681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How is the future of projects with gold-based tokens? on: July 03, 2020, 12:49:25 AM
That only happens when investors don't try to research a little bit. Legit projects have audits, certifications, licence that can be checked 24/7 in an actual and legit Gold vault.

Will these projects have a bright future?
Why buy shit tokens/coins when you can just buy gold jewelry or bars?
Regulations will be hawking at these entities that will deal with gold backed tokens/coins because it will be considered as securities and regulations would be strict to avoid money laundering.

Maybe because they don't want to store them in their house or to store them in a safe vault because of fees? Because legit Gold-Backed Projects tend to have small fees when compared to vaults. Also, it's easy to buy and sell this way and it's anonymous.
682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yes, there is a strip club that accepts bitcoin. on: July 02, 2020, 09:12:21 AM
I believe the club owner must be some bitcoin freak that's why he put it as payment method. And surely the strippers may not even have any idea what's bitcoin is.

It is most likely that they are accepting Bitcoin for buying drinks and foods. The strippers there probably doesn't even know what Bitcoin is. Maybe the owner is also exchanging Bitcoin to PHP for the customers to use for their strippers. lol
683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yes, there is a strip club that accepts bitcoin. on: July 02, 2020, 05:14:45 AM
I mean, why not?  Grin It's a good thing that people are integrating Bitcoin in their businesses even if it is a strip club. It's a small step. I bet it's not just the Philippines that does this.

How is the Corona situation in Philippines, is everything back to normal. I missed the normal days of going to clubs and hopefully everything will be back to normal.

Thank you for the concern. Although things are getting back to normal, there's still a lot of cases that is being discovered everyday. Quarantine might continue but it's getting normal and controlled now.
684  Economy / Economics / Re: How in the world we going to restart the world economy ? on: June 30, 2020, 08:30:00 PM
I'd be honest, as long as there's still no vaccine for this virus, then the economy would still have a hard time recovering considering that people could still get infected and ruin people's business. Though it seems that things are getting controlled now.

I don't know much about the other countries but here in the Philippines, the government is still planning to extend the quarantine as there are people who are still getting infected at a high rate which would greatly affect the countries economy in the long run. Nevertheless, every country would still find a way to separate the infected ones and treat them.

Give the world time, economy would be blooming again soon once this pandemic end.
685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of fake gold backed tokens on: June 30, 2020, 08:07:09 PM
I think the fault here are the investors himself because of how investors tend to not ask for audit of the gold stored. Why would they invest in a project that doesn't have a legit audit anyway? There are good gold stablecoins projects out there that are doing their best to deliver services that the customers would want. Just like the DIGITAL GOLD project where you can see the gold audit and the certificate that they are legit (here). You can even contact them to verify. To be honest, I don't know how people are getting fooled by fake stablecoin projects when it's really simple that they are fake (when they don't have a products to present to the investors or doesn't have proofs that they own something).
686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it just me or there are others who have same thoughts? on: June 30, 2020, 07:52:17 PM
Dumps are inevitable. Bounty campaigns are there to promote the project and to spread the awareness about it. It is up to the investors and bounty hunters whether they would dump the coins or not if it is listed and so far the majority of them are dumping to get some profit because of how volatile cryptocurrency can be. Since it is hyped already, of course investors would see it as an opportunity to get some profits.  Don't worry, it's not just you.
687  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin ang future shitcoin ayon Kay Mcafee on: June 30, 2020, 03:52:08 AM
688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How bitcoin survived during COV19 outbreak is why PayPal wants BTC on: June 29, 2020, 03:44:24 PM
Where did you get those news? do this news source have proof that Paypal is really going to buy/sell Bitcoin in their platform? As far as I know there's still no actual news pertaining that they would buy/sell Bitcoin in their platform. We don't even know if they will really accept Bitcoin all together. What are this new "proof"? I might be missing something here. I've only heard that they are planning to hire/hiring people with crypto-related skills. I would love to see some sources like statements made by Paypal itself though.
689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DO NOT TRUST TO TETHER on: June 29, 2020, 03:29:29 AM
Most of my coins are not in tether because of their reputation in cryptocurrency industry, the government could easily have their ways to crumble them within some few minutes. Personally, I won't advise anyone to hold their portfolios in tether because the government are not involved in this coin existence, so, they could easily get the coin off it track. I for one don't trust tether for a bit and won't do likewise to other stablecoins.

I don't get why people hold tether anyway. It's not like it's going to moon like other cryptocurrency. At this point, it's better holding real fiats than holding tether. I personally only use it to be the medium of exchange for other cryptocurrency because of its volume and liquidity but that's it. The first thing I saw when I googled "Reason to hold tether (USDT) are reasons to discard it.
690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin.com forum closes ?? on: June 29, 2020, 02:46:08 AM
To be honest, I have never heard of that forum before even if it's Bitcoin.com. I doubt that there's a lot of Bitcoin users there aside from BCH users. He will mostly sell this domain to the others if this close fully. But we can't be sure yet as this news came (https://cointelegraph.com/news/oops-roger-ver-says-bitcoincoms-forum-closure-post-was-prematureout) so we might expect a reversal.
691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Unique use case. on: June 28, 2020, 05:31:02 PM
I can't wait to be a part of a crypto space where each project is unique on its own. There is nothing so special about 'use case' if it's not unique. It's becoming boring having too many projects trying to solve the same problem with almost the same approach. You don't need to struggle to attract the attention of the community if you really have something unique to offer. Mind you, uniqueness naturally attracts adoption. A piece of advice to developer, be unique.

Though uniqueness can be a factor to attract investors, It all depends on how well the system works. If the developers itself are inexperienced or incompetent, it'll still fall into a failure after delivering a half-baked goods. Unique doesn't mean it's already good. Nevertheless, I'd like to see some unique projects from time to time as the market is just flooded with copied concept from another project.
692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I won't bet on this on: June 28, 2020, 05:20:52 PM
PayPal is planning to implement crypto payment, that's not a bad news at all and we already have DeFi projects making Ethereum bullish this days.. that's two major news that can trigger bullrun soon but..... Don't make a bet on this, nothing might probably happen, actions speaks louder than words, maybe if PayPal actually get this done then, just maybe .......
if paypal provides new features for integration into crypto currencies, especially Bitcoin, I'm sure this is good for the future of Bitcoin, because maybe Bitcoin can become a new payment tool going forward, this is really good news

There's no news yet. This is only "rumors" spreading around that Paypal is hiring people with crypto related experience. They are most likely will try to create their own currency with the use of Blockchain. There's no news that Paypal will integrate Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency in their system. I don't know man, we can't be hype just because of this simple rumors.
693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why did dogecoin survive? on: June 28, 2020, 01:44:07 AM
Don't be surprised, dogecoin is a perfect example for many new projects, I wish new projects can learn from this project, it's well backed by a strong community, keeping a coin alive isn't that hard once community loves the project, dogecoin over new projects Huh Hell Yes for me
So, why is the price still shitty despite the "supposed" community backing? May be the Doge community and fans are mere talkers and not doers. Talk without action makes no meaning to progress. To be honest, Dogecoin has ceased to disappoint me anymore as I have lost hope of it going to a nice price after the bull run of 2017. Well, this is cryptocurrency, anything can still happen. Price can still get to $1 😂

It's because the supplies are unlimited. Even if it is backed by a strong community, the supplies will always be there and inflation will continue to rise. That's the reason why doge coin is surviving today but will have a very low price. Cheap and fast.
694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE ETHEREUM GAS FEES on: June 28, 2020, 01:40:31 AM
I thought i was the only one having a bad day anything below 34 gwei is taking forever because there is over 10 thousand pending transactions

i thought eth was forked and all these problems were sorted out??

No, this is all happening around the world for some reason (I personally think it's because of DeFi). I don't know what you mean by fork but if you mean Ethereum 2.0 to solve all this problems, then it's still a long way to wait.

Ethereum remain the best and first smart contract project to be introduced on the blockchain platform. respect to that but i think it is high time they figure out on how to deal with high gas issues. this has lingers for over 3 months. so many payments are pending OR are been delayed due to high fees. what are the possible solution to FAST RESOLUTION of ethereum gas fees whenever it goes High.

The only resolution I see right now is to really pay the gas fee that is recommended by experts to make the transactions faster. It's a bother though considering that I made am making transactions that has a fee of almost half a dollar compared to the start of the month. You either pay high enough or wait long enough.
695  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ICO WhitePaper Matter Most? on: June 27, 2020, 02:41:56 PM
Whitepapers aren't big anymore, they aren't something you can count on when investigating a project anymore, I works in 2017 but now anyone can just forge a fake or plagiarized whitepaper, no a big deal anymore

Not to mention that as time goes by, it is becoming stale which lots of ideas copied from another project. To be honest, I personally think that whitepaper's purpose is just to track down fake and plagarized projects. They don't mean as much as the development and the implementation itself.
696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Movie about SATOSHI Nakamoto on: June 27, 2020, 03:09:22 AM
Does the team really know about Satoshi Nakamoto? Did they get permission and it is not needed to play a role as Satoshi Nakamoto? Well, this is interesting and personally I'm interested to watch this movie. However, I'm curious about the main character of SATOSHI Nakamoto. he is Japanese.

With this movie, do the people who do not know really about SATOSHI Nakamoto will really believe that he is Japanese? Will, they also believe in how the story as reflected in the movie?

However, I realize that this is actually not a kind of serious movie genre.
Quote
An outrageous and provocative dark comedy about a mismatched NSA team who kidnap the creator of Bitcoin — Satoshi Nakamoto — and attempt to torture him for the information they need to destroy crypto-currencies.
Is it a comedy?
Interesting

That's the image of most of the community about Satoshi Nakamoto, so they probably just go with that and hired a japanese actor. I personally don't really see it as a bad thing though as long as the protagonist make a good impression about Bitcoin.

This is kind of exciting though because considering that they hired a bunch of actors and actresses who acted from different famous movies, they certainly have a budget for this one. It's comedy so they might make some twist here and there.
697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum transactions not going through on: June 27, 2020, 02:35:44 AM
My piece of advice for sending ethereum or creating an ethereum transaction is to check first the recommended transaction fee or recommended GAS price.
You can use this website for that: https://ethgasstation.info/
This website will help you about your transaction fees and how long you want your transaction will be confirmed. Or if you also want to save some transaction fees, you can use this.

For some reason, gas priced has increased dramatically to the point that it becomes a bother to an average cryptocurrency user. This past few days, I had to send Ethereum to other wallets with a gas price of $0.5 which is huge compared to other coins. I think it's been like this for a month now and it hasn't subsided yet. I think this is probably due to DeFi getting hype and having a lot of users.
698  Economy / Economics / Re: What if this pandemic persists till the end of the year? on: June 26, 2020, 04:20:15 PM
I don't think it's going to end right away, as long as the vaccine has not been discovered for the virus, it will take longer. Because it is very contagious so the number of infected is rapidly increasing and that's the big problem we cannot destroy it quickly it can transfer to another person so fast. We need to strengthen our immunity for us to survive. And if we're capable let's learn how to help others for them to survive also we cannot entirely depend on the government.

The worst thing is that even if they cure someone with that virus, then there's a chance that person can get infected again if it somehow got contact again as there's no evidence that we can gain an anti-bodies to combat the virus. We could only treat them but we can't completely combat it.

The same as what we're experiencing today. But all of these are temporary because we'll be going back to normal as soon as possible whenever we've got to see the vaccine. It will end all of these bad things that are happening to us.

The adjustment has to be made so that it can ensure everyone's safety but the recoil of it to the economy is huge. There will be a slowmo recovery as for the economy because most countries are starting to allow businesses to get back again to their operations.

But the question here is when? There's no doubt that scientist are doing their best to find a vaccine for the virus but how long are this going to happen? a lot of businesses are shutting down and a lot of people are suffering financially. If worst comes to worst, this pandemic might even extend next year which will hugely affect the overall livelihood of a family.

I know someone who doesn't have a virus in their family but is suffering financially as their business is going on a huge loss.

But still, we can only hope. There are currently 100 projects going underway to make a vaccine but there are 8 who shows promise. If you want to know more about the ongoing studies about the vaccine, read some here https://www.healthline.com/health-news/heres-exactly-where-were-at-with-vaccines-and-treatments-for-covid-19#Vaccines

699  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are happy only when the price goes up? on: June 26, 2020, 03:56:04 PM
So I'm waiting on a BTC crash to a value of about $ 1000,- otherwise, I keep the money in my pocket.

From which I think won't be happening because of how Bitcoin progress throughout the years. The thing about 2017 is that the hype of Bitconnect and ICO made Bitcoin known to every part of the world which then even not investors who doesn't even know what Bitcoin is tried to invest in Bitcoin and most of them loss. With that, dump happened and now natural growth is in place. I really doubt Bitcoin would dump $1,000, not with this development and halving taking place. Price will keep on increasing which I think results into people adopting Bitcoin. That's why a lot of people are happy about price going up.
700  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: wallets for staking cryptos? on: June 26, 2020, 03:20:18 AM
The ones I used are Kucoin and Binance for staking altcoins as they are probably one of the safest wallets out there and with the highest returns. Though they are centralized, you don't need KYC to deposit/withdraw your funds anytime. But since they are exchanges, you should be aware that you don't the key to your assets and you should use it with care.
