Great, thanks. So I am assuming wallet.dat is compatible across different versions. A related question: can I transfer my wallet.dat file to my Linux machine and have it work there, if I wanted to?

Sorry if someone already made this clear -

If I wait over 24 hours, will I not have any fees with future transactions?

I have about 10 received payments, from a mining group, and when I sent 0.05 out to someone it made me give a 0.01 fee.

Hi,

I'm pretty new to all this. Say I want to update to a newer version of the Bitcoin client. How do I do this safely? Will it overwrite my wallet?
