JUST IN - 🇺🇸 US Congressman Brad Sherman on #Bitcoin: "I don't believe that Saratoshi Nagamoto was innovative." https://t.co/qTWnndaaem

https://twitter.com/BitcoinMagazine/status/1684220413021155331?t=QBbWfL_o9A5mm5_fWGq71A&s=19

Mr. Sherman indicates " Saratoshi Nagamoto"

But who is Saratoshi Nagamoto?

Those who can't spell the name Satoshi Nakamoto correctly, how can we give them the right to decide the fate of Bitcoin???

The opinion of Mr. Brad Sherman should not matter to the Bitcoiners.  Cool

What will they say next? The amount you send to us is not near what we asked for? Then they will ask for another transaction. This time they will say that you can not send the missing amount as that is too small to be considered as a transaction. Then they will ask for the fee with full amount that they will give you. The moment I saw that they asked you to calculate the fee amount, this is what came to my mind.

There's no way this is a legit thing. It screams scam right to your face. What you have in that wallet/account, consider it lost. Don't try to get it back or listen to them. Don't put a penny in that thing.
Move on to something new and consider this a lesson. Don't make the same mistake again.

The scammers know that the people have become intelligent, and they need to come with new ways to scam people, the ways which do not look scam at the first sight like asking to pay for taxes etc. Some people will find these things legit and they may pay these scammers keep their business running. Sad

Some sites may also give you free money and ask you to deposit certain amount as a proof that you are a human and not a robot. In shorts, many scams are being taking place in cryptocurrency world and one need not to be greedy and do not fall for any offer which seems too easy to get the money.

Remember making money is always hard and usually easy ways to earn money will lead to scam.
905  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: CBDC in Russia on: July 26, 2023, 05:57:40 PM
From August 1, the law will come into force, but CBDC won't work everywhere and it is not yet clear how this will work in practice.

I do not understand the idea of CBDC. The country does not want bitcoin to be legalized but since they see the people's interest in crypto coins, they decide to launch their own CBDCs. The government control CBDC with no control over the supply is a no threat to bitcoin.
Also when all the countries do not have their CBDC, how will they operate within the countries? One contury want to trade in fiat while other in CBDC  Huh  Or will the people be allowed to buy bitcoin through CBDC ?

I don't see this model working well as of the developments till now Huh
906  Economy / Gambling / Re: The Rise of Crypto Gambling: What You Need to Know on: July 26, 2023, 05:00:49 PM
I admire your trust in the casinos suggested by the community. But that doesnt mean you shouldnt do your homework before working with them anyway. Consider the casino's operational transparency, licensing, and history of managing customer complaints in addition to its position in online forums while making your decision.

That some people don't fully grasp KYC is a valid point. But I feel compelled to add that sniffing out wrongdoing is only part of the story. It's a rule that needs to be followed so that crimes like identity theft and financial fraud don't happen. It has nothing to do with how large or small a gambler you are and is instead a measure taken to maintain trustworthiness and openness in the online gambling system.
The people that are not easily willing to complete KYC verification at casinos when demanded are going to have nowhere to go for their gambling activities in the near future because there will be strict regulations then, and someone who doesn't complete their verification on time would simply not be allowed to use a platform, gambling is a very far thing, so people need to start getting used to this system because it is most likely here to stay.

While most of us believe that a casino that operates under a license tends to be more safe and secure for us and our assets, this small group of people think that a casino that has a license and asks for KYC verification is going against their privacy, like they are the only ones being asked for it.
But even so you can still gamble without the obligation to do KYC, with the limits set by the casino itself, so in my opinion it's not a problem if you want to maintain your personal identity by not doing KYC, you only need to deposit and withdraw below the limit. But yes, when you get big profits with small capital, of course you also need to do KYC if you want to withdraw the winnings you get in your gambling.

KYC cannot be avoided even though it is contrary to the wishes of anonymity because the average gambling platform has implemented it, except maybe a gambling platform that does not have a license, that is possible, but it is not safe for you to gamble.

And it seems that this policy is indeed based on the rise of gambling activities that are misused, and including gambling using crypto which is experiencing increasing adoption.

KYC is not a hindrance in the growth of crypto gambling as people are ready to do KYC in return for doing crypto gambling. The advantages of crypto online gambling are more than fiat gambling. So that is the reason that online gambling is increasing day by day as more people are leaving physical gambling or gambling through fiat money and moving towards gambling through cryptocurrencies.

KYC cannot be avoided in online gambling or offline gambling, so I don't think we have a choice of gambling without KYC.
907  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | Instant withdrawals!|ARGENTINA & AVFC on: July 26, 2023, 04:23:10 PM
I like that how Duelbits representative has accepted their mistake and apologized for the inconvenience. They have even credited $1k bonus as a gesture of apology to the user account. Every casino doesn't apologize for their mistake like this, giving a bonus is far away.

Anyway issue resolved and they did not request KYC.
Congrats man! $20k withdrawal without the KYC verification requirement is really a positive thing there.
Oh wow! Such a generous for a honest mistake. Normally a casino will only resolve the case without compensation about the hassle that it gave but duelbits is quite generous. I hope no one would ever tried to exploit it and abuse their generosity. Actually this is the first time I saw a casino that had been honest for their mistake and gave bonus, its just amazed me.

This also shows the creditability of this casino and gamblers can safely gamble here without any issues.

In times when most of the casino are not user friendly, some of them only looking to get money from the gamblers, casino like Duelbits do exists who give bonus to the users, if there is any mistake by the casino and inconvenience is faced by the gambler.
908  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A opinion on regrets on: July 26, 2023, 03:50:10 PM
We regret about missing Bitcoin, then about XRP then about Ethereum then Doge then Shiba then Pepe (these are some top of my head and from what I've come across in my crypto term).

Point being there are always new opportunities and dwelling on regrets is futile.

There is nothing as an opportunity being missed as the prices retrace back and give us another opportunity to invest and take advantage of the surging prices. Some people do not understand this logic, and they just big high, thinking that train has been mised and they just do not want to be left out. It is at such times when they buy at higher prices and prices start to dump.

Patience is the key to trading and if you have patience you will not FOMO and most of the time, will not regret your decisions (as 80% of the time you will take the right entries)

Ok. I readed all the comments. Thanks for helping me to understand the situation. I gambled wrong and with money that i coudnt lose. Thanks for all and im going to close the post.

Good that you understand your mistake and now you know that you should never gamble with the money which is important to you and without that money you face difficulties to meet your day to day expenses.

Am still wondering why the thread remained open till now since OP have already make the clarification on being satisfied with the responses

Just today the OP told that the matter is resolved. So even if OP does not lock this thread or do not know how to lock it, the mods will lock it themselves in a few days.
Better we do not bump it any further.
910  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: July 25, 2023, 07:41:24 PM

Usually, we see gambling addicts as a failure but with a definition of a successful addict, it doesn't sound like a complete failure at all. A gambler who found his craft or someone who has found what he is good at is not a failure. As long as he can make money out of it, I guess he can live off it and be proud of it.

I wonder if there really is a successful gambling addict though because usually, they are not just addicted to gambling but also to alcohol and drugs.

I do not think that successful gamblers can be classified as gambler addicts. A successful gambler won't play excessive gambling. He won't take more than the predefined risk and won't chase losses.

A gambling addict is a person who has all these habits of gambling with emotions and having no money management. So such a gambler who is addicted to gambling can never be a successful one but I would say they are the unsuccessful gamblers who lose more money than winning.
911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My easy way to teach your kids bitcoin. on: July 25, 2023, 02:52:40 PM
That is the closest best we could do for the kids and let them understand how it works or what it is. One thing about the today’s generation, they learn very fast! They are techies and they love to have their phones with them whenever they are having dinner or lunch or if they are crying!! I know not the best practice but it is the new normal for today’s generation and today parents too. If anyway they are going to watch it then it’s best to have cartoons that are knowledge based and teach something to them all the time. A cartoon series based on Bitcoin being the lead character is definitely breakthrough. We just need budget and bitcoin friendly director to get started.  Smiley

These days children should know about Bitcoin and blockchain. They should have an understanding of things but that does not mean that they should start earning bitcoin.

We need to differentiate between Learning and Earning. Many people think that learning about Bitcoin is actually how to earn Bitcoins, which is not right. Children should be given awareness about cryptocurrencies, but they should not be encouraged to start earning at the age which is for them to study.

AI, Robotics ETFs Are More Popular Than Crypto in 2023 - Bloomberg

ETFs tracking robotics and AI have pulled in roughly $105 million in March, while other thematic strategies like clean energy, electric cars and cloud computing all saw outflows, according to data compiled by Bloomberg Intelligence. ETF Investors Flock to Artificial Intelligence Robotics and AI-themed funds are beginning to pull in money
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-04-03/ai-and-robotics-etfs-are-more-popular-than-crypto-in-2023

Looks like investors looking for new technology trends are now focusing more on AI than in crypto currencies.

Although I do think both technologies can benefit each other mutually (like Fetch token and others), AI use cases looks much more wider to me.

Still looking for good ETF or funds to expose my portfolio to AI

You should expose 70 to 80% of your portfolio to Bitcoin BTC only.

Yes, there is a trend of AI these days but that does not mean that we should invest our coin in AI. Does ChatGPT have its coin? Does Google Bard have its coin? The simple answer is NO.

You should know that most project claiming to be AI based has nothing to do with AI and they are here only to collect your money. So, you can go with the trend but keep in mind that the king is only Bitcoin.
913  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Casinos Go Bankrupt Because of Player Wins? on: July 25, 2023, 01:10:24 PM
Though I'm not entirely sure, I don't think that's how things work around there, casinos that are successful and have gained some name and fame have enough funds to both cover the security expenses and to pay their players, and they have their business models designed in a way that a player cannot technically win more than they can afford to pay them, and the maximum that they pay a player for the biggest win is not even close to 10% of their bankroll.

So the idea that a casino might go bankrupt only because a player wins big is not true unless it is a casino that has been started with a small bankroll with no proper business plans and everything, such a casino might go bankrupt if they allow their players to hit big jackpots and then not be able to pay up.
It will only happen to casinos that did not have large funds when launching their casino, and it will only be a short time before the casino can get their income. Before the casino was launched, the owner must have thought about everything carefully, including how much money they had to provide to cover all the costs that would appear in the following month, including if a lucky gambler won a lot of money. And if the casino is really serious about what it does, it's sure to pay out the gambler's winnings in no time. So it is unlikely that the casino will go bankrupt because the number of gamblers who can win a lot of money will also not be many, and on average many gamblers will lose their money in gambling.

Even the new casino should be carefully setup the business and they should have enough funds to cover the wins of the gamblers. They should take this into consideration and put certain money aside before starting a new casino. If they do not do this calculation then there is no use spending money and opening a casino.

If they go bankrupt because of this reason, this will just end their business, and if they delay or halt the withdrawals because of low funds, that will put a bad impression on the gamblers, and it will again put a dent in the success of the casino.
914  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to $120k next year - by Robert Kiyosaki on: July 24, 2023, 11:50:59 PM
Some of them are just guessing without analyzing, but some of us do it supported by analysis. Of course both are just a possibility, but you can have more faith in the second prediction where they do the analysis before predicting the value. When someone only guesses numbers when predicting, it's just something that can't be justified analytically so it's good to say it's nonsense.

However, none of these predictions should be taken as financial advice, so be careful and always consider it at your own risk.
And if we are honest about this we will find out the majority of the predictions out there have no basis whatsoever except the experience of the person making the prediction and nothing else, so just because this is a famous person when it comes to the financial books he publishes  for the average person this does not make him an authority when it comes to predicting the price of bitcoin, the demise of fiat currencies or anything in particular, also it is not as if this person losses anything if he is wrong so he can say whatever he wants.

This has been the dilemma that famous people and personalities give insane Bitcoin price predictions which usually do not come true but they may create a lot of hype and the person who gives such prediction gets a lot of praise from the Bitcoin community. People want the bitcoin price to reach new highs and such predictions are being liked by the people who are holding and accumulating bitcoin.

However, we often see that these predictions may not come true in the time frame stated by Robert Kiyosaki or anyone else but no doubt one day bitcoin will reach $120K and beyond.
915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: July 24, 2023, 01:16:20 PM
India is batting on the second day of West Indies vs India, 2nd Test match. India batted first and scored 438 runs, and West Indies scored 255 runs after losing their entire first innings. While India had taken a huge lead, the West Indies lost an entire wicket before reaching that target and trailed by 183 runs. But India are batting in 2nd innings today they have done great performance they have lost one wicket at the moment. But currently India's batsman Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal are two skilled players at the crease and their pair is excellent. Yashasvi Jaiswal is definitely likely to score a century today if he can put up a great batting performance in the game. At the moment, India has given a lead of 281 runs and if the game reaches the end, it will give a double lead of more runs today.

The way West Indies started their innings, everyone expected the team to score at least 350 runs. But West Indies lost all wickets and collected only 255 runs. It was unexpected. The team played very badly in the first match. In the second match, the performance of their top order was slightly better, but the team managed to score only 255 runs.

On the other hand, India started their second innings well. But after losing the first wicket for 98 runs, they lost the second wicket to collect just 4 runs. Jaiswal scored 38 runs and Rohit Sharma returned to the fold with 57 runs off 44 balls. We don't know why Rohit Sharma has batted like this in T20 matches. The team expects a more responsible performance from an experienced batsman like Rohit.

Finally, the West Indies team 298 more runs on the final day to win this test match against Indian team. They still have 8 wickets in hand. Considering their previous batting performance, even if they survive the whole day against the strong Indian bowling attack, it will be hard rather impossible for them to chase down this score. West Indies need a miracle in this match and also India needs to bowl badly for any chance for the WI to win.

I think we can place the bet on the Indian win today and I hope that they (the Indian team) will not disappoint us tomorrow. Smiley
916  Economy / Gambling discussion / Irresponsible behavior at the Las Vegas Casino on: July 23, 2023, 06:46:46 PM
A man run naked in a Las Vegas casino (Linq Casino) and jumped on the poker table and started to dance. He was arrested instantly by the security, however his family says that he was drunk and therefore he did such type of act.

More details can be read here Naked Gyrating Guy Arrested at Harrah’s Las Vegas Was Drugged, Family Claims

The point here is why gamblers do such shameless acts and what the rules of the casino suggest the penality for these acts. Do you think the gambler did it purposefully perhaps to become popular in the headlines  Huh
917  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: scammers using Exodus wallet fake email on: July 23, 2023, 06:12:19 PM
If you receive the same email don't click or you'll be diverted to a scam site. You'll be threatened with funds being seized if you don't deliver your Exodus Wallet private key. They're scaring people with lies so if you've received it delete it. Don't worry nothing will happen as long as you don't click.

It would be nice if you can tell us from which address this email came from.

I don't even understand why would a "wallet" collect users emails or names. Luckily I never used this exudes wallet. I relay the most on trustwallet.

The email and the case OP presented have nothing to do with the Exodus wallet and it doesn't make the Exodus wallet untrustworthy.
A similar type of scam used to happen in Binance P2P where the scammer send the paying details through an email that isn't from the Binance and ask them to release the funds before the transaction actually happen. (this does not make Binance untrustworthy too).
918  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a gambler do you have a potential winning amount limit? on: July 23, 2023, 05:57:20 PM
My main focus on this thread is in this question: as a gambler do you place your bet according to the weight of your financial need or you're always okay with whatever amount that comes out as potential win no matter how small amount?

Before placing a bet, we should do all the math as how much amount we will lose if the bet goes against our plan and how much we gain in case of a win. I would never risk my money on bets with very low amounts as my risk reward ratio will be disturbed.

In gambling, you need to make sure you get enough rewards that make you satisfied because you are risking your money in the gamble or bet. People with no plan or no money management sense will bet blindly and may not be profitable in the long run (although they may get some wins in the short term as they never calculate the risk reward ratio and jump in every game)
919  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: After given a 2nd chance, Sweetlou remains the scammer he was in the beginning. on: July 23, 2023, 03:53:35 PM
Correct, we had a deal.

We even came to a new deal, a third chance a week ago, I would get 100% of the comission and possible leaderboard payouts would be split. I also think it's a bad attitude to blame victims. Doesn't matter how naive someone is, as a human being you should never scam that person.
With the new commission he aint paying, the total debt sweetlou has is already 4k.

Look like this deal was done outside the bitcointalk but since the scammer has a profile on bitcointalk and he is already accused of asking for a loan without collateral, it's good that you tell about this here for other people to remain vigilant. Once if a person tries to scam you, he will again scam and therefore he should not be trusted.
That is why we say that it takes time to develop trust but once trust is broken, it is very hard to again trust that person.
920  Other / Meta / Re: How Can We Identify Someone Who Uses AI? on: July 23, 2023, 01:23:42 PM
There are some AI detecting tools which can identify the AI created texts by identifying the patterns since AIs use specific templates for most of their outputs but still it is not possible to say whether it is 100% created by human or AI tools. But if someone is blatantly doing it can be identified just by their contents are more generic and doesn't include any personal touch would be good indicator.

Those tools are actually not reliable as they have failed so many times. We are yet to have an accurate AI text dictating tool. But apart from using tools, I identify AI posts especially when posted by a newbie whose writing pattern I have not studied. When the grammar is so correct and meaningful, yet coming from a newbie without merits, it's always a red flag.

Op, instead of trying to dictate AI written texts, just avoid using it yourself and others will as well avoid it and we will have a better forum with human understanding.
Perfect grammar can't act as a evidence to say that someone is using AI because before this CgatGPT and all others there are many newbies came to the forum with vast knowledge about cryptos as well as with good communication which depends on their communication skills not related to knowledge.

But the wall of texts with more generic opinions can be a red flag in my opinion.
Perfect grammar may be a sign of AI usage if the said user has a history of poor English knowledge in their previous posts. Otherwise, in general, grammar isn't an accurate way to suspect AI usage; I'm also quite proficient in the English language and also use extensions such as Grammarly to correct any mistakes I make. The truth is that you cannot suspect every single newbie that creates constructive content, but the truth is that after the introduction of AI platforms, there has been an increase in suspiciously constructive threads, which may raise red flags if it's a common occurrence.

Some people may take help from Grammarly to correct their grammar, and others who are proficient in English may never make a grammatical mistake, hence I don't think grammar perfection should lead to the conclusion of AI posts.

If a person is constantly using the AI, one can see his overall posts and get the idea that the posts lack the human touch and then we may further make use of sites that detect the AI for further confluence. On the other hand, if a person uses AI in a few of his posts or in parts of his posts, then it may be difficult to detect the AI posts.
