From the article...
Quote
A majority of people are beginning to wonder if fiat money still has any value, since the Fed can print nearly $3 trillion in a snap of the fingers.

I seriously doubt the 'majority of people' think about fiat in any manner except to wish they had more of it, and they don't even think of it as fiat, it is just 'money'. The bitcoin community is still a very small niche of humanity. There are similar un-referenced statements throughout. Other than providing a fun bit of btc hoo-raw there really isn't any substance to that article. IMO.
123  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How would you convince an atheist thief that stealing is wrong? on: June 03, 2020, 07:10:44 PM
Pretty simple. It causes pain and hardship to others when you steal. And eventually that ripple effect would be felt in everyone's lives including the thief's. No religion needed to see that being a thief is bad.

I'm pretty impressed by BTC holding $9500 today. Seems overall bullish to me.

Alright, which one of you did this?
Probably voice over but still good.

That's awesome and merit worthy, will do so when I re-up.

All I read was "3 people think the covid response was overblown." And they may be right. I can find 3 people that feel the same way without having to leave this thread.
Not exactly newsworthy or indicative of anything compelling.
You see... for you it may be not newsworthy but for some rioters it was enough to wear of mask and do their job. Police "virus" kills about 1000 US citizens a year when Covid19 already killed thousands of them in just 3 months. So where is real danger?

Ok, but to be serious, don't you think that reading this news it could help milions of real covidiots (pictured bellow) who believes that some scientists or medical experts couldn't be simply corrupted (or simply stupid enough) and spread lies as regular propagandists do?

They really wear this mask to protect themselves from virus killer  Grin

Hard to imagine people are still trying to use that stupid argument about the mask. Literally from day one it was clearly explained that you wear a mask primarily for others, not for yourself. At this point to claim otherwise is willful ignorance.

Inching toward 9600 USD/BTC.

Somewhere along the way everything changed. They switched from friendly blue to intimidating black. They started hiding their faces. They separated themselves from society. They developed an adversarial "us against them" stance and started treating the community (their bosses) as the enemy. They hid behind the anonymity of their uniforms and refused to give their names. They abdicated all personal responsibility.

A large part of this coincides with the militarization of the police. Flooding the forces with surplus military equipment, hiring direct from the military (and assuming military training with no decompression can substitute for civilian police training), shifting patrols so cops don't patrol their own neighborhoods, not hiring out of those neighborhoods, the various "war on XX" initiatives all promote that us vs. them mentality.

Am I alone in not giving a fuck about Musk’s launch?

Sorry not sorry!

Maybe you are not alone but I do care. It's not "Musk's launch", it's SpaceX, NASA, and thousands of people worldwide who have worked nearly a decade to get to this point, in spite of all the roadblocks, petty political infighting, crisis after crisis and an ever growing contingent of anti-intellectualism and isolation. It's a pretty big deal in my opinion and is a win for humanity.

Goldmann Ballsacks can suck my left fucking nut.

That's smart to keep one ball in reserve in case of a dip.

This is a case of cherry picking data to support a-priori conclusions. Smartest guy in the room logic.

@davyd

Haha! I didn't notice the touch screens at first. I guess today is a sideways day for the launch into orbit.

I am not promoting the givebitcoin.io website, but they do seem credible and to have a decent process in place that does strive to help with the onboarding of newbies... and even attempt to educate them before their bitcoins are fully released to the newbie.  You can set the time frame for the release up to a year, and so you can set whatever amount of BTC that you want to give to whichever relative or friend.. whether that is .001BTC or 1 BTC or any other amount.

https://givebitcoin.io/

Cool, thanks for sharing, I will look into it.

Goldman Sachs is asshoe!

Anyway, I think their anti-BTC presentation was them talking their book. They're probably still trying to load up on BTC at the tail end of this accumulation period.

Yep. Backing up the cart.

Today I ensured someones financially future, I made hime a BTC'er and send him his first corn.... From now his set for life, but he will be better of cause his gonna continue buying after this as well !!!

I hope we can all contribute as El Duderino does  Grin Cheesy Kiss Tongue

The Dude is helping the envoirment !!!!!!

That's awesome. I've been thinking for awhile I wanted to get a few hardware wallets and pre-load with a small amount of coin for some of my relatives. I think they'd appreciate it but I'm not sure I want to sign up to be their personal IT guy every time they want a transaction. I then think if I take all the risk and it works out I'll just share, but then they won't benefit from actually learning about it.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ---> Can You Sill Find Altcoins That Can Go Up 1000% Or even 2000% ??? on: May 27, 2020, 07:24:15 PM
Your math is off.

2,000% = 20x -> btc would go from $9,200 to $184,000. In fact some models predict it will go to $288,000 USD within the next few years which would be a 3130% gain or 31.30x gain. If you are looking for 2000x (200,000%) gains about anything you are just gambling. Might as well go play roulette. That's not investing, and the kinds of answers you'll get saying otherwise will be from soon to be or already rekt traders and shitproject shillers.

If you are really after some projects that have long term growth potential and serve a purpose other than as a boiler room dork's pump & dump snake oil then you have a finite number of choices and they are easy to find without relying on the 'advice' this forum typically gives.

This guy I read from time to time, he tends to have a favorable approach to bitcoin and appears to be one of the few that believes it has intrinsic value. His viewpoint of bitcoin being like owning shares in a company will probably appeal to other traditional investors more than here but is interesting nonetheless.

These are unique enterprises built upon extremely capable blockchains, coupled with their own digital coins, and deep infrastructure projects. Right now, the industry appears to be notably underappreciated, and its future potential may be drastically underestimated by many.

Moreover, consider the trillions of dollars floating around looking for a place to park to get positive yield in this financial environment. Due to inflation resistance and future potential, I believe a prime place for future investment will likely be the digital asset segment. There is a lot of uncertainty concerning equities going forward, gold/GSMs are doing great, but in the intermediate term, there are not that many bright spots in the market. Furthermore, the Wuhan virus will likely continue to weigh on international confidence and consumption for many months. While it may take some time for inflation to filter through to the real economy, once it does, prices for various assets, including Bitcoin, should go substantially higher.
