I expected Chelsea to win though because they dominated the game in the first half, created a number of chances but couldn't get the goals coming. Losing Raheem Sterling in the first half wasn't so good and it got a negative effect on tbe team. Manchester city were able to reduce the gap from league  leaders Arsenal. The goal in the 63rd minutes was able to guarantee all three points for Manchester City.
Pep knew what they had to do in the second half and changing their two defenders at the start of the second half was the right decision I think.
On the other hand their dominance in possession and chances were increased again in the second half and the result was not bad. goals from Mahrez were the only ones that were created in this match but indeed even though they closed the distance with Arsenal they still couldn't relax especially since their points were still 5 points away.

I think Chelsea are being smart in this window, trying to minimize reckless spending and still going for the best possible options in the market. Chelsea's €85 m should be enough to sign Enzo Fernandez except Benfica are just raising the value to fend off interests from other clubs who are interested in the player. Chelsea also need to worry about getting one or two defenders to add up to their defensive options.
On the other hand, I think Benfica should have let Enzo go because in any case Enzo's value has gone up because of the world cup hype and I think if you let it go too long it will actually make his value decrease especially in this case I personally am still not sure he will have an increase in performance like in the world cup.
That price is already very high for a 21 year old player and I think the best thing is to let go and not push clauses that don't make too much sense.

Crystal Palace 0:4 Tottenham Full Time

I didn't fully understand what happened to Viera and his boys. Crystal Palace was playing good football and even playing and pressuring more than Tottenham in the first half.
I got busy with other things, while checking the livescores now, why and how did Tottenham manage to score 4 goals in the second half without a red card from Palace?
The second half Tottenham really played very well in this match and this is a very good thing after their 2 matches did not go well.
After Kane's first goal Crystal Pallace completely lost their concentration and this was put to good use by Tottenham in this match. Hopefully they will continue to carve this good result in the next match.

Tottenham definitely need a win right now. Things are getting worse for them by every week. Maybe Brentford game was really tough but they should have been able to benefit from home stadium advantage against Aston Villa. They couldn't even get a point in that game. Now Manchester United have left them behind in the standings and the current gap is even 5 points.

This is getting more alarming for Conte's Tottenham so I hope to see improved performances against C. Palace tonight. Maybe they are having problems in defense especially but they can still win by starting to be better at finishing.

Tottenham is trailing, which is unlike them from last season, they have performed poorly in their most recent matches, but Crystal Palace is the type of team that wouldn't be difficult for them to defeat. Perhaps today's match will be a catalyst for them to catch up with Manchester United, but in order for them to meet, they must each win at least two matches. However, simply by looking at the odds, it is clear that Manchester United will win due to their recent improvements and track record of consistently defeating Everton, Tottenham has lots of work to do in order to overcome all these obstacles else they risk going to the Europa League.
Overall they are still very good now from the start of the season until now but it is true that in the last 2 matches they have not gone well but the fact that they are still in the top 6 is of course still quite good.
Now their match has entered the second round and it seems that this is no different from the previous 2 matches. They are still very difficult to keep the rhythm of the game and this is not very good for them.

There is an info pollution about the Enzo Fernandez transfer to Chelsea. Because this time it is claimed by some sources that Chelsea aren't much willing to pay the amount in his release clause - 120 million euros. But before this news, it was like they were even ready to pay more than this value considering the probable terms of the deal with his release clause amount. They were thinking like they would be in more profit.

If they really pay such an amount then I wonder if they will be able to allocate that much money for some other transfers. They have made their striker moves though and Enzo Fernandez move would strengthen the midfield. I don't know if they would think of transfers for some other positions.
They have said this before because they will try their best to do that but still bring Enzo to Stampord Bridge even though until now there has been no further information on this matter.
On the other hand, of course, this is a little difficult because apart from Enzo, several players were previously brought in at not cheap prices, let's say Benoit with a transfer fee of 38 million and Nkunku worth 53 million.

There is no doubt that Liverpool possessed alot of the possession but Salah was not in his best mood to score the goals. I don't know  what to say about Nunez since his arrival. The whole situation is just tiring.
Liverpool should pray that Luiz Diaz should be fit with the addition of Gakpo. That is where I am seeing some positive change in the team. Otherwise nothing will come out of it.
Their attack line is still in trouble even from the previous game which won against Leicester like a give away thanks to an own goal.
This is a little difficult when indeed their condition has not changed much even though the great hopes are clearly visible for them.
Salah and Nunez still haven't been able to contribute much in this regard and the opportunities they have were wasted. and I agree that hope for Diaz and Gakpo is the last solution at this time.

Al-Nassr seem like they are interested in everyone now. The money is like limitless really.  Grin

First they have signed Ronaldo and now Modric is another target. They are trying to do the same thing China teams did with star players who were getting old. They can convince Modric as well actually because he is already getting close to his retirement. He would be replaced with youngsters in Real Madrid squad soon. He is still a qualified player of course but I don't know how long they continue to keep a good level from now on.
They seem to want to make Los Galacticos in the Arab league and of course this is quite astonishing because indeed if these players join it is clear that this will be a special attraction for this club.
Now their targets are Ramos and Modric and it's a really crazy plan if they can put their plan into action.
Ronaldo's arrival alone has caused an uproar, let alone the arrival of other big players.
468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 02, 2023, 08:59:27 PM
Relegation zone seems boring this season, the three teams at the bottom are doing poorly and the closest team to them are spezia with 6 points difference its a big gap for teams unable to win to overcome, and all of them will have tough games in the next rounds so no changes expected on the bottom of the table at least for a while.
What is surprising at this time is that Verona continues to sink to the bottom of the standings and most likely go to Serie B even though if you look at the previous season they have always been able to perform well and continue to be in the middle of the standings. But this season is very different for Verona, 15 matches just one win, and 2 draws made them crumble at the bottom and their defense this season is the worst defense for Verona when compared to the previous few seasons.
The club is currently undergoing an internal problem. the condition of the team is not tied around the player's Performance only. The club's strength was much upon players like Giovanni Simeone, Mateo Cancellieri, and Gianluca Capriari who were sold out before the beginning of this season, and this left the club at this detrimental stage. Even with that, the club is still at the edge of selling out one of the best defenders; Josh Doic. These I think are all as a result of financial constraints.
It's hard to see them when they are left behind by their core players and immediately start the season so this could indeed be the last thing for Verona in Serie A.
Their condition is very bad now of course finances will affect performance and selling players is one of their hopes even though they really need these players to strengthen the club.
It's a shame they are now stranded in the relegation zone.

This week it wasn't just Chelsea because Tottenham, Manchester City and Newcastle also couldn't play well although Tottenham were the worst in this regard.
But it's quite interesting to see the competition now after these conditions.
I was suprised that Chelsea couldn't win Nottingham, Chelsea scored their first goal in the early minutes of the first half, I was expecting them to score more goals in the match because they dominated the match, but unfortunately Nottingham equalized in the second half of the match and ended the match as draw.
Must of the top club's suprised lot's of people this week, some of them draw their match, why some even lose, most people that gambled this week are going to be affected.
It's hard to see conditions like this but on the other hand this is not the first time this has happened because this is the EPL and even a team that is seen as weak can bite at any time.
Now there may also be another surprise. The first half between Brentford and Liverpool was completely unexpected, Liverpool controlled the game but the result is 2-0 in favor of Brentford now and I think it's quite a shame if Liverpool still lose in the second half later.
470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 01, 2023, 07:47:41 PM
well I hope that in this little remaining time Chelsea should be able to score goals and end the game with full points. but it looks like it will be very difficult to obtain. because until the 89th minute, Chelsea had not been able to put significant pressure on the Nottingham Forest defense. I think I was wrong in expecting too much from Chelsea in this game.
When Manchester United and Liverpool managed to improve their performance, Chelsea even had trouble getting a win. Chelsea were forced to draw by the bottom team, losing two points prevented Chelsea from improving their ranking in the standings list. Potter's team is increasingly left behind from Manchester United who are starting to enter the top four positions.
Next week Chelsea will have a big game against the reigning champions, Manchester City will be very hard to beat if Potter doesn't apply the right strategy.
This week it wasn't just Chelsea because Tottenham, Manchester City and Newcastle also couldn't play well although Tottenham were the worst in this regard.
But it's quite interesting to see the competition now after these conditions. Arsenal ran alone because City stumbled at home while Tottenham had to accept their position being displaced by Manchester United after they lost quite embarrassingly to Aston Villa.

It's all around Ronaldo. It also seemed to be somewhat in line with expectations, but he has definitely opted for an evening hour in the sandbank. He will also have to deal with playing in front of empty stadiums. He has therefore clearly opted for the big money, sporting ambitions are apparently no longer there. You still have the Arab/African Champions League. Maybe he wants to win it again with a team. There were also few teams that had the financial means to pay Ronaldo, referring to the salary he asks for. I would have preferred to see him at a European top club. Isn't it suddenly very different for his family to settle there in an Eastern environment.
I was not surprised to understand that Ronaldo made the big movement for money. That is what I expected them to do at this stage of his career. Ronaldo is aged and he has nothing more to prove his career the only place he would have done something different was in the World Cup but his country men decided to Bench him to play younger players in the end they couldn't win the World Cup. So to keep alive his career he had to make a world breaking transfer records
Even though he is a player with ambition but still with this much money and with the conditions in terms of his age and after many achievements he got what to look for again after. to be in this league while spending my retirement I think it's a good thing.
I personally would probably do the same if I were Ronaldo because of what it looks like after the much fame he has now.
473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 01, 2023, 04:04:46 PM

Barcelona really needed to win this match to maintain a good position in La-Liga. But I don't see much improvement in the Barcelona team. Midfielder problem remains in the team. Hope the coach of the team will solve these problems and move on to a better place. Because if these problems are not solved, they will lose to teams like Real Madrid.
The Barcelona players for the midfield are still very young and still in the developing stage, I think, so there must be at least 1 experienced player to function to make them better.
Busquets has always been there but at the moment his contract is also running out this season and needs to be added as a patch but for players like Pedri or Gavi I think they are still very good, not very consistent which is normal because they are very young and still need time to mature.
474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 01, 2023, 03:06:38 PM
As long as they are good enough in attack I don't think there will be too many problems in Neuer's absence. This is not the first time he has been absent at Bayern because previously in the past few months he was also absent in the bundesliga and Champions League and had to be replaced by Ulreich but that is still very good, even now it will still be like that I think especially they still have the best defense vision is to attack .
Bayern Munich is a team that is very experienced in the Champions League and also in the Bundesliga so it will not be too affected by the absence of a player even though that player is a player the team has relied on. And now it is still being seen as proof that Bayern Munich is still at the top of the Bundesliga standings and is expected to be able to give a better surprise in the Champions League this season.
This is the point, as long as they are unbeaten in the middle and they are always concentrated, I really think that losing Neuer can also be anticipated.
But indeed to be more guarded, there is no reason for them apart from adding players in the goalkeeper sector as planned. Not that Ulreich is bad, but they need to increase their endurance, especially since the goalkeeper position is still vacant at the moment.
475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: December 30, 2022, 09:51:54 PM
Let's watch out for Bayern Munich's next match first, because I know Neuer's absence will be intensely felt by the team in their subsequent matches. Until then, I wouldn't say that the absence of a team's best goalkeeper is or will not be a problem for that club. No doubt, Dortmund is currently in an unfavorable condition, but other clubs have performed extremely well in the German Bundesliga this year, and they may likely be a problem to Bayern Munich. One must not be too sure of a meal until he has eaten it; Bayern has to work hard to annul the effect of Neuer's absence.

And now it is really official.

CR7 to Saudi Arabia.

Quite surprising to me was an easy call to Sporting.

He will play again after 2025 he always said he wants to end his carrier in his 1st team.
With confirmation from Fabrizio, this makes it even clearer and it is certain that the Middle East League will get a lot of attention with Goat there.
I think it looks like I will now start looking for the schedule of Alnassr matches later Cheesy Because I want to see how Ronaldo plays there.
Regardless of how the speculation is going on and the pros and cons in it, I will still support him in his career.
477  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: December 30, 2022, 08:49:48 PM
Sevilla are still unable to win a game. This time they drew with Celta Vigo by 1-1. They were horrible in the first half by the way. Celta Vigo could have made the score gap more than one actually and this would have ended up with a loss for Sevilla most probably. Sevilla must be thankful for not seeing it happening. They saved one point by improving their performance in the second half.

It looks like the break wasn't any help for Sevilla at all. They are still having big difficulties in their games and I'm starting to be worried about their possibility of even relegating from the La Liga. I know it is too early but I hope that doesn't happen.
They were really very bad in the first half, regardless of anything they lost very much, luckily the second half was much better even though a player had to be sent off by the referee in the last 5 minutes.
Quite a good match actually but seeing from their condition they still have a lot of shortcomings and this result is not able to get them out of the relegation zone at this time.
478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: December 29, 2022, 11:53:27 PM
Arsenal had better be careful this week. It is a more challenging fixture against Brighton. I know that Brighton don't have Potter anymore and they have been in a phase to adapt to the new manager for some time. But their general results so far have been quite decent. The Southampton victory must also be a big help for them to concentrate on the Arsenal game more.

Brighton have good statistics against Arsenal in home games considering the head-to-head games in this stadium in the Premier League. We will see if they will be able to use this as an advantage somehow. But Arsenal's extraordinary performance is really hard to stop now.
Brighton's condition was still not completely stable when Potter left them, but they are still a dark horse and indeed Arsenal must be wary of Brighton's play, especially for their midfield.
But I still feel this will be an advantage for Arsenal because their young players are actually very good in midfield and attack even if it is an away game Arsenal will still be favourites.
479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 29, 2022, 11:13:06 PM
so far no one doubts that Napoli have played consistently and played well in every game because they have not met an opposing team that is comparable to them at the moment and they really take advantage of every moment of their match so that they never drop points, against intermilan will make us know the strength the real Napoli club
With their first 3 matches after quite a long break now this could actually be a problem because 2 of the 3 matches that will be taking place are big matches. Their first game will be away to Inter and this will be troublesome and their third match will be no less troublesome because they will host Juventus.
This is a real test for their consistency and this can be a reference whether they can still do consistency or not.
480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: December 29, 2022, 10:50:21 PM
I'm curious about what Inter will do as well. They were pretty nice in the group stage. Most people were expecting to see Barcelona pushing them out of the Champions League but the opposite happened. It was quite unexpected for me as well to tell the truth. They got four points in total from Barcelona which was a really good effort. Now they are going to face Porto in last 16 stage. On paper, Inter are the favourite team to advance of course. However bookmakers don't see them as a big favourite either - Inter to advance has a 1.76 odd while it is 1.96 for Porto.

But I believe in Inter to do this. I really appreciate their attacking performance this season. Maybe they have had defensive issues so far in general however they have mostly been very good at scoring. Porto are another productive team maybe but Inter should be able to eliminate them anyway by a small margin.
Their conditions, which were initially not too favorite in the group phase, became different when they performed well and were in 2nd place.
At the moment, even though Porto is still a pretty good team, there is a big chance, of course, for Inter, especially with their performance in the Champions League which is quite good.
Now there is still time to think about the Champions League. At the moment they have to focus on maintaining consistency in Serie A because if they do that it will be good at least there is a strong mentality for the Champions League.
