901  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is cryptocurrency a financial pyramid on: June 04, 2023, 06:29:43 AM
I came across a news on Quora and I went into a very deep reason on the reality  of life and judge from the article on the post, I couldn't agree less with the author/writer because at the long run, it seems money is just circulating and the moment  money seizes circulation, even the price of bitcoin  is affected, hence the price of bitcoin  would increase if demand increases and demand can only increase when there is more money to spend.

So I had to bring this to the forum to know if you guys also think, cryptocurrency is some ways a financial pyramid.
Let's discuss please

All financial pyramids collapse sooner or later. Bitcoin is here since 2009 and it won't be collapsing anytime soon.
There are other scarce resources and assets with limited supply and unstable demand. Does that mean that they are a financial pyramid as well? According to this dumb logic, gold and diamonds can also be considered a financial pyramid. Grin
There are differences between a financial pyramid(ponzi scheme) and a pump&dump shitcoin scam. Those differences have been mentioned multiple times on the forum years ago. Just search for the old forum threads about this topic.

Anyway, NFTs on Ethereum got soo much liquidity last bull market, I'm definitely expecting lots of that (and new) liquidity going to Bitcoin NFTs and am watching projects very carefully.

So basically you are expecting another "Pump and Dump" NFT wave.
The people, who were pumping and dumping shitcoins and shittokens years ago moved into pumping and dumping NFTs.
The NFTs markets on the Ethereum blockchain lost their hype and you think that the BTC Ordinals will bring a new wave of "pump and dump" hype? Really? Nobody buys NFTs because they like the art of because the NFT has some kind of utility. The "pump & dumpers" buy NTFs in order to sell them at a bigger price. This is definitely a "tulip mania"/price bubble/"pump & dump" scam to me.
What makes the Bitcoin NFTs(Ordinals) better than the Ethereum NFTs? The obvious answer is only one. NOTHING!

903  Economy / Gambling / Re: THNDR Play Games to Earn Bitcoin on: June 02, 2023, 06:25:59 AM
I think that this topic doesn't belong to the Gambling forum, because it's about gaming, not gambling.
The players don't place bets on the platform you mentioned, they just play the games and earn really tiny awards.
The earning potential is so tiny that the players are basically wasting their time. Playing some boring games for hours only for the sake of getting the equivalent of 200 satoshi is a waste of time.
There's another crypto gaming platform called Rollercoin. You could play games there, earn a tiny amount and reinvest into "mining equipment". The website seems to be legit(according to some online reviews), but there are way better ways to earn money online.
904  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using ToS against users normal? on: June 01, 2023, 11:03:41 AM
Changing of terms and conditions without notifying the users or gamblers is normal with online gambling websites? Then when you did something wrong or about to withdraw your money they will tell you that you don't read their terms and conditions, and you start arguing with them until you decide to read the ToS again and you find out that it's different.

Some gambling websites consist of wicked owners that willingly plan to defraud their users using the ToS against them, or is this normal? Have such happened to anyone on this forum before?

Every online service(including online casinos) must be required by the law to notify their customers when there are changes in the Terms of Service. The customers must agree to the changes of the ToS, if they don't, they are free to leave that particular platform and close their accounts. I agree that some shady online casinos are using their ToS as an excuse to scam their gamblers. This is terrible, but we can't find a way to stop those casinos from doing such things. Maybe the only way would be to spread awareness about which casinos act shady and against which casinos the gamblers have the most negative reviews. Perhaps decentralized gambling might become the new norm after several years and the gamblers would just gamble by using their own cold wallets, instead of sending coins to a centralized entity.

Now china is now taking the biggest approach to embracing web3 and support some crypto projects, since china has banned Bitcoin over 6 times in the past do you think this is another fake move?

Can you mention a few web3 and crypto projects, that were "supported by China"?
China doesn't support anything(by China I mean the Chinese government), maybe some private companies and investors are supporting crypto projects in Hong Kong, but that doesn't mean that the Chinese government supports them. I know that Hong Kong is under the rule of China, but that doesn't mean that Hong Kong doesn't have some sort of autonomy. The basic idea of the Chinese policy is to have certain areas where the government regulations are more liberal(like Hong Kong in the fintech sector and Macao for gambling). I don't know why it is like that. The Chinese communists doesn't always act in a logical manner. Grin
906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's Wrong with Roger Ver? ::) on: June 01, 2023, 05:15:16 AM
Roger Ver helped in the early days of Bitcoin adoption, but later on, he believed that scaling is the biggest problem of Bitcoin and tried to create his own version of Bitcoin, that would solve the scaling issue(and failed miserably). He's more like an opportunist rather than a believer.
Like many forum members have already stated, Ver is more like a businessman and investor, rather than a Bitcoin developer.
I highly doubt that Vitalik Buterin would pay Roger Ver for vouching crypto projects. Ver has little to no authority in the crypto world, after he lost the scaling war in 2017. Maybe the small sect of fanatic Bitcoin Cash supporters would still trust Ver, but I'm not sure how many people still support BCH. Grin

At a time when most countries are devastated by the war, some countries take advantage of the opportunity to acquire huge wealth. But if the poor countries go to buy something, they are harassed and banned in various restrictions. Don't you think this policy is cruel to poor countries?

Most countries being devastated by a war? What war? Did World War III just start? Are you talking about the war in Ukraine?
How the hell could the war in Ukraine devastate most of the countries in the world? I don't think that most of the countries in the world seem "devastated" right now. The global inflation is caused by FED and the big central banks around the world, not by the war in Ukraine.
The poor countries can't buy lots of things, because they don't have enough money, not because they are harassed or banned.
UAE has lots of money, so they can buy whatever they want from whoever they want.
Some authoritarian regimes get harassed and sanctioned by the US, but this is kinda understandable. The USA still wants to play the role of a "global policeman".
908  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which New Technology will be adopted by the Gambling Industry? on: May 31, 2023, 06:03:49 AM
The gambling industry can implement both VR and AI, if there's a clear benefit from both technologies.
I doubt that VR adds anything new or exciting to the gambling experience. Creating a fake virtual casino environment won't stimulate the gamblers to spend more money. I'm not sure how AI would help for fighting fraud, since the online gambling industry already has enough anti-fraud protection measures in their arsenal. Perhaps the gamblers could use AI to improve their performance, and the online casino owners won't be very happy, if such thing happens.
909  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The time has come to earn Bitcoin from a Youtube channel on: May 31, 2023, 05:33:40 AM
The crypto niche on Youtube seems relatively small. Most crypto related Youtube channels have several thousand views per video, which is small amount by the Youtube standards and I guess that they cannot be properly monetized. I wouldn't feel comfortable begging crypto enthusiasts for crypto donations, but you can do this, if you want to.
I don't think that a 81 year old man would attract a big audience on Youtube(or social media in general). Nowadays, everything on social media is about young hot girls. It's way easier for a young and hot girl to grow a following on social media.
You could do whatever you want, but I think that starting a Youtube channel in 2023 seems more like a waste of time and effort.
910  Economy / Economics / Re: Dedollarization is here, like it or not on: May 30, 2023, 10:10:47 AM
This is yet another forum thread about dedollarization(which doesn't add anything new to the discussion). Grin
OK, dedollarization might happen. And so what? The world will be facing another recession or depression(which is part of the cyclic nature of capitalism). Putin's propaganda keeps repeating the same "dedollarization" theory over and over again. I don't mind. I don't give a shit about the US dollar. The global dominance of the USA is heading towards a decline and this is a normal process.
I think that it will be surprisingly easy for many countries around the world to dump the US dollar and the US dominated financial infrastructure.
Weaponizing the US dollar and the financial infrastructure was a big mistake by the Biden administration, but I couldn't care less about the "libtards" in the USA.
911  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: coinzino.io closes accounts and takes money from players for no reason on: May 30, 2023, 06:26:18 AM
This case checks all the necessary criteria for the typical "new casino scams a gambler" horror story.
1.The casino is small and relatively new(I have never heard about coinzino.io before).
2.The gambler deposits a relatively big amount of money(3000 USD is a big amount).
3.The casino finds a BS excuse to blame the gambler for fraud and legally steal his money(or customer support is simply lying).
The question here is, why do gamblers keep depositing big amount of money to relatively new and untrusted online casinos? Is it because of the big bonuses or is it something else? OP, can't you just deposit 10USD and play for fun? What's the point of depositing big amounts of money? Greed? Gambling addiction?

912  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OCC recommend banks to offer private key vaults to customers on: May 30, 2023, 05:53:45 AM
Quote
If the bank adopts such a business technique of impacting the cryptocurrency space, it could help the market, but it's not advisable for banks to hold their customer's private keys; the security can be guaranteed since they save different assets for people too. If a hacker gets to their database, unless they save it in a paper, it'll be disastrous. Hence, I see positive reactions to the idea, many banking customers getting into crypto is a good wave, entering the market on the wrong side is a disadvantage to them.

The guy, who proposed this BS idea(banks holding private keys) clearly doesn't understand the concept of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general. The big problem here aren't even the hackers. The bank could just enter the crypto wallets of it's customers and steal their crypto.
It's like inviting a burglar into your house and giving him the key to your safe deposit box. It doesn't make any sense.
And no, this idea won't speed up crypto adoption, because the possibility of getting scammed will scare away many people.
The people aren't dumb.
913  Economy / Economics / Re: Will chatgpt really destroy the job market? on: May 29, 2023, 10:19:02 AM
What do you mean by "the job market"? Certain professions are going to be replaced by AI, while others won't be impacted at all.
All the ghost writers, copywriters, article writers might be having a hard time competing with AI tools like Chatgpt.
The same thing applies to all web designers, photographers and artists. They can't compete with Midjourney and other image generating AI tools.
On the other hand, Chatgpt can't mow your lawn, clean your house or repair your car. Maybe in the future, the robots will become so advanced that they will do physical labor, but this will happen probably after several decades(if the human civilization survives World War III).
914  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crazy Sports Betting Idea on: May 29, 2023, 05:54:19 AM
Quote
I know it sounds crazy but that's what has been on my mind. Do you think it is feasible? Do you think sports bookies will incorporate this type of betting?

Why do you think it's crazy? This idea doesn't seem crazy at all. Since the events cannot be easily predicted by the bettors, there's no problem for the bookies to include such betting options in their platforms. I'm thinking about different ways to manipulate such betting options. What if the owner of a football team secretly places bets on sacking the manager of his football team? Wouldn't this be unfair? Maybe this is the main reason why the bookies won't implement such bets. The outcome of such events can be decided by a small amount of people, which makes those events easy to get manipulated.
915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the disagreement between the Government, Bank and Bitcoin? on: May 29, 2023, 05:14:02 AM
Don't compare Bitcoin to electricity and internet. They cannot be compared, since Bitcoin(the blockchain) is built by using electricity and internet. You can't mine Bitcoins without electricity and you can't use Bitcoin without the internet.
The governments are against BTC (not all of them) because they view it as an enemy to the fiat financial system(and the upcoming CBDCs).
This perspective isn't true, because we can see that Bitcoin/crypto isn't destroying the current fiat system, both fiat and crypto can exist without any problems, so this "crypto vs. fiat" antagonism is kinda fake(even though all crypto fans like it).
Maybe sooner or later all governments and banks will reach to the conclusion that this "crypto vs fiat" collision is fake.

916  Economy / Economics / Re: Logic of life on: May 28, 2023, 10:54:41 AM
The logic of life is that you can't earn more than you know,
Any amount you are earning today is 80% as a limit of what you know.

The richest man on earth is earning whatever amount he is earning due to the advantage of  what he knows or  can do.

So, before you can move from earning $100 dollar monthly to $1000 per month,
One of the major thing you must scale up is your knowledge.

So ask yourself, what should I know that can make me ×2 my monthly income?

Seek knowledge always.

Tell this to a mobster/criminal, who is earning millions from crimes. I'm sure that the gangsters are very smart. Grin
The richest people on earth don't care about "earning money". They own growing companies and different kinds of financial assets, which bring them dividends. Thinking about how much you get paid for your labor and knowledge is a poor person's mentality.
I know about many rich people, who aren't very intelligent, but they have obtained(or inherited) lucrative assets. Just look at Donald Trump. Do you think that Trump is a genius? Hell no. He inherited his real estate business from his father Fred Trump.
I've also seen many smart and well educated people, who are poor and failing in life.
917  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: May 28, 2023, 06:28:41 AM
Have you heard of Superpicks on DSTV? where you can make predictions and win money without staking your money?

if you have not, check it out. Superpicks.com

My question is can it still be called gambling if it is not played with money?

I've never heard about this website. Are you promoting it? Grin I don't want to visit suspicious links.
No, of course that it doesn't qualify as gambling. Google Play and the Apple Appstore are full with "pay-to-win" mobile games, where you have to buy in-game items in order to win the game. does this qualify as gambling? Your example is a bit different, but this isn't gambling, since the players don't bet their own money. I wonder what is the business model of this superpicks.com website? How the website owners are making enough money to pay the winners and accumulate enough profits to keep the business running?
918  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: as a result of participating in bitcoin contests, I have a unique story. on: May 28, 2023, 06:01:01 AM
I don't know if this is a true or a fake story, and I don't care.
The real questions here is only one. What the hell is this abomination on the two pictures above? Grin Is this really a pizza?
If this is pizza, I'm Brad Pitt. Do you even know how to make real pizza?
Anyway, I really hope that your friend(if he is real person) will become a true Bitcoiner and he won't sell everything when the price crashes again.
And after that, he won't act but-hurt, talking about how Bitcoin/crypto is a scam and he lost all his investments, because of {insert BS explanation here}.... Many newbies do such things(unfortunately).
Happy Bitcoin pizza day.
919  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers understood the game on: May 26, 2023, 10:21:07 AM
How many times have you successfully invited some gamblers to online casino? What is your experience doing so? I know many will find this hard to believe but I kinda prefer bringing in gamblers than investors into crypto, why? They understood the risk already, there is no talk and talk over again, there is no dealing with someone fear and confidence..

I have successfully brought in four people into crypto gambling, and it was the easiest thing ever, they came asking if it's possible to use crypto for gambling and I said yes, but I told them that I am not ready to introduce any platform for anyone, but these guys then showed me there past gambles on a local website that only accept Fiat, that's when I got soft with them and I showed them the websites I use for gambling.

The thing is, they are small time winners and big time losers, I mean they lose more than winning, it's been two weeks and two of them tell me about their loss and gains, but they make it feel normal, to them it really is, not like the crypto investors today, always in hurry to double their money, some are even scared of investing in Bitcoin, which is the safest of them all.

Have you used affiliate or referral links in order to get a commission for inviting those four people into crypto casinos?
You probably missed the opportunity to earn some commissions, since the people you invited are active gamblers. Most crypto casino affiliate programs offer up to 40% commissions. Anyway, it's easy for a gambler to switch from a fiat online casino to a crypto casino. The gambling games are almost the same, the website design is not so different.
I agree that inviting gamblers is easier than giving financial advise and trying to convince some people to invest in a company or cryptocurrency. I would never try to convince people to invest their savings, because I don't want to be blamed, if something bad happens.

“Decentralization”, “security” and “scarcity” cannot help members to get resources back.

Those are the three pillars, that have turned Bitcoin into a store of value and a medium of exchange.
I see that you are another one of the BTC haters, who keep saying "Bitcoin sucks, because you can't buy bread and meat at the grocery store with BTC!". If you wanted to say that, just write it down. There's no point of writing big walls of text, in order to say something simple.
You are not very original, many BTC haters have had the same thesis in the past. And guess what. I don't care that I can't buy bread and meat at the grocery store by using BTC. We have fiat money, let's use them to buy bread and meat, before they lose their value and become even more worthless. BTC should be kept and hoarded, in order to preserve our wealth from long term inflation or from the governments, that want to confiscate it.
