Related to the office pictures.

3. Are your first run ASICs in production?
the first test run is already out to fab

...

8. How many wafers? How many TH's will be hashing in September? That knowledge will be known as soon as you get the chips, correct?
well not 30-50 TH. not sure what will be the yield of the test-run but it's in the thousands ICs. correct, also, next week we'll have the next batch going out to fab
in september we may have a few TH. i can't give exact figures, by the end of Sept, initial week of october we'll have the full speed online.

...

17. Where is the lab? Shenzhen or Hongkong? Can we have a chance to visit? When if not now?
lab is located in SZ, at the university facility, we'll be moving shorty to another office. we'll be inviting selected investors to visit our datacenter in september

18. http://www.labcoin.com/presentation.html    are these photos of the real where u r working in?
yes, they are real. it's the university i mentioned

I'm a bit confused about the "already out of fab" part though. This was almost 3 weeks ago.

Edit: Ouch..  Roll Eyes Wink

You should get some interest if you add it soon, as you currently can't look at the markets on btct without logging in.

Does the app require entering login details?

You can access the API without credentials, a login shouldn't be required.

Looks like the bubble is over! Down we go. Hopefully we can pick up some shares under 0.002 Smiley

Won't happen. And if it does, you most likely don't want them anymore. Grin

- No 'UPDATE' will come before early next week when I am expecting technical update on first run etc.

Is that a misplaced no at the beginning of the sentence?

EDIT, dexX7 deleted his post, not sure why.

This means that an update might be expected early next week, but not before.

To be honest, I deleted the post, because I didn't felt comfortable enough with the strong bias of it's content.

I'm not sure in what other projects TheSwede75 might be involved, but it looks like LABCOIN is buying advertisement space on just-dice.com.

Garden and now Myminer backout because of some legal issue in their country, http://myminer.com/pages/6
Where is labcoin located?

Collecting funds from the public is illegal in China? Does this mean no IPO occurs on their stock markets? In fact how can they even have a stock market if the public can't participate?

Maybe they need to be legally registered to sell shares.

Actually they are officially registred ("ITEC PRO LIMITED").
1029  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 25, 2013, 03:19:30 AM
The sell wall on .003 wasn't pulled at all, it was bought through.

Yup  Grin

I'm pretty sure it was pulled, though I stopped observing inbetween and came back later.

There was a >300 Bitcoin wall on .003 which was confirmed at 16:18:53 UTC by #3185 and reported as pulled at 18:40:31 UTC by #3196. In this timeframe no trade >= .003 is visible in BTC-TC's trade history and in the following 16 minutes before reaching .003001 there were 12286 shares bought at .003 for 36.858 Bitcoin. Even if you sum all trades of the last 24 hours you'll end up with only 120.111 Bitcoin worth of shares. Wink
1030  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 24, 2013, 10:00:41 PM
0.004 is a long way off.  Nearly 1000 BTC.

We know from some hours ago that there was a large sell wall on .003 which was pulled right before it was touched. So one could say "he changed his mind and realized that he can get more for his shares", but the pull was very precisely coordinated and that's why I tend to believe that the wall might have been used to induce sellers to undercut his wall to accumulate more shares. It is possible that a significant amount of those 860 Bitcoin till .004 get pulled, too. Wink

is there an update?

TheSwede75 said news will be announced earlier next week and yuansuyi published a link to SZICC's TSMC plan which implies LABCOIN will get out of fab before 2013-08-28. This is congruent with previous announcements.
1031  Economy / Securities / Re: [LTC-GLOBAL] CIPHERMINE Industrial Cryptocoin Mining & High Perf. Computing on: August 23, 2013, 01:13:02 PM
CIPHERMINE doesn't specifically mine Litecoin, and in fact, has many BTC ASIC miners on order (and some deployed); therefore, shouldn't CIPHERMINE's value be going up when LTC/BTC goes down? Are investors pulling out of CIPHERMINE because of the drop in Litecoin value (and they want their BTC back)?

Good time to buy or solid security in a dying marketplace (LTC-GLOBAL) denominated in an alt-coin in long-term decline?

Are there contingency plans to move CIPHERMINE over to a BTC-denominated marketplace in case LTC-GLOBAL and/or litecoin go belly up?

Kate mentioned she is in negotiations to start a PT on BTC-TC. Wink

A quick update: the recent mass sales have been almost entirely a lone very early-stage investor deciding to liquidate a fraction of their significant CIPHERMINE holdings. I therefore do think that the price suppression is temporary and am in discussions with the investor to see if I can help (I am, after all, starting to buy some back now). I shall keep you apprised as much as he deems acceptable.

Log in to view the virtual market...

Hm.. my thoughts:

1. There are reasons to exclude the general public.

2. Currently it's an incongruent solution, i.e. showing volume and recent trades on the front page.

3. Security may be a reason to allow readonly access, because one might watch the markets, but only login to trade, if he or she wants to do a move.

What's your reason for this update?
1033  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon - Chips group buy order time frame and deliveries on: August 22, 2013, 06:05:19 PM
Really really nice work!

Actually TGB was sloppy and confused about the difference between a "Master Air Way Bill" and a "House Air Way Bill". One is the identifier for the whole delivery of the shipping company, the other one for each individual recipient. Both are visible on the parcels and they are labeled with n/24. The conclusion is obvious, I guess.

My estimate was 187200 chips and guaranteed less than 374400 chips. Order #3 with 200000 chips maybe?
1034  Economy / Securities / Re: [MWGI] -ANN- MWGuy Indices *Still ALPHA* on: August 20, 2013, 07:31:38 PM
Hi chalbersma,

I'd favor a capitalization-weighted index, but instead of using last ticks, it might be a good idea to use volume-weighted average prices to buffer low volume spikes.

What do you think about..

 - One index for each exchange or one which combines them all?

 - Exclude company held shares? What could be used to determine the freefloat? For some stocks it's public knowledge, for others not..

 - Any idea how to recover data about outstanding shares in the past? Bitfunder maintains shareholder lists and the number of outstanding shares on BTC-TC is included in the dividends, but all in all it's still incomplete.

What's the status of the locked shares?

I think they have more important things to focus on right now.

I'm sure they do, but that's not the point here.

There were plenty announcements that the founder and developers start to post here and even more announcements about the shares and yet no founder or developer is active in this thread and the share issue is still unresolved.

I don't expect the devs to check in here and I'm also not that interested in a public portfolio, but once they say, they'll do it, I expect them to do it. That's all. Wink

1038  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: August 17, 2013, 12:08:23 PM
Before I continue, I'm not trying to troll or anything, I'm just trying to understand.

If the high difficulty puts other ASIC miners out of the game, what is stopping bASIC mining from losing money by mining as well? Do they operate on very low power costs, or keep mining even when they lose money, or whats up? And when the difficulty becomes too high for ASICs to be profitable, yes people will take them offline. However at the next difficulty change there is a good possibility that the difficulty will make it profitable again, until the next difficulty change, and it will continue like that.

Like, does bASIC have a plan to combat this all?

I'd call creativex a conservative investor. He buys available hardware and no pre-orders and his strategy is to buy cheap enough hardware to stay profitable. Sounds simple, but that's it. Wink
1039  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 14, 2013, 10:52:42 PM
4 BTC isn't that much money.  Most people that should be investing can swing that, if you can't you should really rethink what you're doing.

Be careful what you wish for. Plankton is, what whales and sharks eat, isn't it? Wink

Anyway. In my opinion one of the beauties of the whole virtual crypto exchange thing is the low entry gap. If someone wants to participate in trading, it's possible within minutes, if he or she has a few coins. Smiley

kmtan: As far as I know the app doesn't work anymore.

Looks like everything works fine again. Thanks. Smiley

I have no malicious intention, but I did some brainstorming about orderbook manipulation. Wink I noticed that larger buys/sells spread over a few orders take some time to get executed and actually it looks like as if those orders are filled one by one. Let's say I'd stuff the orderbook with a massive amount of smallish orders and a buyer/seller would initiate a buy/sell which would fill all those orders. Would it be possible to remove the later orders before they get filled after that order would have been initiated or is the book locked in that moment? Would the first fill of the bait-orders be propagated through the API before all of them are filled?
