 I don't see many people are talking about Bitcoin sidechains as Layer2 solution. There is one project working on this called Drivechain. I just started to explore and read more about it, and I see there is some potential here, but I would love to hear what you think about this. PEER-TO-PEER BITCOIN SIDECHAINS
Drivechain allows Bitcoin to create, delete, send BTC to, and receive BTC from “Layer-2”s called “sidechains”. Sidechains are Altcoins that lack a native “coin” – instead, pre-existing coins [from a different blockchain] must first be sent over.
Once on a sidechain, coins can change hands an unlimited number of times, and in an unlimited number of new ways. Thus, BTC-owners can opt-in to new features or tradeoffs. Meanwhile, the Bitcoiners who don’t opt-in, never need to care what any sidechain is doing.
Transfers from sidechain back to the mainchain (ie, from Layer 2 back to Layer 1) are not done via verifiable proof, but instead via conjecture-and-refutation. A “bundle” of transfers is asserted, and then slowly “ACKed” over time. After 3 months of ACKing, the bundle succeeds. Thus, the SC:BTC market price cannot deviate significantly from a 1:1 ratio. Pamtite li Luciusa koji je brisao svoje postove vezane za Regulus ban, i kako je naprasno nestao iz lokal foruma. Sad taj isti Lucius optužuje mene kako sam rekao da je on spammer. Aj kako smo nisko pali. Nemam nameru dalje diskutovati sa njim. Mnogo mu je dosadno, pa je otvorio i topic samo za mene i zabranio mi pristup: I avoid this part of the forum as much as possible because I am not a person who enjoys endless discussions about someone’s reputation or similar things. I try to follow the rules of the forum and be as correct as possible towards other users, which I do not always succeed in, but I think that most people perceive me as a positive person on the forum (exceptions, of course, always exist). What particularly bothers me is that someone calls me a signature spammer, because I have never been one and I have zero tolerance for such people. Although I do not pay much attention to such things, I have been in a similar situation many times as today, so I think I should react and point out the somewhat strange behavior of a user who indirectly called me a signature spammer. He of course shares the opinion of some other members of my local community who also used the same terminology when I was concerned. - Trezor I installed release candidate first version for testing and to see how the wallet works. After installing I selected New wallet and then have an option to choose and create new Bitcoin wallet or use multiple hardware wallets and creating a vault. Interface is nice and bright and I can connect multiple hardware wallets in same time. I am testing Lily wallet as alternative for well known Electrum wallet and as alternative for stupid Ledger Live app. Lilly wallet is nice, but it needs to be tested and code needs to go some audits for bugs. It's always good to have alternative for Electrum, we don't want devs to get lazy don't we  What do you think? |

Website Monokh released report for new vulnerability found in wallet can lead to theft of user funds. Anyone using Bitcoin forks (Litecoin, BCash, testnet Bitcoin etc.) could e affected with this issue. Ledger was informed about this but it still remain unaddressed! Summary
The ledger device exposes bitcoin (mainnet) public key and signing functionality outside of the "Bitcoin" app. It presents misleading transaction confirmation requests indicating the selected app's addresses and amounts when in fact different transactions are being signed. The issue
It was discovered that for Bitcoin and Bitcoin forks, the device exposes it's functions for any of the assets. In other words, having unlocked the Litecoin app, you will receive a confirmation request for a Bitcoin transfer while the interface presents it as a transfer of Litecoins to a Litecoin address. Accepting the confirmation produces a fully valid signed Bitcoin (mainnet) transaction. Steps to reproduce:
Open the Litecoin app
Retrieve mainnet bitcoin (segwit) addresses using getWalletPublicKey('84'/0'/0'/').publicKey
Query UTXOs and construct a bitcoin transaction to spend outputs
Send createPaymentTransactionNew(...) to prompt device for signing this transaction
Receive Bitcoin Mainnet valid signed transaction
Expectation: Ledger device should throw an error at step 2 and step 4 and prevent execution
Actual: Ledger prompts user for a litecoin transaction and produces a valid signed transaction spending the Bitcoin utxos Impact
The implications are serious. As briefly covered, users expect to be protected by the ledger device when they have not unlocked their Bitcoin app. Yet, while having an altcoin unlocked, external applications can still:
- Read the Bitcoin xpub (thereby knowing all addresses belonging to the wallet)

Do you think people should check transaction history before accepting any deals on bitcointalk forum and exchanging coins with other people? There are many hacks (last case was Twitter hack, or Plus token scam) and hackers with addresses blacklisted by big exchanges (like Binance, Coinbase etc.) In theory someone can try to sell coins in bitcointalk forum with lower price just to avoid locked coins in centralized exchanges. Member that purchased this coins can have problems in future when he tries to spend or exchange them.
