We have received our sample-PCB and it is being tested in every aspect. Everything s running well so far. ( Mass production of PCBs will start later and can be finished within one week in Shenzhen)

Great! Mind to post a few pictures? Wink
1122  Economy / Securities / Re: Bitcoin Risk Management Offer by Kazu: Benefit from Uptrends, hedge out of Down on: August 03, 2013, 05:22:46 AM
I open up a leveraged 4x 1 BTC position on broker1.

Nothing happens.

BTC price is same. How much have I lost if I decide to close the position? The spread.

Same thing goes for Gox. I just leveraged and the market went sidewards and I closed both positions. And I didn't lose anything but spread/commission.

I'm not talking about no movement, but movement which doesn't reach your target area, but triggers margin calls.

Anyway. Can you provide a trade history or backtests?
1123  Economy / Securities / Re: Bitcoin Risk Management Offer by Kazu: Benefit from Uptrends, hedge out of Down on: August 03, 2013, 05:03:53 AM
Check out this thread, if you're interested. Same strategy:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=181584.0

The problem with leveraged positions in both directions are sideward movements.

I deleted both posts due to non-relevance.

Edit:

Quote
Also, regarding your post (the old one) you said I would lose everything, in a flat market? Not true. I wouldn't lose anything, and can wait forever until the market moves again.

No, I said you would lose everything if you leverage and the market goes sidewards and both of your positions would be forced to close.

It would be interesting to see your previous trading performance. Mind to post your trade history? What is your experience and on which exchange did you trade in the past?
1125  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTCT.CO] [IPO] [FAQ]BTCGARDEN MINER---Eyes to the horizon on: August 03, 2013, 03:00:58 AM
Just FYI, BTCSEA has been hacked by several times.

Just to get a feeling for the people behind this. How was that handled? Did they take responsibility?
1126  Economy / Securities / Re: ActiveMining Overview and Speculation Thread on: August 03, 2013, 01:02:32 AM
What about the 68 Klondike-16 boards, when will they get operational?

Waiting on delivery of those iirc. Should be any day now.

Are they already producted and ready or still waiting on Avalon chips?
1127  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Virtual Community Exchange w/ Options, DRIP, 2FA, API, CSV, etc. on: August 03, 2013, 12:32:55 AM
145K BTC volume? Wow. Is that some kind of record?

Indeed. And when it comes down to daily volume, the highest new record I've seen some days ago was 9.5k after ActM which was broken again by roughly 31.4k after LAB's IPO. Shareholders of LTC-GLOBAL (BTC-TC) must be happy. Smiley
1128  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: vdragon Erupter-Groupbuy-Scam : Task Force on: August 02, 2013, 10:54:30 PM
There are some possibilities:
A: he is clean. still on the drive way or pausing in a motel without internet. and has a fucking reason pushing all our 300 btc through a mixer
B: was a legit member before and decided to do this scam shortly
C: scam was planned long before and so are all old posts fake and just part of a story (=we are screwed)

D: his account was compromised (just to list this, too)

Did he post shipping rates anywhere? This could potentially shrink the area where he might be located as I assume that s/h rates to country x from location y are different than from country z to location x. Very vague lead, but I just wanted to give some input..

I'd say: get theymos in here.

Edit:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=148086.0;wap

If you search vccdragon@hotmail.com you will find he might have sold his account and someone else is using it.

Wow, good find.

I'm still formulating a plan for these reserves. There are a multitude of options coming and the field changes daily. At this particular moment I'd like to say we're going to order 10+ 400Gh/s Bitfury kits, but I don't know because they're not available yet & haven't been reviewed yet. I have the same information everyone else has.

Cheers.

How about a motion?
1130  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 02, 2013, 08:17:33 PM
I advise everyone to get not too crazy. I mean, you gave and trusted them 7000 Bitcoin and now there is a trust issue with outstanding shares? Don't get me wrong, I'm pro transparency and I assume people in the Bitcoinland are those with the most trust issues for very good reasons and this should be kept in mind and honored by every asset issuer.

Here is some brainstorming:

If you really want to expose company held shares to the public but don't want to expose your personal portfolios, transfer them to parking accounts which are only for company shares. Those portfolios could be made visible to the public and your private privacy remains untouched.
1131  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Virtual Community Exchange w/ Options, DRIP, 2FA, API, CSV, etc. on: August 02, 2013, 08:11:32 PM
Some brainstorming after reading the LABCOIN thread and the fear that issuers dump their shares without public knowledge. Those are just some ideas and should not necessary considered as feature request, but as input for further discussions about this topic:

Implement a method to identify issuer shares. Ideally the "coloring" should prevail, even if they move shares to different accounts. Or implement a method to lock issuer shares, but I'm not sure how they could be unlocked then. Unlocking issuer shares by a vote could possibly fail, because there could be several reasons to veto the unlock by shareholders, even if it's congruent with the shareholder agreement. Another idea would be to make issuer shares visible to the public by default (this would be a selective public portfolio). Well, I'm not sure about any of those solutions..

Edit: one more - selling issuer shares could be bound to a required public news annoucement prior the sale for disclosure reasons.

Another (unrelated) idea which came into my mind after reading the changes in CIPHER's shareholder agreement: As far as I know a vote is consideres as successful, if > 50 % voters agree with the vote. It's an interesting idea to implement a voting veto. CIPHER wants to allow any shareholder or group of shareholders with >25% of the company to veto a motion, but I wouldn't go so far and leave it to the issuer, where he or she draws the line. Maybe rules like "if more than > 50 % agree, the motion is passed, but if more than > 25 % disagree, the motion failed" or something.

One user did respond to my email request to send the coins back!  That was encouraging.

What an honorable man / woman! Smiley

I received a lock failure on an option a few minutes ago, but the second excercise worked.

Code:

the youtube video I think is real.

I feel kinda like I have seen it before, but those FPGA prototypes aren't really new anyway. If you look closely at the picture you see a timestamp of today in cgminer.

ETA on the chips? When was the last time you heart from Avalon/Yifu?

I can confirm the OP. Seen this before some days ago. The related threads are hilarious.
1136  Other / Meta / Request: make bitcointalk.org usable by translate.google.com on: August 02, 2013, 07:30:23 AM
bitcointalk.org is neither translatable by translate.google.com nor translate.baidu.com and with a growing international community it would be great to sneak into local community subforums, but this is mostly not very satisfying due to language barriers.

Manual translates are time expensive and thus I request that this forum becomes translatable by the above mentioned websites.

Yay, more contant improvements! Wink

Seems a bit out of line though:

1138  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTCT.CO] [IPO] [FAQ]BTCGARDEN MINER---Eyes to the horizon on: August 02, 2013, 05:37:37 AM
Well if the second batch is used to fund the third line of products and acts as a buffer when dividends are starting to get paid at a steady rate from the income of the first batch then that wouldn't be so bad.
What is needed is a time frame and condition for when the second batch of shares will be released.

True. I've never said it's bad, but unpredictability is. Smiley
1139  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTCT.CO] [IPO] [FAQ]BTCGARDEN MINER---Eyes to the horizon on: August 02, 2013, 04:38:41 AM
Initial Offering:

4,000,000 shares of BTCGARDEN,which occupy 40% of BTCSEA CO.,Ltd`s market value, will be made available to the public at btct.co. First 2,000,000 shares will be put up in value beginning at 0.016 BTC/share ,the rest of 2,000,000 shares will be issued with higher price as soon as the first 2,000,000 shares have been sold out.I.e.:

2,000,000 shares @ 0.016 BTC

2,000,000 shares @ higher than 0.016 BTC

The other 6,000,000 shares are held by investors of BTCSEA CO.,Ltd ,which are not available and limited to open in next 2 years. Pass Through stocks based on these shares are prohibited in next 2 years as well.Public shareholders have no such restriction.

Hi aiwell,

I want to know more about the second batch of issued shares. Can you make statements like "we don't sell them in the first two months" or be in any way else more specific?
1140  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 02, 2013, 01:56:32 AM
We would like to say thanks all to all the investors for the amount of trust being put in our venture, which led to a very successful IPO; we understand the frustration for the early issue regarding timing and shares distribution, unfortunately it depended on factors beyond our control.
These problems are now left behind and we look forward to give more detailed informations about our products and business model, we only ask to keep the thread relevant and post actual questions to let us track and reply them easily.
A big thanks to burnside and TheSwede75 for all the work done.

Sam Noi

Hi Sam,

gratulations on this IPO. There are four questions I have in mind right now and I'll start with quotes:

1. Chip specifications

According to the preliminary specs (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=241033.msg2664903#msg2664903) this chip should perform better than the BFL ASIC (65 nm) while occupying even smaller silicon area. I'm a total noob when it comes to chip designing, so can't even guess if it's possible. Any idea?

BFL - 65 nm, 16 cores, 250 MH/s each, 4 GH/s total, die size 7.1 x 7.1 mm, 12.8 W total
Labcoin - 130 nm, 16 cores, 300 MH/s each, 4.8 GH/s total, die size 6.5 x 6.5 mm, 12.8 W total

For that to be possible, not only each Labcoin core would have to be ~42% smaller [65/130*(6.5^2)/(7.1^2)] than each BFL core but also the Labcoin chip would magically operate at a higher frequency (300MHz vs 250MHz) while keeping the same power draw...

How did you achieve to create an allegedly superior chip and can you confirm those specifications?

2. 130 nm vs. newer technology

The cost of a 28nm wafer is more or less the same as a 130nm wafer. The only real difference is NRE cost and having the expertise to develop on 28nm, that's the real bet.

Bitfury went full-custom standard cell and it worked OK for them, but that's the risk of going full-custom at first. You have the same risk, since your 130nm chip has a lot of sketchy specs. I would rather you commented on those, especially on the part where you claim to develop a faster and more power efficient chip than BFL (also standard cell) with transistors that have DOUBLE the size (130nm vs 65nm) and require much higher voltages (power consumption scales with the square of voltage).

The graph above is for ANY ASIC manufacturer, as it compares a Normalized Transistor Cost (wafer cost + packaging + etc) to a timeline, based on yields/wafer, die sizes and wafer cost. The production costs on new die sizes quickly go down after some time.

What are the benefits to stick to 130 nm?

3. ETA

Is your 130 nm chip set to being finished in Q4 2013? Can you give a more precise time?

4. General timeline

What are your plans for the next days and months?

By the way, I would be thrilled to see some pictures from your work and lab. Wink

Thanks.
