What are some reasons other than wanting bitcoins cheaper, to snuff a rally like this ?

Just curious

Profiting from a (big) short position on Bitcoinica.

So snuff it, temporarily ? while he closes the position ?

Whoa got cgminer working.. that was easy.. and there is a nice little text based menu..  I was under the assumption it was all command line.

I got one of my units on cg miner pointed at gpumax ..

I should've switched ages ago..  liking the all in one=esque cgminer.. Smiley   thanks for the tips

Will report tomorrow how all fares for the night.

I see the occasional Pool is not supplying work fast enough so far..

Since we're still in Beta, you may want to remember the extremely useful line

--failover-only

It'll save you from 'leaking' to your backup pools when the long-poll isn't responding as quickly.

Leaking ?

Can you elaborate while I goto the cg miner thread to look this up..

Wait got it, this was the stalling I saw, it looked wasteful

Thanks!

man, where have you been the last 8 months ? Cheesy
977  Other / Off-topic / Re: The "Rich" and "Poor" in a nutshell. on: February 20, 2012, 05:48:20 PM
i have a wide screen TV, and am poor, i paid roughly an 8th of its value because its second(third) hand and has issues, plus lacking a remote

why does a TV mean not poor?

i have a TV, a computer and a phone, and if i were to sell all of them i still couldn't afford to eat properly, whats your point?

(of course, if i had $65 a month rent, i would not complain, my rent is over 10 times that)

I wish I could prove to you that I truly know this guy, but won't--for the time being. I forgot to mention that all his utilities are also paid for by the government. The apartment complex he lives in is well kept even with the high percentage of A-M living there. He has a slight bipolar disorder and diabetes, but is able to work, of which he does, even augmenting his income by salvaging scrap metal. He is on the food stamp program and visits all the food banks around town weekly. He keeps a very clean apartment and owns no fancy toys. Most, if not all, of the furnishings were acquired at secondhand stores. So why is he always broke? Two clues, one of which I've already gave: Evansville, Indiana, and 21. Figured it out?

980  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: February 20, 2012, 02:07:15 PM
Every morning when I goto check on my GPUmax miners, on Guiminer, using pheonix.

They all say "Connecting..."  this has happened 3-4 days in a row..

One card will go out, then another, then eventually another.. they can go for a couple hours or so..

But the problem is they never recover to hashing..  Sad

I would love to put all my hashes on your site for a night but,
I cant afford to be mining nothing on your site.. Sad

Plus my house is cold today because that unit wasnt mining..  wheres my hot chocolate!

Do you have a backup pool setup? I would recommend you get off of guiminer and use cgminer.

I've been meaning to check out cg miner, how easy is it ?  I really hate command line interfaces, as everything takes twice as long, and I have little time to learn this..  ?

There is no gui for cg miner ? correct ?
