I have a question:

What are the upgrades going to cost on average?

Hi Smiley,
We are working on a new payment structure, so this isn't a complete answer, but for the next generation it should be about 15 USD. For V3 there will likely be a different payment structure so I can't fully answer the question. It will never be unreasonable, always optional, and the added features of each new generation will be significant.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Pablo.
I am also a customer of https://www.bit-trader.net/ as well so I will let you know which platform does a better job of trading.

Any plans to create a standalone module (without Chrome)?

Hi Smiley,
Yes there are, but those are not immediate plans. Chrome allows the extension to be portable into various operating systems without the need for any reworking of the code and also provides a stable platform. We are currently working on rewriting the bot from scratch and adding new features, making the bot standalone will not be in immediate development until the features we plan to add make that a technical requirement.

Please let me know if you have any other questions Smiley.

One fuction I would really love to see in the future ( and would pay for ! ) is support of the altcoins on BTC-e. So much volatility... Imagine the bot detecting a pump, and exploiting it. wow.

I installed the bot and I'm now deciding on the best settings. When I feel satisfied it's running OK i'll give it acces to all my BTC and post an in-dept review.

Joerii,
Alt Coin trading is something that if all goes well we will implement in a future release. Right now we are focusing on V2 which will be a full, from the ground up, rewrite of B-Bot to be able to support these new features in future releases, as well as some great surprises which will be announced in the coming weeks Smiley.

Please let me know if there is anything you need in the meantime.

I'm having a problem installing the bot,  Chrome won't accept the file in the email I received. Seems like the latest version of Chrome has blocked that function to prevent malicious extensions to be installed to easily.

https://support.google.com/chrome_webstore/answer/2664769?p=crx_warning&rd=1

How can I get around this and install it ?

Hi Joerii Smiley,
Apologies for the delay in reply. Please do the following:

1. Go to the "Manage Extensions" Page here: chrome://extensions/
2. Drag the bot file there and drop it in.
3. Accept the prompts.

4. You're all set!

Please let me know if there is anything else that you may need.

Suggested Settings Update:

Based on current market conditions, I am updating our introductory settings to the following:

Buy 1:0.15
Buy 2:0.23

Sell 1:0.13
Sell 2:0.17

30 Minute Window

This is to account for the lower volatility and thus the less need to exit early with your profits; these updated settings are intended to keep you in the downturn a little bit longer in the hopes that it might turn around. Please keep in mind these settings are intended to only be used during the first week or so of bot operation, after which you should develop your own schedule based on missed and gained opportunities and personal experience Smiley.

If anyone has any questions, please just drop me an email: Pablo@btcbots.com

Any plans for BTC-e implementation?  I won't touch gox with a 50ft pole.

YES. We are working hard on that. I will post an update soon regarding what key features can be expected in V2 and V3 Smiley.

This is interesting.

A question : Will this bot protect me from the trade lag that happens when a lot of panic sell orders come in at MtGox ?

If it does, I'll probably try this baby out. Is there still an active coupon code ?

kind regards, Joerii

Hi Joerii Smiley,
The current bot is designed to be resistant to lag on the Gox API, meaning that it won't crash if the API is overwhelmed or down and it will ping the API periodically until it gets a response and then execute/hold off on the trade depending on the latest information received. It will also let you know the API is lagging on the main interface menu.

We are working on a full solution to the MtGox API issue that will be released in a couple of weeks as we have undertaken rewriting the bot again from the ground up for it to be able to sustain the features we plan to include in future releases.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you by posting here or dropping me an email Smiley.

We have just released Version 1.1.2 (designated 0.2.6.crx).

It was just emailed to all existing customers and will be updated in the store delivery system.

This version fixes some bugs that were reported over the past week, mainly the "Trading Disabled" feature turning on by default. If anyone has any issues, please do not hesitate to contact me at pablo@btcbots.com.

Thanks to the great work of our Fast Response programming team Smiley.

Look for MAJOR changes in the coming weeks.

998  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Unauthorized Payments / Electronic Fund Transfer Chargebacks on: May 25, 2013, 04:51:18 PM
Hey Smiley,
Just to compliment my post; when we ran the exchange (which was one of the larger ones), we were a legally established company and we took this and some of the early chargeback through several legal levels without much result. In the end it's cheaper to eat the chargeback than to fight PayPal or the credit card companies.

Again, this has just been my personal experience; I sincerely hope you find a solution to this issue. Buying Bitcoins today is way too complicated and if you find a good work around you will be doing a lot for increasing adoption as well as making a healthy profit Smiley.

Wish you the best Smiley.

999  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Unauthorized Payments / Electronic Fund Transfer Chargebacks on: May 25, 2013, 01:41:28 PM
I think you are being a tad naive about how the payments industry works (no offense intended); I'd like to tell you a story that I think will illustrate my point:

1. Once upon a time I ran a Linden dollar exchange.
2. One day a customer comes and tells me he wants to buy 500 USD a day of Lindens to run his casino.
3. I was naive.
4. I got him to send me a letter stating that he authorised the transactions, a copy of the front and back of his credit card to prove that he had it, a copy of his electric an water bill, and a copy of his bank statement with the same address as his water bill. I also called him to the phone number on record for his credit card. I thought I was covered.
5. 12,000 USD later (almost two months) I cut him off, I had realised something was off about this earlier but I was greedy.
6. The next day I wake up to a full chargeback load.
7. I call PayPal and it takes me 5 DAYS to reach a manager.
8 I inform the manager of all my documentation and phone verification.
9. Manager treats me like shit and informs me that it doesn't matter that I have all that documentation because "they can not receive it from me as evidence of a lawful transaction," (I'm paraphrasing a bit, the exact words elude me right now).
10. They charge back EVERY CENT and never even bother to receive my evidence. A manager told me that my options were to pretty much sue or shut up.
11. I lost all that money.
12. I learned a VERY valuable lesson.

You have to keep in mind that that level verification is impossible to perform on EVERY customer in any exchange. And you also have to keep in mind that Bitcoin has a much more sophisticated and professional level of criminal beyond you every day "friendly fraud". The reasons behind why PayPal can not give a fuck and Credit Cards make you pay for friendly fraud have been better explained by others, but you have to keep in mind that there is no way around the system, they don't care about reducing fraud because they don't pay for it. Just don't use credit cards or PayPal, it will bite you in the ass.

Pablo.
