221  Other / Meta / Project Development board change/move? on: October 12, 2020, 05:34:50 PM
Project Development board is being under attack for weeks from same scam fake Satoshi First smart contract at bitcoin and members like:
 Kira17119,
 xSTRIFERx,
 Jolendone12,
 SA.TO.SHI_BTC
... and others

My suggestion is to make some changes and enable public trust feedback and warning message in Project Development board, and make it same like in other forum sections where negative feedback can be seen with warning message if I gave him negative tag feedback.

This is what they are posting, and you can not see any negative trust feedback on his profile:

It should be like this:

222  Economy / Reputation / Intrader false accusations and wrong use of trust on: October 09, 2020, 02:08:56 AM
I need opinion from other members about one guy intrader

He opened this topic in Scam Accusations section:

probably you hear about Lelantus its a XZC (zcoin) concept scam that lured investors to invest into their self-claimed privacy cryptocurrency, its been 3 years since was first introduced in 2018 and unfortunately its only a concept , maybe until 2022 still not will be launch, they are currently likely in the mode exit scam phase.
stay away from it or you will loss your money.
Their twitter:
https://mobile.twitter.com/zcoinofficial
https://mobile.twitter.com/zreubenz
Their website:
https://zcoin.io/
■■■EXTREMELY HIGH RISK ■■■
■■■ #LELANTUS ■■■ (alleged fake project)
■■■ Exit scam detected■■■
Archive: https://archive.vn/YmKgz

After I told him to use proper format and give more information when reporting scams he told me this:
I don't be like you always stay online for crypto i have other business to do not a jobless

And he gave me Negative feedback false accusing me that I try to mislead people with scam coin:

Conclusion:
- Wrong usage of trust system
- False accusation against fellow member
- Can't communicate with other people
- No proof for any of his claims
- Lying

I am not the guy to make retaliation, so I left him Neutral feedback, but after his behavior I can't trust him at all.

223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Drivechain - Bitcoin sidechains on: September 26, 2020, 08:34:13 PM

I don't see many people are talking about Bitcoin sidechains as Layer2 solution.

There is one project working on this called Drivechain.

I just started to explore and read more about it, and I see there is some potential here, but I would love to hear what you think about this.

Quote
PEER-TO-PEER BITCOIN SIDECHAINS
Drivechain allows Bitcoin to create, delete, send BTC to, and receive BTC from “Layer-2”s called “sidechains”. Sidechains are Altcoins that lack a native “coin” – instead, pre-existing coins [from a different blockchain] must first be sent over.

Once on a sidechain, coins can change hands an unlimited number of times, and in an unlimited number of new ways. Thus, BTC-owners can opt-in to new features or tradeoffs. Meanwhile, the Bitcoiners who don’t opt-in, never need to care what any sidechain is doing.

Transfers from sidechain back to the mainchain (ie, from Layer 2 back to Layer 1) are not done via verifiable proof, but instead via conjecture-and-refutation. A “bundle” of transfers is asserted, and then slowly “ACKed” over time. After 3 months of ACKing, the bundle succeeds. Thus, the SC:BTC market price cannot deviate significantly from a 1:1 ratio.

Quote
KEY BENEFITS
Only obtainable via Drivechain:

Three existential threats to BTC are neutralized – altcoin-competition, hard fork campaigns, and extension block campaigns.
BTC development becomes anti-fragile with respect to CoreDev mistakes.
BTC maintains hashrate security in the long run.
BTC can scale to credit-card level txn-processing – without changing the CONOP of Bitcoin Core. These cheap txns have optimal fungibility and supply vital pretext to the BTC ecosystem.
BTC gains new, experimental abilities, especially P2P event derivatives.

Quote
MAIN BENEFITS
Permissionless Innovation: Anyone can create a new blockchain project, without facing the (near-impossible) task of also bootstrapping a new unit of money.
Eliminates Competition: Bitcoin will always have the best code, because it can copy any code that exists.
Freedom to Choose: Satoshi’s consensus protocol requires everyone to agree on everything, down to the very last byte. Sidechains allow users to choose which benefits they would like to pay for.
OTHER BENEFITS
Anti-Scam: SCs filter out get-rich-quick schemes (the ‘get rich’ part is now impossible). Therefore, good projects can stand out and receive our attention.
Faster Progress: SCs let us test new features. The tests are safe – if these features fail, they won’t take down the main network. However, the tests are also informative – real BTC is on the line.

225  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Merit Source aplikacija on: September 20, 2020, 08:06:55 PM

After some thinking I decided to write this merit source application with intention to help other active members who are making good posts.
I have been active forum member for almost 3 years now, and bitcointalk has become part of my every daily routine, as well as writing in many topics including our local Croatian board.

This is my current merit stats from BPIP website:

Thanks to the great BPIP website and DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard I also did some investigation with other members like Rikafip
and we found out that our local board was often times in top positions when we looked at activity and making post, but near bottom when we looked at merits.
I would like to contribute and change that and reward more good posts, not only in our local board but in all other forum sections, but often times I am out of sMerits.

Here are 10 posts deserving more merits:

1. Re: Kako najbolje prodati kriptovalute?
2. Re: Mjesečna Analiza za Hrvatsku Lokalnu Zajednicu (Bitcointalk Croatian)
3. Re2: Kako najbolje prodati kriptovalute?
4. Velike kompanije su pocele investirati u bitcoin kao sigurnu imovinu
5. Najam brodova u Hrvatskoj pomoću kriptovaluta
6. Re: bitcoin priča - merit giveaway
7. Re: Satoshi Nakamoto diskusija, teorije i kandidati
8. Bitcoin.org prijevod na hrvatski
9. Re: Bitcoin Novčanici
10. Re: Unban RegulusHr - Thank you theymos

There are many more post deserving merits, so I may update this topic in future.
I hope my application will be reviewed and accepted.

229  Economy / Reputation / Lucius is signature spammer by Lucius on: August 26, 2020, 10:28:59 AM
One girl who ever called Lucius a spammer here is Lucius herself.

She obviously have a lot of stuff to write now, and I am expecting a book from her soon.

Someone like Lucius can not be trusted by me, because she twists the facts and creates misleading clickbait titles.

I wish her all the best in her life, and to grow up soon.

I am sorry if I ever offended her feelings, and I hope she can forgive me.

230  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Koliko Bitcoina je dovoljno imati? on: August 25, 2020, 02:43:03 PM
Jedna mala Bitcoin anketa.
Trenutno je Bitcoin oko $11000 ali u budućnosti to može biti mnogo više (ili mnogo manje).
Koliko Bitcoina je po vama dovoljno imati da bi osigurali svoju budućnost?
231  Local / Off-topic (Hrvatski) / Lažov Lucija on: August 25, 2020, 01:39:31 PM

I avoid this part of the forum as much as possible because I am not a person who enjoys endless discussions about someone’s reputation or similar things. I try to follow the rules of the forum and be as correct as possible towards other users, which I do not always succeed in, but I think that most people perceive me as a positive person on the forum (exceptions, of course, always exist).

What particularly bothers me is that someone calls me a signature spammer, because I have never been one and I have zero tolerance for such people. Although I do not pay much attention to such things, I have been in a similar situation many times as today, so I think I should react and point out the somewhat strange behavior of a user who indirectly called me a signature spammer. He of course shares the opinion of some other members of my local community who also used the same terminology when I was concerned.

I would ask members to visit this topic : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5265233.20 (https://archive.vn/lehNQ) and to tell me what they think of the member dkbit98 and his opinion that I am a signature spammer or his attitude in general when we speak of some solid facts?

Interestingly, the person in question shares an identical opinion with his colleague from the local board :

Atleast you filled your signature quote mr.Right

Drago mi je da ti pomaze u tvojoj CM tjednoj kvoti

Translated : "Glad it helps you in your CM weekly quota"

I know that there is great envy and contempt for those who are members of the CM campaign, and dkbit98 is applied in same campaign few times (unsuccessful) just like his pal btcltcdigger - but that does not give them the right to call other signatures spammers.

Question I want to ask the members of this forum: In your opinion, is Lucius a person who only meets his signature quota, which would mean that he is a signature spammer, or are user comments like dkbit98 completely unfounded and inappropriate?

Local rule : dkbit98&btcltcdigger are not allowed to post here - their opinion is already quite familiar to me.

232  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Trezor One with USB-C on: August 22, 2020, 11:19:09 AM

Great thing about Trezor wallet is that it is fully open source and anyone can make it on their own if they want.
One guy that made didn't want to spend extra money on Trezor Model T, so he made his own version with UBS-C connection.
He was inspired by this video: https://youtu.be/mZmv4wG6_PE
Still missing some plastic case as he don't have 3d printer atm.

233  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Testiranje novog Bitcointalk foruma on: August 20, 2020, 06:09:31 PM

234  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Ledger hacked or not? 100k lost on: August 14, 2020, 01:39:42 PM

Ledger is again trending in Twitter and for all the bad reasons.
One guy reported 100k of his erc20 tokens have been missing from his Ledger wallet, and Ledger is investigating this.
https://twitter.com/StackingUSD/status/1294254623591739392

It could be he was a victim of phishing attack, but I would not suggest anyone using eth or any other erc20 shit for now.

235  Bitcoin / Wallet software / You heard about Lily Bitcoin wallet? on: August 09, 2020, 10:55:43 PM

Browsing internet I saw one  interesting open source non-custodial Bitcoin wallet with multisig vaults:
https://github.com/KayBeSee/lily-wallet

It is still RC version being developed by KayBeSee
https://github.com/KayBeSee

Version 1 is released with some updates and website:
https://lily-wallet.com/

Quote
Features

- Multisignature Vaults: Easily setup 2-of-3 multisig vaults using hardware wallets
- Segwit: All transactions use bech32 segwit addresses
- Multiple Accounts: Easily create new HD wallets on the fly with a few clicks
- Stateless: There is no database. The app is populated from a password encrypted configuration file
- Interoperable: Export your vault to use in other software like Unchained Capital's Caravan or BlueWallet

Hardware Wallet Support

- Coldcard
- Ledger
- Trezor

I installed release candidate first version for testing and to see how the wallet works.
After installing I selected New wallet and then have an option to choose and create new Bitcoin wallet or use multiple hardware wallets and creating a vault.
Interface is nice and bright and I can connect multiple hardware wallets in same time.

I am testing Lily wallet as alternative for well known Electrum wallet and as alternative for stupid Ledger Live app.

Lilly wallet is nice, but it needs to be tested and code needs to go some audits for bugs.
It's always good to have alternative for Electrum, we don't want devs to get lazy don't we   Grin

What do you think?
236  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Ledger wallet App Isolation Bypass Alert on: August 04, 2020, 04:42:19 PM
Website Monokh released report for new vulnerability found in wallet can lead to theft of user funds.
Anyone using Bitcoin forks (Litecoin, BCash, testnet Bitcoin etc.) could e affected with this issue.

Ledger was informed about this but it still remain unaddressed!

Quote
Summary

The ledger device exposes bitcoin (mainnet) public key and signing functionality outside of the "Bitcoin" app. It presents misleading transaction confirmation requests indicating the selected app's addresses and amounts when in fact different transactions are being signed.

Quote
The issue

It was discovered that for Bitcoin and Bitcoin forks, the device exposes it's functions for any of the assets. In other words, having unlocked the Litecoin app, you will receive a confirmation request for a Bitcoin transfer while the interface presents it as a transfer of Litecoins to a Litecoin address. Accepting the confirmation produces a fully valid signed Bitcoin (mainnet) transaction.

Quote
Steps to reproduce:

    Open the Litecoin app

Retrieve mainnet bitcoin (segwit) addresses using getWalletPublicKey('84'/0'/0'/').publicKey

Query UTXOs and construct a bitcoin transaction to spend outputs

Send createPaymentTransactionNew(...) to prompt device for signing this transaction

Receive Bitcoin Mainnet valid signed transaction

Expectation: Ledger device should throw an error at step 2 and step 4 and prevent execution

Actual: Ledger prompts user for a litecoin transaction and produces a valid signed transaction spending the Bitcoin utxos

Quote
Impact

The implications are serious. As briefly covered, users expect to be protected by the ledger device when they have not unlocked their Bitcoin app. Yet, while having an altcoin unlocked, external applications can still:

-   Read the Bitcoin xpub (thereby knowing all addresses belonging to the wallet)
-   Prompt Bitcoin transactions from the device that will be displayed as altcoin transactions

What is easy solution for regular users?
- Avoid using any altcoin apps in Ledger walet.

238  Economy / Service Discussion / Checking transaction history before accepting deal? on: July 24, 2020, 10:41:57 PM
Do you think people should check transaction history before accepting any deals on bitcointalk forum and exchanging coins with other people?

There are many hacks (last case was Twitter hack, or Plus token scam) and hackers with addresses blacklisted by big exchanges (like Binance, Coinbase etc.)

In theory someone can try to sell coins in bitcointalk forum with lower price just to avoid locked coins in centralized exchanges.
Member that purchased this coins can have problems in future when he tries to spend or exchange them.

Few websites I found for checking BTC addresses:
https://www.bitcoinabuse.com/
https://scam-alert.io/

What would be the best thing to do for regular members and newbies before executing trades here?
