22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Besides BTC and ETH what coins would you invest in long term? on: December 23, 2021, 08:14:57 AM
I am not talking about crap coins or coins "du jour" that are hyped today but seem to fade as time goes on like chainlink seems to have done. So what legit coins do you see blossoming in the future long term? i am interested in investing in them. ill add another question on top of this one, is matic and solana hype coins today that hot today but not tommorow?

No one can predict what will hyped in the future, we can only ride the waves. I would say that while Bitcoin is still having it's ups and down and the market is constantly in the red, then I'd suggest investing any in the top 100 altcoins. They've proven themselves to be worth investing and they almost certainly follow the movement of Bitcoin upwards.

BNB would be my first choice though. Fast chain, cheap fee, owned by one of the best exchange in the world, there's no reason not to hold BNB at this point. Not to mention BNB gives reasonable staking reward aside from its potential to increase its price in the future.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your idea about Cake token on: December 22, 2021, 03:17:53 AM
Hey Guys
Do u think CAKE value will increase at new year  Huh

Cake didn't recover as much as Bitcoin recovered in percentage so I'm pretty negative about cake pumping. Although, I'd prefer it staying at a stable price because of it's profitable staking system. Even if cake don't pump, the staking reward is still attractive to many.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Play2earn games on: December 21, 2021, 12:20:23 AM
How good will Play2earn games be that someone can rely on them for daily weekly or monthly income? Axie infinity was a blast but now it's no more a easier option for people that are struggling because the requirements to play the game is highly costly, are there free to play crypto games available?

Axie infinity requirement isn't that costly anymore though. Just $200 and you can build a team though the concern is the earnings is small with 4-5 months roi. You can probably earn like $100+ if you are good in PVP.

To be honest, pay-to-earn right now is kind of in a stalemate. The hype definitely died down and most play-to-earn games aren't earning as much as they used to be. Although, you can search the latest p2e games and get in early to get the most profit but it's the riskiest because most NFT games right now are rug pulling. If you're lucky, you can probably earn like $100+ in a week.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFX: The Next Big Thing After NFT on: December 19, 2021, 11:48:07 AM
NFX is the next big thing after NFT. “X” is the unknown innovation. I say this because humans become easily bored and would in the blink of an eye move on to the next big complicated and confusing money making thing that one of the tech bros is cooking up somewhere in their basement. Notice how if it is not complicated it wouldn’t rake in so much money? Notice how if it doesn’t have buzz words like Blockchain, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, etc., no one is going to look your way?

Well, what do you think- Is NFT a fad? If the average Joe is able to afford it some day will that make is less profitable? Lemme know what you think.

I think the next NFT that will take off and at the same time be profitable at the same time is NFT-gaming. Almost the majority of the new generations are gamers and being able to play while earning at the same time is a dream come true to many. Imagine a game like World of Warcraft or FFXIV but you are able to trade items/tokens for real money, that's going to be a hot topic especially if it's handled by competent developers.

27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have been scammed in pancackeswap telegram group on: December 19, 2021, 11:13:36 AM
The fact that they called you is already suspicious enough for me. Pancake swap is a reputable exchange so there's no way they'd scam that much and ruin their integrity. Are you sure the one who called you are really the support though? or just impersonating supports?

Be careful next time though. Don't answer calls from someone saying they are from support because they are most likely a scammer. It's customers who calls the support.

29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ELON MUSK BECOME AN INFLUENCER on: December 17, 2021, 07:44:14 AM
Hi everyone, I really need to know your opinion about the tweet from A Dogecoin and Tesla LORD, Elon Musk.
He said that he thought about quitting as  a CEO and become an influencer, Full time.
Can some one tell me your opinion about this, it can be from crypto side, or another.

I need that because usually Elon Musk tweet and his actions so far, cause anything significantly, e.g. SHIB & Dogecoin. So, If we know what'll be happen in the future, We can start earlier to invest right now

That's probably some nonsense thought he spew out of nowhere. There's no way he will actually consider quitting Tesla and become a full time influencer. In fact, he's already a massive influencer with all his tweets and statements around the internet.

Let's just say he becomes a full-time influencer in the crypto space, he's probably going to become a second Mcfee with all the shillings.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHY ARE ETHEREUM GAS FEES RIDICULOUSLY HIGH? on: December 17, 2021, 07:15:58 AM
It's like ETH network is meant for the rich 🤣 and poor people have to stick with BSC, MATIC Solana and others, imagine investing money only on BSC chain projects 🤣🤣🤣 just to avoid high gas fee

Well I mean, if BCS can accommodate for what is lacking in Ethereum, then people would really flock there. Even I stopped using Ethereum for months now because of its ridiculously high gas fee and I'm not planning to go back anytime soon even if there's a new and hot crypto in Ethereum. There's just no way I'm investing a scent in projects under Ethereum right now.

WHY ARE ETHEREUM GAS FEES RIDICULOUSLY HIGH?

I was about making a withdrawal transaction some time ago on the ethereum chain, and the service fee was approximately the amount of the withdrawal I wanted to make.
Is this normal or was the platform dubious?

Same, a third-party wallet I'm using right now is asking me $100 as gas fee when I'm only going to withdraw $10. This is really getting out of hand.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is better to invest your funds in if the alt season starts? on: December 17, 2021, 07:09:24 AM
Let's imagine for a second that the alt season began in early 2022. What to do and in which market segment to invest your funds? NFT P2E or DeFi, or is it better to invest in tokens of promising blockchains like NEAR AVAX MATIC DOT ATOM?

Crypto in the top 100 that you can earn passively is a good investment when another alt season comes. Famous play-to-earn NFT such as axie infinity will definitely take off again because of their future updates (Land Gameplay, Battle Version, and future NFT burning mechanism this early 2022) and also because of its profitable 100%+ apr.

32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Squid Game scam creators buy $125M worth of SHIB turning into Shiba Inu whales on: December 12, 2021, 11:59:12 AM
Creators of the scam token Squid Game (SQUID) have become Shiba Inu (SHIB) whales. Apparently, the scammers have used their scam proceeds to buy SHIB tokens, a SHIBArmy‘s Twitter post says.

According to the post, a purchase of 3 million SHIB tokens worth $125 million was traced back to a Squid Game wallet. The funds were first sent through several wallets, probably in an attempt to conceal its source. There were also several transactions that added up to the total sum of $125 million.

The SHIBArmy in the tweet expressed concerns that there may be a manipulator of the token market price with the arrival of the suspected Squid Game scammers. This has caused panic among some SHIB holders with concerns that the price may not fluctuate naturally anymore.

Official Tweet Link: https://twitter.com/r_SHIBArmy/status/1468683128323678216?s=20

Investors fell victim to the Squid Game token scam
The sudden crash of the SQUID token was a major development in the crypto space as the token suddenly crashed to zero after a significant number of investors went in. This caused a major loss to thousands of investors, including a Shanghai man who lost his $28,000 life savings.

Source Link: https://finbold.com/squid-game-scam-token-creators-buy-125m-worth-of-shib/

If that's really what happened then that's a red flag to SHIB. Imagine another hype around meme tokens and SHIB pump 100%, you don't know when the scammers will pull $200+ million worth of tokens. It's going to be a bloodbath and the token will crashed, probably die because of this.
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Machine Learning truly predict Bitcoin's price? on: December 12, 2021, 11:55:09 AM
I've watched a lot of YouTube videos and read a lot of articles that claim that you can predict the Bitcoin price with Machine Learning and artificial intelligence like using some algorithm. Truth be told it is both intriguing and almost at the same time confusing. Personally, I don't think any ML or AI tech can make any price prediction now because we have a lot of whale manipulation (because the market size is smaller than any other market). Well, while I may be wrong I would like to know what you think. Have you ever gotten a satoshi richer by following the prediction of an algorithm?

There's a lot of factors that concerns the price of Bitcoin and most of them are unpredictable and sudden things. Predicting the precise price of Bitcoin would very well mean that AI can predict our future. I know those youtube videos did research on the topic but most of them are theoretical and not practical.

Basically, it's impossible to predict the price of Bitcoin even if AI/ML have so much data.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would You Prefer a KYCed Team? on: December 12, 2021, 10:20:24 AM

Recently, I am seeing some good altcoin projects that boast of having the project and the whole team passing some form of KYC. I am not, though, familiar how the whole team KYC is done but I guess this is in conjunction with a known third-party verifier. Of course, there is no guarantee that a project and team that got its own verifiable KYC will not never run away or fail as there are many variables to be considered but then again this can be helping in boosting confidence on the part of the investor. Should this be the new standard when looking for a new project to support?

A KYCed verified team is certainly going to help with minimizing the risk of investment. If you can see the background of the team and their prior experience in handling past projects, then you can see for yourself they are really worth the investment or if they can really pull off the plan that they are going to do. It also lessen the risk of being scammed or rugpulled.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Possible Compromise Laptop With Seed in Password Manager? on: December 11, 2021, 09:31:16 AM
I posted this in the bitcoin subforum but I think it probably should be posted in altcoin subforum.  But I say its probably better to post it in few places so others could give opinion.

I have coins stored in a software wallet on my laptop.  The thing is I do have the seed stored in my password manager.  Yes I know people tell me you should never do this in case your computer gets compromised.

My concern now is I clicked on a redirect link when using my laptop earlier.  The thing is that site that I went to... I clicked on it through google, and then it redirected me to a fake site.  I then just closed it but then noticed this was a phishing site.  I didn't enter anything on that site.

My concern is i read this malware I have could be some browser hijack and keylogger etc.  So that means if i log into my password manager on my compromised laptop, they could track everything I typed?  What if your password manager was open at the time?  I do also have my seed written on paper as well.  My concern is if i log into my password manager now on my computer, that means the hacker could literally see all my passwords and everything i wrote on it?  I know about the phishing links hackers post where you download a fake wallet and enter the seed.  But if you don't enter your seed, I read its safe.   But could clicking on a link to a website without downloading anything also do this?  I did not see any program download.  But I'm pretty sure it was a dangerous site.

The thing that I considered was to not log into my password manager.  But then use another device and enter my seed into it to access the wallet.  Then assuming my coins are still there, create a new wallet and send all of them there and get a new seed.  Is that recommended?

I don't want to wipe my laptop as I have so many things on it for years etc.  I also didn't do a backup of it as well.  The thing is I do have a copy of my password manager on a usb drive.  But is there any virus program I could use or buy where it would find any type of malware, keylogger or browser hijack etc on it?  So that way I could continue to use my laptop without wiping it clean?

I have heard of that browser hijack where when people send coins, their browser would copy/paste another address etc.  But in this situation, what would you do?  I guess this is the same like if your computer is compromised and you use software wallets and sites since anything you type into binance or coinbase etc... well that person could record your keystrokes?

You are most likely safe. As long as you didn't enter any crucial information or downloaded any files on the computer, the website you entered won't do any harm to your computer except knowing some basic information such as IP address, etc.

You could use a USB enclosure for your SSD or HDD then connect that to other computer clean to check if your storage is compromised.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another pump and dump manipulation on: December 11, 2021, 09:18:35 AM
See another manipulation of a new project, the coin is called greenex (gnx). From September 18 2021 the coin was selling at $0.93245. The coin increased to $422.42 on October 5 and decrease the following day back to $0.0009702 from $422.42. the coin ever since that time has been very low.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/greenex/

I see this as a bump and dump coin, many people can see the coin increasing and invested but not knowing the coin will start to decrease the following day. Can you imaging what $10000 can turn to if invested when the coin turned $400 and it dumped that way, it will remain less than $0.0245.

This is one of the risk in investing on new coins and tokens, they are gambling.

I just don't get it. Why would people invest so much without even doing a proper research. The fact that it pump so much from a few cents to hundreds of dollars is already a red flag. Not to mention it's a new project that hasn't even trading for months. It's literally trading for a day.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bear market is inevitable on: December 11, 2021, 08:59:06 AM
I can already hear the cries of the panic sellers when Bitcoin starts dipping some more. I don't know why people are panicking at this price level when right now we are still at a great position compared to the start of the year. Just earlier this year, we are playing at around 30-40k Bitcoin, having the range of 50k+ is actually good. We just have to wait for another cycle of bull run for us to break 100k+. For now, it's accumulating time.
38  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin dump, anong nangyayari? on: December 11, 2021, 08:28:27 AM
Napakalaki ng binaba ng bitcoin ngayon, down 17% at the moment.

Ayun sa data galing sa Binance exchange. https://www.binance.com/en/trade/BTC_USDT

57,153.05 - 24hours high
42,000.30 - 24 hours low.

Not to mention Christmas na kaya and dami talagang maglalabas ng pera nila.

Magagawa nlng natin is mag relax at antayin ung bagong cycle na pag angat ng mga cryptos in the future.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AXS and SLP. Why the price of SLP is falling but AXS is rising? on: December 11, 2021, 08:21:33 AM
the reason why SLP price is falling is that there are more slp minted than burned. More players are coming means more slp that has to be minted and the supply is unlimited. Regarding axs it is the governance token of AXIE Infinity and has a limited supply only
It's not only that. There are some reasons and I would try to mention all of these reasons and you can see below
1. The team keeps minting new token instead make the old token has more utility
2. SLP has hyper inflation
3. Too much axies in the market but the demand was decreasing a lot
4. SLP has no more utility other than used to breed axie. That's a garbage token that will always be earned and then dumped for fresh money.

I'm sure the SLP is just a coin earned through missions run in the infinity axie game. I guess why the slp goes down while the AXS goes up is because this coin keeps being sold because all players get slp every day. But I heard good news about the SLP about breen. I'm sure the SLP will go up soon.
The logic is when people can earn it for free without limitation everyday and why do they need to keep it on their wallet?
It would better for them just dumped their SLP and then used the funds from SLP to invest in another legit project. People didn't care anymore about SLP. They care only to earn and sell

I agree with this one. Unless they add more burning mechanism or update to v2, then there's no hope for slp to go up again. Even though the burned SLP has increase per day because of the breeding fee adjustment, the amount of SLP being minted is still significantly higher then burned SLP.
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FUDS started against Bitcoin as asusual on: December 11, 2021, 08:15:22 AM
I have seen few post in the forum again which is portraying Bitcoin price in negative lights again and some are predicting Bitcoin will go below $40k, it's creating panic and sense of fear amongst the inexperienced users which may lead to panic selling. I would urge all to make as much educational post on Bitcoin as possible to keep the newbies and other users away from fuds and also to make them understand that Bitcoin is a technology and not a gambling where they can double their money anytime. It's decentralised and fluctuations will always be there and we need to adopt to it instead of cashing out by losing out on capital investment.

It's bear season so it's really expected to have those. FUD has always been part of Bitcoin and in the cryptocurrency space. Just ignore them. I think there's enough resources and information around the internet for the newbies to read or watch. Bitcoin has been making so much noise for so long that I think people have a general idea that it's a risky investment. The good thing about FUD is that it will remove weak hands and those who doesn't know what they are into. Anyway, Let the chart do the talking once Bitcoin starts pumping again.
