2  Economy / Economics / Re: Deposits-in the bank or in gold? on: May 09, 2023, 04:40:57 PM
How to save savings in inflation, there are many deposits provided by the bank, but banks often go bankrupt, does it make sense to buy gold? How is gold bought in a bank and interest is issued on it?
For safe-keeping, Banks are still the safest and the easiest method to store your money, and there are a lot of benefits to them besides security. Of course, there's inflation so it wouldn't make sense to deposit in the bank if you want to grow your money. For gold though, I don't think gold provides interest, however, gold prices steadily increase in price but it's super slow, especially if you factor inflation.
3  Economy / Economics / Re: How the FOMC affects Bitcoin market. on: May 08, 2023, 10:03:12 AM
*How does Bitcoin adjust to the market after this kind of meeting and announcement by the FOMC affects interests rate of fiat and devalues it(Bitcoin) ?

It depends on the announcement of FOMC whether the interest goes down or increases. BTC price usually goes down when the interest goes higher and goes up when interest is lower. Although, I've noticed that it's generally for the short-term, and Bitcoin price either goes a little bit up or down or returns to its original price.

I know a community in my country that lives stream the price of Bitcoin, a few minutes before the announcement of FOMC. It was fun to watch the reaction of people because some would gamble their current month's salary to either win big or go home empty.  Grin

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long the high transaction fees will last? on: May 08, 2023, 08:58:54 AM
I haven't read the news yet, but it's been several days since the transaction fee has been very high. I checked on https://mempool.emzy.de/ and this is what I see now.

As a gambler, I'm a bit worried if this trend will continue because I have some fraction of bitcoin that I'd like to use for gambling, especially for the NBA playoffs. So for my fellow gamblers, or those who really need to transact with their bitcoin, what are the best things to do now in order to save from fees and avoid having our transactions stay unconfirmed for too long?

It seems that the Hype around Ordinal is congesting the network and we can see that it's going to take a lot of time until fees go down. I think we all know it, Ordinal is the hot thing this year and traders, investors, and even scammers are taking advantage of this. There's a post made by @pooyah87 which tells how scams are increasing in numbers, which results into flooding the network and increasing the fees.

It's a really rough situation right now without the knowledge of when this is going to end.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CEX deserves all criticism but not the hate on: January 29, 2023, 01:27:34 PM
CEX deserves all the hates it getting now but doesn't mean it has also not been helpful to bitcoin and crypto space.
I know that most issues that affected bitcoin and crypto space as a whole was mainly from Centralise exchange in 2022 but that can't just make us stop using it  instead we should be more cautious on the centralise exchange we use and since the whole issues happened , Government are going to strengthen the regulation of centralise and there will be more transparency from the exchange to their customers, especially with regards to custody of customers assets and proof of reserves .
Apart from the from this issues CEX has really helped in increasing bitcoin and crypto investors because most investors are not scared of buying coins from them because they are too many crypto scammers online and I myself got scammed last year,After that I come to the conclusion that if not CEX am not buying any coin.
Though I buy from CEX but I am always careful on the one's I use and I also use binance p2p. Some of the trusted one's are :
Binance
Coinbase
Kucoin
Kraken
Bybit
There are definitely others and they may be better than this I listed but this are the ones I have used
After the whole issues of FTX my advice is though buying from CEX is safer but storing all your funds there should be avoided and for holders just stick with DEX.

Bro, FTX is an isolated case where it abused the users funds by transferring money to their other company, and many more shady things. It's a single company that is getting hated, not the entire CEX. I don't think anyone hate CEX because of FTX.
7  Economy / Economics / Feb 1 FOMC meeting on: January 28, 2023, 05:58:01 AM
What's up with people correlating FOMC meeting this feb 1 with the pump and dump of Bitcoin? I don't know what FOMC meeting do so I'm confused as to why some people see this as a go signal to buy or sell Bitcoin.

Can someone share a light on this?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Vs Cardano on: January 26, 2023, 01:43:08 PM
Do you think cardano will over take ethereum in terms of tech with voltaire being worked on this year. Along with erc20 converter for easy conversion to cardano via ethereum.   Cheesy

The thing here is that once a tech got popular, another company will try to adopt it too. I don't think Cardano will have a significant lead in technology, especially when ETH also has expert developers on their side. Yeah, they might have a little bit advantage but that doesn't mean much to the masses. It's the trust and utilities, especially when convenient enough, that's going to win in the end.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can be banned or stopped by governments on: January 04, 2023, 03:20:53 PM
Indian government (maybe other also)  say that " to ban cryptocurrency we need global help" my question is : can bitcoin be banned if all government will agree to ban bitcoin

i am something less experience and has bad english so ignore

They can ban it but they can't stop people from using it. That's just how it is. It's the fear of the law that will stop the people from using Bitcoin.

The government sees bitcoin as a threat to traditional currencies, threatening to undermine central banks' control over money.
Many countries have promulgated laws and regulations that prohibit Bitcoin, but after a period of time, they announced that Bitcoin is allowed to be accepted.
It is difficult to implement a ban on Bitcoin in many countries unless the government fully controls the Internet. Such an approach will lose popular support. People will have some overreactions.

Bitcoin is too small to see it as a threat for the traditional banking. It's more like a nuisance because of how criminals are utilizing Bitcoin to launder or scam from the citizens. Bro, just look at NFT scams taking millions of dollars in Bitcoin and Ethereum alone.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RIP LUNA & UST ! Is USDD be same like that.. on: May 13, 2022, 04:43:24 AM
I do not think that it is RIP just yet. I know that it looks like it is not doing well, and I have been part of plenty of algorithm based stablecoins before last year, like SBDO/BDO for example and they dropped and never recovered neither.

So, I have to say that this may not end up recovering as well and I wouldn't be shocked about it, I mean it will probably be fine but I am guessing that it will not be that much of a big deal in the end even if this falls. However, the chances are, there is a small chance it will end up winning as well and I am guessing that it may end up profiting and going back to 1 dollar again helping Luna to get back to 7-8 dollars at least as well.

LUNA need to beat Bitcoin marketcap to even reach the level of cents lol. There's no way unstablekwon will be able to do that. This project is officially dead.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ELI5: What happened to UST and why it happened? on: May 11, 2022, 09:24:50 AM
Wtf ust now $0.5 and luna $5.
What is really happening??
why does this panic continue?
unfortunately because of this the crypto market has almost all experienced a decline.
I feel that there is no future for the terra ecosystem.

UST isn't backed by anything hence the price right now. Since they sold their Bitcoin (Their only asset that supports UST & LUNA), it's only a matter of time before it goes to $0.

Kinda feel bad for investors who thought their assets are safe in UST since they branded it as "Stablecoin", which you can see it's not.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RIP LUNA & UST ! Is USDD be same like that.. on: May 11, 2022, 09:21:18 AM
Man, LUNA & UST just solidified bear. It kinda sucks but I guess black friday sales.

I really doubt they can recover. Stablecoin runs on trust and that's the one thing they lost the most.

I just hope UST & LUNA disappear from this space. Largest ponzi scheme this year. Didn't even last that long before the shitshow happens.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You guys think pancakeswap messed up this time? on: April 27, 2022, 11:15:37 AM
It just mean that Pancakeswap liquidity is already depleting most probably due to competition of other AMM exchange. This is the right thing to do if you don’t have funds anymore to continuously pay stakers with there passive. This will not gonna kill PCS because they are already established and the number one AMM exchange in BSC. Maybe you are just frustrated in the decreased of the reward. Moving in Biswap is a smart move if you are chasing high APR.

I don't think it's matter of liquidity. I think what they are trying to prevent is overinflation. Their liquidity isn't really changing much in 3 months but their token supply keeps increasing without a sign of deflation anytime soon with the old design.

It's not that I'm frustrated, I'm just shocked. I woke up one day and the old design was gone, replaced with a new design that isn't really appealing to me anymore. The crypto world is changing so fast that locking your money with bad APY is just bad design, at least in my opinion. Their flexible is so bad that even staking in Binance yields more than the platform itself.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / You guys think pancakeswap messed up this time? on: April 27, 2022, 10:58:19 AM
Pancakeswap recently rolled out a new update that replaced their old staking design.

The old staking design was these 2:
Option 1: Auto compounding cake staking - 60% APY
Option 2: Manual Harvest cake staking - 48% APR or 60+% APY
You can unstake them both anytime you want and you can do both.

For the new design, you also have two options:
Flexible staking - which is Auto Compounding, unstake anytime - 10% APY (as of today)
Fixed Staking - Pick how many weeks you are going to stake, Auto Compounding - 20+% APY up to 220+% APY depending on how many weeks you are going to stake. Max 52 weeks or 1 year. The lesser the weeks, the lesser the rewards. You can't unstake no matter what until the timer runs out.

You can only pick one of the two. If you pick fixed staking, you can't do flexible staking anymore until the timer runs out. If you pick flexible, you can't do fixed staking unless you unstake your flexible.

A lot of people don't like this, myself included. I don't like how I won't have any control of my coins for a period of time. I don't like how my rewards are compounded instead of harvested. I don't like how it is Waaaaaaay less APY than the old design. It's also more complicated because before, you only have to stake it and wait for it to compound and you can unstake it anytime you want with a juicy APR. Now, you are forced to make a strategy which date you'd like to get your reward with a significantly less reward than the old design.

Sold all my cakes and bought Biswap. Auto stake it for 56+% APY and just forget it. I kinda feel like pancake swap removed the only feature people wanted from them. I know it's for controlling inflation, however, I feel like they did it in a bad way.

What are your thoughts on this?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are bounties dead? on: April 13, 2022, 03:00:42 AM
Campaigns that pay in useless coins are not worth it. I could say bounty hunting is dead. There were good projects before that pays good but that was not the case anymore. You're also competing against bots so less reward for you. You aren't also guaranteed anything if a project fails. You'll most likely get useless tokens that will only flood your wallet. If you're not using both, maybe you'll get like 1 good project in like 6 months.

I can see bounty hunting becoming obsolete in the future unless something changes (Like changing the payment method to actual coins that has value).
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Play to earn game tokens on: March 16, 2022, 08:29:11 AM
Which one is more promising according to you? And you maybe played as well

Vulcan Forged ($PYR)           https://vulcanforged.com/
Merit Circle ($MC)                 https://meritcircle.io/
Aavegotchi ($GHST)              https://www.aavegotchi.com/
UFO Gaming ($UFO)              https://ufogaming.io/
Citrus ($CTS)                         https://www.citrus.tech/
Enjin Coin ($ENJ)                  https://enjin.io/
Gala ($GALA)                         https://app.gala.games/
Axie Infinity ($AXS)              https://axieinfinity.com/
Render Token ($RNDR)         https://rendertoken.com/
GuildFi ($GF)                          https://guildfi.com/

Out of all the games there, Axie Infinity still holds the most promising because of it's potential to become mainstream blockchain gaming platform. Origin is coming where all the burning mechanics are and you can play it for free. It will also be in google playstore so it will reach casual gamers.

They will also allow other creators to create their own game in the Ronin Blockchain (It's going to be like Ethereum or BCS but for games). Why would people use Ronin? Because it's cheap. It's the cheapest blockchain out there.

Also, Land gameplay isn't out yet which is the most anticipated game of all the investors. Once all of these are out, AXS and SLP will surely moon. RON/AXS can even compete with the top 20 if that happens.
17  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: AXS and SLP available now on Coins.PH!!! on: March 01, 2022, 01:26:08 AM
Source: https://bitpinas.com/cryptocurrency/coins-phaxs-slp-axie-infinity/

I may consider staking AXS or being a LP provider to farm Ronin tokens later on.

I really doubt na may gagamit nito. Swerte pa nga nila kung may 10 silang mag transfer from Ronin to meta to coins.ph HAHAHHA

18  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: PEGAXY on: March 01, 2022, 01:14:40 AM

Smiley

Basically, just another NFT game na mamamatay after ng ilang months.
19  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin, papalo ba sa $100k ?? on: January 24, 2022, 10:53:51 AM
Parang 2017 lang din yung nangyayari ngayon. After nung halving nung 2017, biglang bulusong ung Bitcoin pababa na halos ilang years ulit bago umangat.

Medyo matagal tagal pa ulit bago mag bull run.
20  Other / Archival / Re: Where is the current absolute bottom of Bitcoin? on: January 22, 2022, 09:37:36 AM
-snip

That's awful. We've just begun the Bitcoin winter (according to past cycles) and we are already bleeding so much. Almost all of the top 100 coins are down 20% just today. From the looks of it, it's going to be rough. I don't even know if it's good to invest right now.
