421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have control or not? on: May 03, 2020, 03:20:50 AM
I gamble uncontrollable, but never go beyond my budget. I could risk all my gamble budget for the day in a single game which could turn out to be a mistakes or profitable choices but it never leads me to tapping into funds that wasn't intended to be used to gamble for the day. So I think I'm in control.
It means you can control yourself very well, boy. The point is "you only use money intended for gambling, and never use other money". As long as you can do this way, you won't regret losing a big amount of money in a single day. That's why people say to gamble only on what you can afford. Because to gamble excessively won't make you be rich, you just create a chance to be more losses.

I agree, you're still in control. Those who are not will tap those funds meant for something else and that can be the start of another problem. If he wins and get back the money he just lost, I don't think he will stop, I think he will think that he can still gamble because he is already winning, but what if he lost it again?

You're safe, I'm like you, before I start gambling I promise myself if I lose "this amount" of money, I'll stop. And for the record I always stop. I never even gamble way huge amount of money, I don't treat gambling as a job, its still an entertainment for me. An opportunity to earn but we still have to accept that we won't always earn, and its alright. Losing is part of gambling.
422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has this period killed your desire or exited it on: May 03, 2020, 03:10:40 AM
Yes, we need to wait until this crisis end so the sports can reschedule the match. I think at that time, and the audience will be bigger because they want to have the feeling to watch the games in the stadium.

Yeah, thousand of people will swarm stadiums after this pandemic and it scares me. I hope the pandemic is really over when it comes. What I mean over is that we can safely walk in the streets without worrying if we will get one. Safe is when a vaccine is already in circulation and this virus isn't mysterious anymore. And I can wait for years just to feel safe again.

As for me, I miss betting more than watching as I don't really watch the full game when I put my bet. I have a lot of stuff to do online, so spending 2 to 3 hours watching the games I bet on is kinda waste of time for me, and I don't feel comfortable watching games when I bet.

Hah! I feel the same way too sometimes, its scary to watch a game whenever you bet a huge amount and you felt you choose the wrong one and its already too late to change. I do it to some games too because yup I needed to do something else, I just look for updates time to time during the game.

423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How bitcoins is helping during the lockdown on: May 03, 2020, 02:59:54 AM
I don't know whether bitcoin is helping during the lockdown. I don't think so. There are other matters to attend to that involve fiat unfortunately. Has bitcoin got great potential during the lockdown? Absolutely yes!
Just the fact that is is digital and you don't need to be physically near anyone to pay them makes it a good choice. Pretty much anything digital has a great potential during lockdown. The fact that all you need is a phone and internet connection works well since most people have that and during the lockdown many people are on their phones or playing video games.

It may be helping us few people who are into bitcoin. However, I still can't say that it is the answer to this pandemic because a lot of people in the world are into fiat money. Stores are also into fiat. Don't get me wrong, bitcoin really helps me, but I can't really say to a person suffering now that bitcoin can help him, there is so much risk, so much time needed to learn about bitcoin to have less risk. They need to earn without the risk of losing the money which they needed.

And, you forgot to tell that a lot of people doesn't have a phone and internet connection too, especially to us 3rd world country, and they are the most vulnerable ones in this pandemic. I can't tell them to try trading in bitcoin right away, they didn't even have the money to use anyway.
424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble right after coronavirus outbreaks? on: May 03, 2020, 02:51:29 AM
I guess now the situation is based on country to country, some countries might be able to declare that pandemic is already over in their country but some might not be able to do that, especially for countries that are heavily affected.

so here's the thing, if in our country we will be covid free but US are still fighting covid, I can't still gamble on sports as they are the one hosting the games.
Any government won't let this happen mate, especially when they are one of the highest covid cases country coz after the pandemic they will make sure that there is no left over virus in the streets, probably we will take a month long clearing every thing  most especially the facilities that we have used for the victims, schools and streets. I wonder how easy for some countries the situation right now, when they have just a low number of cases that can be handle seamlessly.

I don't think a country would declare the pandemic is over if there's no vaccine circulating around the world. You've already heard about how long it was to make it right, it will take a year or two to feel safe again walking with crowds. And if a country lifts its lockdown, second wave is waving. I read about a japan island experiencing the second wave because they lift the lockdown too early, I hope it won't happen to every country. It also scares me that a person can be reinfected with the virus, damn. It wasn't safe until a vaccine was made, so after months of lockdown, if we are out in the streets again, social distancing and face mask is still needed, no one would end the pandemic in a few months or even a year.
425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The growth of cryptocurrency on: May 03, 2020, 02:42:40 AM
It feels good a lot who are into bitcoin learn it from a friend. I learn it from a friend too. It shows how important word of mouth is. I hope everyone would always try to talk about bitcoin to their friends if they have the chance. I'm into bitcoin because a friend tells me the story of how he was earning through bitcoin(trading). He also tells me the risk and its fine, I started to read about its risk because I'm that interested to earn too. I understand that it wasn't easy money, lost a few dollars, but its an opportunity! Let's be honest, we are interested in something if its an opportunity to earn.

Since then, I'm into bitcoin and still trying to learn something new about it, also trying to tell it to my other friends too. However, I've learn that bitcoin isn't only a mere opportunity to earn, its a great technology that can be used in the future. And I hope, people wouldn't see it as a scam, if you would tell someone about bitcoin too, don't forget about the risk and don't ever tell them that its an easy money. Its a great investment but it has risk, you won't earn in just a night.

426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Started Gambling Because You Want To Be Part Of A Gambling Campaign on: May 03, 2020, 02:24:42 AM
In order to be successful in a gambling signature campaign you have to know gambling as many of them need as a requirement that many of the posts to be made in the gambling section.

Therefore you have high chances to be accepted in a gambling signature campaign if you are a gambler with experience. However I don’t think applicants who start gambling only to be accepted in a signature are not the best ones and this is not a proven record.

Oh! finally you've said it. This is what I've been thinking too. Well, its good they wanted to be a good poster first before joining a campaign. However, I think there would only be few people who would start gambling first just to be accepted in a campaign. I hope they're not spending too much just to be in campaign, LOL.  I think a lot would try to join the campaign first then learn gambling later because of the discussions here.

And just like what you've said, I also agree not all who are part of a certain campaign really contributes well in the gambling section.
427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CORONAVIRUS IMPACT ON SPORTS GAMBLING on: May 03, 2020, 02:15:40 AM
Not everybody is a fan of online gaming, I have tried some of my co-workers and friends to bet or try to play online game such as Dota2, but they just don't want to switch their gambling experience. They all loved betting with sports. Though, I agree that the eSports industry is generating millions of prize pool and income, thus attracting big time investors and gamblers to engage in eSports. The same reason why there are several TV channels available for eSports already.
There's just people who doesn't like online games.

We just have to consider what they love, if people are already working, I like to assume that they are not playing online games anymore because it requires time to master the games, and some of them are not really a fun, but with male workers, they love sports because they play it also.

Like me, I play basketball and I Idolize a lot of NBA players so I thin sports betting is suitable for me as it gives me a feeling that I can win since I know the game very well, at at the same time I'll be able to enjoy it.

I'm a fan of esports, I'm into Csgo and Dota 2. At the same time, I still understand what you feel about other people still wanting the regular sports they've been watching because I missed it too. It is still different watching a real human playing. Really miss watching basketball and baseball.

And I agree its hard to understand the esports with high prize pool, specially to those who are not technologically advance gamblers. Still remember how hard it is for me to understand when I first play those games, the graphics and so many buttons to click just to play it good. They can play other easy games but I don't think it will fun as much as the sports they love in the first place.
428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino workers, asking for salary during the shutdown on: May 02, 2020, 03:03:35 AM
Its hard to believe there is no vaccine yet actually.
It's a new strain of Corona Virus so it is expected that there are no virus nor vaccine for it at this moment. Scientists are doing everything to make impossible things like having a perfect cure for it in around 12-18 months. This sounds long but that is the shortest time possible that scientists can create a cure for a new virus unless they will do it this time in a shorter time then it will be better. Not hard to believe for me so lets just wait for the cure Smiley.

Yup, its even a great achievement if they really made one in just 12-18 months. It really takes a lot of time for a vaccine to be created. The vaccine for the ebola virus was created in 5 years, and sad to say its the fastest-developed vaccine ever. I think what makes it hard is because the Corona virus is still mysterious in terms of how it affects our immune system. Have you heard about the news in South korea about those reinfected ones? Quite scary. I thought there's immunity after you get one. So its really takes time, its crucial to create a safe and effective one.

About the topic, employers would say that their employees are not their responsibility, however, isn't it best to show care to the people who work for them? They may not really gave everyone their full salary but its enough if they can do something for those employees who are really suffering. So after this pandemic, their employees would be able to go back to their work.
429  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The halving Gusto on: May 02, 2020, 02:46:17 AM
Don't tell people not to invest because they are new to this. Tell them to be smart, careful and to invest only the money that they don't need so if they lose it, they won't be broke.
You have a good point dude. That's right however I think this is not really the right time for them to invest since the market is now booming. I can foresee that if they insist it, they might be late for earning. If an expereienced like me don't yet invest then what more for them Cheesy (actually I just miss the boat that's why, my bad *facepalm). Maybe I will wait a little bit longer hoping the price decline.

Same, feels good to know someone also miss the boat(don't get me wrong). Just a little too late to buy and I just woke with the btc price at around 8k-9k. The only btc investment I have now comes from the campaign. The market is now booming but I am still planning to buy, I think it will be alright as long as the money I used isn't for something else, I can hold it as long as I can and wait for the btc price to reach the expected price after halving. I hope it will.

But just like you've said, still waiting if it will still decline, and I won't miss it again. ahecks.

430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone booked a hotel using bitcoin on: May 02, 2020, 02:11:49 AM
As I browse through my social media account, facebook, I saw this post saying he booked a hotel in Thailand using bitcoin in Travala ( application for hotel and accommodation booking.

A quick view for Travala, the heart of this system is Travala token (AVA) which helps the platform offer tokenized incentives to its customers and any other user that can help the platform grow. ( quick google seach)

Here's the video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-v-pLZzVO6s&fbclid=IwAR2urpi9mDQ9k-Rs-L5N5-KYUbwYen01SmXtAdwkhsY16E3w5iJff8Y718I

There is no actual moment that he is booked and paid using bitcoin. What do you guys think about it?

Would you book a hotel using bitcoins?

I would like people to be familiarized with Bitcoin. However, I also wanted to still choose what payment will be cheaper. Unfortunately, whenever I heard news like this, there's always a side saying that the shops are charging way higher payments. I wanted to see the good side of it but somehow people will see btc not as a choice if shops are charging unfair, because people will always choose whats convenient and fair.

I think there are sports gambler that can live without it, but still a lot of them are missing it right now. They are more familiar with that compared to esports. They may try esports betting but I think everyone will miss the sports they are watching ever since.

Instead of thinking about missing the sports betting. Isn't it better to see the sports as a whole, not just the betting side. I really missed watching the games. The stars, the athletic skills, the sportmanship. I just can't explain why it is more than just sports and betting. I think you can already understand me as a sports lover. And yeah, I agree with all the other posts, it will take some months or years for sports to be able to go back to normal, or continue with the new normal.

432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping as a gambler? on: April 28, 2020, 03:54:55 AM

Whenever and before I gamble, I always put my mind into a state that whenever I lose my money I will not feel anything. No regret, no disappointment, no nothing although when I was starting in gambling I always feel this. Feeling regret and disappointed but I didn't felt that feeling where I can't sleep because I lose in gambling for some reasons. Maybe because I'm just noob or just I don't feel anything like a doll Cheesy

Oh, I think its effective, I do it too sometimes. Whenever I spent money to play, I always talk to myself. I train myself not too expect anything. If I win, its good! If I lose, then it will be okay too, I already accepted that it can come to that point. Its like mind conditioning, fully understanding the risk you are into. You already accepted the fact that gambling is winning and losing. I also avoid betting money that I really need, I just bet money that I can afford to lose.

So yeah, I can still sleep at night with that in mind. If there is a thing that makes me have difficulty in sleeping, it wouldn't be about the money I lost in gambling, cause I know from the very start what I've gotten into. Its easier to accept a lose in that way.
433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Started Gambling Because You Want To Be Part Of A Gambling Campaign on: April 28, 2020, 03:35:28 AM
Have You Started Gambling Because You Want To Be Part Of A Gambling Campaign or you are already a gambler and wants to be part of a gambling campaign, in my case I come to play gambling because I want to become a part of a gambling campaign, so far this is my 6th gambling campaign and I still continue gambling because I want to continuously involved in gambling campaign.

How about you?
im really confuse about your post, i keep on reading the statement, you don't need to be a gambler to join a campaign, maybe you wan't to say is that, you are doing that because it is required by the campaign manager?
or its one of the requirement to be able to qualify

I'm kind of lost in it too. You can be part of a gambling campaign as long as you are qualified, a quality poster, and proven to comply with the requirements. You don't have to be a gambler. I am trying to understand where the OP is coming from. Maybe he wants to gamble in able to promote his campaign or to understand some discussions in the gambling sections in able for him to post quality posts? I'm not sure tho.

But his last statement can be dangerous, he is gambling continuously to be always part of the campaign, I hope he is not losing all the money he is earning from his campaign. And I hope he is not using all his other funds in gambling.
434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is the main purpose in gambling, always to make more money? on: April 28, 2020, 03:21:28 AM

Well, it is true, this entertainment reason seems to be their way to escape the fact what they really after. I don't think that there are some people who only gamble without aiming to win money. There is no such person with the idea of burning money without expecting a return.

Uh, but I somehow know a person gamble just for fun. He just want to play, he wants the feeling of winning not because of the money, but the idea of winning itself. Its luck when he brought more home, but it is also alright if he lose all. He already had a limit when to stop. If you're asking why did he chose gambling? Why not other free entertainment? What would we do if he enjoys that specific game? And what would we do if he is more thrilled to play with such a risk.

People have different views in gambling. We may think that no one would really want to burn money without expecting a result but I assure you there are. He can go home smiling even if he just lose all his money for the day, its because he enjoys the process of betting, the excitement it brings. Its just that entertainment is somehow better with money involved with it.
435  Other / Meta / Re: Can we trust user that spread false and dangerous news on COVID19? on: April 28, 2020, 02:03:52 AM
I don't think we should really trust them, however I hope you can still help them understand why you find it false and dangerous. You've said its dangerous, so you should make them understand why it is not really true so others won't believe it too. Give them facts, research and valid arguments. I think you can also feel it if the account was a troll or just a person who always believes such things. So always choose to reply to those posts that you believe are just not well informed. Somehow connected to what @welsh said:

Its the same here. Some people will trust what people say, and some won't. We aren't going to start censoring people for having their own views, and opinions about something. Can you trust them? Probably not, although even if it was from a perceived trustworthy user of the forum, just because you trust them with exchanging money does not mean you can trust their opinions, and views.

The great thing about lack of censorship is you can call them out for their bullshit without any issues from a moderation point of view, and trust point of view.

This is what I hate about some humans too. Their views and opinions are always dependent on a certain person they idolized. We've always seen this through fanatics of a certain politician. They will always believe what the politician say, even if it is really on the wrong side. It feels like those fanatics already forget what it really feels to have their own opinion.

This is also why "influencers" in the internet should be careful in spreading news too, because they have millions of subscribers who would've believe everything that they will say.
436  Other / Politics & Society / Re: When will covid-19 disappear? on: April 28, 2020, 01:39:39 AM
When will covid-19 disappear?

The question "when will quarantine and self-isolation end"? whole world wonders.

covid-19 threat will dispersal when there will be 60% vaccined or immune. Vaccine will most likely not be available for a year. Most countries took so strict measures they will not be able to gave 60% immunity in one year time. Maybe over time they will see from other countries what is the best way.

Vaccine will save us, a year or two they said. However the 60% immunity won't work as of now...

I am hoping this was true too but, uh, sad to say that there is still no evidences as of today that someone cannot be reinfected... I just read that 222 people in South Korea who have tested positive and fully recovers are now reinfected again with the virus. This is a problem specially with the creation of the Vaccine. They are really not sure why. So "Immunity passport" is not really the answer as of now. The WHO even says that countries should avoid creating certificates that someone is already immune to the virus because its not, there is still no evidence. There are still reinfection around the world. So yup, sorry to inform you but it was not yet the answer...

Quote
But the country is now grappling with a new problem: at least 222 people have tested positive for the virus again after recovering, and experts are not sure why.

Therer were simposons episode about crypto too. I dont think that this really mean something
It is not like it should mean something , thing is , every series have an audience , therefore they are able to capture mind of a lot of people , which in-turns helps them to have an understanding of cryptocurrencies on the back of their head , doesn't matter if they go around buying some or not , it is just making the cryptocurrencies popular indirectly.

A good point. Some of the viewers may know about bitcoin already. However, a part still doesn't really know about it so I guess some will be informed for the first time. They may search about it on the internet and who knows they'll be interested in it. I found it still really helpful for the community because I watch series just like that. I searched for every terms, every jokes, etc that I don't really get. Specially when I really love the show.

I think it is a win. And we are talking about millions of people watching the series, it will reach a new generation in the future too. It isn't necessary to mean something, but it will be helpful in informing others that bitcoin exist.
438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping as a gambler? on: April 26, 2020, 02:52:14 AM
Those people or a player who gonna play until midnight is sign that you are being addicted because that time is people are going to sleep or they are rest now. But maybe because you have difficult to play is because you have think that you gonna want to play more and win when you play .

I think I somehow get your point. You mean those people playing from the day until midnight, those who sacrificed their sleep just to gamble. I agree with you, it is a sign of addiction if one gamble for a whole day until midnight disregarding the responsibilities he should've done.  However, not all gambler playing until midnight is an addicted gambler. Maybe its just the available time for him to gamble and enjoy. Maybe he has a job and it is the only time he finds for playing. He can gamble at midnight and be a responsible and productive person again the next day.
439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why most gamblers can never hold onto big bag? on: April 26, 2020, 01:38:59 AM
I don't want to say that losing everything at a single day is normal for gamblers (though it really happens to gamblers) since you might think that it's okay to lose such amount within a day.

Maybe your friend thinks that he can win a big amount of money within a small period of time, that's why he's putting everything on the game. The reason why gamblers tend to lose their money that fast is because of their greed. You see, your friend had won already yet he wasn't contented and risked everything again and went back to zero. Gambling also includes smart thinking and a proper mindset. It's not just about the capital, luck, or strategy. Gamblers should also know when to stop, to avoid any big losses.

This is what I've been thinking too. It is somehow a normal story from a gambler. Winning a huge amount of money then lose it by the end of the day. I think those gamblers are blinded by winning and greed. They think they can have more after winning so much. They are feeling it and once you are feeling it, it so much harder to stop. Those who can afford to stop while winning are those who can still think critically, they are the ones who still have control. This is one of the reasons why a lot of gamblers lose so much at the point they are betting money they didn't even own.

Cryptocurrencies have grown over the past two years. Even though decentralized, this currency is now used in many countries. A lot of virtual transactions are carried out using cryptocurrencies and the government has slowly started accepting this currency.

Quote
I just want to know your opinions to these 2 questions:
1. How does cryptocurrency help you in your daily lives?
2. How long have you been into cryptocurrency and how does it changed your life since then?
3. How did you know cryptocurreny?

1. It helps me a lot while in quarantine. Workers were stuck in a no work no pay environment, while here we continuously earn just like nothing happened. We can trade, invest, and send money too. This is very helpful specially to those who have bills to pay even without work.
2. Been here a few years ago, aside from having a more convenient way of sending money(depending to who will I send the money). It help me in saving and investing money too. I can't really say how it changed my life but I am sure learning a lot about the technology.
3. I was encouraged by a friend who was already in the crypto community.
