Review for Utopia

Day 1:
When I started reviewing the Utopia software application on desktop there were some issues going on with the CRP blockchain.
I know it’s not a good sign for a blockchain to halt but it happens sometimes with new projects.
I verified if everything was good at my end by visiting the network dashboard in the software and everything was fine at my end.
What got me worried was that the payment engine was stopped which makes sense since the blockchain was having some issues at the moment.

Day 2:
I tried their mining feature through UAM on a VPS and according to my calculation 1 bot requires a 4 CPU with 8 GB RAM running on debian and costs around $48.
The current block reward is around 0.002 CRP. It takes 15 minutes for 1 block to be mined which gives us around 5.76 CRP in 30 days.
Considering the current price of $0.5 UUSD per CRP we get around $2.88 UUSD which is very low.
So I think the block rewards are very low and it is not a good option to mine on a VPS. Still I will keep the bot running on the VPS for a month and see the rewards and edit this post later.

The software is good though and I didn’t find anything off. The interface is decent enough and I really liked the chat and uMail.
I tried faucet displayed on the official site but didn’t receive any tokens in my public address.
Also, I tried their swap feature but due to some technical issues the swap didn’t happen and an error was displayed.

Day 3:

Everything seems to be working fine now. The network dashboard is showing all green and I have also received the faucet earning.
The mining bot is also working as expected and has already started finding blocks.
The swap feature is also working fine and I guess it was just the temporary technical issue with the blockchain causing all the previous issues.
Overall I feel Utopia is a promising platform and one should definitely try it once if they are concerned about their privacy and like to stay off the grid.

962  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is more important for crypto users? on: July 10, 2023, 04:57:21 PM
Can you explain me why i need to learned gambling?

Simply put, here only millions of money are managed by asset owners, so where i have no money. In fact, i have ideas about gambling, but I don't have the ability to spend money there.

There are two things I would like to say you.

1. If you are asking this question means that you don't have enough knowledge about gambling.
It's actually good because trust me, you don't have to learn gambling. It's better to stay away and actually learn skills like trading and value investing.

2. Gambling is for those who already have a lot of money and don't care if they lose some of it.
It's not for those who already have less money because they will eventually lose whatever they have.

I wonder if the major populous will ever catch on to the central banking scammers. Or its Titanic all over again. This time for countries

Indian population is so big that if a handful of few like us understand what is the motive behind all of this new financial technology, it won't affect the government. The majority will still follow the government policy without even questioning the reason. We Indians do not have any issues with any government policy until the policy becomes a problem for us individually. The best example is the cryptocurrency tax which has resulted in so many issues this year. Before that none of us had any issues with the tax, even though they were never friendly for the middle class.

Also regarding this remember that time Vitalik donated billions to indian govt when they wanted to ban Crypto ?

I wonder if they payed 30% tax for that.

That was a big gesture from Vitalik at a time when the country was struggling with the COVID-19 virus. Remembering those days still gives me chills and by the way that money went was meant for relief work. The government never disclosed what it did with that amount and never even confessed that it was a great help from Vitalik publically.

Tax law was not applicable at that time.

Vitalik had donated around $1 billion worth of cryptocurrencies to the Covid 19 relief fund for India.
As per the reports the funds were utilized for medical supplies, oxygen cylinders and other things.

More details can be found here https://gizmodo.com/ethereum-founder-donated-1-billion-to-fight-covid-in-i-1847381361

P.S: Despite receiving such a huge donation Indian was thinking to ban cryptocurrencies instead of expressing gratitude.

P2P E-mail
Peer-to-peer decentralized email system.

I just came across this. You might want to check this as it has a decentralized email service in it's software.

965  Local / India / Re: what do you think about pi? on: July 09, 2023, 08:53:07 AM
@elevates technology is changing rapidly. There was a time when everyone thought mobile mining is a scam. This is the era of AI and in this era I disagree with your point that mobile mining would destroy the hardware of your mobile phone.

I still think that pi network is not a project worthy to invest your time. If this project is a success then you will be seeing a lot of new projects coming up with the same concept. As usual a lot free loaders will join them.

What does AI has to do with mining ?

I agree with @elevates with the point that mining on smartphone devices is not sustainable and will "definitely" destroy the smartphone at some point.
The first and foremost fact the proves this point is the battery drainage. Mining on smartphone will drain the battery quickly because of the continuous usage of processor.
Due to continuous usage the battery will consume more power and hence it will have to be charged frequently and repeated cycles of charging will make the battery dead after some point.

Then comes the load of the processor. Smartphones are capable to handle high load these days but I don't think they will be able to handle continuous high load for a longer period of time.
Unless you are building a mining rig out of smartphones I don't think mining on smartphone is a viable option.

But at least we all agree that pi network sounds like a classic scam to us. Even I had heard about it and it's true that there is demand for it in the Indian crypto market.
Few days ago one of my crypto friends was asking if someone is having the pi token because people were asking him to get those tokens.
966  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what is the best strategy Trading configuration on: July 09, 2023, 08:40:58 AM
1.I have a cornix bot mobile app /14 days trial/ interesting to subscribe to som plan ...what is the best strategy Trading configuration
2. cornix bot intermediate enough or need pro plan

.Thank you

Don't fall for the trap.

You asking for a strategy shows that you don't have enough knowledge when it comes to trading.
One should be really good at trading manually before he can give his money to bots for trading.
If you can't generate profits from trading by yourself then you will surely not generate profits by using a bot.
967  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My Trading Tools (120% APY) on: July 09, 2023, 08:33:34 AM
Coinmarketcap, Coin360 and Twitter are the most common platforms which most probably every crypto user would be using.
The rest 3 are the ones I am hearing about for the first time. I shall give it a look though.
I mostly use Tradingview for my analysis and strategies as I have hold of it.
It's great that OP has been able to achieve 120% APY for past 4 years. It's not something every can do expecially when the market was not so well.
968  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My personal savings now I will invest in Bitcoin on: July 09, 2023, 07:11:11 AM
I have been thinking about trading in Bitcoin for quite some time now. I have been involved with Bitcoin for a long time but am still thinking about investing here. I used to run DPS in bank for 30 dollars per month for 5 years, this DPS will complete 5 years this month. I'll get roughly $1800, I don't think it's much of a savings to keep that money in the bank. Bangladesh is suffering from severe dollar crisis due to which many banks are likely to go bankrupt. The names of those banks have not yet been published by any mass media. Because of the economic condition of Bangladesh, I want to invest my money in Bitcoin. I still don't understand if my decision is right, please let me know your opinion

Given your situation, I would be more likely to diversify my portfolio into bitcoin, fiat, gold and bonds.
Bitcoin might give better returns but depending on the availability in your country you may or may not be able to encash it at the right time.
Gold might give decent returns and you will be able to encash it since it can be easily sold at shops and so it will help you in case of any emergency.
You can hold some fiat cash with you so that you don't face any liquidity crisis and can plan things out accordingly.
You can hold bonds in case the banks go bankrupt then bond holders will still be on the safer side.

If I were you then I would divide my portfolio in below criteria
Bitcoin - 30%
Gold - 30%
Bonds - 20%
Fiat cash - 20%

I am not counting real estate because I am assuming if you are having real estate then just keep as it is.
This is just my idea of diversification and you can do your own research.

Finally got lucky today to reach my ultimate target after so many years.

Thanks to WoF spin, I got 3900 RP which I was wishing for to complete the target of 100k RP.
I don't play much on freebitco.in which is why I reach 100k RP till date but finally I have...

Well, I am sure it took years just with free RP's from rolls and WoF spins. Congrats on achieving your target! I need 55k for my next cashing, I think I will get to 100k by the end of this year... at least I hope so!

Yes ofcourse, there will be hardly few hundred RPs which I would have got from wagering and rest all of it is from the free roll and majorly WoF spins.
If it wasn't for the WoF spin then I would have probably reached 100k RP target in few more years.
I am thinking to wait for few more weeks so that I can exchange all of them to BTC.
I think instead of exchanging just 100k RP it would be better to collect some more and then exchange since we will not be able to exchange RP until we reach 100k RP again.

971  Local / India / Re: CBDC/eRuppe wallet is currently being tested! on: July 08, 2023, 02:18:17 PM
I saw this apparently they are linked up with ICICI Bank and require verification from there.

Has anyone tried this ? Whats the adv of testing it out ?

I haven't tried it till now but as I mentioned earlier their is a full video on YouTube about it by LLA. They did connect their wallet to their ICICI bank account and did a few transactions to demonstrate how it works. At the moment it will only work when someone has that wallet installed and active on their device. It is still in trial basis cannot quote any advantage for now, you can apply and give it a try if you want to use it.

Unless they are going to gve some airdrop or something why would I help the central banksters steal more money and track people via cbdc?

LOL  Grin

Don't be expecting any airdrops from RBI unless you are a senior citizen and have applied for a pension scheme and will probably live for next 10 years.
May be the government will try to giveaway pension through eRupee in future and then you can expect the so called airdrop.

Jokes apart, eRupee is the same as INR. So the government won't be giving it away for free ofcourse.
May be in future private banks may give way few INR like 100 rs to link your wallet to their banks or something.
972  Other / Off-topic / Re: P2P E-mail [Decentralization of email services] on: July 08, 2023, 02:06:34 PM
The system has a similar operation to the blockchain, however, with the challenge of allocating more data [emails] the operation should not depend on miners or fees, only on the connection between the nodes, using the no account, just hash  Wink
The moment you consider using blockchain for projects like E-mail or social media is the moment they fall apart. I generally see two problems
- First is the fact that decentralized blockchain is a public ledger and should be stored and verified by every peer. In a payment system like bitcoin it makes some sense to do it specially since there is incentive, however it makes no sense to store everyone else's emails in your node or even relay their emails to propagate it through the network!
- Second is the way you would want to secure this chain. Any algorithm you use needs people to have an incentive to contribute to its securing, an E-mail service can not have incentive like a payment system (ie. pay to send email) or it becomes less attractive to use.
As a bonus issue: it is going to be impossible to prevent spam.

A P2P chat like messaging system is different though, it needs no "chain" and it is much easier to build and make decentralized.

reliable email that can execute smart contracts.
Why would an email need to execute smart contracts?

The question is

Why would anyone want to verify the other's email ?

In case of bitcoin, since it was a payment it was mandatory to be verified but in case of emails I don't think everyone should care to verify it.
So the " need for decentralized emails" is not really there in my perspective. It's something that should be kept private since we receive OTPs and other personal info in our emails.

What do you think?
973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: AI can hold a Bitcoin balance, send/receive Bitcoin. Worrying? on: July 08, 2023, 01:18:09 PM
Security and data privacy are the important concerns by letting AI tool to automate sending and receiving of cryptos. I won't trust any technology no matter how much trusted they are, allowing it to access our private keys is big concern and it voids the security so if the data from software leaks then your funds are at the risk.

As folks who are bitcoin bullish do you have any concerns or worries regarding this development?

No. People who've tried chatbot (such as chatGPT) already know AI sometimes can produce wrong information. Imagine what would happen if the AI send to wrong recipient, send wrong amount or set wrong amount of transaction fee. So anyone who value their Bitcoin wouldn't let AI manage their Bitcoin.

As far as I understood, these AI tools are developed to facilitate developers to create more robust AI infrastructures with LN because earlier they were using credit cards due to which the cost was high.
It's not meant for use of regular users and in no way it mentions that regular users should give away their private keys to these AI tools.
That would be a blunder in itself and nobody with a sane mind would ever commit this mistake of giving their private key to any 3rd party.
974  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Faucet Free Bitcoin - For Beginner Experience on: July 08, 2023, 12:45:23 PM
Claiming faucets these days should be a school lab experiment for kids. It's not something to be claimed by regular bitcoin users.
The current price of bitcoin is so high that claiming faucets to collect a decent amount for withdrawal will take a huge amount of time.
It's not worth to spend that much time on faucets and there are other better options to work on to collect BTC.
975  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't consider yourself lucky on: July 07, 2023, 04:55:14 PM
That's a good point mentioned by OP. Never claim something that is not yours. If you see something valuable for free then always doubt it.
Nobody would give something away for free or at a huge discount unless something is fishy about it.
In this case, it was more like fishing for the scammers where they were showing seeds to people just to lure them into depositing money into their wallets.
976  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Virtual bug? on: July 07, 2023, 04:41:40 PM
Isnt it just miles better to try betting on verifiable real matches. I can't comprehend advantage of virtual game betting honestly. I guess I didn't even exactly understand. If its just computer programme trying to act like football/soccer game there can be 5 goals from away team. Its rare but possible even in Real life. But if something like that happens in a minute - well its impossible. Most of the time couple of minutes already pass after a team scores a goal to continue.

You are absolutely right. It's always best to bet on matches happening in real life because those have lesser chance of being manipulated.
Betting on virtual games can be risky and should be avoided all time. We never know if the game is being manipulated or not.
The chances of losing our bets on such games are higher ofcourse.

Additionally, reallife matches provide an opportunity to analyze the teams' performance and make more informed decisions thus increasing our chances of success in betting.
So it's better to stick to the safer option and enjoy the thrill of real sports.
977  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: July 07, 2023, 04:19:35 PM
Gambling is risky and can drain our bank accounts; I often felt remorse for my takes action, but it was only temporary, and the next day, I returned to gambling, and this time, I used everything at my disposal, disregarding the repercussions. That is completely one of the characteristics of an addict, ready to place anything valuable to raise money for gambling, but that was my previous life, and I'm a changed guy with good examples. I bet frequently, and I'm able to regulate the amount of my gambling rate; I gamble twice on weekends, and only on games that I'm confident about; if it goes according to my predictions, I enjoy; if it goes against my predictions, I lose; in any case, I liked.

It's not bad to gamble but gambling above your budget is. We should know how much we can afford to lose and only gamble within our limits.
It's always good to acknowledge your mistake and do the right thing. While you knew you were spending more on gambling you still took control started saving.
Not everyone has the capability to do that. Make sure you stick to it and never fall for the money making through gambling trap again.
978  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling scenario that keeps repeating on you on: July 07, 2023, 04:05:06 PM
I can relate to what you are saying; none of the strategies or scenarios work out in the end. The house is always smarter than you can imagine. On various occasions, I have tried multiple strategies, like taking a half-minute break after every minute. Initially, it seemed profitable, but after some time, I started losing my profits and ended up with nothing.

Some days may be profitable, but most days you ultimately end up with nothing. No matter what strategy you employ to defeat it, the house always wins.

Taking a break thing does work. I have tried it on multiple occasions and it worked quite a few times.
When we keep losing bets then it's better to stop after a few bets and come back the next day or after a few days.
Many times, you will win after the break but if you still keep betting after losing consecutive bets then you will just lose more.
979  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accepting Bitcoin on: July 06, 2023, 04:52:07 PM
Since I joined this forum I have always wanted to invest in Bitcoin however Bitcoin investments in my country is not easy because of our currency value and the government is not in much support am currently working on convincing my mom to accepting Bitcoin in her tailoring shop i Also intend on hodling those Bitcoins

I would appreciate any advice on this my move

What do you mean when you say its not easy to buy bitcoin because of currency value ?
It doesn't matter what is the currency value unless you are from Venezuela.
If there are people interested to buy/sell bitcoins then you can surely buy some BTC for yourself.

As far as accepting bitcoin for your mom's tailoring shop then make sure you don't get in trouble because bitcoin is not a legal tender yet in most places.
So you can't accept it as a payment method officially and I won't recommend doing things illegally.
980  Local / India / Re: How many have Ethereum on their prorfolio? on: July 06, 2023, 04:42:39 PM
ETH makes about 20% of my crypto portfolio. Majority of them are earned during the initial golden days of ICOs. I had joined a lot of bounty campaigns that time and made a good amount of ETH. But unfortunately I have sold a lot of them. But I am not actually investing in ETH to be honest. All of my ETH holding comes from bounty.

I rarely invest in crypto either; it's all just comes from side earning. I also earned a lot of ether from bounties but didn't actually convert those alts into eth/btc to secure profits, eventually they all bit the dust (or some stupid decisions like selling aave early, back then it was called ethlend), hence losing most of eth.

Quote
I personally believe that ETH is the second most desirable cryptocurrency in the market.

I personally like it over btc even as long as it's gas prices are decent enough  Tongue

Even I had got ETHLEND out of nowhere. I just opened my wallet one day and found there were these coins. I just ignored it thinking its one of those shitcoins.
After few years I noticed its dollar value had increased significantly and by that time it had converted to AAVE. So I just sold all of them and got around $300.
Now that's a decent amount getting for free.  Grin
