So that's it, my fearless forecast of having a Governor's cup finals between Ginebra and TNT has finally come true. The only thing that I'm not expecting in the semis is the sweep of SMB Beermen against Ginebra as I thought that would be a tight series which I think Ginebra would still emerge as the victor in 5 games but that doesn't happen.
For me, this is a 50-50 finals that seldom happens in the PBA so for those who want to back either Ginebra or TNT, post your bet here as someone might take it. Personally, i have not decided yet on where to put my money but anyone here wants to bet maybe i could take that one, just a little money for the fun of course.

Just love what the Haney's are saying on Loma though, there is respect, but we all know that when this two steps in the ring, then it's going to be war. I expect a clean fight, and their style are contrasting, Haney though still a huge favorite, Loma almost 3:1 underdog. In contrast against Davis vs Garcia, this could be the biggest fight though, in terms of the belt on the line and the legacy that either boxer is going to make, whoever wins. And it's funny though that Bill Haney is saying that the Davis vs Garcia fight is comparable to a exhibition match, hehehehe. For Haney this is a validation for him to be the undisputed, beating Loma and cementing his legacy. And if Loma wins, he will fulfill his dream to have all the belts, even comparing it to a Gold medal chase in the Olympics. Glad that finally, everything that we speculated has come to fruition. All has been finalized in the contract and both agreed to the terms which we don't know as last time i've heard that Haney wants more money to agree to this fight but i think its all been settled now as they were already announcing it to the public. Yup, Haney could get the respect of the boxing community if he beats Loma fair and square while for me, even if Loma loses this one he still deserves to be in the Hall of Fame hehe. Fighter like him seldom comes in our generation so he deserves that recognition as the way he entertains the boxing community with his boxing style is exemplary. |

It's been confirmed already that this fight is going to be held in the Philippines, Okada is the venue. Not sure though how much is the tickets, but for sure, Casimero fans love to see in happening in his home soil.
Nonito Donaire will have a good chance to become a world champion again, so that is already a plus for Philippines.
Although it will be better to have another one in the likes of Casimero but it might take a while before he can get his chance.
Though this will not be the first time that Casimero will be fighting in his home country but every time he does, he brings the excitement that a regular Filipino boxing fans wanted. Have seen him in flesh against Sultan and though he lost that fight but i could say that it was indeed an exciting one. Casimero is one of the best boxers we have right one in the PH, he recently received an award for being the "Boxer of the Year" so yeah, the chance of being a world champion once again is very likely so for us his fans if we have the opportunity to watch him in flesh then we do as this is one way of supporting him. |

It appears that the odds for a Ginebra ML win are a trap, as they are struggling to find their rhythm and are not hitting their shots. While SMB is not leading by a huge margin, I predict that this series will be 2-1 after this game. However, I don't believe there will be a Game 5. If SMB wins here, then it's likely that Ginebra will finish the series in four games.
There's a reason for the celebration today as Ginebra managed to complete a sweep against SMB with a massive comeback win. The team's never-say-die attitude was evident in this game, and there will be no tomorrow for SMB. Ginebra can now rest early, thanks to the excellent comeback win they just achieved. Congratulations to the bettors who had faith in Ginebra and did not listened into the trap thing as the result confirmed that it's not. They have made it to the finals once again, and there will be no sister team this time as Ginebra has swept SMB. Coach Gallent must have realized that they cannot be a championship team without JMF, and the organization must have learned that letting go of Arwind Santos and Cabagnot was not a wise decision. In fact, SMB began to struggle after these two starters were traded. The match-up between TNT and SMB is expected to be exciting, but for that to happen, TNT must win Game 2 to avoid a do-or-die situation. Gallent needs to work more in how to mixed players chemistries. They've got a huge lead but they did not manage to use the clock and maintain the tempo, not sure what happen but it was almost a win for SMB if they just limit their turnovers, not a fan of running attack and not moving the ball well, unlike with Gin kings the rotations really allow almost all players to hold the ball before attacking. With SMB, 2-3 pass and after that they will attack or turnover passing the ball will be expected! Congrats Ginebra fans especially to those who bet during live game after the first half x6 if I remember it right. Yeah, Gallent is a rookie coach, i mean as a head coach in the PBA so things like this is expected plus his favorite player is out so he could do nothing about the situation. But we also give credit to Ginebra especially coach Tim with his never say die approach and most of all, ended the series right away without giving away a game that might lead to suspicion to the fans that it was a gimme. I wonder if there was someone here who took that ML odds for Ginebra before the game or when they are down by double digit in the first half. |

Agree ako dito. There is a huge difference between participating in a campaign na sa simula pa lang ay shady na at may mga issues regarding sa scam or anything like that. Sa case ng Chipmixer, kung mapatunayan man na totoo yung binebentant ng FBI sa kanila ay wala paring violations ang mga participants ng campaign kasi maayos naman ang service ng Chipmixer prior sa issue na to. Ang lungkot lang isipin na isa nanamang malaking crypto related company ang na shut down. Marami namang katulad nito ang nangyayari at wala pa namang na-prosecute kaya hindi dapat mag-alala yong mga campaign participants ng Chipmixers. Ang inaabangan ko talaga rito at kung saan mapupunta yong mga bigating signature-weares nila dati dahil for sure inaabangan yan ng mga campaign managers dahil malaking plus pag sila ay sumali sa campaign na dinadala ng isang campaign manager. |

However, I believe that if he can secure a victory in this fight, it could lead to significant opportunities for him in the future. While I do not underestimate his opponent, he is a relatively unknown boxer.
Most of us here are likely in favor of Casimero winning the fight and getting a chance to face Inoue. It doesn't seem to be generating much hype in the boxing community, but we'll see if Casimero's power can be effective against a KO puncher like Nghitumbwa. Casimero has a wide advantage experience-wise so that will be the reason why he will be the huge favorite going into this fight plus he will be fighting in the Philippines so that alone is a huge hurdle for Nghitumbwa. Though on paper, the African fighter is a KO artist but those boxers he KOed were unknown while Casimero has fought names that were talked about in the boxing community like Rigo and Tete. Has anyone seen the available betting odds for this fight yet?

I don't trust SMB anymore. They seemed to be so frustrated in Game 2 that they wanted to hurt their opponents, especially the SMB import who was getting locked down by Brownlee. Sportsmanship was lost. SMB as a team has struggled big time. Their plays are so predictable by the Gin Kings, so most likely the same will be witnessed in Game 3.
I totally agree, SMB has not adjusted well since they lose Fajardo to injury. I know that they will lose this series but not by blowout, it seems that they are the lower seed than Ginebra seeing how they played. The only bright spot here for SMB is that they have not been swept yet in a best-of-five series, per the article that I have read so if you will bet for SMB now, there's a chance for us to win but personally, I'm not going to bite that trivia, I mean I will not bet for them tonight. Just announced a few hours ago that Johnriel Casimero will be fighting against an unknown opponent (at least to many) and his name is Fillipus Nghitumbwa. Per below boxing record, his resume is not impressive so i think this will be a walk in the park for Quadro Alas. This fight may not be so exciting to some users here but for us coming from the PH, Quadro Alas fighting in his country is a big thing as we seldom see him fight in the PH when he become a world champion. Nghitumbwa for his part has not fought on foreign land and he got not much experience with only 13 fights but still hoping that he could give Casimero a competitive fight. What do you guys think of this fight?  |

It's a great start for Meralco so far. Their offense is clicking, and it's a high-scoring game. This is different from Game 1 where TNT fully dominated the game. This time, Meralco is also running and has improved their offense so far. They have no more hesitation on their end, and they seem to be in the right chemistry. Let's see if they'll be able to even the series.
End of the first half and Meralco is leading by 10 points, 59-49. Yeah, great game so far by the Bolts especially McDaniels who now has registered 18 big points and 12 rebounds but don't know if they can sustain this run so i'm taking the ML odds now TNT @2.25. edit: lost my bet here as Meralco defeated the Katropa via overtime with a score of 122-117. Those missed free throws by TNT haunted them, they could have beaten the Bolts by a margin of 3 or 4 but nevertheless, the win here of Meralco make this series an entertaining one. |

Just as i speculated, David Benavidez won the fight via unanimous decision (115-113, 116-112, 117-111).
Lucky for Plant that David started the fight slow as he compiled points but at the end, he seemed lost all the stamina but still kudos to him that even though he absorbed all the power punches in championship rounds, he was still standing.

We cannot really blame them if that's what they wanted, after all, Inoue is a precious cash cow to Bob Arum and therefore he cannot really afford to see Inoue depreciate its value if in-case he is defeated. Anyway, there was once a supposed fight between the two of them but because of Covid-19, it wasn't pushed through. Now that they are both in the same division again, I hope their path will cross once again because people are already rooting for this to happen.
If only Casimero just did the right thing, then we should already see him clashing with Inoue. It's not being Inoue being a cash cow and they didn't avoid Casimero. It's just that Casimero is the reason why he become out of the discussion. I don't think Inoue is afraid of Casimero and even though I'm with Quadro Alas here, I didn't expect that he will have an easy win against Inoue. More importantly, Casimero should not just pick top boxers but just negotiate a deal even with those below rankings just to have an active fight. As long as he keeps and continues winning, he will gain his rank and later on, will be included in the contender's discussion. With all the things happening right now, i don't think Inoue is afraid of our "kababayan", in fact when they were still in the bantamweight, the Japanese Monster was calling out Casimero and the latter should have fought Inoue if not for their foolishness. It's just that Casimero had a high chance of winning against Inoue due to his speed and power if we compare to the other opponents of Inoue. That Butler unification fight was a gimme because he was not as talented as Casimero and if we look deeper, Inoue have not fought boxers who is equally dangerous to Casimero lately so if Casimero vs Inoue will puh through then this would be exciting. |

Another good fight, but it's really risky for Lopez to take this challenge, he's like beat the best boxer in light welterweight. However he reminds me when he take a challenge to fight with Lomachenko, where at that time Lomachenko is the best boxer in lightweight. The difference is Lopez was beat every boxers easily before fight with Lomachenko, this time he was struggling when he fought Sandor Martin, so I don't really expect Lopez will win this fight.
I agree with you mate, if we were to gauge Lopez on his last fight with Martin then this coming fight with Taylor would be a disaster for him, i mean he struggled against a not so popular Martin and i even scored the fight in favor of Martin (just my opinion) and with Taylor who is a unified champion and bigger than him, sure this will be a tough hill to climb for him. The only chink in the armor on the side of Tylor is his inactivity in the ring for more than a year now but i think hard training can offset that disadvantage. |
