322  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: July 17, 2016, 09:58:33 PM
Just received my GekkoScience Compac from bitshopper.de  (https://www.bitshopper.de/shop/sha-256-miner/usb-miner-bitcoin/compac/)

I have an existing Minera setup which works well so I thought I would try the cgminer-gekko image posted in this thread.

However whenever I plugin the USB Miner I get the following:

Jul 17 09:38:16 moria kernel: [  519.269442] usb 1-1.4: new full-speed USB device number 9 using dwc_otg
Jul 17 09:38:16 moria kernel: [  519.293262] usb 1-1.4: New USB device found, idVendor=10c4, idProduct=ea60
Jul 17 09:38:16 moria kernel: [  519.293329] usb 1-1.4: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
Jul 17 09:38:16 moria kernel: [  519.293347] usb 1-1.4: Product: Compac BM1384 Bitcoin Miner
Jul 17 09:38:16 moria kernel: [  519.293364] usb 1-1.4: Manufacturer: bitshopperde
Jul 17 09:38:16 moria kernel: [  519.293379] usb 1-1.4: SerialNumber: GS-10000262
Jul 17 09:38:16 moria kernel: [  519.306631] cp210x 1-1.4:1.0: cp210x converter detected
Jul 17 09:38:16 moria kernel: [  519.307898] usb 1-1.4: cp210x converter now attached to ttyUSB0

Which is great but it's followed by:

Jul 17 09:38:20 moria kernel: [  523.045954] cp210x ttyUSB0: cp210x converter now disconnected from ttyUSB0
Jul 17 09:38:20 moria kernel: [  523.046271] cp210x 1-1.4:1.0: device disconnected

I have tried various boot command options to no avail:
slub_debug=FP
dwc_otg.speed=1
usbcore.old_scheme_first=Y

I've also updated the firmware of the PI, updated all of the software packages and updated minera to v0.7.0

Anyone else have the same setup and had this problem?

Regards Gareth

What version of the Pi are you using and are the sticks at stock settings?

So what's the best way to set my sticks up on Minera so they appear as separate workers?

Excited to join the race!

Excited about the new compac, I just hope the resellers don't add too much margin.

How can I view a proper log of why my Pi is freezing?

It's a Pi 1 (model B), from when they first come out, surely would be fine though?..

Pi seems to crash after about 1-2 days, how can I investigate/fix this? The hashing stops and I can't access the IP but the light on the Pi are still on and blinking.

I've just set it to restart the system every 24 hours hoping that's a cure. Any ideas why this happens though and does it happen to anyone else?

Blockchain.info works just fine with generation transactions; I used to use it with p2pool all the time.

That's good to hear thanks.

Just emailed blockchain.info too.

This is excellent software, thanks for your hard work! If I ever hit a block you'll be getting a donation from me.

Bitmain's security policy should have meant his email would be removed when he left. As this hasn't happened I think Bitmain is responsible and should give you back the money you lost.

Just got mine in the post, thanks Sidehack!

Just in case anyone else gets this issue..

I wanted to try my sticks in Windows before I set up my Pi at a later date. I installed Zadig and the special cgminer (in 1st post of this thread) but I had to install a zlib1.dll into system32 before cgminer would run. Secondly I was getting error "libusb_sucess" in the cgminer, I had to go to (Win10) control panel>hardware and sound>power options>change plan settings>change advanced power settings>usb settings>usb selective suspend setting>disabled.

338  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BM1384 Pod Miner plus trade-in/recycling - an interest and feasibility poll on: February 14, 2016, 07:03:55 PM
Also, since the prototype pod is probably the last thing I'll do with BM1384, I'll probably start a new thread at some point since the old BM1384 Project Dev thread will be kinda defunct. But I may be working with new stuff sometime soon so when I have something worth saying I'll start a fresh thread to say it.

Ahh nice one, didn't see this.

Get a Gekkoscience compac and you can make a few satoshis for fun or even solo mine Smiley

I assume Sidehack is busy making/shipping the compacs first, before more news for the pod.
