adopter" to call something a scam, see mybitcoin. Anyway, why are there no new episodes?
I see the hate based on the means people are choosing to expose the flaws in the program and/or the person behind the program.    If it was only about the program, I'd say different, but mostly it stems from how he is handling the issues with his program.

Meh, I am a mid adopter.  I was part of the Goxing, my email and info was out there to the world.  But yeah, MyBitcoin I actually just never trusted from the beginning (in a oddly, I made this thread eventually regarding them https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=29055.0 before the big let down, I am a predictor!!).

Thanks for listening btw! Cheesy   I had to put a pause on things because "IRL" gets in the way.  I had an interview lined up with the BitPit pool operator (who also had a JavaScript Bitcoin miner), but I just haven't had time to do anything on top of being out of the loop of BTC news myself.  I might pop out a 15 minute ep or something soon, I actually have subscribers to the show and it scares me :x
900  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: An open proposal to CoinHunter on: September 05, 2011, 07:25:46 PM
I think it is beyond obvious that CoinHunter isn't going to budge and in fact has managed to become a bigger dick than yesterday with his current post on the SC site forum.

This idiot actually believes that Bitparking and Ruxum had no effect whatsoever on Solidcoin and that Moonco.in's tenfold increase in volume was due to people adopting SC rather than dumping it at the only place left to do so LOL...
