1321  Economy / Exchanges / Re: www.BITSTAMP.net Bitcoin exchange site for USD/BTC on: July 04, 2013, 04:09:35 PM
I haven't tried it yet, but maybe it works using POST parameters? The server used to be very distinctive about GET and POST parameters.

+1

POST instead of GET did the trick. Limit = 300000 works very fine, higher numbers will probably too. Thanks! Wink

The problem with the new API is that "offset" is counted from the latest transaction backward, while you can't know what the latest transaction is, as you haven't queried it, yet.

Very accurate.
1322  Economy / Exchanges / Re: www.BITSTAMP.net Bitcoin exchange site for USD/BTC on: July 04, 2013, 02:35:17 PM
I am very sad about the API change. Skip, offset? And limited to a max request of 100 trades?

Tell me, how do I fetch "all trades since 1st june" now? Iterate over and over again with a limit of 100 results and proceed with a smallish offset like 60 to avoid missing new trades, because there is no relation between offset and anything else?

The old fetch wasn't optimal, but this is dissatisfying and will create way more requests and an even bigger overhead. Suggestion: from, since time or TID.

And please create a newsletter for developers or publish a PSA for further changes.

Edit: limit and offset isn't even working.

I'm off till next monday. Bids are placed down to 80, take profits up to 128. Bye. Smiley
1324  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 23, 2013, 09:54:45 PM
FYI: those tickers exist since ages ago. And MtGox has an api for other scam coins apart from LTC. It's a pretty pointless fact, as they already had that ticker 6 months ago.

Ah okay. Still I can track them and watch closely now. Smiley

Thank you!
1326  Economy / Speculation / Re: 512-qubit Quantum Computer on: June 23, 2013, 04:19:01 PM
From this article, their chip's calculated a specific problem, 3600 to 10000 times faster than a seven Xeon Quad core system. Suppose that an Xeon Quad have a 30MH/s speed, and 7 of them is 210MH/s, times 3600, that's at least 756GH/s for a single chip, at least 100 times faster than fastest existing ASIC design

So it will be the same impact next time when we go from ASIC to Quantum chips, not that much I thought about

Thanks for the math, bu the the difference between a quantum computer and a quantum optimizer is unclear for me. Not technically, but from an application point of view. What can an optimizer not do, what a real qc can do?
1327  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 23, 2013, 04:08:45 PM
Here is the true visible effect of Mt.Gox's LTC announcement:

1328  Economy / Securities / Re: All you idiots that "invested" in PMBs: on: June 23, 2013, 01:27:35 PM
Every single PMB on the market > 0.0026 BTC / MH (as of posting) is overpriced. Kthnxbye.

I'd like to know, why you choose the 1 % return per day threshold.
1329  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 23, 2013, 02:59:34 AM
did that have something to do with ASIC's?

Uh oh. Thanks for the friendly reminder. I didn't think about that.
1330  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin stocks are making me coins! on: June 23, 2013, 12:53:42 AM
I always get a bit baffled by stocks sometimes in any economy, what would anyone recommend in Bitcoins at least as the minimum to make some money? I'm thinking in terms of dividends of course, the returns definitely look nice.

Where's the, not yet option? Cheesy

In terms of dividende I think it's TAT.VIRTUALMINE and DMS.MINING at the moment with 0.63-0.78 % return per day at current prices and difficulty.
1331  Economy / Speculation / Re: 512-qubit Quantum Computer on: June 22, 2013, 10:52:33 PM
This thing is not a quantum computer, but a computer which uses quantum effects for faster problem solving and has significant differences.

I'm not sure, what the implications are, though.
1332  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 22, 2013, 10:42:02 PM
In march they processed over $5.2M. Mt.Gox's volume in currency for march was around $120M.

1333  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] BTC-Trading Pass-Through Fund -- BTC-TRADING-PT on: June 22, 2013, 08:41:36 PM
+1 for split. While the volume is that low, flexibility really is the keyword. Funny enough, this stock has the highest volume on LTC-Global.

I assume both 100x walls are from you. May I ask, why?
1334  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: June 22, 2013, 04:09:04 PM
It should be blatantly obvious to anyone with half a brain that there's going to be a lot less income from hardware sales due to competition. That same competition will also decrease AM's share of the network hash rate.

AM share holders are going to get hit by a good dose of reality in the coming months. Perhaps then they will stop listening to idiots trying to flog them overpriced stuff and do the maths themselves.

Yeah, but only if they stop working and still sell Blades for 50 BTC in the next months.

The next ASIC generation will come, shall it be KNC, Avalon or ASICMINER generation 2.

History showed us, what they are capable of doing and I have no reason to believe things will change fundamentally soon.
1335  Economy / Services / Re: automated bot for BTC arbitrage on: June 22, 2013, 03:59:25 PM
Well, you mentioned the problem. While automated buying and selling of BTC is no problem, transfering fiat is. And no exchange supports fiat transfer via API. So all you could do is something like "buy BTC, if exchange X price < exchange Y price".
1336  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: June 22, 2013, 07:18:04 AM
mining is dropping so fast..  Cry

Some may call it huge opportunity. Buy low, sell high and not the other way around, right? Wink
1337  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Community Exchange w/ Options, DRIP, 2FA, API, CSV, etc. on: June 22, 2013, 05:13:09 AM
I have a feature request, you might think about: ask the user for confirmation, if he does something crazy, for example posting a bid for 10x market value, because of a missing zero or similar.
1338  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 22, 2013, 01:27:00 AM
Bullshit? I wanted to get at least one. I think they are very useful.
1339  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 21, 2013, 07:46:27 PM
Which is the best alternative to Mt. Gox? Campbx? Reviews?

I'd say Bitstamp. Second most volume, no drama at all, fast deposits and a ticket response < 24 h.

Shopify is serious, asked them for confirmation:

Hey XX!

Thanks for writing.

At this time I don't have any more information regarding the integration, other than if it moves forward I'll be happy to let you know.

It's the first time I read about a security breach @Gox, but it's true, that users reported, they received a YubiKey for free. Google shows up nothing and I didn't receive any mail either.

I like their new press release. Wink

Edit: some nice rumors from reddit:

Shopify is adding bitcoin support "soon," says Shopify

Hey *******! Christian here from the Guru team. Glad to help you out….
I have no specific timeline for you other than "soon". We're testing it right now and I've added your email address to the list of people to be notified when it's live.
