961  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 17, 2023, 11:20:50 AM
Another win for SMB, as expected. ROS wasn't going to win because they played all Filipino players. They made the game a little interesting when they had a big 3rd quarter run, but the 4th quarter belonged to SMB, resulting in a big margin win, so they covered the spread, I guess.

Five players from SMB scored at least 20 points, including Lassiter with 20 points, Clark with 20 points, Perez with 20 points, Manuel with 23 points, and Tautuaa with 23 points.

The big men filled the scoring gap in the absence of JMF.

That was an expected win by the Beermen, all we want to know is how much the margin of the win and i think the Beermen cover the spread as i think it was -11.5 before the game started.

Anyways, they might still end up in the third place though if Ginebra Kings will win their game tonight against TNT Katropa which i think they will because they are now leading by double digit going into the fourth quarter.

962  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 16, 2023, 11:45:46 PM
Tomorrow, we will witness a very good matchup between TNT and the Gin Kings, and the odds so far are both at 1.90. I'm sure Ginebra bettors will put a lot of money due to the odds, but we cannot underestimate TNT because they are also playing very well. They have lots of shooters that could give the Gin Kings some trouble.

What are your thoughts? Personally, I am now tempted to bet on TNT. Why? Because it's not Sunday! LOL

This TNT vs Ginebra game is 50-50 for me but i'm leaning more to bet for the Kings since they have improved shooting from the outside with Gray and Malonzo in their roster.

The Kings now are not missing the services of Japeth Aguilar and LA Tenorio since the Bulldozer CStand is playing very well that makes them a team to beat at the moment.

Let's hope that this game will turned out to be good as we expected. Good luck to us all.
963  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 15, 2023, 09:45:07 PM
2nd game NLEX against SMB, these games might give some decent entertainment unlike the first game where TNT dominated the game after the 1st quarter and established huge deficit to secure the win.

I hope it's not the same as the first game. SMB is now leading by double digits after the 1st half. NLEX just needs to have a strong 3rd quarter and reduce the lead to single digits so we can have an exciting 4th quarter. NLEX is quite competitive, so I believe this team will bounce back for sure.

I was impressed by NLEX when they rally back and almost snatch this in the last 6 minutes of the game, that 3 point conversion from Alas was the closes they managed to cut the lead into 5 points but Enciso answer it back then Alas make a turnover and a quick two for Perez to make the lead back to double digits.

If NLEX manages to make a good stop, they might get the momentum to favor them, but that arrow from Enciso is really the sealing
shot to win this game.

Good win by SMB Beermen last night and our speculations that NLEX would beat them as Fajardo was not around didn't come true, lost my bet but no regret as NLEX fought back in the fourth quarter but the effort was not enough to snatch the win.

Clark had a monster game, pouring in 45 points which I think is the biggest factor why they have beaten the Road Warriors plus he got some big help from CJ Perez and Simon Enciso.

Friday would be exciting for them as they will be playing against ROS ElastoPainters and a win would land them in the top 2 of the standings so i think that would be exciting also to bet for them.
964  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: March 15, 2023, 09:33:24 PM

Milwaukee Bucks -1 at Oklahoma City Thunders -2

Celtics -5.5 @1.95 vs Wolves
965  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs John Ryder - May 6th in Mexico on: March 14, 2023, 09:54:16 PM
Not that surprising because we have already heard this man's name even before Canelo Alvarez underwent to a much needed surgery because his wrist has been in pain since the Canelo-GGG III fight. I'm just glad that this fight is now a done deal because people are waiting for Canelo's return as he have a lot of boxer now queued to fight him afterwards, Canelo may put his belt on the line on this one but let's not forget that this is just a tune-up fight.

Yeah, hehehe, we have been discussing his name on the other thread, it's just this makes it's official now that Canelo will have a 'tune-up' fight against Ryder. He needs to put his belt on the line here, and it's going to be a homecoming fight for Canelo in Mexico. For sure, the fans are still going to buy the tickets even if he is facing lesser known opposition.

Good payday for Ryder though, for the face-off, here is the video below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bw9y1vI6zuI

Fighting on "Cinco De Mayo" has been a tradition now for Canelo Alvarez and with him coming from hand surgery (which i'm not aware of), i think this is just the way to go, a tune-up fight for him in front of his hometown fans. I'm not expecting an upset here since we all know that Canelo is very serious in his training camp whoever it is that he will be facing.

I just hope that after this one, he will pursue his rematch with Bivol or a fight with Benavidez hehe.
966  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 14, 2023, 09:42:34 PM
In the next game, SMB is 1.27 and -8.5 spread.
I think I will take my chances on NLEX as they have been playing very well lately. If Fajardo is still unavailable, then it should be a nice matchup.

Same here because Fajardo won't be around playing for the Beermen for at least six weeks as the injury he sustained in the ESL cup was worse than expected. Don't know what's the basis of this 3.70 ML odds for NLEX but for me, this is very attractive since NLEX's import played better than the import of SMB, and for sure things won't be the same for SMB without Fajardo helping the import.
967  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: March 13, 2023, 09:40:21 PM
Yeah, but he has his "excuses", he had his shoulder injury that time.

And we didn't see a rematch with a healthy Loma because Lopez refuses to give him that. Maybe he was afraid or just like take that win regardless if Loma says he has to carry that right with injury.

So so this is the closest that Loma will get to the point of getting all the belts, but it's not going to be easy as he is fighting a prime Haney.

I think that's a legit excuse for that loss but Loma never complained about that injury before the fight, might also be the reason why Lopez was afraid of giving him the rematch as he doesn't dominate Loma even if the latter had that injury.

I think this fight will cement the legacy of Loma as one of the best in the lightweight division, if he could win this one then i think he could retire like he promised two years ago but if ever he will loss then that's the end of him, i mean he just not meant to be the king of this division, he can't carry his speed and power in this 135lb division to beat the champs who are bigger than him.
It was just too unfortunate for Lomachenko that time because he was at the height of his career, just one bad shoulder and that resulted to a failure in his campaign towards beating Teofimo Lopez. If only Bob Arum and Loma had a rematch clause, they could've redeem their loss and the belts as well because Lopez will be forced to accept a 2nd fight. Then maybe Loma will have a different situation right now.

Unfortunate turn of events indeed for Loma. If you gonna look back on how Haney got all these belts we can say that it's not so difficult, I mean his opposition was not so great. He only beats Kambosos then that's it, he is the unified champion which I think if only Loma directly fight Kambosos, Loma might be the unified champion if he was given the chance.

Bottom line, that rematch clause did some damage or can we say had a lot of say on why we are having this fight right now but maybe this is destiny for Loma, to get all the belts via betting a technical fighter same as him but bigger this time around.

Magic ML @2.2 vs Heat

Salamat kabayan, naka-tsamba ulit. Lamang sila pagkatapos ng first half pero limamya yong laro nila sa third quarter at lumamang pa yong Cavs ng double digits buti nalang at nakabawi yong Heat sa fourth quarter at na-cover pa yong spread.

Jazz +7.5 @1.90 vs Heat

969  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Tony Harrison vs Tim Tszyu - Mar 13, 2023 on: March 12, 2023, 01:26:21 PM
By the odds though, it seems that Tim Tszyu is going to win this fight. But I was surprised on how Tim was really in this fight, I mean yes early on it was a close fight but he slowly gain the momentum and even fight the fight of Harrison, in the inside and he was hit with that job but we have able to overcome it. So it's a A+ performance for him in front of his fans in his home turf. And with this, it's a good tune up fight for him. And the numbers don't like as he hit Harrison with 45% of his power punches, the score on the judges though at the time of stoppage in round 9, Tim leads all the judges 77-75. And he clearly sends his message to Charlo in this win.

Good tune-up fight indeed for Tim before facing Charlo. Have not seen the odds for this fight but i assumed that Tim was the favorite, seeing the fight highlight, it's a close one before Tim deliver those punishing bombs that finished Tony Harrison in the ninth round. The volume of punches was too much for Tony to handle, that's the factor and him taking that 45% of Tim's power punches that KO is inevitable.

I hope that promoters will now start negotiating for that Charlo vs Tszyu championship fight as it is what the fans wanted to see in the near future.
970  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 12, 2023, 12:49:42 PM
Well, the All-Star game just concluded minutes ago and Team Japeth won by just 4 points with a score or 140-136. I didn't watch the whole game, but looking the players defending their opponents is a sign that this All-Star is probably better than that of the NBA All-Star where they are just letting their opponents shot. Congrats Team Japeth.

Paul Lee had a great All-Star appearance! After winning the 3-point shooting contest, he also won the All-Star MVP award, scoring 32 points and grabbing 5 rebounds. Paul Lee is like fine wine - as he ages, he gets better - so I'm hoping that this trend will continue in the current PBA conference.

Also hoping here that this trend will continue but knowing Paul Lee is soo fragile and will get injured every now and then. If only Paul Lee idon't get injured frequently then i think Magnolia would be fighting for the championships often but it's just sad that every time Magnolia qualifies for the playoffs, Paul Lee suddenly disappears.

Speaking of injury, i have read reports/rumors that Ian Sangalang might retire from the PBA due to health issues. Anyone knows here what's the real situation of Sangalang as i have not seen him playing for some time now.

So, the May 20 date is final per the article i've read and this will be held in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Quote
BoxingScene.com has confirmed that their 12-round, 135-pound championship match will be held at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Their fight for Haney’s IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO lightweight titles will headline an ESPN Pay-Per-View show that night.

Magic ML @2.2 vs Heat

Pagod factor kaya sa Magic muna ako dito hehe pero risky bet to pero i think it's worth the try kasi homecourt naman ng Magic.

There is also a second face to face, and still both of them touches each other chin, no pushing or something of any physical thought, it's more of their mouth running on each other faces.

I don't like Oscar though saying that this could be bigger than Oscar vs Floyd that time and it could break their 2.4 PPV records.

What other thinks of the PPV numbers of this fight though? will it be close to 1M? I doubt that they can get to that numbers.

Same here, I doubt that they could reach the 1M mark knowing that both of them came from the same country, I mean their fan base is in the US unlike when one of the fighters has a fan base outside of the US then it's expected that PPV buys would be higher.

I don't if this is true but i've read that tickets for this fight are already sold out if they are telling the truth then probably this scenario could increase the PPV buys. Both of the protagonists of this fight are in their prime but which regards to experience and marketability, that's the aspect that they are lacking as of this time.

975  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 10, 2023, 09:43:28 PM
Here's the comparison of the two boxers, 40 years old vs 27 years old, huge age gap.

https://box.live/fights/donaire-vs-santiago/

Statistically wise, Donaire has all the advantages over Santiago.

Some of these are height advantage, reach advantage, better KO percentage, much faster, much quicker, having a strong punch, good at counter-attack, versatile, agile, better footwork, and what else, much good looking, just kidding.

Santiago should not be a problem for a 40-year-old Donaire since Moloney, the supposed original match is even considered much tougher than Santiago.

The records of Donaire is already a stand out as a bantamweight, and then those advantage that you also mentioned.

But we shouldn't be overconfident that Santiago is not going to be a problem for Nonito, in boxing all is needed is that one punch to change the tide of the game. So Donaire will still need to be very careful, so that as fans of him, we will be happy to see him winning another belt. Of course Moloney is much tougher but they don't want to pursue Nonito for many reasons and so chooses a very easy route to another belt in this weight class.

True, no such thing as an easy fight in boxing especially if you are fighting unpopular boxing because you are not so familiar with his style but the thing with Donaire, he has this experience advantage over Santiago which I think should offset with the Filipino Flash's age disadvantage so this makes the whole fight even.

Donaire is very serious now with his training as he knows that fights on this stage of his career is tough and he is very discipline so this gives him a slight advantage over Santiago.

Atlanta Hawks -3.5 , Clippers -3.5 at Cavaliers -2

Warriors -2.5 @1.90 vs Grizzlies

Since wala pang nag-post ng kanilang picks, ako muna ang bwena mano. Gandang laro din to na worth our money kasi every win counts para sa Warriors at saka pangalawang game na buhat na bumalik si Curry sa Warriors.

977  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 09, 2023, 09:29:30 PM
I hope Ryan Garcia is really that confident because if it turns out that he is not that ready, he will be heavily criticized by a lot of people for calling Tank Davis to fight him when in-fact he doesn't have what it takes. He needed to prove it and he needed this fight to bring himself in a much higher seed. Forget about the doubters, that is normal because Tank has been on the game first and already proved what he can do.

Ryan Garcia has been calling out everybody hehe, it's just that only Tank Davis has responded. This fight is an acid test for him and if ever he will be knocked out by Tank Davis then he is a fluke, i mean that he doesn't have what it takes to be in the league with the big boys in this division.

In the press conference yesterday, size advantage was very visible for Ryan in the face-off but he has to walk the talk and hope he could utilize his size to his advantage. Some people were saying that Ryan was visibly scared during their first press conference but i don't think so, i think Ryan was just nervous as this is his first time being on a stage with a legit champion for a very big event soon.

I don't know about you as I'm not about to stop gambling but with regards to the above question, i think the only solution to that if you are that serious in stopping gambling is to stop watching television or any stuff that has advertisements on gambling, you can ask someone to download some stuff from the internet for you so won't be able to see those ads.

Cavaliers -2

I guess I like DYIP to win in the first half.

I don't know what's the odds ML for the DYIP to win in the first half but i'm sure it's above 2.xx. Hope you have not bet for them as Ginebra was leading by four points after two quarters of play. This DYIP team haven't found a way yet to win close games, they also almost won against the Magnolia Hotshots on their last outing but unfortunately, their defense collapsed in the dying seconds of that game.

Next games will be after 6 days as we will see PBA going to another place for the All-Star. Anybody here that is living near the venue or at least will go and watch in person? Cheesy

Ahh, that's the reason why there's a six days gap of PBA games huh but i don't think that many fans are excited to see this non-sense All-Star game now.
